What’s Next
Have you noticed what is now happening in our world? Wars, Earthquakes, Floods, Hurricanes, Famines, Apostasy and Plagues. Basically what God destroyed Sodom for has even been promoted in our schools. And the number of unborn children killed now exceeds the deaths in all of our past wars. And the whole pacific rim of fire (volcanoes) is now going off with Hawaii in the middle.
Our Bible tells us that God will do nothing without first telling us what He is going to do. Amos 3:7, “Surely the Lord God will do nothing without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets.” But “Content without Context is Pretext.” And that makes for error or apostasy.
So where are we? The Prophecy of Jesus given to John would put us obviously in the 7th or last Church as per Rev. 3:14-22. The Apostate Church. And that is the last time the word church is used and ties together time line wise Rev.5 -6 with Rev.19:4. Rev.7-18 tells us then what happens on earth for 7 years. In Gen. 1:26, we are told what God is about to do in creating man in His Image and Likeness. 2 Peter 3:8 give us a time line: “Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape you, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. And the Sabbath of the week is: And in Revelation 20, that old serpent [of primeval times], who is the devil and Satan, and [securely] bound him for a thousand years” An Eden Sabbath Rest for the promises of Abraham. (After this comes the final judgment and the end of this time dimension and this temporary world as we know it for a new heavens and a new earth with no sun and no sea.) So we are now about 6,000 years into a 7,000 year week of 7 days on the Lord’s time.
So we are about into Matt.24:37, Luke 21:36, Luke 13:26-36 is a little less specific except for the coming in the clouds, Dan. 7:13-14, Rev.5:1-10. For the “Day of The Lord” 1 Thess. 4:13-18 & 1 Thess.5:1-6 & 2 Thess.2:1-12. & There is what will be happening in heaven and what will also happen on earth at the same time, in the same 7 years. In Heaven it will be the completion of the Bride of Christ, Also called the church, Body of Christ, Rod of Iron, or Wife. And on earth, the Great Tribulation of God’s WRATH for what was done to Jesus and this planet.
In Heaven during that 7 years there are five events to happen.
1. Instantly receive new Eternal Bodies, 1 Thess.4:17, 2 Cor.5:2
2. Rewards for what was done out of love for Jesus. 1 Cor.3:11-15, Rev.22:12
3. Rev. 12:11, The Church has the testimony of Jesus and boots lucifer from heaven.
4, Then there is the Union of Christ to His Church before the Father, Rev.19:6-14
5. Then all of the families of God get together for a big Love feast. Rev.19:9-10.
On Earth during that Great Tribulation: Rev.6 & 12 are time line chapters for the 7 years but 7-11 & 13-18 tell us mostly about that 7 years of God’s Wrath except for the 7 Thunder Judgments, of Revelation 10:4. We are now experiencing the “Birth Pains” as noted in Matt.24 for the gathering of the Body of Christ together, 1 Cor. 12. And the falling away as noted by Paul: 2 Thess. 2:3, “Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition),” Many stop here rather than read the whole thought to verse 12 and miss out on what Paul is trying to tell us. This is the overview but the details come in verses 4-12. This is where Paul is telling us that the antichrist is now being held in check till what is restricting him is removed. And it is not Michael as they both have equal power. It is when the Church is evacuated with the Holy Spirit by Jesus that the antichrist is released to rule the world as he has always wanted to do and is judged by God.
So back to 1 Thess. 5:2 as to what Paul is referring to: “For you yourselves know perfectly well that the day of the [return of the] Lord will come [as unexpectedly and suddenly] as a thief in the night. When people are saying, All is well and secure, and, There is peace and safety, then in a moment unforeseen destruction (ruin and death) will come upon them as suddenly like the labor pains come upon a woman with child; and they shall by no means escape, for there will be no escape. 4 But you are not in given up to the power of darkness, brethren, for that day to overtake you by surprise like a thief. 5 For you are all sons of light and sons of the day; we do not belong either to the night or to darkness. 6 Accordingly then, let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us keep wide awake (alert, watchful, cautious, and on our guard) and let us be sober (calm, collected, and circumspect). 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But we belong to the day; therefore, let us be sober and put on the breastplate of faith and love and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not appointed us to [incur His] wrath [He did not select us to condemn us], but [that we might] obtain [His] salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) 10 Who died for us so that whether we are still alive or are dead [at Christ’s appearing], we might live together with Him and share His life. 11 Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another, just as you are doing.” So Then it is easier to understand 2 Thess. 2:1-10. As Paul is building more doctrine upon his letter of 1 Thess. 4 & 5. And verse 9 is very clear concerning God’s Wrath to come as also in Hebrews.
Heb. 10:25, “ Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching. 26 For if we go on deliberately and willingly sinning after once acquiring the knowledge of the Truth, there is no longer any sacrifice left to atone for [our] sins [no further offering to which to look forward]. 27 [There is nothing left for us then] but a kind of awful and fearful prospect and expectation of divine judgment and the fury of burning wrath and indignation which will consume those who put themselves in opposition [to God]. How much worse (sterner and heavier) punishment do you suppose he will be judged to deserve who has spurned and [thus] trampled underfoot the Son of God, and who has considered the covenant blood by which he was consecrated common and unhallowed, thus profaning it and insulting and outraging the [Holy] Spirit [Who imparts] grace (the unmerited favor and blessing of God)?
