POWER, GLORY & VICTORY,     “WORTH CONSIDERING” 6/17/20    From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture       (Across my desk this morning from Texas.)
“…Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things…”  (1 Chronicles 29:11, NLT)

Talk about His Greatness

Many people spend a lot of time talking about and reliving their past mistakes and hurts. Here’s the problem. You’re remembering the wrong things. Nowhere in the Scripture are we told to remember our defeats, failures, or bad breaks. It’s time to quit thinking and talking about it. All that it’s doing is depressing you.  David says in Psalm 34, “Let all who are discouraged take heart.” He goes on to tell us how to do it. “Come, let’s talk about God’s greatness. I prayed and the Lord answered me.” He was saying, “When you’re discouraged, when you don’t see a way out, talk about God’s greatness—not about your problems, not about what didn’t work out. Talk about your answered prayers, the times God healed you, promoted you, stopped the accidents, and turned the problems around. Talk about the Red Seas that have been parted.” When you’re remembering your victories, you’re going to move forward in faith.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for Your greatness and power and glory. Thank You that Your hand has been upon my life in so many ways, answering my prayers and doing what I could never do on my own. I declare Your goodness, Your victory, and Your majesty. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,
From the time that Adam & Eve rebelled against GOD and decided to go their own way we have been caught up in the mess.  We were not born in the Garden of God, we were born in the fallen world of weeds and thorns.   We grew up in the weed patch.  We even tried to survive by planting weeds, believing they were food.   But our Creator God never lost faith in some of us deciding to try to swim upstream.  That out of this big mess, some would decide to love the light more than the darkness and seek HIM out.  We see this in the Old Testament records of the prophets as recorded in Hebrews 11.  Isaiah and Ezekiel seemed to secure some really good connections.  I really love the prophecy of Isaiah in 53 and in 61 especially in 61 where he predicts the words of Christ Jesus at age 30 when HE began HIS ministry in power: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound,  2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] [a] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,”   Many hundreds of years later this was the exact message of Christ Jesus as recorded by Luke and not only that but that HE actually did what HE said HE was sent to do and still wants to do the same today through those who belong to HIM.  Luke 4:17-21, John 14:11-13.     It would be easy to read and say I am the ONE.  But then to prove it by action would be a whole different ball game.  As HIS, Born from Above,  Kids we need to learn to follow in HIS steps.

So today, how do we do what Christ Jesus also sends us to do.  Obviously it is not happening with what we are doing.   In our traditional theater church services we see very little, if any power.  So have we been following a lie or have we so filled the water pipe with our junk traditions that there is little or no room for the flow of the Holy Spirit?  Matt. 6:7,  Matt. 15:6-9,  Mark 7:6-13

I once had a vision on the road driving from Eugene, OR. to the coast where I was building a house for some folks.  And for a few moments driving down the straight road I could see in the vision a beautiful pastoral scene on the right with lots of wild life and green and flowers and fruit like some artist would paint at a happy time.  But on the other side of the road it was death valley.  Nothing green at all, just D. O. A.   So I asked the LORD what’s the problem and he said the culverts under the road are full of trash.  So the water does not go under the road..  And HE concluded in saying, and you are one of the culverts.  And then HE asked me if I would like some help to clean it out.  I said sure but then the stench of what HE started pulling out of my culvert made me want to barf.  So I stopped HIM,  but just a little water came out the other side like mud.  And the good seeds did not seem to mind the mud at all,  they just soaked up the good water and started growing,  and so I was had.  I had to go back to work on my culvert to increase the flow of life giving water to the other side.  It has been very embarrassing at times but worth it to repent,  forgive and forget the past and to press on with the house cleaning or sanctification as the Bible calls it.  And so today I can look back see a lot of new green life on the left side of the road for which I give sincere thanks for the privilege of being allowed to experience HIS life in flowing through me.

We are each a culvert with the potential of allowing GOD’S life giving water of the Holy Spirit to flow through us.  Some big, some small but all with the ability to share GOD’S LIFE.   But if your culvert is plugged with the unrepentant fears, resentments, lusts, cares and love of this world you may totally miss out on GOD’S LIFE for you and for others for eternity.  Our life time of testing in this temporary time dimension is only for our one life time and after that what you decide here will be eternal.

POWER       “WORTH CONSIDERING”    6/16/20      From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture       (In my mailbox from Texas today.)
“…Jesus simply replied, “Go home. Your son lives.” The man believed the bare word Jesus spoke and headed home. On his way back, his servants intercepted him and announced, “Your son lives!…”  (John 4:48–54, MSG)

Take Him at His Word

A government official had come to Jesus begging Him to come heal his son who was close to death. Jesus didn’t pray or take a lot of time, but matter-of-factly declared that the boy was healed and he should go home. The whole time walking back home, the man could have thought, I don’t know if it’s going to happen, He didn’t even pray. But he simply took God at His word and later found that his son had been healed at the exact time Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.”  Like this man, there are promises God has spoken to you, things in your heart that you know are going happen—healing, promotion, divine connections. Make the decision you’re not going to worry, you’re not going to go around doubting, thinking it’s never going to happen. Stay in faith knowing that the moment God said it, He released it. It’s already in your future and is headed your way.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for Your goodness and favor and that You are faithful to Your word. I take You at Your word and believe that You have some unexpected deliveries coming my way. I believe it’s going to happen sooner than expected. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,
My first thoughts are: This is a very personal testimony of a day in the life of Christ Jesus with profoundly great results as usual.  But the key words here are:   And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.  Seems to me for today we must first get into knowing for sure which voice is really Jesus.  And second that the father did not try to tell Jesus how to perform the needed miracle.  The father could have insisted that after the meeting that Jesus really needed to come to his house or church for it to happen.  He did not tell Jesus that we need to get together a prayer meeting or that Jesus would need special fasting and prayer.  Obviously the father deeply loved his son and he came himself.  In fact in John 14:11-13 Jesus tells us: “ 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

So why is this not our experience?  Could it be that our vain traditions have made the Word of God ineffective?   Again in Eph. 4:11-16 we are reminded by Apostle Paul that if we will allow ourselves to be fitly joined and compacted that the world will than be able to see Jesus.   It seems that much needs to be restored to the Holy Spirit that we have taken from HIM and call it church.  And also we have created our Jesus to be acceptable in our world through our traditions.  Looks like we have become comfortable with “lukewarm” as per prophesy in Rev. 3 and 1 Tim.3 and have tried to make our Creator in our image rather than to submit in humility to being restored to HIS image.  Personally I long for the Real Church of Christ Jesus to be gathered into John 17 and learn to stand up in the image and likeness of Christ Jesus.  For the True Church to find time to enter into the ministry of loving power and holiness that we find for us in leaning about Christ Jesus through the eyes of HIS disciples and apostles.  We can no longer afford the pride to agree to disagree.  In love we must learn to work together with the Holy Spirit to find loving unity in GOD’S TRUTH for real freedom.   John 17:20-24  (Should read the whole prayer for context.)

20 “Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching,  21 That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.  22 I have given to them the glory (POWER) and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one:  23 I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.  24 Father, I desire that they also whom You have entrusted to Me [as Your gift to Me] may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory, which You have given Me [Your love gift to Me]; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”

My hope and prayer is that some may find the time, in humility, to submit to being a part of this our LORD’S only recorded personal prayer by John the beloved.   We know it will come to pass.

Yours, in HIS great Love and wonderful Grace and Mercy,
Ken<>< www.Trinity-Aloha .org

A female Humpback that had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines. Weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat, with hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body, tail, and torso, and a line tugging in her mouth, she was a miserable victim indeed.  Thankfully, a fisherman spotted her just east of the Farralone Islands (outside the Golden Gate) and radioed an environmental group for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was in such bad condition the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her, a very dangerous proposition. One slap of her enormous tail could kill a rescuer. Undaunted, these brave souls worked for hours cutting her free. One guy who was cutting the rope out of her mouth says he saw her eye following him the entire time. Finally, they were able to free her.  The moment she was freed, the divers say she began to swim in joyous circles! She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and nudged them, gently –she thanked them all. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.  (The Church (people) of Christ Jesus need the same freedom in the Holy Spirit.)  www.WorthyMinistries.com

EAGLES & PROSPERING

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,    Beloved of God and me,   John 3:14-18

EAGLES & PROSPERING   “WORTH CONSIDERING”    6/15/20        From Ken<><

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

While walking through the forest one day, a farmer found a young eagle who had apparently fallen out of his nest. He took it home and put it in his barnyard with his chickens and there it stayed for years. It wasn’t long before the little eagle learned to eat and behave like the chickens.  One day a naturalist passed by the farm and saw the eagle confined in the barnyard with the chickens. When he inquired about this strange sight, the farmer told the man his story. “Unfortunately,” said the farmer, “the poor little guy just never learned to fly.” “Still,” the naturalist sighed, “he has the heart of an eagle and can surely be taught. Will you allow me to work with him?” The farmer agreed, but with much disbelief.  The naturalist picked up the eagle and lifted him toward the sky and said, “You belong to the sky and not to the earth. Stretch forth your wings and fly.” The eagle, however, was confused. He did not know who he was, and seeing the chickens eating their food, he jumped down to be with them again. The naturalist took the bird to the roof of the house and urged him again, saying, “You are an eagle. Stretch forth your wings and fly.” But the eagle was afraid and jumped down once again to be with his chicken friends. Finally the naturalist took the eagle out of the barnyard to a high mountain. There he held the king of the birds high above him and encouraged him again, saying, “You are an eagle. You belong to the sky. Stretch forth your wings and fly!” The eagle looked around, back towards the barnyard and then up to the sky. Slowly, he stretched his wings, and with a triumphant cry, he soared away into the heavens.

Somewhere along the line, we like this poor young eagle, were put in a lowly barn with the chickens of the world around us. We learned to live and eat from the ground and grew up believing that there was not much more to do than sit and cluck all day.  But the reality is that we are eagles! We were created to fly and even soar! God has great purpose for our lives! If we would only realize who we are in Him!  So let’s remember who we are today and stop acting like chickens! We are the head and not the tail! We are Kings and Priests! We have great things to do for the Kingdom!    From:           worthybrief@worthynetwork.com

Today’s Scripture   (Across my desk today from a church in Texas.)
“…No weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD…”  (Isaiah 54:17, NLT)

It Shall Not Prosper
Today’s Scripture doesn’t say that we won’t have difficulties. That’s not reality. It says, “The problem may form, people may talk, you may get a negative medical report, but you can stay in peace, knowing it’s not going to prosper against you.” Because you’re God’s child, because you’re in the secret place of the Most High, God has a hedge of protection, mercy, and favor around you that the enemy cannot cross. No person, no sickness, no trouble, and no force of darkness can stop God’s plan for your life.  When you face these challenges and you’re tempted to worry, tell yourself: “This problem may have formed, they may be trying to make me look bad, but I’m not worried. This medical report may not look good, but I have a promise from Almighty God that it is not going to prosper. He has me in the palms of His hands. I’m staying in peace. God and I are a majority.”

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that I have Your promise that nothing that forms against me is going to prosper. I declare that because I am Your child, there is a hedge of protection, mercy, and favor around me that the enemy cannot cross. I’m staying in peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Notes:
When we had the Inn in Holualoa, one of the things I love to have was big brown fresh eggs for breakfast.  The kind with the orange yoke.  So I would take a banti feral hen and let her set on her eggs and golf balls for the 21 days for hatching but a day or so before hatching order in some chicks from Honolulu of a dozen big laying hen chicks.  I would then go out that night,  put a towel gently over her and very gently take a chick in my hand and sneak it under her and remove a couple of golf balls.  I kept doing that until all the babies were under her and then remove the towel.  She would immediately catch on to the babies, her mother instinct wold instantly catch hold and next morning she was one very proud and very protective mother.  Those big hens would even be taught by her to fly when in their teens and would roost with her in the trees totally out of reach of predator even when full size. They would be one very wise flock of hens when they graduated.   They learned to be like their “mother.”   This is just the opposite of the Eagle story, never the less, it is true.   That the world does set standards for us of mediocrity of what we can and can not do.  Even our schools are dumb ed down.  Many things we learn from the world really do hold us back.   John, the best buddy of Jesus, had this to say about it:   1 John 2:14,   I write to you, fathers, because you have come to know (recognize, be conscious of, and understand) Him Who [has existed] from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong and vigorous, and the Word of God is [always] abiding in you (in your hearts), and you have been victorious over the wicked one.  15 Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.  16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].  17 And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever.  1 John 2:14-17   (And we are seeing a world wide object lesson of this very thing very clearly today due to the virus.)

SHAME & REST,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”    6/12/20

 Today’s Scripture
“…Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach…”  (Isaiah 54:4, NIV)         (Across my desk today from Texas.)

Shame
Shame is one of the enemy’s favorite tools. Starting in our childhoods, he will remind you of every mistake and every failure you’ve ever made, saying “Shame on you” even about things that weren’t your fault. As adults, “Shame on you” plays over and over in our thoughts. If you fell back into a bad habit, you told yourself, “Shame on you.” If you went through a divorce, the message is “Shame on you.” Shame causes us to feel guilty and unworthy, as though we don’t deserve to be blessed.  But today’s Scripture speaks of how God has removed our shame. Whether it was your fault or somebody else’s fault, you don’t have to carry the heavy load of guilt, or beat yourself up over past mistakes, or feel wrong on the inside. When the enemy says, “Shame on you,” God says, “Shame off you. I’ve forgiven you. I’ve redeemed you. I’ve made you valuable.” Your worth comes from your Creator.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You have removed my shame, and You have defeated the enemy who accuses me. Thank You that You have forgiven me of my past mistakes and released me from the guilt. I declare ‘Shame off me!’ to whatever tries to make me feel unworthy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts:

Shame has been a very big battle for most of my life.  I have been very curious most of my life and got the worst switching of my life when about age 6 in the 1st grade when at play I ask little Nancy, my age,  if she would show me,  her’s and I would show her, mine.  Just a Ky. little boy curious but in a big grass field not mindful that my mother was with workmen on our home being built above us.  It was not a good idea at all.  And I was switched with many willow branches on bare legs for 3 blocks all  the way home about something that meant absolutely nothing to me but due of my mother’s shame.   Like Adam and Eve we have all had those kind of experiences that sometimes have lasted a life time with not really realizing the shame bondage that had been placed upon us by the enemy and sometimes even the church.  But I have found that the Word of God can and will deliver us with loving heart faith.  What we need most today is true heartfelt repentance and a Holy Spirit Revival and Restoration.   We all have or had demons of darkness in our back closets of shame.  And we all need to be delivered and set free to become like Jesus.    Even at my age a little difficult to share with you but somehow needed ?

Tomorrow is the 7th day of last week, Read Hebrews 4 about entering into HIS REST…  The Jews under the LAW totally missed the meaning of the 7th Day of Rest as it was prophetic of the time that the Church would learn to walk in the Spirit and to cease from their own works.  Be sure and read it and note especially Heb.4:10-11   So dump the shame and enter HIS Rest.

FAITH & TRADITIONS,    “WORTH CONSIDERING   06/12/20    From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture    (Found in my computer this morning from Texas.)
“…The very day I call for help, the tide of battle turns. My enemies flee! This one thing I know: God is for me!…”  (Psalm 56:9, TLB)

A Miracle Put in Motion
You have things you’re believing for—perhaps a dream to come to pass, your health to turn around, or to meet the right person. You’ve been praying for a long time, but you don’t see anything happening. It seems like God is on vacation and as though your prayers aren’t doing any good. But what you can’t see is that God is at work behind the scenes. Don’t believe the lies that say your praying, believing, and standing in faith is a waste of time. He not only heard your prayer, but He put the miracle in motion. In today’s Scripture, the psalmist says it happens the very day you call for help. In the unseen realm, God begins to change things in your favor. Just because you don’t see anything happening doesn’t mean the answer is not on the way. The people who see breakthroughs and promises fulfilled are the people who keep praying, keep believing, and keep standing in faith.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You never take vacations, that You hear every prayer and see me standing in faith. Thank You that in the unseen realm You have put a miracle in motion for me. I believe and declare that the answer is on the way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts:
Good word, again, for today.   It is really a Good Morning Call each day that these positive messages find their way to my computer.  Of course we all realize that sowing and reaping is strongle happening in our little world as a God Law of the Universe.  The is always motion and balance seemingly in all things.  It may take time for Hally’s Comet to return but return it does.
So the real question for us is not whether GOD is on our side BUT whether we are truly on HIS?  There is so much mis-information about what GOD wants of us.  And it is very difficult to sort the Baby (God Truth) from the bath water.   Much of what we call “Church” today has nothing to do with a New Testament Church as shared in the New Testament source of all truth for us.

We are told to “Tithe” under God’s Law, which is not true.  The New Testament Believer is not under the 10% Old Testament “LAW” but under loving grace to give as per the vision and need.  [Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings. 2 Cor.9:6,    Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving].  2Cor.9:7   So we find no where in the New Testament where tithing is in effect under a law.  If you personally feel to give on that basis it is all up to you and your relationship with the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus as LORD.   God is in the process of training us to be 100% for HIM in HIS great love so HE can bless us now and for eternity.  But he is not going to allow the rebellion of lucifer and Adam to infect HIS universe.
Another issue is the word Church.  We have converted it from God’s meaning into our Traditions and have made the word  ineffective.  If I google the word church it comes up with beautiful traditional buildings.   But in Strong’s Greek Meaning it is the people:  Strong’s Greek: 1577. ἐκκλησία (ekklésia) — an assembly …  https://biblehub.com/greek/1577.htm assembly, church. From a compound of ek and a derivative of kaleo; a calling out, i.e. (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both) — assembly,   Not one word meaning the building.  It was the gathering of the people, two or more.  The Early Church was a forum of interactive people, most likely facing each other in order to be effective as per 1 Cor.14: (Should read whole chapter) 26-33.  I will stop at 33 or will get in trouble otherwise….  But notice in Paul’s understanding of Church it is not a Theater or tradition but an interactive assembly where the fruit, gifts and ministries of the Holy Spirit are free to be expressed through the Holy Spirit.  It is the Holy Spirit who provides the “bulletin” and no one is really sure what is going to happen at any gathering only that Christ Jesus will be there in the gathering as in the Holy Spirit.   Not one word in the whole New Testament about building anything or collecting funds for a building.   Any gifts and offerings were used for evangelism and to help the poor.  When a building is built then the gathering or assemble become concerned about the care of the building.  Sure a building is more comfortable.  But it is difficult to find a building built for GOD being effective for GOD.   One Saturday evening I was responsible for setting all of the chairs in place.  So I elected to place them all (over 200) in a U rather than traditional theater church style seating where you can not see anyone’s face.  You can only see the back of heads… Next morning, all was changed back to Theater.  Theater is safe, keeps everyone quiet.  The show much go on without interruption but there is little or no POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT who is much needed to draw everyone unto Christ Jesus as LORD.  Paul gave a prophesy about our time,  1 Tim.3, It is happening today.  And there are many other traditions that have crept into our gatherings to learn to serve Jesus.

The Israelites had been bound in slavery in Egypt for over four hundred years. All they had seen was injustice, being taken advantage of, mistreated, barely making it. God supernaturally brought them out of Egypt, and they were headed to the Promised Land when He said to them, “The enemies you see today, you will see no more.” That’s what happens when the chain breaker shows up. True freedom.  He was saying to them and to us, “Those things that have held you back for years, you’re not going to see them anymore.” This is a new day of freedom, a new day of wholeness, a new day of increase. Chains are falling off; chains of debt are being broken. Chains of cancer, diabetes, and heart trouble are being loosed. You will no longer see those chains of fear, insecurity, and low self-esteem. The addiction is not going to control you. Why? The chain has been broken.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You have broken the chain of anything that’s trying to hold me back. Thank You that You have so defeated the problem that I’m not even going to see it anymore. I’m going to start living like I am free and experience everything You have for me. In Jesus.

Ken’s Thoughts,
So many things in this world tend to keep us in bondage’s.  Many are even the Religious  Traditions of men used in our churches to keep order when the Holy Spirit may wish to do otherwise.  Some come from unequally yoked marriage unions where one has a strong anointing from God and the other is happy to just be comfortable.  There are non-productive traditions everywhere that I look.  The enemy of our soul tends to keep us in some kinds of emotional or traditional jail (box) if possible.   However with Paul in prison we are now blessed with his teachings in the Holy Spirit.  So Paul was free even while in prison as our LORD’S kingdom is not of this world.  God set Peter free, why not Paul?   The greater ministry came to Paul due to being in prison.   We have very little of what Peter taught.

(The following is from Worthy Briefs today:)
Paul wrote for prayes while even in chains as follows:  Ephesians 6:19-20 and pray for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.  (from Worthy Brief)       For over 20 years we’ve been covering Christian Persecution, and whenever I come across an amazing story of how a saint endured such hardships, it encourages me. I remember reading about Watchman Nee and his imprisonment. The Chinese government would change the guards at his cell daily for fear that Nee would lead them to the Lord. Their fears were justified — many of those guards did come to faith! Apparently Watchman Nee had learned a powerful lesson from the Apostle Paul.  In Paul’s letter to the Church in Ephesus, observe how he describes himself — an ambassador in chains. Locked away in a prison, Paul adamantly refuses to allow his circumstances to dictate or alter his identity. He may be in chains, but he remains the Lord’s ambassador.  Can you imagine Paul chained up in that dungeon, throwing up his hands saying, “That’s it; it’s over; I’m finished!?  Not on your life! Instead, the apostle grows bolder as an ambassador; not intimidated or ashamed, because Paul isn’t chained in his Spirit, he’s only bound in the flesh. Remember how he concludes his letter to the Philippian Church declaring, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  Don’t allow yourself to be defined by your past, or “chained” by your current circumstances. God has also called you to be an ambassador for Him. With so much work to be done, we ought to be growing even bolder, right in the midst of our trials and tribulations!  (This is right on target so I am passing it along to you.  It is from,  worthybrief@worthynetwork.com    (Please forward to your mailing list, Very important.)

Psalm 73,  A psalm of Asaph.    Truly God is good to Israel,     to those whose hearts are pure.
But as for me, I almost lost my footing.     My feet were slipping, and I was almost gone.  For I envied the proud     when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness. They seem to live such painless lives;     their bodies are so healthy and strong.  They don’t have troubles like other people;     they’re not plagued with problems like everyone else. They wear pride like a jeweled necklace and clothe themselves with cruelty. These fat cats have everything their hearts could ever wish for!  They scoff and speak only evil;     in their pride they seek to crush others.

They boast against the very heavens and their words strut throughout the earth. And so the people are dismayed and confused drinking in all their words,  “What does God know?” they ask.   Does the Most High even know what’s happening? Look at these wicked people—    enjoying a life of ease while their riches multiply.  Did I keep my heart pure for nothing?    Did I keep myself innocent for no reason? I get nothing but trouble all day long; every morning brings me pain.  If I had really spoken this way to others,  I would have been a traitor to your people. So I tried to understand why the wicked prosper.    But what a difficult task it is!

Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked. Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction.  In an instant they are destroyed,  completely swept away by terrors. When you arise, O Lord,   you will laugh at their silly ideas as a person laughs at dreams in the morning. Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside. I was so foolish and ignorant—   I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you. Yet I still belong to you;   you hold my right hand.  You guide me with your counsel.    leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you?  I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,   but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever   Those who desert him will perish,    for you destroy those who abandon you.  But as for me, how good it is to be near God!    I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter,  and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.  New Living Translation (NLT)  Also read Eph.4:11-16, John 17 for a good foundation.

I have found that if I just leave a verse location that very few will find their Bible to look it up.  But many will consider the thoughts if easily available.  So find your bondage’s out by using the Word of God. And only then can GOD’S GRACE AND TRUTH REALLY SET YOU FREE.  Our faith in God’s promises in Christ Jesus give us real freedom.

THRONE OF GOD,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”   6/9/20    From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture   (Across my desk today from Texas.)
“…Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice…”
(Psalm 45:6, NLT)

What’s on Your Throne?
When David faced Goliath, he never called him a giant. He called Goliath “an uncircumcised Philistine.” David downplayed his size because he refused to put Goliath on the throne. He kept God on the throne. He said to Goliath, “You come against me with a sword and spear, but I come against you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel.”

You may be facing a giant of a problem. If you’re not careful, you’ll let that problem consume you with worry. The whole time God is in control and already has the solution, but you’ve taken God off the throne and put your problem on the throne. Here’s the key: if God is not on the throne, you’re not giving Him permission. God works where there’s an attitude of faith. You can’t have God and the problem on the throne at the same time. There’s just room for one. Keep God on the throne.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for being on Your throne, for reigning as sovereign over my health, my finances, my family, and my circumstances. Thank You that You are my provider, my healer, my waymaker, my deliverer. The throne of my life is reserved for You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts,
Really, Got to go DEEP with this one today.   But the question might be better stated,   WHO IS ON YOUR SOUL’S THRONE TODAY???   As a Christian the process of being Sanctified by the Holy Spirit is for most of us some what like a bouncing ball.  And for many of the Old Testament Saints it was like that for them as well.  As we read the stories of the O.T. and New we will find that vacillation of good days and bad days.  Three steps forward and 2 steps back.  Abraham, Jacob,  Moses, David, Sampson  and Peter are good examples of failures and victories, In fact it is well documented in Hebrew’s 11 as shared (I feel) and by Apostle Paul,  Rom. 7: So please take the time to read:
HEBREWS:  11:
Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a] the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].  2 For by [faith—[b] trust and holy fervor born of faith] the men of old had divine testimony borne to them and obtained a good report.  3 By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed  (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.  4 [Prompted, actuated] by faith Abel brought God a better and more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, because of which it was testified of him that he was righteous [that he was upright and in right standing with God], and God bore witness by accepting and acknowledging his gifts. And though he died, yet [through the incident] he is still speaking.  5 Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven, so that he did not have a glimpse of death; and he was not found, because God had translated him. …6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].  7 [Prompted] by faith Noah, being forewarned by God concerning events of which as yet there was no visible sign, took heed and diligently and reverently constructed and prepared an ark for the deliverance of his own family…. 8 [Urged on] by faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went forth to a place which he was destined to receive as an inheritance; and he went, although he did not know or trouble his mind about where he was to go… 12 So from one man, though he was physically as good as dead, there have sprung descendants whose number is as the stars of heaven and as countless as the innumerable sands on the seashore.  13 These people all died controlled and sustained by their faith, but not having received the tangible fulfillment of [God’s] promises, only having seen it and greeted it from a great distance by faith, and all the while acknowledging and confessing that they were strangers and temporary residents and exiles upon the earth. … 16 But the truth is that they were yearning for and aspiring to a better and more desirable country, that is, a heavenly [one]. For that reason God is not ashamed to be called their God [even to be surnamed their God—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob], for He has prepared a city for them.  17 By faith Abraham, when he was put to the test [while the testing of his faith was [d] still in progress], [e] and already brought Isaac for an offering; he who had gladly received and welcomed [God’s] promises was ready to sacrifice his only son,  18 Of whom it was said, Through Isaac shall your descendants be reckoned.  19 For he reasoned that God was able to raise [him] up even from among the dead. Indeed in the sense that Isaac was figuratively dead [potentially sacrificed], he did [actually] receive him back from the dead.  20 [With eyes of] faith Isaac, looking far into the future, invoked blessings upon Jacob and Esau.  21 [Prompted] by faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons and bowed in prayer over the top of his staff.  22 [Actuated] by faith Joseph, when …23 [Prompted] by faith Moses, after his birth, was kept concealed for three months by his parents, because they saw how comely the child was; and they were not overawed and terrified by the king’s decree.  24 [Aroused] by faith Moses, when he had grown to maturity and [f] become great, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,  25 Because he preferred to share the oppression [suffer the hardships] and bear the shame of the people of God rather than to have the fleeting enjoyment of a sinful life.  26 He considered the contempt and abuse and shame [borne for] the Christ (the Messiah Who was to come) to be greater wealth than all the treasures of Egypt, for he looked forward and away to the reward (recompense).  27 [Motivated] by faith he left Egypt behind him, being unawed and undismayed by the wrath of the king; for he never flinched but held staunchly to his purpose and endured steadfastly as one who gazed on Him Who is invisible.  39 And all of these, though they won divine approval by [means of] their faith, did not receive the fulfillment of what was promised,40 Because God had us in mind and had something better and greater in view for us, so that they [these heroes and heroines of faith] should not come to perfection apart from us [before we could join them].”    So it is not about how many time you fall down, but about getting up in faith just one more time than you fall down.  God has covered our sins and errors in and through Christ Jesus and after we make Jesus, LORD we need to yeald to the Holy Spirit to  become like HIM by HIS grace and love through faith in HIS promises for our eternity.

GOD’S MEMORY,
“WORTH CONSIDERING” 6/8/20     From Ken <><

Today’s Scripture    (Received in my mail today from a church in Texas.)
“…See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands…”  (Isaiah 49:16, NIV)

You Are Never Forgotten

We all get dropped in life—dropped by an illness, by a divorce, by a friend who turns on you. It’s easy to feel alone and forgotten, as though you don’t matter. But don’t believe those lies and get stuck in that dark place. Every time God opens His hands, He sees your name. He’s reminded of you. You may have had some bad breaks, some closed doors, some people who didn’t do you right, but God hasn’t forgotten about your dreams or the promises He’s given you. He hasn’t forgotten about that baby you’ve been longing to have, that healing, that wholeness, that freedom you need. Stay in faith. Life happens to all of us, and you may get dropped, but remember that it’s only temporary. God sees it. He’s not only going to lift you back up, but He’s going to take you to a higher place of blessing. You’re going to come out better than you were before.

A Prayer for Today

Father, thank You that every time You open Your hands, You see my name. Thank You that You will never forget about me or my dreams or the promises You’ve given me. I believe that You are lifting me up and taking me to a higher place of blessing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,
Of course we have to be sure to view the context of a scripture to know if it is applicable to us personally.  I have often reminded my readers that Content without Context is Pretext.  the above scripture Isa. 49:16 could be personal to Isaiah, not that it could not be also personal to us but it would need to be confirmed to us personally.  So view the context of Isa.49:16:

13 Sing for joy, O heavens, and be joyful, O earth, and break forth into singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people and will have compassion upon His afflicted.  14 But Zion [Jerusalem, her people as seen in captivity] said, The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.  15 [And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you.  16 Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me.    Rev. 3:20 ?

In the Old Testament Zion was the eastern most of the two hills of ancient Jerusalem and often means the city rather than the hill.  And also means the Land of Israel.  But in this scripture there also seems an understanding that the reference is for the potential Children of God to remember that they can not be forgotten.  However the souls are seen as afflicted and in captivity and accusing God as to have left them.  So to the issue, we are much to busy to learn to talk to God, or that God has somehow abandoned us.  Of course the context of this scripture is, that it is not God who has left us, but we who have left God.   Jesus with much concern and emotions had this to say:   (Talking to the most religious master’s of HIS day.)
32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ sins to the brim [so [k] that nothing may be wanting to a full measure].  33 You serpents! You spawn of vipers! How can you escape the [l] penalty to be suffered in hell (Gehenna)?  34 Because of this, take notice: I am sending you prophets and wise men (interpreters and teachers) and scribes (men learned in the Mosaic Law and the Prophets); some of them you will kill, even crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and pursue and persecute from town to town,  35 So that upon your heads may come all the blood of the righteous ([m] those who correspond to the divine standard of right) shed on earth, from the blood of the righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar [of burnt offering].  36 Truly I declare to you, all these [[n] evil, calamitous times] will come upon this generation.  37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, murdering the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a mother fowl gathers her brood under her wings, and you refused!  38 Behold, your house is forsaken and desolate (abandoned and left destitute of God’s help).

39 For I declare to you, you will not see Me again until you say, Blessed (magnified in worship, adored, and exalted) is He Who comes in the name of the Lord!    Luke 13:33-35 Nevertheless, I must continue on My way today and tomorrow and the day after that—for it will never do for a prophet to be destroyed away from Jerusalem!  34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who continue to kill the prophets and to stone those who are sent to you! How often I have desired and yearned to gather your children together [around Me], as a hen [gathers] her young under her wings, but you would not!  35 Behold, your house is forsaken (abandoned, left to you destitute of God’s help)! And I tell you, you will not see Me again until the time comes when you shall say, Blessed (to be celebrated with praises) is He Who comes in the name of the Lord!  Luke 13:33-35.

Of course the is another option:    John 3:14-18 if anyone will listen and believe.     John 3:14-18
And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert [on a pole], so must [so it is necessary that] the Son of Man be lifted up [on the cross],  15 In order that everyone who believes in Him [who cleaves to Him, trusts Him, and relies on Him] may [a] not perish, but have eternal life and [actually] live forever!  16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([b] unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.  17 For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.  18 He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation—he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ’s name.]

LOVED DEARLY,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”   6/5/20   From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture      (Across my desk from Texas this morning.)
“…Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick…”
(John 11:3, NKJV)

Recognize His Love for You
It’s interesting that when Mary and Martha sent a message to Jesus asking Him to come and pray for Lazarus, they didn’t say, “Jesus, please come. You know how much Lazarus loves You.” Instead, the message was, “Jesus, the one whom You love is sick.” They didn’t tell Jesus how much Lazarus loved Him. They thought it would be more persuasive to remind Jesus about how much He loved Lazarus.  Sometimes we’re trying to convince God that we love Him. “God, I attended church last week. Would You please help me now?” Why don’t you do as Mary and Martha did and say, “Lord, the one whom You love needs healing. The one whom You love is hurting.” What moves God is not just your love for Him, but recognizing His love for you. It pleases God when you know you are dearly loved. That’s why the Scripture says, “Come boldly to the throne.” Don’t go to Him feeling unworthy.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that I am dearly loved by You, and that is all that really matters. Thank You that You don’t require that I be religious enough or good enough to earn Your love. I recognize Your great love today and come to Your throne boldly with my praise. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,
You know how that word love is bantered around these days.  My mother was a Hollywood hair stylist for a lot of well know people, Elvis, Frank, Gregory, Sally and such and would often take me onto the sets as a teenager while making movies.  One of the premium words on the set was love, every things was about love with a mushy lying Hollywood definition.      Sometime back I asked the Holy Spirit for HIS definition of love.  And these words came to my heart, “Love, is the highest good for the other person regardless of personal cost.”  This, definition, also includes pruning and spankings and reaping of what was sown.  It is not plastic.  And from God’s point of view with even perfect understanding of our Adamic Carnal Nature HE really loves us as the best of HIS creation.  And this is in spite of the stink and mud that we have been born into by the decisions of those before us and our own decisions.  He still sees the potential in us to become HIS children, in Christ Jesus in spite of being born the children of Adam and lucifer.

The whole Bible is a Love Story of our Creator’s great love for us and giving us the ultimate example of HIS love in our potential redemption.  In Hollywood it was pure hypocrisy but in God it is pure TRUTH.  So our prime potential on earth is by God’s Grace to dump the lies of lucifer and Adam.  To be confirmed in the Great and Precious Promises of God’s LOVE and really go for it.  Go for it 100%, not even need postcards from the carnal nature we received from Adam.  If we try to walk in the lies of Adam and of this world we will never learn to truly Love God, ourselves or anyone else.  It is easy to see what those lies are by just considering, “What would Jesus Do?”  There is a character study, a positive character study of Jesus, I am attaching it to this blog for you to make a report card for yourself to see how you are doing.  OK now for some scripture for those who are really “born from above” by heart faith.  So let’s start with 1 John 4:15-27   “ Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he [abides, lives, makes his home] in God.  16 And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him.  17 In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world.  18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love [a] turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear [b] brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].  19 We love Him, because He first loved us.  20 If anyone says, I love God, and hates (detests, abominates) his brother [[c] in Christ], he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, Whom he has not seen.  21 And this command (charge, order, injunction) we have from Him: that he who loves God shall love his brother [[d] believer] also.    So you see, our Heavenly Father, for those who will allow it, still has a purpose and vision to make us into HIS Image and Likeness like Jesus.  Jesus was the first of this new creation.  We are invited to put on Christ Jesus.   To allow HIM, Christ Jesus, to really become our LORD as well as Savior.   As a living soul we have the opportunity to say no to Adam, the world the flesh and the devil.   To say no to the lusts of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life.  We have a golden invitations to allow ourselves to be changed to become like our creator and to live with HIM for eternity if we want to.  During this life time the door has been made wide open by Christ Jesus.  But the opportunity ceases upon the end of our life.  And we will continue in eternity either in God’s loving light or as Jude puts it, “become wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.”  Jude 13.  Jesus shared it this way, “16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([d] unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ’s name.]  19 The [basis of the] judgment (indictment, the test by which men are judged, the ground for the sentence) lies in this: the Light has come into the world, and people have loved the darkness rather than and more than the Light, for their works (deeds) were evil.

BLESSINGS & PRAISE,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”   6/4/20    from Ken<><

Today’s Scripture   (Across my desk this morning from Texas.)
“…the voice of those…who will bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,” says the LORD…”   (Jer. 33:11

Turn Up the Praise
In today’s Scripture God was saying to His people, who had been taken into captivity in Babylon, that when you thank Him even though you don’t see anything good happening, when you offer up the sacrifice of praise, God is going to reverse negative situations and restore what’s been stolen. When you don’t see how it can work out, but you go through the day saying, “Father, thank You that the answer is on the way; thank You that this problem is turning around,” get ready because God is going to reverse and restore. He’s going to reverse finances that are down, reverse a bad health report, reverse a legal matter, and He’s even going to restore what should have been yours. He’s going to restore years that you’ve lost because somebody did you wrong. He’s going to restore a relationship that’s on the rocks, restore health back to your body. It’s going to happen because of your praise, so turn it up!

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You are bigger than any difficulty I will ever face. You are the Creator of the universe, and I offer You a sacrifice of praise and the deepest worship of my heart. I believe that You will reverse and restore what should have been mine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts:
I can say in all honesty, I have experienced this.  Three times in my life I have suffered great losses financially.  After one major loss I can remember crying out to God on my way, far up on the mountain, to do finish work for $100. per day so I could pay for my gas and food for my family in a beat up old Ford Ranger.   And yet, the Lord has managed to restore more than what I had lost over time so now looking back it is only a small scar among many.  Of course all of the losses were of my own doing in listening to my fear or pride or others in making decisions and not by listening to the Holy Spirit.  But there were and are Keys To The Kingdom that really work even though we tend to ignore them or forget them or just don’t care about considering them.  They are hidden all the way through the Holy Bible but are obvious if seeking.  There are conditions of Heart Faith, humility & obedience and other issues that we with God’s Grace must address in order to have HIS Blessings.  He always loves us but blessings come through knowing HIM and keeping HIS commandments.  So let’s get into HIS WORD for a bit and perhaps learn some KEYS.  Remember, however, that keys only work if they are put in a matching slot to unlock a door or something and are used.  Personally I still have a bunch of metal keys that I have no idea what they go to and so are worthless unless I find where they go.  But not ready to throw them away.    My book, “Keys To the Kingdom” www.Trinity-Aloha.org  would be good to digest if interested in God’s Keys to Blessings.   Jesus shares some keys in Matt.

8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.  9 Or what man is there of you, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone?  10 Or if he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent?  11 If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and [a] advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and [b] advantageous things to those who [c] keep on asking Him!  12 So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets. Matt.7:9-12 (So Ask, but the KEY is in verse 12 in doing unto others as you would have others do to you.  (Before Honor is Humility,  Kingdom Law.   To keep on asking takes loving heart faith.)  James, son of Mary and Joseph who grew up with Jesus as this to share with us.   “2 You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your desires go unfulfilled; [so] you become murderers. [To hate is to murder as far as your hearts are concerned.] You burn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain [the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek], so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do not ask.  3 [Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is [when you get what you desire] to spend it in sensual pleasures.  4 You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world’s friend is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God.  James 4:2-4     The Bible is full of scriptures like this one that are normally totally ignored.  Before Honor is HUMILITY but pride goes before a great fall.  How good is your blessing hearing?   Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org

There is but one universal Church of Christ Jesus for now and eternity:
And all who Truly Love, Honor and Obey HIM are members.

Wycliffe Associates, an international organization that empowers mother-tongue Bible translators and partners with local churches in the advancement of Bible translation, reports that Bible translators and their families in remote and poverty-stricken areas are facing starvation due to food shortages resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.   worthybrief@worthynetwork.com

1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.  “On Sunday, believers arrived at a house church in the Soviet Union in small groups throughout the day so as not to arouse the suspicion of KGB informers. They began by singing a hymn quietly. Suddenly, in walked two soldiers with loaded weapons at the ready.  One shouted, “If you wish to renounce your commitment to Jesus Christ, leave now!” Two or three quickly left, then another. After a few more seconds, two more. “This is your last chance. Either turn against your faith in Christ,” he ordered, “or stay and suffer the consequences.”  Two more slipped out into the night. No one else moved. Parents with children trembling beside them looked down reassuringly, fully expecting to be gunned down or imprisoned. The other soldier closed the door, looked back at those who stood against the wall, and said, “Keep your hands up–but this time in praise to our Lord Jesus Christ. We, too, are Christians. We were sent to another house church several weeks ago to arrest a group of believers.” The other soldier interrupted, “But, instead, we were converted! We have learned by experience, however, that unless people are willing to die for their faith, they cannot be fully trusted.”   (From “Living Above the Level of Mediocrity,” by Chuck Swindoll).
