   “WORTH CONSIDERING”     10/7/21, Ken Smith

If you study the New Testament you will find the Early Church was much different than that of our church today.   The Early Church evangelized on Saturday Mornings at the local Synagogue and met again Saturday evenings at House Churches for Teaching, the Lord Supper, Agape Meal and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in power confirming the Word of God that was taught.  Perhaps if we would return to the traditions of the Earl Church as a forum gathering of interaction in God’s Truth we would get the same powerful results.  The Holy Spirit is still here to confirm the Word of God in power.   Paul in 2 Tim.3:5 tells us that if there is no obvious power after a message, don’t waste your time, go somewhere else..  Go where you can experience the Holy Spirit in love, holiness & power.   In Matt.15:6,  Jesus tells us about the same thing.

There is but one Church of Christ Jesus.   If we are truly a member of HIS Church then there is no need to join a denomination or anything else.   If we walk together in God’s Truth and Unity, we would match our LORD’s prayer in John 17:20-24 for unity just fine.   But if a house is a divided house it can not stand.  So membership in the LORD’s Eternal Church is really by coming into the Unity of the Faith and the Bond of Peace,  it is not in becoming organized.   If the deep roots of God’s Truth were shared and believed then the Holy Spirit would confirm with signs following and we would be so busy in the Kingdom that we would have little time for organization.   The Early Church used their gifts and offerings for evangelism and to help the poor.   There is no  mention of tithing in the New Testament or in building anything for that matter.   The Early Church had no overhead as the churches we  have.   They had no physical maintenance stewardship needing constant funding.   All of the house churches were on their own as were the Elders.   But God saw to it that all of the needs were met very nicely.   So here,  we are about working together in God’s Loving Truth to build a little fire in the Holy Spirit and hope it will get big enough to dry out some big wet logs like Saul was before he became Paul.  The Western World is starved for the very truth of God and seems to be getting fed very low cal diet of religious traditions

So how to share God’s basic vision of the Kingdom across to get folks so that they are willing to sell all that they have so to buy the treasure in the field.   Or to spend all they have on Holy Spirit oil so as to have a good light going when the LORD returns.   For lack of a vision the people perish. Folks all around us are being taught to love this world and be comfortable in it, rather than seek the King of the Kingdom of God and HIS Righteousness.  And this is even being taught in our so called religious theater gathering called churches,   Give to GET….  Not give as guided by the Holy Spirit or out of a great love for Jesus and HIS Kingdom.   Or for a Jesus love for the souls of man.   And this is what God does honors

If your traditional church dumps the vain traditions that make the Word of God ineffective that would cause more to be interested and want to find out what you are doing.  At this point in life I am drawn to experience the Church of Jesus rather than to continue to only play church without the power of God to help those in need.

For many years now I have tried to change negative religious traditional theater structures already in existence as in denominations and have not been successful.   One of the reason that the Pilgrims worked so well in the 70’s was there were no traditions to change.   So it was the New Testament, new wine in a new wine skin.   And once people saw that the Holy Spirit was active in power to confirm,  it drew all kinds of people to Jesus.  Therefore I have concluded that perhaps only by starting  as a new ministry with only the New Testament Traditions in focus could we again find the fire for us here.  Once the fire of the Holy Spirit is going it will draw all to Jesus.  And there can be no competition or compromise with the Holy Spirit as to the Pure Truth of God.  It would make the John 17 Unity easy and ministries would merge easily together when walking out the simple New Testament Truths that Jesus gave us.  There is power in unity,  But Holy Spirit Power is only made available in supporting GOD’S TRUTH.   2 Tim.3:5   The Holy Spirit will not support or confirm any of the vain traditions of the church.   God will not compromise HIS TRUTH.  He will not support what we think is good unless HE feels the same way about it.   We can join and compromise with all of those vain traditions and yet it will again only be a waste of time,  Matt.15:6.

A definition of insanity: To do the same thing over and over but expecting a different result.  Until we sort the Good Godly Traditions from the Bad Religious Traditions I don’t feel we will experience the power of a New Testament Church like in the Book of Acts.  I will be putting together a teaching on Basic Good Church Traditions from the New Testament very soon now.

WORD OF GOD,   WORTH CONSIDERING   10/5/21   By Ken Smith<><

Have you ever wondered why there is little or no power of the Holy Spirit in the Church today?  Often folks are sick for years and die early and ahead of the time given by God.  ( 120 Yrs.  Gen.6:3. ) Have you ever wondered why all of the Christian Churches seem to be in competition with each other rather than supportive of Jesus in unity?   Are you one of those souls who has a compartment for religious stuff and another for daily living?   And have pretty much given up on the church as we know it.   It is a nice place to have friends and be social but is it really doing what is was created to do.  Is it really helping us to become like Jesus and lift HIM up or is it just a comfortable place to go and to mostly be told that along with the Biblical history that we are really OK as per the traditions of the church and not to expect too much.   But really, is the church following in the traditions of Jesus and the Early Church of Power that we see in Acts.  With the church I attended for the first 13 years of being a “weedy” Christian I was told that, “The Book of Acts can not be used for doctrine.”  It is a book of History…. ?????   Wondered about that, but they did seems to know a lot more than I did at the time,  1955-68.

So what does the Bible, in context, have to say about all this?   In 2 Tim.3:5, Apostle Paul was rather blunt in a prophesy concerning our day.  Should read from the beginning of the chapter but I will only quote the verse, “For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them].”   And again in Eph.4:14  Paul warns us to not be children, “So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of [b] unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead.” Good to read Eph. 4:11-16 to get a picture of what the Church of Jesus is to really look like.   And our Lord Jesus also taught on the subject in Matt.15:6.  “So for the sake of your tradition (the rules handed down by your forefathers), you have set aside the Word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect] .”  WOW!!!  “MAKING IT WORTHLESS.”  In John 5:38, Jesus said these words, “And you have not His word (His thought) living in your hearts, because you do not believe and adhere to and trust in and rely on Him Whom He has sent. [That is why you do not keep His message living in you, because you do not believe in the Messenger Whom He has sent.]”  The writer of Hebrews, in Hebrews 4:12, had this to say about the Word of GOD, “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.”

So, any deviation from God’s Truth (WORD) and the power of the Holy Spirit will not flow.   If what we do is to work, what is done, can not contain any vain traditions or we will again be playing church and remain at square one.   2 Tim.3:5   The Holy Spirit can only confirm the Word of God as shared in faithful truth and substance as when it was given.   It is my feeling that the primitive Early Church was on track as per Acts 2:41-43,  5:12-16   I believe this Power is still there for us today, John 17: 20-24,  if we will allow ourselves to return to the Early Church truth, unity,  and love in simplicity,  humility and obedience.   I don’t believe we can make a bridge between Acts that works if we allow ourselves to be manipulated by the vanity of the religious theater church of today and to lift them up rather than Jesus.  Seems to me we will need a new wine and wineskin in the Holy Spirit to see Hawaii come under conviction for sin and to repent and find our way into the power of the Holy Spirit and to only lift up Jesus.   If what caused Hawaii to be lost in the first place is rebuilt, will it not only fall apart once again?  We would like to join with anyone and any church that understands this message.  We need to quit justifying our lack of Power in the Holy Spirit.  If we were keeping the commandment of Jesus and walking in the Truth that HE gave us we would be enjoy writing another chapter in the Book of Acts.  John 17:20-24 and Matt. 28:18-20, “Jesus approached and, [a] breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.   19 Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them [b] into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you [c] all the days ([d] perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. [e] Amen (so let it be).”  So we do have the power till HE returns and we are to teach and observe all that HE commanded.  Obviously we have not learned to be obedient in doing that.

Jesus made of himself no reputation and we are to follow HIS example to be on track.   When we are to saturate ourselves with God’s Truth and walk it out in humility.  And then the Holy Spirit will confirm God’s Truth with power to lift Jesus up and draw all to HIM.  Eph. 4:11-16.  The Church will not go home until completed without spot, wrinkle or blemish in humility and obedience.  The Church will become a match for Jesus at the Union, Rev.19.  and in faith as per faith,  Heb.11 For it is not by might nor by power but by my Spirit…. according to our Creator God.

Overview of World Events from a Christian perspective.
U.S. Condemns China’s Mass Incursions Into Taiwan’s Defense Zone
The United States has expressed concern about the unprecedented appearance of Chinese military aircraft in Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ). The self-governing island said a total of 39 Chinese military aircraft entered the ADIZ, airspace dedicated to responding to hostile aircraft. That was one more than the 38 planes the Taiwanese military spotted on Friday.

Iran FM demands US unfreeze $10 billion in order to restart nuclear talks.   Iran said it has told the United States that it will only consider returning to nuclear talks if the State Department releases $10 billion of Tehran’s frozen funds as a sign of goodwill, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said Saturday.    (By the way, the Qur’an teaches that a Muslim does not need to keep his word with a non-believer.   So any agreement the U.S. makes with Iran is really, morally,  worthless.)

Bible 101

Bible 101 “WORTH CONSIDERING”   10/2/21    From Ken Smith<><

Aloha Saints, Family and Friends,  beloved of Jesus and me,   John 3:16
Seems the church today is mostly about physical political stuff.   Seems like it would be better just to focus on becoming a light house and lifting up Jesus.  A house church gathering with only a few would be a good start and simply teach about God’s Love, holiness & Power in Basic Bible.  Jesus said, “Religious traditions have made the Word of God, ineffective.”  We now mostly have a “form of godliness with little or no power”, 2 Tim. 3:5 as Paul wrote..     Most folks have had some kind of a religious experience that has caused them to be discouraged about God.   We need to help start a spiritual fire in the Holy Spirit that is like Jesus.   If HE be lifted up,  He will draw folks, seeking light, to HIM,  Eph.4:11-16.   But seems that the obsession with the religious junk of the past that accomplishes little, may be totally a waste of time. We may be trying to graft a living olive branch onto a dead stump.   The world needs to see Jesus in HIS Church,  alive, well and doing what HE did while on earth,  to sit up and take notice and to be drawn to HIM.   We need to take time to learn how to do this.

The Early church has a very wise saying:
In Essentials, UNITY…. In all else, LOVE

Genesis: The Prophets of God have given us the understanding  from our Creator that HE lives in a totally different dimension than the small time capsule that we find ourselves living in today.  We find that our Creator God had no beginning of life nor end and that HIS dimension is without limits in power or time.  And further that HE has a vision and plan in operation to make a holy family,  Man in HIS Image and Likeness was created potentially to eventually to become an eternal family of righteousness and power.   Adam was the fist to have that potential opportunity and was created as the 1st of his kind with a  freewill in a temporary time dimension on earth in Eden.  We are told by the prophet Moses that Adam made the choice to allow lucifer to guide him rather than the Creator and lost the spiritual life and authority that he had been given.  The Holy Bible is a collection of 66 prophetical notes preserved to help us know how our Creator God has set in motion a plan of redemption for those who are interested.  Adam was created eternal but his body became temporary due to Adam’s pride and rebellion.  And as the children of Adam we all have eternal souls but it is up to our Creator to replace our temporary body or not.  This is based upon our life choices and how we respond to HIS offered salvation requiring faith, love, humility & obedience through Christ Jesus as LORD.  The Creator is not going to allow the earthly corruption & rebellion of man loose in HIS eternal universe.

There are basics of the Christian faith, which are essential for salvation and upon which all Christians must agree.

The Deity of Christ Jesus, LORD:    (John 1:1, John 20:28, Heb. 1:8 9), the Creator God Himself (Col. 1:16. Compare Gen. 1:1). Who “laid the foundation of the earth” (Heb. 1:10 12. Compare Psalms 102:24 27).   (The first to make it through in becoming in the Image of God.)

The Virgin Birth (Isaiah 7:14, Mt. 1:23, Luke 1:27).   (Needed to bypass the Adamic contamination.)

The Blood Atonement (Acts 20:28, Rom. 3:25, Rom. 5:9, Eph. 1:7).   (To impress on man the results and impact of pride and rebellion or sin as we call it.)

The Bodily Resurrection (Luke 24:36 46, 1 Cor. 15:1 4, 1 Cor. 15:14 15).   (To provide the proof and means for the option for redemption.  In Adam all died, In Jesus shall all be made alive.

The Second Advent of Christ Jesus to set up His Kingdom on Earth and in Eternity (Isa. 9:6,7)

The inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures themselves (Psalms 12:6 7, Rom. 15:4, 2Tim. 3:16 17, 2Pet. 1:20). This is a reference to people who claim to have revelations apart from the Holy Scriptures and which can not be supported by Holy Scripture.  (That earth time is temporary and one day will be no more. ) That only what our Creator God has spoken will be unchanged for eternity.   So among ourselves, we may vigorously debate other items, such as the merits or means of baptism, the validity of various Bible translations, the authority of the Presbytery, etc. Such quests for truth in love are totally acceptable within the confines of Christianity because our salvation does not rest upon these issues.

The Following Positions of doctrines are also considered of importance
God is manifested in a Trinity of, God the Father, God the Word and God the Holy Spirit similar to water as liquid, solid and vapor. This essence of God’s nature is found in 1 Jn.5:7. Love, Holiness, and Power may be seen in these three manifestations of God as in the Evangelical, Sacramental and Charismatic expressions of faith.  But without the balance of each other they tend to become indulgent, sanctimonious and perhaps even a carnival. For more on God’s authority and nature:   Goto:   “Keys To The Kingdom”

The Word of God became flesh and was born of a virgin. Under God’s judgment of sin, Jesus died in our place and was raised from the dead by the power of God for our justification and He shall come again as Jesus the Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords and His reign shall be forever, Isa.9:6.  Disciples may also be filled with the Holy Spirit and learn to enjoy the fruit, gifts, and ministries of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit can give the power to live a holy life and to minister the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven to those who truly walk in faith and love and make Jesus Christ the King of Kings in their lives. Roman chapters 8-12 are supported here. Events are closing for the final judgment in the history of mankind. Those who have yielded to Jesus as Lord will become His brethren in the eternal family of God. Those who reject the Lordship and forgiveness offered through Jesus Christ and have lived egocentric lives will be separated from God’s presence, creation and light and exiled into isolation and outer darkness for eternity. God will not force anyone to come under the authority of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Free will is most precious in God’s creation and God has made all souls eternal. The choice in this temporary time dimension is to learn to want to live with Him in light. To reject His right to be God and King in our lives is to be removed from His presence and His future creation. Jude 11-25

An expanded Christian confession of faith:
I confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord, Master, and Savior. By faith in Christ Jesus, I am forgiven, cleansed, healed and made a citizen of His eternal kingdom. Jesus Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law of sin, sickness, weakness and eternal death through His death on the cross for me. I believe in the Trinity of one God: Almighty Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Creator, Word of God made flesh, The Word of God who was begotten as the second Adam. He was born of a virgin, died for my sins, rose for my justification and is coming again soon, in great glory, to establish His Kingdom on earth. I believe in the new birth from above, the baptism in water, and the baptism in the Holy Spirit. I confess that the blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed me from all my sin and I am now made the righteousness of God in and through Christ Jesus. I confess that I can do all things through Christ who is my strength as I abide in Him. I confess that this world is not my home. I confess that I am a pilgrim in a foreign land and I look for that certain return of my Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. I confess that there is but one holy universal and apostolic Church of Jesus Christ and all those who are born from above are brethren and citizens of His kingdom. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is being perfected by the Holy Spirit through the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers and other ministries of His Church until all the faithful come into the unity of the faith and the bond of peace and are changed into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ,    ( Eph. 4:11 – 16 ).

Marriage 9/23/21

Marriage (2)    “Worth Considering”   9/23/21,   by Ken Smith<><
So let’s again look through the scriptures for the context of the Unity of Marriage.

Gen 1:26,   “God said, Let Us [Father, Word, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.  A long way to go in getting to Jesus.
Jesus was the 1st of man to reach and obtain the vision of the WORD of GOD in Gen.1:26.

Notice here that God is in 3 persons, Obviously the Word of God, speaking to create mankind but man limited to earth in a temporary dimension of Time and that this was the beginning of a very special but limited process.

Gen.2:7, “Then the Lord God formed man from the [a] dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being.   Same as in John 20:22 where Jesus restored the Holy Spirit (Breath of Life) that had been lost with Adam’s rebellion.  Jn. 3.  And HIS disciples received eternal life.

Gen.2:18,  Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.  (So God gave Adam someone to talk to and to help him that was complementary, that is a nice word for the original concept of woman’s creation.  And if a woman applies this to the wrong Adam she reaps much pain from the association.  A woman sometimes marries a man believing she can “fix” him,  this usually is negative as well.   But also obvious is that Adam needed help but not a mother.  Gen.2:24, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.  (Must have been a Moses moment as GOD had said nothing about Fathers, Mother or children in this story of the Creation.)

So then the Pride and Rebellion at the tree of knowledge and the fall of the human race.  When Adam and Eve lost their GOD connection of life through the Holy Spirit and we were born dead, spiritually.

Gen.3:16-17, “16 To the woman He said, I will greatly multiply your grief and your suffering in pregnancy and the pangs of childbearing; with spasms of distress you will bring forth children. Yet your desire and craving will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.  17 And to Adam He said, Because you have listened and given heed to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it, the ground is under a curse because of you; in sorrow and toil shall you eat [of the fruits] of it all the days of your life.  (So we were born into a cursed world but have the option through Christ Jesus to find our way back into the forgiveness and grace of GOD and elect to go through the process of Sanctification (To be made Holy or to be put back on track..)  But some of us are foolish and only a few are wise, Matt.25:1-13.

Proverbs 31:10-31,   Husband is a Judge at the Gate and safely trusts her (11) And the wife has even the freedom to buy and sell land (16) and run the whole farm.  What a beautiful example of unity.

1 Cor.14:34-36, Only a Righteous man can Roll Model for another man to become righteous.  As it is also very difficult for a righteous  man to teach a mature woman how to become virtuous.

Key Verses:
Eph.4:22-33,  Wives, be subject (be submissive and adapt yourselves) to your own husbands as [a service] to the Lord.  23 For the husband is head of the wife as Christ is the Head of the church, Himself the Savior of [His] body.  24 As the church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands.  25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her,  26 So that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word,  27 That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless].  28 Even so husbands should love their wives as [being in a sense] their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.  29 For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and carefully protects and cherishes it, as Christ does the church,  30 Because we are members (parts) of His body.  31 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.  32 This mystery is very great, but I speak concerning [the relation of] Christ and the church.  33 However, let each man of you [without exception] love his wife as [being in a sense] his very own self; and let the wife see that she respects and reverences her husband [[a] that she notices him, regards him, honors him, prefers him, venerates, and esteems him; and [b] that she defers to him, praises him, and loves and admires him exceedingly].

The ideal is for a marriage to show Christ and the Church to the world.   Men should love their wives as Jesus does HIS Church.  And women should love their husbands as though they were Jesus.  Complete unity is the ultimate destiny of a Godly Marriage.

1 Cor. 7 and 1 Pet.3 cover much of the rest.  The ideal is for post puberty youth to find God’s mate for themselves and as virgins and to marry early so that sex become a strong loving cement in the marriage.  And that the families on both sides do what they can to spiritually and physically help the marriage to bloom into a vision of the world seeing Christ and HIS Church in perfect unity.  Today we are seeing about 51% of Christian marriages ending in divorce.   And most of our children are living together with no thought of the Godly warnings concerning fornication and adultery.  We seem to be ending the “Age of the Gentiles” Luke 21 and getting ready for the rapture.  And we must also realize that divorce is not an unpardonable sin. Our U.S. culture is not very supportive of a Christian Marriage.  And yet this is the strongest building block for a nation.

Psalm 127:4-5, “As arrows are in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy, blessed, and fortunate is the man whose quiver is filled with them! They will not be put to shame when they speak with their adversaries [in gatherings] at the [city’s] gate.    So children are always a blessing from the LORD.

Every time a society replaces lifelong, monogamous marriage with sexual immorality, that society collapses to the lowest state of functioning within just three generations.  Written by a non-Christian anthropologist who was born in 1865.  The so-called radically anti-family, anti-faith  “Equality Act” bill (S 788) would FORCE pastors to “wed” same-gender couples in their churches, house boys and girls together overnight on mission trips and other church functions, and allow drag queen Sunday School teachers. The alternative would be to face crippling lawsuits or even arrest.  This bill is now headed towards becoming law.  Pray for a national revival of the true faith, once delivered.  And that the Equality Act S-788  will not pass to become law.

Light through Works

Light though Works,    “Worth Considering”   9/21/21   by Ken Smith<><
Light is a word use 329 time in the AMP with 102 times in the New Testament.  In the Gospels it is used 49 times and most of the time it is use to note God’s Loving Truth in a world of darkness.  It is very interesting to me how Jesus use the word light in Matt.25:1-12.  that the 5 virgins without light were excluded   from the Kingdom.  Virgin would indicate forgiven?  But then without oil or light?   I had to ask a young lady to leave our farm all though she was a Christian she was not an example in her work of light.  It made it difficult for me to have others carry their responsibilities and her not.  So rather than part of the cure in light, she was part of the problem in her darkness.  So people really see more of Jesus through what we do than by what we say.   It was by seeing Jesus in Floyd in 1955 lit up in the Love of God that got me into the kingdom, rather than all the words.  Floyd was the custodian for a church on 5 acres of ground in Long Beach and I saw Jesus in Floyd by the way that he took on the responsibility for that Church.  So in what we do in our work, as unto the LORD, is really where the world watches Christians for the witness of God’s Truth & Light.  So how you approach your work, your attitude, your forgiveness, your separation from the world.  In my work in an engineering office in Long Beach, I never had to opportunity to talk much to the other men working there except on the projects.   But as they would pass nudes from desk to desk I made it a habit not to look at them.  That alone was a major witness in the office and at breaks got to talk about Jesus and find brothers in the LORD.  But later as I settled into be a church Christian I learned that it was OK not to be so much in the light and my light started to dim down.  And eventually could say Jesus was LORD but without Him being really lord most of the time.  It was like departing from the Biblical definition of what it was to be a Christian into making my own definition apart from the Bible.  So I settled into being, “generally” a Christian by my standards rather than by Jesus standards.

But after 13 years of up and down, trying to be a Christian and next day, not.   I learned about being baptized in the Holy Spirit and that experience totally changed the direction of my life.  If you will note the disciples received their salvation after the resurrection of Jesus in the “Upper Room” Matt.20:22 and then later they were empowered at Pentecost Acts 1:8.   Same thing happened to the believers in Samaria (Acts 8:14-17) and Paul (Acts 9:3-18.)   Salvation is much different than being filled with the Holy Spirit like Jesus taught in Luke 11:9-13.  Notice in 11:11 is a son doing the asking of the Father.  So like Paul asked the disciples of Apollos in Acts 19:2,   “…. Have you received the Holy Spirit since ye believed?”  Do you really have Holy Spirit oil like in Rev.3:18 (eye salve = Holy Spirit oil) Our Heavenly Father want to fill you with the oil of the Holy Spirit for power to BE a witness of Christ Jesus but must wait on your willingness to become truly obedient. Acts 5:32, 1 John 3:24, “All who keep His commandments [who obey His orders and follow His plan, live and continue to live, to stay and] abide in Him, and He in them. [They let Christ be a home to them and they are the home of Christ.] And by this we know and understand and have the proof that He [really] lives and makes His home in us: by the [Holy] Spirit Whom He has given us.”  So as we obey the LORD as per HIS commandments we can be filled with Holy Spirit Power to represent HIM on earth and do what HE did.   Jesus taught this in John 14:12, “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.”  No power where you go to church?   2 Tim. 3:5

Yours, in HIS great LOVE and wonderful Grace & Mercy,   Ken<><

During the feast of Tabernacles in Yeshua’s (Jesus’) day, the temple priests would set up four great lampstands with golden lampholders, which they would light with the aid of enormous ladders in the Temple courtyard. The lighting of these lamps began the celebration of the “Great Hosannah” (Hoshannah Rabbah, in Hebrew). The celebration went on in to the wee hours — with music and dancing and rejoicing, while the beautiful lights lit up the night. Jerusalem was a breathtaking, illuminated city on a hill.

The following morning the Jewish people would recite the prayer for the eighth day of the feast — “Be thou praised, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who makest light and causes darkness, who makest peace and createst all: the light of the world as the treasure of life…” Yeshua said, “I am the Light of the world.”.

God is Light, He loves light, He creates light, He sheds light, He desires light. Lamps with oil produce light, both for those who carry them and for those who see the light bearers. “You are the light of the world”, He said. So the Lord also expects light from and His people. The light of God in our lives comes from His Holy Spirit, and oil has always been associated with the Spirit’s ministry in the lives of believers. Burning oil produces light. If we are spiritual “virgins” because we are betrothed to one Heavenly Husband, we ought to bear His light in this dark world. Yet He has told us that some virgins will not have the wisdom to do it, so it is a warning to us; a warning not to quench the Spirit, but be filled with Him and be the light of the world.

Some of us, though virgins, have been walking in darkness. This could change. The choice to light our lamps belongs to us. The gift of the Holy Spirit has been given to all true virgins. The wise among us will “buy oil” and maintain our lamps thoroughly filled. To “buy oil” means to “spend time” with the One who supplies it, asking Him to fill us up, and to clean out the impurities in our “lamps”. You know what this means for you personally, and I know what it means for me.  We ought to think about the joy of the wedding, and prepare our hearts with His light… illuminated beautifully for all the world to see, and to be ready! At midnight, when the Bridegroom suddenly appears, our joy will be unspeakable.   Blessings,   George

Aloha Saints, Family and Friends,  beloved of Jesus and me,   John 3:16

Upon me finding Jesus as LORD and HIM finding me to save me in April 28 1955, I started attending a Grace Brethren Church.  As I look back now, I am very thankful as it kept me spiritually alive but sorry to say it was a small box with very little power of the Holy Spirit and not much freedom.   One of the first things I was taught was that the Book of Acts could not be used for Doctrine as it was only history.  Not even written by one of the apostles.  That upon the death of John the days of the supernatural were over and now we were saved as we made Jesus our Savior and came to church.  That was OK by me at the time as I had a lot of other stuff on my plate in providing a living for 4 and soon 5.   But I was an evangelical Christian and really tried to get everyone saved and become a member of our Church.

But that was a long long time ago and here I am at nearly 89 with a much different approach to the New Testament and especially the Book of Acts.   In fact I see a lot of God’s Truth in the Book of Acts that we need to really feed on.  Not much in the Bible concerning Luke as a physical but seems he followed the Disciples around and certain became attached to Apostle Paul.

So this evening we are going to as a gathering work together chapter by chapter going through Acts to look for living truth from God.   The first doctrine that is really clear is that you can be a Christian and not yet filled or empowered by the Holy Spirit.   The disciple became Christians when 40 days before they had the Holy Spirit restored to them in the ‘Upper Room.”  John 20:22.  So Christ Jesus restored the spiritual life that had been lost with Adam, Gen.2:7 as the spirit of life.  That is why in John 3:7, Jesus tells Nicodemus that he needed to be born again.   And in the Lord’s resurrection HE made that possible.   But even after being born again, Rom.10:9-10 the Holy Spirit has a further ministry of giving power: Acts 1:8. to become like Jesus.  Acts 1:8.

Next doctrine of interest to me is in Acts 1:11 which gives us a hint of the pre-tribulation Rapture as Jesus appears to be alone and not with the army of Rev. 19.   “This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.  ( Meaning no horse nor army as in the 2nd Advent at Armageddon. )

Next thing, seems to me, is Peter wanting to run things.  They are told to wait for the Holy Spirit and after they receive power then “ye shall be my witnesses” Acts 1:8,  Speak,  Luke 12:12,  guide,  John 14:26.    So Peter set about to restore the 12 with drawing lots without being told or guided by the Holy Spirit as yet the Holy Spirit had not been given and so Matthias who was never heard from again.   Later it seems to me that Jesus selected Paul to fit that vacancy.  The twelve Apostles are the 12 foundations of New Jerusalem and are seated as 12 of the Elders before the throne of Christ Jesus.   It seems to me that Paul’s name must be among them.  So in this sense Acts is also a History of what happened in reality.  Not that all done was according to the will of GOD.  Like the fight between Barnabas and Paul,  Acts 15:39, Gal.2:13  so Acts is also a history of what was done as not always guided by the Holy Spirit.

Now that is just what I see as doctrine in the 1st Chapter of the Book of Acts of 28 chapters.  In tonight’s gathering I would like to see if we all can read, understand and extract the Pure Truth of God from this wonderful little book of anointed history written by Luke, the physician.

Yours in HIS great love and Wonderful Grace and Mercy,   Ken<><

There is but ONE Church of Christ Jesus as LORD

"REFORMATION" ++++ TIDAL WAVE of "CHANGE" in THE CHURCH by Andrew Strom 0/16/21 "WORTH CONSIDERING" from Ken Smith, This article is about why any coming Revival must also be a "Great Reformation" as much as anything else. Many Christians take the attitude that the structures and message and model and the entire approach of modern Christianity is "mostly fine" - and just needs a little 'tweaking' here and there. I completely disagree with this. I believe God has plans for a large-scale overhaul - at least as big as the largest Reformations in history. Below are some questions that I feel need addressing: Does it matter that virtually nothing we do today was done like that in the original church? Our structures, our preaching, our priorities, our systems, our training, our GOSPEL - none of them seem to bear more than a passing resemblance to the Bible. In every way we are UTTERLY DIFFERENT from the church founded by Jesus and the apostles. When you take these issues one by one they may seem insignificant. But when you add them all up - can anyone tell me why we don't just call ourselves a DIFFERENT RELIGION and be done with it? I mean, we are virtually nothing like them, are we? We talk a lot about "getting back to the book of Acts" today. But what if it involves removing all this junk? Who's going to take out the garbage? Is anybody really prepared to pay that kind of price? The rejection? The bitterness? The hatred? Revival is one thing. "Reformation" is quite another. You can get killed with Reformation. Go ask Martin Luther. One thing I am convinced of. There needs to be a large "ground-swell" of ordinary people desperate for 'CHANGE' for Reformation to succeed. And I'm not sure that we see that yet. There is certainly the beginnings of it. But I don't think it is enough. And I don't know what will bring the breakthrough. There needs to be a widespread sense of desperation. I think it is growing, but I don't know how long it will take. And I, for one, am not about to sustain a one-man crusade to keep the pot stirring until then. A 'groundswell' is God's business - not mine. But I am truly convinced that there must be 'Reformation' along with the coming Revival. There must be a new wineskin, otherwise we will just find ourselves with another 3-year Revival, like so many that have gone before. Old wineskins leak. That is the lesson of history. They cannot preserve a Revival. As an historian I can tell you that the most long-lasting moves of God ALWAYS had a strong element of 'Reformation' about them. If a 'new wineskin' was created then sometimes they were able to last for an entire generation. Glory to God! Can you imagine that? I am convinced that for the last 500 years, since the Great Reformation, God has used each wave of Revival to restore the church more and more to its original state. The first things He restored were 'justification by faith' and the 'priesthood of all believers'. Then in later moves of God we see the teaching of the 'new birth' and 'baptism by immersion' and 'holiness' being restored. Huge movements burst forth, evangelizing the earth and restoring lost Biblical truths. Just over the last century alone, the original "Baptism of the Holy Spirit" and all the gifts have finally been restored to the church. And since the 1960's virtually every Revival that has occurred around the world has been a full-on Holy Spirit- filled Revival full of healings and miracles from God. ll the pieces are in place for a last great push - a full return to the simplicity, the purity and the power of the early church. Despite all the advances, we have never seen an actual 'Book of Acts' church in all her raw beauty, holiness and power. Remember, Jesus is returning for a church that is "without spot or wrinkle or any such thing". I am praying that this coming Revival will see the end of the 'Reformation' process that has been ongoing now for 500 years. I pray that this will be the one that sees the final abandonment of all that is of 'Religion' - and a return to the pristine purity of the original. When this process is complete, I believe that ONLY THEN can Jesus return for His beautiful Bride. But all the timing is God's. And much preparation of HEART is needed, along with structural change. In fact, as I have always emphasized, it is the HEART issues that are the most important things. As I said, all the pieces are now in place. Will you pray with me for one last great Revival and Reformation, my friends? God bless you all. Kindest regards in Christ, Andrew Strom. Aloha Saints,  Family and  Friends,   Beloved of Jesus and me,    John 3:16,   12:24-26,   17:20-24

It is an extremely difficult awareness of 9/11 those many years ago, that we are reminded of today.  But even a deeper horror for the lives lost that day is how many of them had used their freewill to the point of making peace with God through Christ Jesus as LORD?  How many would be thankful on the other side that they were ready to go in that time of last moments?

The Bible clearly teaches that each of us is born with a freewill and an eternal soul.   Our life on planet earth in this temporary dimension of time is given us to learn how to use our Freewill in righteousness and to learn to love God, ourselves and each other.  And to accept and submit to Christ Jesus as both LORD & SAVIOR.  Otherwise we will not be invited into the Loving Righteous Kingdom of God and enjoy a brand new eternal body to house our Eternal soul.   If any soul rejects Gods salvation and the righteousness provided by Christ Jesus, there is only eternal night with total recall of opportunities missed and a soul with no body,  which  means no possibility of any kind of communications.  Jude mentioned it as being a wandering star for whom the midst of darkness is reserved for eternity.  Jude 13:   “Wild waves of the sea, flinging up the foam of their own shame and disgrace; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of eternal darkness has been reserved forever.  The whole little letter is packed with Gods Truth.

As far as the Church goes,  of Christ Jesus, what we have now is not that Church.  What we have now is a very poor imitation of the meaning of the word,  CHURCH.  The True CHURCH of Christ Jesus WILL BE powerful in the HOLY SPIRIT in perfect unity and obedience.  You can read a lot in the New Testament of what the real Church will look like when completed.  What we mostly have today is mostly a play church that Paul prophesies about in 2 Tim.3:1-5:   “But understand this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear].  2 For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane.  3 [They will be] without natural [human] affection (callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); [they will be] slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good.  4 [They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God.5 For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them].”   And in most so called traditional theater churches today we find the same stuff if we look in the dark corners.  So here are some scriptures to consider in looking for the Real Church of Christ Jesus.
1 Cor. 12:5-31   Many parts yet working together as one body.
John 17:              The prayer of Jesus for the unity of faith, love and truth in HIS CHURCH
Eph. 4:11-16,      The True Church is fitly joined and compacted by living stones, compacted..
2 Peter 3:14        “We are to be ready at HIS return with out spot, blemish or moral conflicts.”
Rev. 12:11,      “In the resurrection, Jesus uses the CHURCH to boot lucifer out of the heavens to bring                                      glory   to His name through HIS Church”
Eph. 4:1,         The Church is perfected by Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and                                                                 Teachers,   So far we are yet lacking in some of the Elders that we need.
1 Cor.14:23-33 The TRUE CHURCH is the people, not the steeple. It is the orderly assemble  of the                                         people      in Love, Holiness & Power coming together to minister to one another in the Holy                      Spirit.  Notice the Acts 2:42-42, The progression..  Last thing mentioned was “Great and Mighty                         Signs were done by the apostles. When was the last time you experienced that happening?

If further interested in the Biblical Progression of a gathering goto:   “” and then to the link:   “Keys To The Kingdom” And then to “Early Church” & “House Church.”

The concept that we can agree to dis-agree is wrong.  If we are truly wanting to know any truth about God to facilitate HIS Kingdom HE is honor bound to share that truth with us.  But we need to knock, seek and ask and we will surely be held responsible for what we know is God’s Truth.

Think about it, have you ever been to a wedding where the bride came directly in being dirty after working on a farm or in a garden all day?  So from where we are now, denominations will need to go as there is but ONE CHURCH of Christ Jesus as LORD.   Need to find Unity in love.   And that church must become fully submitted to the Commandments in loving humility and obedience that Jesus set before her when here.   All of the non-Biblical traditions will need to be trashed.

First thing in the 1st Resurrection is to receive a new Eternal Body like Jesus.   Second thing to happen is the wages, gifts and rewards that were done in life out of love for HIM.  1 Cor.3:11-15.   Then the 3rd thing to happen, Rev. 12:11 Where the Church with Michael and the Angels of God boot lucifer and his fallen ones out of the heavens, Ezek 28:18 and all this by Mid-Trib. 3 ½ years after the Rapture.   Then as the Heavens are purged of the darkness, we are to become the Church/Bride/Body/Rod of Iron joined to Christ Jesus for Eternity.  Fitly joined to Him for HIS plans for God’s Universe.   4th we then return with Jesus to help clean up the mess after Jesus destroys the army’s of the world gathered for Armageddon.  5th There is the thousand year Kingdom of Christ Jesus with the curse of Adam lifted so like the Garden of Eden.  6th an opportunity of those folks to choose light or darkness with the last war.  7th God destroys the army’s and has a 2nd Resurrection and all dead stand before God for the final judgment.   And then, a brand new earth and the heavens (solar system) wherein dwells Righteousness.  And all who live there will want to be there and serve willingly in love.   No death, no time, no jails, no police, no trash, no toilets, the former things are all passed away.  Too much to give you all the scriptures on two pages but have attached a 11 page paper for more details if interested.

Yours in HIS great Love and Wonderful Grace and Mercy,   Ken<><

Aloha Saints,  Family & Friends,  beloved of Jesus and me,   John 3:16

In the beginning, Adam had difficulty with authority, in fact most of the Bible is the story about what happens when we violate God’s loving Authority (Sowing & Reaping.)  Rom.8.   The difficulty is that the GOD kind of authority is from the bottom up and not the top down unless there is no room left for repentance.

Our Creator is seeking to gather a family who wants to be loving and obedient in humility and righteousness by choice.  There will be no police or jails in the new Kingdom that HE is building.  There will be no waste nor toilets nor a constant war with dirt and decease and bugs.  God’s sustaining energy will be pure, the life sustained by HIS energy will be pure and have no waste.

But In our creation it was needed for us to feel independent so that our freewill would not be manipulated.  As love is invalid without freewill.  And as God is Love to become like HIM we have to learn how to love.    So we could look at a tree and seek who made it or we could cut it down and make it into an idol or anything that we wanted to.  We can seek, ask & knock and find out about GOD or not.  We can be self centered and try to be the master of our own destiny or yield our rights to God in Christ Jesus as Lord and have the help of the Holy Spirit in finding out about our Creator.  We can in pride become an atheist or an agnostic or join a cult or find our Creator and allow HIM to change us into HIS image and likeness (Gen.1:26) if we want to.  We are free to allow our eternal soul to be swallowed up in darkness or in light, the choice is totally ours.

In the creation of an eternal heavenly family our Creator has allowed us a life time to learn how to use our freewill to serve ourselves or to serve HIM.  But upon our death that choice becomes eternal.  So the Bible was given to us through God’s Prophets to share the vision of what our Loving Creator has invited us to enjoy, if we want to.  But HE has also allowed lucifer, (god of this world) to also try to manipulate us to stay as a part of  the kingdom of this world.   As the children of Adam and Noah we have grown up in a dark world filled with wars, hate, lust, bitterness, unforgiveness, debts and a lot of other junk like the movies that we may find entertaining.  And there are many hooks to try to keep us attached to this world.  Problem is, this world will be terminated along with lucifer in judgment and us with it if we don’t use this opportunity of life to change our citizenship.   We need to renounce our Citizenship to this world, and make a whole hearted application to the Kingdom of God if we believe in the invitation to live with our Creator God.  1 John 2:15-17, “  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”

And It is not about keeping the LAW, it is about having a living relationship with the Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus as LORD.  Last night, the Holy Spirit, told me to write on Authority today ????  So I set down about 30 minutes ago and started writing and this is what happened and what  I am sending you today.  It is like the Book of Hebrew that notes that Israel never kept the Sabbath,  never found the true meaning of resting in the Lord.   Heb.4:6.   Also Paul in Romans 14:4-6.    One of the main issues with the Jews was with Jesus not keeping the Sabbath.   Jesus walked, healed and harvested grain to eat on the Sabbath.   He taught that the Sabbath was made for man and not man the Sabbath.   It was to be a day set aside to help us secure communications with our Creator.   As Christians we are to be walking in this level of contact 24/7 of each and every day.   In obedience to the Holy Spirit any and every day could be a day not to work or to work.  It is not about work.   It is about learning to be sensitive and obedient to the Holy Spirit.   Read Hebrews 4,  the whole chapter….  It is about the Sabbath and learning to walk in the Spirit so that we don’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh.   We really don’t know who wrote the Book of Hebrews but it sure is top drawer with me as to spiritual information.   If my little  farm is being guided by the Holy Sprite it will be a big help to the Kingdom of God.   But if it is just me wanting to make a name for myself and set up my own little kingdom, it will come to nothing.  So the Sabbath Rest is us really about learning to walk in the Spirit and to cease from our own efforts to build stuff for our own little egos.  “Unless the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it.”  If it is not the Holy Spirit guiding me/us, it will all come to nothing.

If you need some help with any questions, please feel free to get back to me.   It will not be a bother.  I write this “Worth Considering” blog in hope to help you find the Kingdom of God and come in out of the rain and get warmed up by the fires of GOD.

In world events it is looking much like we are at the end of the age of the Gentiles, Luke 21 and getting very close to the Rapture, 1 Cor.15:42-58,    1 Thess.4:13- 5:11 Read whole chapters….

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful Grace & Mercy,    Ken<><

Worthy Brief – September 9, 2021 is well “WORTH CONSIDERING.”   REALLY !!!!
Worthy Brief <;
“The first month of the Jewish year begins with Passover. Two thousand years ago, the new age began with the crucifixion of Yeshua (Jesus) on the Cross on Passover! Next, Messiah rose from the dead precisely on day of the celebration of first fruits. Then, fifty days later, the Feast of Shavout (Pentecost) began the celebration of the harvest season. This day marked the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the beginnings of the first harvest right here in Jerusalem as three thousand souls came into the kingdom!

Now, here we are, in the midst of the summer harvest — the harvest of souls, awaiting the great sound of the trumpet! When the trumpet sounds — it shall be the beginning of a new age when “this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality!”

So as we celebrate Rosh Ha Shana or Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets), it’s a reminder that this age is soon coming to a close — that the summer will soon end and there will be no more days to work. Let’s take heed the sound of the shofar and rise to this awesome occasion!”

Hi ken
Many years ago, when I was just beginning to write about spiritual things, i wrote this. I hope you can use it…

By Christian Scott Berg

As I have studied the Bible over the years, it has been impressed on my heart that:

  •      The meaning and design behind creation is the Bride of Christ.
  •      The economy of God’s creation is love and companionship.

Inspired by these truths, the Holy Spirit guided me in writing the following commentary.  It is my hope that my thoughts will excite your spirit into a greater relationship of love with Jesus our Betrothed.  Marriage is the central theme throughout scripture.  The history of humanity begins and ends with a wedding, beginning with the marriage of Adam and Eve (Gen. 2;18-24) and ending with the marriage of The Lamb (Jesus) to His bride (Rev. 19:7-9).

God created humanity in His own image.  God said, “Let us make man in our image, like us.”  (Gen. 1:26)  We have the same spiritual DNA as God The Creator of all that is.  The angels and other spiritual beings do not possess God’s DNA, only humanity.  God in all of His glory desires a loving companion, a relationship, only with redeemed humanity.  “for your Maker is your husband.”  (Isa. 54:5)  This thought is so awesome and overwhelming the finite mind can scarcely comprehend it.

This life and the meaning of it are to prepare us to be The Bride of Christ.  We must begin to establish a relationship with our Husband to be.  If He does not know us, He will not marry us.  Remember the Parable of The Ten Virgins?  Five of them were not prepared and were not allowed into the wedding.  The reason given by the Lord for them not being allowed into the wedding was that, He did not know them.  Though we are not the bride now, we are His fiancée.  Paul says, “I betroth you to Christ as a pure virgin.”  (2 Cor. 11:2).  And Isaiah 62:5 says, ” For as a young man takes a virgin for his wife, so will your maker be married to you:  and as a husband has joy in his bride, so will the Lord your God be glad over you”.  John the Baptist said this, “The bride belongs to the bridegroom.  The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice.  That joy is mine, and it is now complete”.  (John 3:29).

You have been chosen by the creator of the universe to be His bride.  This should give you all the self worth and affirmation you will ever need in life.  All of creation, every star in the sky, every raindrop, is for you.  Every problem and blessing in life is for your benefit.  It is all part of God’s plan to prepare you to become His Bride, to co-reign with Christ.  God decided before the worlds were ever formed to have a companion that would love Him.  How would He choose this companion, this bride and where would she come from?  She could not be an angel for angels are not of His kind.  God desired a bride that could offer Him the one thing He could not produce from His own will.  A bride that could freely choose to love or reject Him.

She would have the ability to give and receive love as well as the ability to deny and reject love.  It would not be a true loving relationship if there were no choice.  His bride would choose to love Him even when circumstances made it easier to deny loving Him.  She would trust Him even though the world would proclaim He does not exist, He is dead and cannot love.  She would love Him even though, she would be persecuted and martyred for it.  She would proclaim her love for Him from the rooftops and encourage others to join her in her love.  Where could such a bride be found and how could she have developed such trust such love for a God she has not seen?

The Holy Trinity is in agreement to share the Holy Realm itself with the Bride of Christ.  Luke 12:32 states, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.”  And Romans 8:17 says, “Now if we are children, then we are heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”  Second timothy 2:11-12 says, “here is a trustworthy saying:  If we died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him.”

I have been a Christian for many years and have always known that God loves me.  I have to admit that my walk has not always been a perfect one as my love for Him did wax and wane.  Though I knew of His great love…Jesus’ sacrifice for me…it was all intellectual.  My experience was similar to watching a romantic love story at the movies, rather than actually being in a romantic loving relationship.

I guess the underlying reason for my distance was that I knew who I was and what I had done in my life.  I knew my faults well.  I had made commitments to God and broken them.  Knowing all of this about myself, plus realizing how great and powerful my Creator was, begged the question, “How can God love me?”

The answer to this question and the revelation knowledge of the Bride of Christ came in an instant, a single unforgettable moment.  That moment became the defining point of my life.  Just as Christ’s birth split time itself in two…BC and AD…so has my life been split into before and after

I was in love with a beautiful lady whom I hoped to marry.  It was late at night and I had just finished reading the Song of Solomon.  I asked the Lord to show me the meaning of the Song and I fell asleep.  In the middle of the night, I awoke and felt the need to pray these words, “Jesus, I love her so much.”  I closed my eyes and I had a vision of her that brought a smile to my face.  “Jesus, show me how to love her, I want to take care of her and comfort her.”

At that very moment, the spirit of God fell on me and in an audible voice I heard these words, “Scott, you mean you want to love her the same way I love you?  Scott, the feelings that you have for her are the same feelings that I have for you.  Scott, I have a vision of you before me all of the time and it brings me joy and a smile to my face.  Scott, I have a love affair with every man and woman’s, every boy and girl’s spirit on earth.  But they do not know it.  I am at the door of their heart wanting to come into them and love them.  But they will not let me.  There is nothing that hurts me more than the rejection of my love.  Scott, I cry over them because they will not let me love them.  Scott, tell them of my love.”

The revelation ended, but still being bathed in His Spirit, I realized that God, my Creator is in love with me and He is emotionally involved with me.  I must have felt as the prophet Daniel did when, “one having the form of a man put his hand on me and gave me strength.  And he said to me, O man greatly loved, have no fear:  peace be with you, be strong and let your heart be lifted up.  And at his words I became strong…”  (Dan. 10:18-19)

The love Jesus has for me is no longer intellectual but emotional.  I no longer see God as a distant force but as the one and only true lover of my soul.

God’s love is of a romantic nature in the purest of interpretations.  Romance has inspired the most beautiful works of art and literature.  It is the most sought after feeling on the planet.  Most advertisements use promises of romance to sell products.  Of course, this is a counterfeit and a very poor substitute, for the romance that Jesus offers the heart.  Jesus will never leave you or forsake you.  He will not divorce you for He is committed to you in this life and the next.  Jesus will tell your heart all of the things it has always wanted to hear.  All of the hurts and pains inflicted by people will be erased by His love.  You will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that His love is for real and will always satisfy your heart.  Jesus will make your life satisfyingly complete.

We possess God’s Spiritual DNA.  His emotions.  His desires.  Even His “hurts”.  The emotions and love I have for my beloved bride, is the same that God has for me and for you.  In times past. my heart had been broken by love betrayed.  The rejection I felt hurt more than any physical pain I had ever known.  Jesus also knows that pain of rejection and of betrayal.

We can all understand the feelings and emotions of romance because we experience them as a part of life.  We can also identify with rejection when our overture of love is spurned.  The reason we understand and identify with all of these emotions is because they are a part of the spiritual DNA that God has created us with.

Jesus is at the door of everyone’s heart knocking and saying, “Let me in.  I want to love you and take care of you.  I want to marry you”.  And when we open our heart to Him, He is as delighted as a man who has proposed marriage to his beloved sweetheart, and hears her whisper, “Yes”.  If our heart remains closed and there is no answer to Jesus’ words of love, His heart is devastated by the pain of rejection.  However, His love continues until the last knock, the last heartbeat, and the last breath.

At this point, I need state that we cannot always trust our emotions.  They have been corrupted by Satan, the curse, and the evil desires of man.  The Godly emotions which have been given to us, and meant for good; Satan has counterfeited and means for evil.  We must weigh our emotions and feelings against God’s Word, The Bible.

God does not fear, have lust, or pride but rather faith, hope, and love.  When God’s love is rejected, He does not respond with anger but with more love.  He is, however, a jealous God and we should place no other gods or things or persons before Him in our lives (see Exodus 20:3-5).  If we do place anything before God, He considers us as adulterers and fornicators (this is cited dozens of times throughout the Old Testament) breaking the fidelity of our relationship with Him.  These emotions give us a glimpse into the heart of God and how He feels about us.  This is so important for us to understand, THAT WE FEEL WHAT GOD FEELS!

God is right at the door of every heart.  He is in pain, for He is being rejected by people who He loves…everyday.  He is hurt deeply by His church in not trusting in Him.  He is being hurt by the bride not longing to be more intimate with him.

A couple in love enjoys spending time talking and listening to each other.  The most important part of the day, is the time they spend with each other.  They are both thinking of ways to express their love to one another; be it through gifts or love notes.  The intent is to express their love and this is the romantic nature of God’s own heart.  Jesus wants to hear from you personally, not some stand in.  How can Jesus marry you if He does not know you?

The Bride of Christ realizes that she can break Gods heart by not giving Him the love He deserves.  Just as a mortal husband and wife must communicate with loving words of affection, so must we communicate with Jesus our divine husband.  My wife and I share each other’s lives.  She knows what issues are troubling me, what challenges I will be facing each day, what blessings have occurred and the nature of my plans and desires.  I also know what is happening in her life.  We discuss the details of our lives.  Thus, should we not do the same with our beloved Jesus?  He desires this type of intimate relationship with us.  He desires to be a part of our lives in every way.

I love my wife and I want to please and bless her.  I do not want to do anything that would hurt her.  I want to give her gifts and acknowledge all of the wonderful things she does for me.  Should I not do the same for my Jesus?

I guarantee you that when you start treating Jesus as a beloved spouse, He will open up His life to you.  You control how much of Jesus you want in your life by how much you allow Him in.  You also control how much of your spouse’s life you share, by how much you let them in to your life.  You are in control of your spiritual marriage as well as your physical marriage.

I suggest to you that if your earthly marriage is not what it should be, your spiritual marriage may not be either.  To improve your earthly marriage, begin to see your spouse as Christ…your other marriage partner…and try to treat them both the same.  If you would not be critical or complaining of Jesus, extend the same courtesy to your spouse.  If you would not think of being abusive or cruel to Jesus, transfer that respect to your mortal spouse.

Our earthly marriage is on the job training for the heavenly marriage that awaits us.  Consider Jesus as the third partner in your marriage.  If you are single, consider yourself being married to Jesus and live your life that way.  The most important thing to remember is, Jesus is madly in love with you and there is nothing you can do about it.  <><

I hope the above has served to introduce you to the topic of the Bride of Christ.  More specific themes to this topic will be added in the months ahead.  We would love to discuss the Bride of Christ with you on our message board.  Please link to it from here.
