Today’s Scripture
“…But you, LORD, sit enthroned forever; your renown endures through all generations. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come…” (Psalm 102:12–13, NIV)

Your Set Time
In the first eleven verses of Psalm 102, the psalmist goes into great detail listing all his troubles, telling how miserable he is. Just when you think he’s ready to give up, he wrote today’s Scripture. In the midst of his sad song, he recognized that God was still on the throne, and he knew there was a set time for favor in his future. God was saying to His people, “Don’t worry, things are about to change. You’ve come into your set time of favor. I will arise and have compassion.” In your set time of favor, God will step in against your enemies and scatter them. When He arises, sickness will be defeated, addictions will be broken, and lack, poverty, and struggle will come to an end. He’s going before you clearing the path where you couldn’t go before, pushing back the forces of darkness. The enemies you’ve seen in the past you will see no more. It’s your set time for freedom, for wholeness.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You are enthroned forever, and You have set this time of favor for me. Thank You that You are giving me power to do what I couldn’t do. I believe You are fighting my battles, preparing the way for me to step up to the next level. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,
So here it seems that the Palmist is sharing God’s time of ultimate compassion on Zion.  One of the small mountains on where Jerusalem is established..  Also to mean the Children of Israel.  So for me this is a prophesy concerning the 1,000 year millennium Kingdom of Christ Jesus on Earth after the Seven Years of the Great Tribulation.  Not really a personal prophesy at all.  And it is in being careful about context that helps us really understand the Holy Bible for faith, practice and doctrine.  We are taught by the Holy Bible to not get caught up in what others say that the Bible says.   Our libraries and Churches today are filled with books and traditions that make the Truth of God, ineffective and powerless.  We tend to try to support our experience in the pride of believing we are OK as we are before God.  He does accept and love us as the children of Adam but then also has a vision for us for our conversion to step up to the plate of faith and become like Jesus.  John 3:14-18.

.”Where there is no vision the people perish” [Proverbs 29:18]. Has the Lord given you a vision? Has He given you an assignment to accomplish? Now is the time to find and lay hold of HIS vision for you and to fulfill your calling. It may not happen as you planned or expected…but be confident of this fact…that your work in the Lord is not in vain as guided by the Holy Spirit!

So are we to settle for what the Lord has already accomplished?  It’s always nice to be reminded of how God has already used us – but we must never lose sight of what He still wants to do with us in the future, and how He may want to build upon what He has already done in the past. So renew your vision of His will in humility and obedience and faith  for your life, for your future, – and walk it out…  God does have a plan and a purpose for our creation, each and every one of us.  And there is Joy and fulfillment in the vision of God.   We have been invited to be Jr. Partners with our Creator in the Building of the Kingdom of God.  First we are experiencing the confusion and chaos of Adam’s pride and rebellion and learning how to gain the victory over our carnal nature that we inherited from Adam.  Only with us instead of having a garden ful of good stuff to eat with one NO! Tree.  Adam has made the world full of NO! Trees and now we have only one YES! Tree,   The Cross of Christ Jesus.  In Adam the whole human race was sold into sin but in Christ Jesus we are all invited to learn to walk in Christ Jesus as LORD and gain the victory over sin.  Jesus taught it this way:

“ I am the Bread of Life [that gives life—the Living Bread].  49 Your forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and [yet] they died.  50 [But] this is the Bread that comes down from heaven, so that [any]one may eat of it and never die.  51 I [Myself] am this Living Bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever; and also the Bread that I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh (body).  52 Then the Jews angrily contended with one another, saying, How is He able to give us His flesh to eat?  53 And Jesus said to them, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, you cannot have any life in you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood [unless you appropriate His life and the saving merit of His blood]. 54 He who feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood has (possesses now) eternal life, and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day.55 For My flesh is true and genuine food, and My blood is true and genuine drink.  56 He who feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood dwells continually in Me, and I [in like manner dwell continually] in him.  57 Just as the living Father sent Me and I live by (through, because of) the Father, even so whoever continues to feed on Me [whoever takes Me for his food and is nourished by Me] shall [in his turn] live through and because of Me.  58 This is the Bread that came down from heaven. It is not like the manna which our forefathers ate, and yet died; he who takes this Bread for his food shall live forever.  John 6:48-58.    “Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!  38 He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.  39 But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor). “ Jn. 7:37-39.    “Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread and, [b] praising God, gave thanks and asked Him to bless it to their use, and when He had broken it, He gave it to the disciples and said, Take, eat; this is My body.  27 And He took a cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, Drink of it, all of you;  28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which [[c] ratifies the agreement and] is [d] being poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” Matt. 26:26-28

So due to Adam’s ingesting the forbidden fruit in the Garden with death following.  We now need to ingest Christ Jesus to have that eternal life with GOD restored.  This means to totally put on Christ Jesus, To become like HIM in all that we do and all that we say.  NO HYPOCRISY !
Obviously we need GOD’S Loving Grace and a very strong Bible based faith to do this.

Rush Notes:   (Personally, I feel, He has a good point to make.)    “Worth Considering” 
Americans are living through uncertain times.  Many are wondering what the end game is.  And they got a terrible clue when Rush Limbaugh dropped this big bombshell about what is to happen next.  When the protests erupted after four Minneapolis police officers allegedly murdered George Floyd, many Americans assumed the demonstrators were in the streets demanding change in police tactics.  But as the protests turned to riots and the demonstrations dragged on for weeks, many in the public wondered what the end goal of the Black Lives Matter political movement really was.

A caller asked Rush Limbaugh if America was headed for an implosion due to domestic political unrest fomented by the left.  Limbaugh admitted that may be a possibility, but he differed on the cause.  In his telling, Limbaugh explained that Black Lives Matter and other leftist agitators were not leading a political rebellion, but instead waging a cultural revolution.  “Possibly, but I don’t think it’s imminent. I think it looks like it is. The reason I don’t think it’s gonna happen is because what we’re up against is not really a political revolution. I know this is gonna be like a fine-line differentiation. We’re up against a cultural revolution here. And these things all end because they eat each other. They end up subsuming themselves. Now, not to say that they’re not gonna have a long-lasting impact on things, but the longer they go on, the more people they repulse,”

The caller added that when he was active duty military, he thought the biggest threat America faced was from a foreign enemy.  But now the caller realized the greatest danger posed to the nation came from a radicalized political left trying to tear the nation apart.  Rush agreed completely and noted the communist influence on the Black Lives Matter movement.  “Well, you’re right. That is the primary — but, you know, this falling from within is still external. It’s all the result of communist influence — Russia, Soviet Union, ChiCom. I mean, that’s where all this is. We’re up against communism. You can call it Black Lives Matter. You can call it whatever some of their favorite little pet names of their organizations are, Occupy Wall Street. We are up against communism. We’re up against Marxist theory that we are seeing be implemented and approved of and sponsored by a political party, the Democrat Party,” Limbaugh added.  And there are elements of Marxist philosophy embedded in the Black Lives Matter political movement.  Like the communists, Black Lives Matter openly states its goal is to “disrupt” the traditional nuclear family.  Black Lives Matter also seeks to impose massive wealth redistribution schemes by forcing the government to pay reparations for slavery.  In George Orwell’s “1984,” “the Party” enforced discipline by turning children into the “League of Junior Spies” to rat out their parents for supposed “thought crime.”  Learn more about Revenue Stripe…   Americans are now seeing videos go viral on social media of children denouncing their parents for not sufficiently supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.  And in 1975 when the Khmer Rouge took over Cambodia, they imposed a “year zero” calendar by erasing all history that came before their murderous government seized power.  A similar campaign is being waged in America as Black Lives Matter activists first demanded the removal of Confederate monuments and have now moved on to tearing down statues of Francis Scott Key, Ulysses S. Don’t place God in a box — but recognize that God is calling you to live outside the box! Your life before you were born again was a “mortal” life, but having crossed over, you’re now called to live a supernatural life! So live it — because your life is an inheritance directly from your Heavenly Father!  While we live in these mortal bodies, we’re called to do extraordinary things in this life! We have a Spiritual Father sitting on the throne who wants to give us wisdom from above. He wants to give us “peace that passes all understanding.” And He’s calling us to live a life outside this natural realm — a life worthy of a “King and a Priest” of the Most High.

An infectious diseases specialist in Italy has said he believes the COVID-19 virus has weakened and may disappear by itself without a vaccine, Fox News reported Monday. Dr Matteo Bassetti, head of the infectious diseases clinic at San Martino hospital in Genoa, said the virus weakening may be caused by genetic mutations resulting from lockdown and social distancing measures.
A new survey of undergraduate college students found that 94% of Democrat responders support defunding of police (i.e. cutting police budgets to fund other community resources) while only 13% of Republican students do, The College Fix reported. The poll also found that a majority of Democrat responders believe rioting and looting are legitimate forms of protest against racial injustice and police brutality while almost all Republican responders believe they are not.  An Iranian Christian rights activist who was jailed for protesting against Iran’s Islamic government says more than a dozen Christians remain behind bars in the country’s overcrowded prisons.  Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi on Sunday said Iran is now the most dangerous country in the Middle East, not just because of its nuclear program, but also through its conventional weapons and support for terror activities against Israel.

When God is Silent
Sometimes when we’re being tested by discouragement, it seems God is silent. We pray and don’t hear anything. We read the Scripture and still come away feeling as though God is a million miles away. It’s easy to think something must be wrong. But remember, this is a test. You have to pass the test of being faithful where you are. Keep stretching, praying, and believing. The next step is coming—an increase step, a favor step, a healing step, a breakthrough step.  When God is silent, don’t assume He’s left you or is mad at you. He is right there with you during the test. His silence is a sign that He has great confidence in you and He has prepared you, and now He is watching to see if you have learned. He knows you will come through the test victoriously or He would not have permitted you to be tested. Keep being your best with what you have.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for the good plan You have for my life. Even when I don’t understand things, I choose to put my hope and trust in You. Help me to live in Your joy and pass the discouragement test when You seem to be silent. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,
This teaching reminded me of the ultimate testing for Christ Jesus when death was at the door and HE cried out “Father, Father!! Why have you left me alone???”  We often think of Jesus as some kind of a super man and not like us at all.  But in every way HE was tested as we are, yet without sin.  In fact in Hebrews it mentions that HE even learned obedience by the things (temptations) that HE suffered.  Now how can any one learn obedience through suffering.  Well I took that to the LORD and what I felt came back is: “Every time you have victory in being obedient you learn to be more obedient.  So in Jesus deciding very young to be obedient even when suffering through doing that which was right but was uncomfortable to do, it made him stronger.  Of course the ultimate in HIS obedience was in HIS prayer before being bound on the Mount of Olives.  And HE prayed, “And going a little farther, He threw Himself upon the ground on His face and prayed saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will [not what I desire], but as You will and desire.”  Matt. 26:39  

So this brings up an interesting question.   How is your learning obedience through suffering going?  Of course the Holy Spirit is our instructor and will guide us through the Word of God as to the Commandments of Christ Jesus for serious testing.  The Holy Spirit has been busy setting up Godly authority from the cradle to the grave.  But then we have been making adjustments in order to avoid the intrusion of Godly Authority and know very little concerning real Godly authority in our theater churches today.  The little church across the street from us told me very carefully that they used a “progressive” interpretation of the Bible.   In other words they used scissors for the parts of the Bible that they disagreed with.  And as a result of private or personal interpretation of Holy Scripture today we see very little of the confirming power of the Holy Spirit as per Paul’s Prophesy to Timothy, 1 Tim.3 and concerning our Laodicean Church of today as noted in Prophesy by Christ Jesus in Rev.3:12-22 where Jesus is knocking on the outside of the door to be invited into HIS own church.   The theater and early Roman church tradition infusion of traditions have made the Word of God mostly ineffective in most of our traditions of today.  And neither do we find the Book of Acts continuing today.  Seems like obedience testing has been totally replaced with a blanket of we are OK as we are.  After all God is Love.  So let’s just love one another and say good things and be polite and not cause any ripples or testing.  Actually Jesus was very clear, “No prunning, No fruit.”  No dying to this world, no gathering to the Kingdom. “ I write to you, fathers, because you have come to know (recognize, be conscious of, and understand) Him Who [has existed] from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong and vigorous, and the Word of God is [always] abiding in you (in your hearts), and you have been victorious over the wicked one.  15 Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.  16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].” 1 Jn.2:14-16.

Learning Ground:
It was that the children who were born in Israel and went to school who learned Hebrew first — and since, of course, the adults didn’t know Hebrew, it was the children who taught their parents.  There is a profound example in Ben-Yehuda’s inspiring act of faith — for as Yeshua said, “Unless you are changed and become like little children you cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” If you want to speak the language of Heaven, you must learn it as a child would learn! Little children are open, receptive, hungry to learn, believing, humble, and lighthearted. According to Yeshua (Jesus), these qualities are necessary for entry into our Lord’s realm.

Iceland’s meteorological service IMO said Monday that 3,000 tremors had been registered on the northern coast of the country.   The sunny, blue skies of the Caribbean were shrouded in dust on Monday as a dense plume of Saharan dust that experts say hasn’t been seen in half a century moved into the region as it makes its way towards the U.S.  Praying and marching against racism Friday, thousands of Christians took part in the “March on Atlanta” event organized by One Race Movement, a Christian coalition aiming to “displace the spirit of racism and release racial reconciliation,” The Christian Post reported. Participants also prayed in support of the Atlanta Police Department which is reeling from nationwide rage against law enforcement following the police killings of George Floyd in Minneapolis and Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta itself.  The streets of Minneapolis where George Floyd was killed are being used by God to save those searching for hope and healing.  (“But then Law came in, [only] to expand and increase the trespass [making it more apparent and exciting opposition]. But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God’s unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased the more and super abounded,…” Rom.5:20)

Today’s Scripture     (Across my desk this morning from Texas.)
“…When the LORD saw that Leah was not loved, he enabled her to conceive, but Rachel remained childless…”  (Genesis 29:31, NIV)

You’re Going to Shine
In today’s Scripture Leah and her sister, Rachel, were both married to Jacob. Rachel was more beautiful, so Jacob didn’t give Leah much time and attention. I’m sure she felt like she was inferior, at a disadvantage, not good enough. That doesn’t go unnoticed. God sees every injustice, every wrong, every tear. Leah went on to have four sons before Rachel had one. Having a son in those days was a big deal. God was saying, “Leah, I’m giving you sons who’ll cause Jacob to notice you.”

You may feel like someone else got all the good breaks, good childhood, good looks, good personality. Don’t worry, your time is coming. God has some advantages for you that will cause you to stand out. You’re not going to always live in the shadow of somebody more talented, more beautiful, more successful. God’s going to cause you to shine. You’re going to excel, you’re going to be known, you’re going to leave your mark.

A Prayer for Today

Father, thank You that nothing that has happened to me has gone unnoticed by You. Thank You that You take it personally, and You go to work to make things right. I believe that as I honor You and put You first that You will cause me to shine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,

The story of Jacob is rather like a soap opera…  But Jacob was loved of God even before he was born because of his ultimate  faith.  And this rascal, as was born, took a lot of training.  He was a  rip off artist, a mommies boy and full of tricks.  So read from Gen.25:27 about Jacob to get a good foundation.  The go on to Laban Gen. 28:2 about his trickster uncle who exchanged Leah for Rachel after 7 years that Jacob had worked to buy Rachel…  (Laban hiding behind a law that he had neglected to share earlier.)  So Jacob the trickster has been tricked by Leah and her father and begins to take it out on Leah but then Leah gives him 4 of his 12 sons really early.  So happy family, not.  As Esau was still hot about being ripped of of his birth right to Jacob.  But in the end Jacob comes through, makes up with Esau and has 12 sons who become the nation of Israel.  Wrestles with the Messenger of God and is blessed of God.    And with this whole story comes Apostle Paul sharing in Rom. 9:12-14 “12 It was said to her that the elder [son] should serve the younger [son].  13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated (held in [a]relative disregard in comparison with My feeling for Jacob).  14 What shall we conclude then? Is there injustice upon God’s part? Certainly not!

So actually,  in the absolute foreknowledge of GOD,  it was not at all a surprise for GOD.  As from God’s dimension in eternity HE already knew where Jacob would land and loved Jacob for the man that he would become even before it happened .  In fact.  Like an architect being able to see a building from the plans prior to being built or Mozart being able to hear a melody prior to writing it down on paper so to played later.  So the real truth to take away from this story is that God deeply loves us in HIS faith of what we will become as we will learn to trust HIM.  For with Jacob the 1st born birthright was, BY FAITH, very precious to him.   But to his brother Esau it meant nothing, he could care less.  So in fact Easu sold his birth right for a bowl of stew when he was hungry.   Of course the birthright was as a gift from GOD.  Jacob believed it, but Esau did  not.  Then of the 12 sons of Jacob come with a Joseph and the saga continues till we get Christ Jesus.

So what ever “mark” you are going to make to be worth while you will need to send ahead because we can take nothing of this world with us.  If you take anything into God’s dimension of eternity at all,  it will be the love of those who’s lives have been touched by Christ Jesus through you.  Jesus was very clear in teaching us that our eternal family and our temporal family were not the same.  Matt. 12:46 “Jesus was still speaking to the people when behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to Him.47 [a] Someone said to Him, Listen! Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to You.  48 But He replied to the man who told Him, Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?  49 And stretching out His hand toward [not only the twelve disciples but all] [b] His adherents, He said, Here are My mother and My   brothers.  50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother!”  So in tune with Romans 8, our new family is the family of GOD in righteousness and light.  And the only things we can send ahead are works that support the Kingdom of God.  WE are here on earth to lean to be the light on the hill to try to draw all who will to Christ Jesus as LORD.  The Holy Spirit wants to make us HOLY and to use us to draw all to Jesus who will come.  And those who come will be our very close and eternal family in the Kingdom of God.

Elections 2020
Don’t get dismayed by this very destructive political election this year.  It is simple a clear battle between Constitutional Freedoms under God or the deception of Socialist slavery under atheism. So it is really a fight as to who will appoint the next Supreme Court Justice as to which direction the nation will then go for many years.  Seems we are very close to the point of no return.  Our schools and our government have already become mostly atheistic and morally bankrupt for many years now.   We are nationally experiencing that destructive fallout now.      Ken<><

Local Christians have been reaching out to share the Gospel and offer practical help to neighbors struggling with poverty during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Religious freedom group Open Doors USA has been told that Christians in Iran are risking their lives to help fellow citizens with food and hygiene parcels during the coronavirus outbreak, Fox News reported Thursday. Known internationally for its radical Islamic terrorism, Iran is the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Middle East.

“…How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world…”  (Ps. 31:19, NLT)

How Great is His Goodness
King David said, “What would have happened to me if I had not believed to see the goodness of God?” I wonder how many blessings we’re missing out on, how much favor, how much increase we’re not seeing simply because we’re not expecting it. We’re not releasing our faith.

Right now there are blessings that have your name on them. There is promotion stored up, healing stored up, vindication stored up, a house stored up. God has already destined them to be yours. But if you think, I’ll never get married. I’ll never pay my house off. I’ve made too many mistakes. God would never bless me, that is going to keep you from God’s best. Why don’t you try a different approach and say, “God, I believe You have some surprises in my future. I believe I’ll see Your goodness in a new way.” When you live with this expectancy, that’s when God will give you something to talk about.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for Your goodness and the many blessings You have stored up for me. Thank You that when I keep You first place and honor You that blessings will chase me down and overtake me. I believe You have some surprises in my future. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,
Actually, we usually blame God for our reaping of the flesh.  We do rebellious and stupid stuff and have a bad outcome eventually and wonder why God did not fix it.  We tend to totally forget God until we get into trouble in the negative use of our own freewill.  And then with tears go to God to fix the mess that we made.  There is an immutable cosmic law of what we sow, we reap.  I have had young ladies come to me in total repentance for getting pregnant and as yet have never seen the child disappear.  I got married at 22 before I became a Christian and made Jesus LORD.  It was the wrong thing to do, took 17 years to finally get most of the weeds pulled from what I had sowed.  So God’s Love and Grace is eternal but we do have a freewill that needs to be trained to know good from bad and we need God’s Grace to help us when we choose humility and obedience over pride and rebellion. 

So God’s Goodness and Grace is our experience when we learn to start making righteous decisions.  And some of the weeds we allowed to be planted when we were Adams kids may take a long time to pull.  Paul even alluded to the need to die to the world, flesh and devil every day in 1 Cor.15:31 “I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.”  And again in Romans 8:5-16 “ 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.  12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.  13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify (put to death) the deeds of the body, ye shall live.  14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”    So every day in order to stay under God’s Grace in humility and obedience we must die to the lusts of the flesh, lusts of the eyes and pride of life each and every day of our lives.  This is really what it means to make Christ Jesus, LORD!  But it is to grow up in HIM in all things, a process.

Horatio Gates Spafford was a 43-year-old Chicago Businessman who suffered financial disaster in the great Chicago fire of 1871. He and his wife, still grieving the death of their son who had died shortly before the fire, were in great need of a retreat, and decided to take their remaining children to England for a vacation. So Spafford arranged to send his wife and four daughters ahead of him on the SS Ville du Havre. He planned to follow in a few days.  During the voyage on the Atlantic Ocean, the Ville du Havre was struck by an iron sailing vessel and sank within 12 minutes. Two hundred twenty-six lives were lost – including the Spafford’s four daughters. When the survivors were brought to shore at Cardiff, Wales, Mrs. Spafford cabled her husband two words: “Saved alone.” Spafford booked passage on the next ship. As they were crossing the Atlantic the captain pointed out the place where he thought the Ville du Havre had gone down. That night, Spafford penned the following words: Spafford lost his business and his children but found comfort in His savior.

Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say;  It is well, it is well with my soul.

The UK’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) has announced a “major breakthrough” in the treatment of patients who are seriously ill with COVID-19. On Twitter Tuesday the NIHR said a RECOVERY trial it supported showed that the steroid dexamethasone “significantly reduces” the risk of dying for coronavirus patients requiring respiratory intervention.   The U.S. Supreme Court blocked President Trump from ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, which shields from deportation hundreds of thousands of immigrant children who were brought to the United States illegally.  The Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) announced on Wednesday that a San Francisco area federal court ruled that churches have no place in the dynamic downtown area of one northern California city.

Today’s Scripture   (Across my desk this morning from Texas.)
“…Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own…”  (Proverbs 3:5, MSG)

The “I Don’t Understand It” File
Sometimes it’s best to leave things alone. As long as you’re probing around your hurts and disappointments, trying to figure out why something happened, you’re never going to heal. You have to let it go and say, “God, I don’t understand it, but I’m not going to keep trying to figure it out. I know that You wouldn’t allow it if You couldn’t bring good out of it, so I’m going to leave it with You.”   We should have a file in our thinking called “I Don’t Understand It.” When things come up that don’t make sense and you can’t find an answer, instead of trying to figure it out, getting confused and frustrated, just put it in your “I Don’t Understand It” file and move forward. If you make the mistake of going through life trying to figure out why something bad happened, why something didn’t work out, why your prayer wasn’t answered, that’s going to poison your life.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that I can be free from trying to figure everything out on my own. I recognize that You wouldn’t allow it in my life if You couldn’t bring good out of it. I will place these matters in my “I Don’t Understand It” file and move forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts:
There is going to always be someone who is going to quote, “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” as found in Matt.7:1-3 of course the context is required to really know what Jesus is teaching about. ”Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?’  So in context HE is not saying not to judge but to be objective, valid and righteous in your judgment.  To not be into condemnation in your judgment but to be loving and fair in listening to all of the fact and witnesses of the matter prior to making a judgment.  And in John 12:47-49 it is very clear that negative judgment is preserved for the last days.  “And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.”   So with any judgement that we make it should be for the purpose of restoration and encouragement.  Paul shares this in Romans 2:2-4: “But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. 3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? 4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”   So any judgement that we feel to make should ultimately try to lead to repentance.   And not to just vent our anger or frustrations.  The whole chapter of 1 Cor.6:(especially1-3) is an instruction on how the church (people) should enter into judgment.  “Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? 2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?”  (Should read the whole chapter.)

In Matt.18   Matthew records the following words of Christ Jesus: “If your brother wrongs you, go and show him his fault, between you and him privately. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two others, so that every word may be confirmed and upheld by the testimony of two or three witnesses.  17 If he pays no attention to them [refusing to listen and obey], tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a pagan and a tax collector.  18 Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be [e] what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be [f] what is already permitted in heaven.  19 Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and [g] everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven.  20 For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I Am in the midst of them.

So pure anointed Judgement is based upon GOD’S truth for loving unity and reconciliation if at all possible.  Divisions should be seen as opportunities for finding GOD’S TRUTH in LOVE that will give us more freedom and power  in the HOLY SPIRIT to serve our LORD.  And this also includes those who are Married:   1 Pet.3:6-8, “6 It was thus that Sarah obeyed Abraham [following his guidance and acknowledging his headship over her by] calling him lord (master, leader, authority). And you are now her true daughters if you do right and let nothing terrify you [not giving way to hysterical fears or letting anxieties unnerve you].  7 In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an [c] intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God’s unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.]  8 Finally, all [of you] should be of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing [with one another], loving [each other] as brethren [of one household], compassionate and courteous (tenderhearted and humble).

“…Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things…”  (1 Chronicles 29:11, NLT)

Talk about His Greatness

Many people spend a lot of time talking about and reliving their past mistakes and hurts. Here’s the problem. You’re remembering the wrong things. Nowhere in the Scripture are we told to remember our defeats, failures, or bad breaks. It’s time to quit thinking and talking about it. All that it’s doing is depressing you.  David says in Psalm 34, “Let all who are discouraged take heart.” He goes on to tell us how to do it. “Come, let’s talk about God’s greatness. I prayed and the Lord answered me.” He was saying, “When you’re discouraged, when you don’t see a way out, talk about God’s greatness—not about your problems, not about what didn’t work out. Talk about your answered prayers, the times God healed you, promoted you, stopped the accidents, and turned the problems around. Talk about the Red Seas that have been parted.” When you’re remembering your victories, you’re going to move forward in faith.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for Your greatness and power and glory. Thank You that Your hand has been upon my life in so many ways, answering my prayers and doing what I could never do on my own. I declare Your goodness, Your victory, and Your majesty. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,
From the time that Adam & Eve rebelled against GOD and decided to go their own way we have been caught up in the mess.  We were not born in the Garden of God, we were born in the fallen world of weeds and thorns.   We grew up in the weed patch.  We even tried to survive by planting weeds, believing they were food.   But our Creator God never lost faith in some of us deciding to try to swim upstream.  That out of this big mess, some would decide to love the light more than the darkness and seek HIM out.  We see this in the Old Testament records of the prophets as recorded in Hebrews 11.  Isaiah and Ezekiel seemed to secure some really good connections.  I really love the prophecy of Isaiah in 53 and in 61 especially in 61 where he predicts the words of Christ Jesus at age 30 when HE began HIS ministry in power: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound,  2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] [a] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,”   Many hundreds of years later this was the exact message of Christ Jesus as recorded by Luke and not only that but that HE actually did what HE said HE was sent to do and still wants to do the same today through those who belong to HIM.  Luke 4:17-21, John 14:11-13.     It would be easy to read and say I am the ONE.  But then to prove it by action would be a whole different ball game.  As HIS, Born from Above,  Kids we need to learn to follow in HIS steps.

So today, how do we do what Christ Jesus also sends us to do.  Obviously it is not happening with what we are doing.   In our traditional theater church services we see very little, if any power.  So have we been following a lie or have we so filled the water pipe with our junk traditions that there is little or no room for the flow of the Holy Spirit?  Matt. 6:7,  Matt. 15:6-9,  Mark 7:6-13

I once had a vision on the road driving from Eugene, OR. to the coast where I was building a house for some folks.  And for a few moments driving down the straight road I could see in the vision a beautiful pastoral scene on the right with lots of wild life and green and flowers and fruit like some artist would paint at a happy time.  But on the other side of the road it was death valley.  Nothing green at all, just D. O. A.   So I asked the LORD what’s the problem and he said the culverts under the road are full of trash.  So the water does not go under the road..  And HE concluded in saying, and you are one of the culverts.  And then HE asked me if I would like some help to clean it out.  I said sure but then the stench of what HE started pulling out of my culvert made me want to barf.  So I stopped HIM,  but just a little water came out the other side like mud.  And the good seeds did not seem to mind the mud at all,  they just soaked up the good water and started growing,  and so I was had.  I had to go back to work on my culvert to increase the flow of life giving water to the other side.  It has been very embarrassing at times but worth it to repent,  forgive and forget the past and to press on with the house cleaning or sanctification as the Bible calls it.  And so today I can look back see a lot of new green life on the left side of the road for which I give sincere thanks for the privilege of being allowed to experience HIS life in flowing through me.   

We are each a culvert with the potential of allowing GOD’S life giving water of the Holy Spirit to flow through us.  Some big, some small but all with the ability to share GOD’S LIFE.   But if your culvert is plugged with the unrepentant fears, resentments, lusts, cares and love of this world you may totally miss out on GOD’S LIFE for you and for others for eternity.  Our life time of testing in this temporary time dimension is only for our one life time and after that what you decide here will be eternal.

Today’s Scripture       (In my mailbox from Texas today.)
“…Jesus simply replied, “Go home. Your son lives.” The man believed the bare word Jesus spoke and headed home. On his way back, his servants intercepted him and announced, “Your son lives!…”  (John 4:48–54, MSG)

Take Him at His Word

A government official had come to Jesus begging Him to come heal his son who was close to death. Jesus didn’t pray or take a lot of time, but matter-of-factly declared that the boy was healed and he should go home. The whole time walking back home, the man could have thought, I don’t know if it’s going to happen, He didn’t even pray. But he simply took God at His word and later found that his son had been healed at the exact time Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.”  Like this man, there are promises God has spoken to you, things in your heart that you know are going happen—healing, promotion, divine connections. Make the decision you’re not going to worry, you’re not going to go around doubting, thinking it’s never going to happen. Stay in faith knowing that the moment God said it, He released it. It’s already in your future and is headed your way.


A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for Your goodness and favor and that You are faithful to Your word. I take You at Your word and believe that You have some unexpected deliveries coming my way. I believe it’s going to happen sooner than expected. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts,
My first thoughts are: This is a very personal testimony of a day in the life of Christ Jesus with profoundly great results as usual.  But the key words here are:   And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.  Seems to me for today we must first get into knowing for sure which voice is really Jesus.  And second that the father did not try to tell Jesus how to perform the needed miracle.  The father could have insisted that after the meeting that Jesus really needed to come to his house or church for it to happen.  He did not tell Jesus that we need to get together a prayer meeting or that Jesus would need special fasting and prayer.  Obviously the father deeply loved his son and he came himself.  In fact in John 14:11-13 Jesus tells us: “ 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.


So why is this not our experience?  Could it be that our vain traditions have made the Word of God ineffective?   Again in Eph. 4:11-16 we are reminded by Apostle Paul that if we will allow ourselves to be fitly joined and compacted that the world will than be able to see Jesus.   It seems that much needs to be restored to the Holy Spirit that we have taken from HIM and call it church.  And also we have created our Jesus to be acceptable in our world through our traditions.  Looks like we have become comfortable with “lukewarm” as per prophesy in Rev. 3 and 1 Tim.3 and have tried to make our Creator in our image rather than to submit in humility to being restored to HIS image.  Personally I long for the Real Church of Christ Jesus to be gathered into John 17 and learn to stand up in the image and likeness of Christ Jesus.  For the True Church to find time to enter into the ministry of loving power and holiness that we find for us in leaning about Christ Jesus through the eyes of HIS disciples and apostles.  We can no longer afford the pride to agree to disagree.  In love we must learn to work together with the Holy Spirit to find loving unity in GOD’S TRUTH for real freedom.   John 17:20-24  (Should read the whole prayer for context.)


20 “Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching,  21 That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.  22 I have given to them the glory (POWER) and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one:  23 I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.  24 Father, I desire that they also whom You have entrusted to Me [as Your gift to Me] may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory, which You have given Me [Your love gift to Me]; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” 

My hope and prayer is that some may find the time, in humility, to submit to being a part of this our LORD’S only recorded personal prayer by John the beloved.   We know it will come to pass.

A female Humpback that had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines. Weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat, with hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body, tail, and torso, and a line tugging in her mouth, she was a miserable victim indeed.  Thankfully, a fisherman spotted her just east of the Farralone Islands (outside the Golden Gate) and radioed an environmental group for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was in such bad condition the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her, a very dangerous proposition. One slap of her enormous tail could kill a rescuer. Undaunted, these brave souls worked for hours cutting her free. One guy who was cutting the rope out of her mouth says he saw her eye following him the entire time. Finally, they were able to free her.  The moment she was freed, the divers say she began to swim in joyous circles! She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and nudged them, gently –she thanked them all. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.  (The Church (people) of Christ Jesus need the same freedom in the Holy Spirit.)  www.WorthyMinistries.com

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

While walking through the forest one day, a farmer found a young eagle who had apparently fallen out of his nest. He took it home and put it in his barnyard with his chickens and there it stayed for years. It wasn’t long before the little eagle learned to eat and behave like the chickens.  One day a naturalist passed by the farm and saw the eagle confined in the barnyard with the chickens. When he inquired about this strange sight, the farmer told the man his story. “Unfortunately,” said the farmer, “the poor little guy just never learned to fly.” “Still,” the naturalist sighed, “he has the heart of an eagle and can surely be taught. Will you allow me to work with him?” The farmer agreed, but with much disbelief.  The naturalist picked up the eagle and lifted him toward the sky and said, “You belong to the sky and not to the earth. Stretch forth your wings and fly.” The eagle, however, was confused. He did not know who he was, and seeing the chickens eating their food, he jumped down to be with them again. The naturalist took the bird to the roof of the house and urged him again, saying, “You are an eagle. Stretch forth your wings and fly.” But the eagle was afraid and jumped down once again to be with his chicken friends. Finally the naturalist took the eagle out of the barnyard to a high mountain. There he held the king of the birds high above him and encouraged him again, saying, “You are an eagle. You belong to the sky. Stretch forth your wings and fly!” The eagle looked around, back towards the barnyard and then up to the sky. Slowly, he stretched his wings, and with a triumphant cry, he soared away into the heavens.

Somewhere along the line, we like this poor young eagle, were put in a lowly barn with the chickens of the world around us. We learned to live and eat from the ground and grew up believing that there was not much more to do than sit and cluck all day.  But the reality is that we are eagles! We were created to fly and even soar! God has great purpose for our lives! If we would only realize who we are in Him!  So let’s remember who we are today and stop acting like chickens! It Shall Not Prosper
Today’s Scripture doesn’t say that we won’t have difficulties. That’s not reality. It says, “The problem may form, people may talk, you may get a negative medical report, but you can stay in peace, knowing it’s not going to prosper against you.” Because you’re God’s child, because you’re in the secret place of the Most High, God has a hedge of protection, mercy, and favor around you that the enemy cannot cross. No person, no sickness, no trouble, and no force of darkness can stop God’s plan for your life.  When you face these challenges and you’re tempted to worry, tell yourself: “This problem may have formed, they may be trying to make me look bad, but I’m not worried. This medical report may not look good, but I have a promise from Almighty God that it is not going to prosper. He has me in the palms of His hands. I’m staying in peace. God and I are a majority.”

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that I have Your promise that nothing that forms against me is going to prosper. I declare that because I am Your child, there is a hedge of protection, mercy, and favor around me that the enemy cannot cross. I’m staying in peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Notes:
When we had the Inn in Holualoa, one of the things I love to have was big brown fresh eggs for breakfast.  The kind with the orange yoke.  So I would take a banti feral hen and let her set on her eggs and golf balls for the 21 days for hatching but a day or so before hatching order in some chicks from Honolulu of a dozen big laying hen chicks.  I would then go out that night,  put a towel gently over her and very gently take a chick in my hand and sneak it under her and remove a couple of golf balls.  I kept doing that until all the babies were under her and then remove the towel.  She would immediately catch on to the babies, her mother instinct wold instantly catch hold and next morning she was one very proud and very protective mother.  Those big hens would even be taught by her to fly when in their teens and would roost with her in the trees totally out of reach of predator even when full size. They would be one very wise flock of hens when they graduated.   They learned to be like their “mother.”   This is just the opposite of the Eagle story, never the less, it is true.   That the world does set standards for us of mediocrity of what we can and can not do.  Even our schools are dumb ed down.  Many things we learn from the world really do hold us back.   John, the best buddy of Jesus, had this to say about it:   1 John 2:14,   I write to you, fathers, because you have come to know (recognize, be conscious of, and understand) Him Who [has existed] from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong and vigorous, and the Word of God is [always] abiding in you (in your hearts), and you have been victorious over the wicked one.  15 Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.  16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].  17 And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever.  1 John 2:14-17   (And we are seeing a world wide object lesson of this very thing very clearly today due to the virus.)

 Today’s Scripture       
“…Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach…”  (Isaiah 54:4, NIV)         (Across my desk today from Texas.)

Shame
Shame is one of the enemy’s favorite tools. Starting in our childhoods, he will remind you of every mistake and every failure you’ve ever made, saying “Shame on you” even about things that weren’t your fault. As adults, “Shame on you” plays over and over in our thoughts. If you fell back into a bad habit, you told yourself, “Shame on you.” If you went through a divorce, the message is “Shame on you.” Shame causes us to feel guilty and unworthy, as though we don’t deserve to be blessed.  But today’s Scripture speaks of how God has removed our shame. Whether it was your fault or somebody else’s fault, you don’t have to carry the heavy load of guilt, or beat yourself up over past mistakes, or feel wrong on the inside. When the enemy says, “Shame on you,” God says, “Shame off you. I’ve forgiven you. I’ve redeemed you. I’ve made you valuable.” Your worth comes from your Creator.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You have removed my shame, and You have defeated the enemy who accuses me. Thank You that You have forgiven me of my past mistakes and released me from the guilt. I declare ‘Shame off me!’ to whatever tries to make me feel unworthy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Ken’s Thoughts:

Shame has been a very big battle for most of my life.  I have been very curious most of my life and got the worst switching of my life when about age 6 in the 1st grade when at play I ask little Nancy, my age,  if she would show me,  her’s and I would show her, mine.  Just a Ky. little boy curious but in a big grass field not mindful that my mother was with workmen on our home being built above us.  It was not a good idea at all.  And I was switched with many willow branches on bare legs for 3 blocks all  the way home about something that meant absolutely nothing to me but due of my mother’s shame.   Like Adam and Eve we have all had those kind of experiences that sometimes have lasted a life time with not really realizing the shame bondage that had been placed upon us by the enemy and sometimes even the church.  But I have found that the Word of God can and will deliver us with loving heart faith.  What we need most today is true heartfelt repentance and a Holy Spirit Revival and Restoration.   We all have or had demons of darkness in our back closets of shame.  And we all need to be delivered and set free to become like Jesus.    Even at my age a little difficult to share with you but somehow needed ?

Tomorrow is the 7th day of last week, Read Hebrews 4 about entering into HIS REST…  The Jews under the LAW totally missed the meaning of the 7th Day of Rest as it was prophetic of the time that the Church would learn to walk in the Spirit and to cease from their own works.  Be sure and read it and note especially Heb.4:10-11   So dump the shame and enter HIS Rest.
