PRAYER “WORTH CONSIDERING” 3/19/19
ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS, Beloved of God: John 3:16, 12:24-26, 17:20-26
Today’s Scripture
“…For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.” Isa. 46:9-10
(Isaiah 46:9–10, NLT)
Trust God’s Wisdom
Many people pray very boldly for things that never come to pass; it’s only later that they realize what a blessing it was that God did not answer their prayer! It’s easy to look at our current situation and wonder why that relationship didn’t work out, why the promotion went to someone else, or why the business deal fell through. We can only see one moment at a time, but God knows how today’s situations will impact us tomorrow, next week, or even ten years from now! Sometimes the best thing that can happen to you is the exact opposite of what you want to happen at the time. God knows the end from the beginning, and He always has the sequence of events in your life in perfect order. Stay in faith and trust that just as God opens doors, He also closes doors because He has something better in store for you. You’re about to see new growth, new talents, new opportunities.
A Prayer for Today
“God, I’m so glad that You have the infinite wisdom to take perfect care of me. Give me the ability to rest in Your wisdom and not rely on my own. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
My Comments: Ken<><
OK, so folks who can not tell the difference between GOD, our own voices or the enemy are getting a lot of NO’S, I would expect that. So a lot of time goes up in wasted UN-anointed prayer time that does not work and in fact is in a wrong direction. And then it seems that the blame goes on GOD for us being hard of hearing and listening to the wrong voices. So seems to me that if our prayers are not being answered then we need to better find the will of God so we can be in good unity with HIM. Jesus prayed for us to find this out in John 17. Take a bit of time and study HIS prayer. It is a prayer that will totally come to pass even the versus 20-26 Unity part which seems so unlikely.
So let’s take a moment to consider just a few verses on what Jesus teaches concerning Prayer:
Matt. 21:13, …”It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Matt.21:22, …”And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
Luke 22:45, …”And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow.”
And further what the disciple learned from Jesus about prayer.
Acts 2:42, …”And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
Acts 6:4,…”But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”
Rom.10:1, …”For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
Rom>12:12,…”Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.”
Eph.6:18, …”Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
This is really a great study with many many other scriptures to consider. So, personally, 1st I feel that there is personal prayer and unified prayer. The Word tells us to take time to be private and personal so that you can be flat footed honest. And also to pray with and for each other. 2nd, Prayer is simply talking to GOD and giving HIM space to talk to you. So 3, You need to get to know HIS voice, HE already knows yours and what you call HIM in your comfort zone is not important. But that you can know what to pray for, comes from HIM.
I watched the War Room again concerning prayer with some friends and I liked the idea of pasting the requests upon the wall with an empty box in the beginning to be able to check when the prayer was answered. What a faith builder. The room idea was nice but not essential. A 3 x 5 note pad in the pocket could do the same thing anywhere. And it is amazing once you walk through that door of Holy Spirit Initiated Prayer how comfortable it gets to just talk to God all day long. When I am alone driving, for me that is a good time for me to pray and some times I get into Worship and singing in the Spirit and have a great time. Much to much of a private person to do so otherwise unless the Holy Spirit kicks me out of my comfort zone. I have been toying with putting a Jesus sticker <>< on the back of my truck. But some one might just call 911. But can still drive OK, if you are concerned. Of course could miss my next turn.
1 John 5:13-15, puts it this way
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
So our Creator God is very interested for you and me to learn to know HIS voice and HIS will. And within that blessing to ask and receive. And it is not a form, written words from a book, a marathon, traditions, positions or anything external at all. Answered Prayer simple comes out of HIS great love for them who LOVE and OBEY Christ Jesus as LORD and SAVIOR and then learn to talk to HIM from the heart in loving faith. Also HE has a wonderful sense of humor. Cracked me up today over something that we were talking together about but it was personal…. I could sense HIM laughing as well.
