JOY ! “WORTH CONSIDERING” 2/22/19 (Across my desk this morning with lots of other stuff.)

Today’s Scripture
“Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it…”
(Genesis 1:28, NLT)

Too Busy For Joy
Are you missing out on the joys of life because you are too busy? God called you to be fruitful; He never called you to be busy. Don’t get activity mixed up with productivity. Just because you are on the go and always doing things doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re fulfilling God’s best plan for your life. All work and no play is not healthy. Ask the Lord to show you which areas need to be cut back and which areas need more focus. Ask Him to show you which relationships to let go of and which relationships to develop in your life. Stop allowing the unproductive areas of your life to consume all of your time, focus, and energy. As you make adjustments to bring balance to your schedule, you will have room for the activities and relationships that bring you joy and peace.

A Prayer for Today
“God, order my steps today. Help me to prioritize and to focus on those things that honor You and fulfill Your plan for my life. There may be relationships, commitments, and activities that I have to let go of; give me the courage to do so. I want to slow down, restore balance, and experience more joy in my life!”

My Comments:
First off, what comes to mind is “JOY” is different strokes for different folks. For the younger it is one thing, in middle age another and at my age it is having time with my grand kits and great grand kids and perhaps borrowing some one’s dog for a few moments of chase the ball which is temporal joy. But for me at 86, GOD’S JOY it is in seeing some soul find the light of GOD for their life FOR ETERNITY.

The Word of God gives me Joy, I love the verse in 1 Tim. 1:6-8:
“6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

That promise of God gives me a great amount of Joy and Peace. But it is amazing how many addictions there are in this world that totally lie about giving us really deep down JOY… The Good Book teaches that His Joy is strength, Neh. 8:10. Paul teaches it is a fruit of the Spirit, Gal. 5:22. Jesus taught that Joy was heavenly when a sinner repents, Luke 15:10. and that the WORD of God would fill us with JOY, John 15:11. In fact HE also taught that in faith our prayers being answered would give us JOY. John 17:13. The disciples were filled with JOY with the Holy Spirit, Acts 13:52 And Paul taught that righteousness, peace and Joy came through the Holy Spirit. And so on with Bible Gateway under JOY…. Take a look at joy in the whole Bible.

The difficult part is to let go of the worldly crutches in faith, the worldly things that we have learned to depend upon, the expensive lying addictions. So if you are not free in an area of your life, it cancels out God’s JOY. There may be some laughs but the bill still comes in the morning. There is a long list of stuff that we think are our friends but rob us of GOD’s JOY… FEAR would be a good start. Make your own list and ask HIS help to be free. The Word of God states that we are complete in HIM, Col. 2:10. And Jesus said that HIS TRUTH would set us free, John 8:21.

FLESH “WORTH CONSIDERING 2/21/19 (Across my desk this morning from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV)

God Loves A Giver!
One of the greatest challenges facing our society today is the tendency to live selfish lives. Society teaches us to look out for number one. But did you know that God created us to be givers of His selfless and compassionate love? John 3:16 tells us that God showed His love to us by giving His Son, and we also show our love to others by our giving. You can experience a new level of God’s joy, blessing and favor in your life when you step out and develop a lifestyle of giving. Be a giver rather than a taker. You won’t have to look far before you find someone you can help. First Thessalonians 5:15 says, “See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always aim to show kindness and seek to do good to everybody.” Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to meet the needs of those around you. When you do, you will experience the supernatural joy of giving.

A Prayer for Today
“God, You gave me the ultimate example of self-sacrificial giving. There are so many opportunities to show Your love to others. Every day, I will seek out ways to show kindness and compassion.”

My Comments:
But dog gone it, why can’t I be a Jacob and get away with it? I am totally selfish, I was born that way (me, my, mine and I want what I want when I want it.) And so St. Paul has the same issues and writes about them in Romans 7.10 ” And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. 12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. WANT THE VICTORY? DIGEST ROMANS 8 !!

Early on in my Christian exploration of Sanctification (Process to make us like God. Gen. 1:26 HIS vision has not changed.) A young man by the name of Bob Newkirk imprinted my life with this vision that he had. In the vision there were two long tables completely full of top drawer food to eat. The folks at both tables had exactly the same access but at one table they had a big mess and every one was starving to death. At the other table all was pristine, folks were happy, full and content. It was a party. Every one had their left arm tied to the chair and a 3 foot spoon tied to the other hand. At one table all were trying to feed themselves and at the other they were feeding each other in love.

We are living in a very temporary body in a dying world where soon even the dimension of time will cease to exist with the creation of a new heaven and earth. We are born into a time of testing as to whether we will love and feed others and learn to submit and give as Christ Jesus gave HIS example with nothing in reserve for self. Or will we have money in our pockets or oil in our lamps? Are we in charge or is the Holy Spirit in charge?

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Change

Prophetic Word: ‘I Am Bringing a Shaking Like an Unstoppable Train’

I woke up shaken. I could not believe I was at home. How did I get back here? I had just been transported as though physically from a place far away. I had heard about people being transported in the Spirit as with Philip in Acts 8:39-40, but I would laugh it off. My laughter has been silenced by what I experienced. It was the real thing.

I stood in the valley of a highway. Suddenly, what appeared to be a huge locomotive train barreled down the highway straight toward me. The wheels shaved the concrete, and its power shook the earth in proclamation” “I don’t need tracks!” I was paralyzed by the terror of it as highways and overpasses crumbled in its wake. Mountains were shaken and surrendered their strength and majesty. All the earth was vulnerable to this all-inclusive power. I was astounded. My whole world was shaking, and yet I was still standing.

I was then transported inside a house on a high hill where a fire had suddenly broken out. I quickly turned off the thermostat and gas controls. The fire seemed to be contained, but I was mistaken. In the distance, which I believe to be the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the tops of tall buildings crumbled and contagious fires raged relentlessly throughout the streets. Then multitudes of cities throughout the earth followed suit. I was then awakened by the terror.

After several weeks of earnest prayer, the Holy Spirit helped me to understand this experience of being transported and provided the interpretation.

‘Son, I Am the Trackless, Unstoppable Locomotive’

The Lord was saying, “Son, I have allowed you to experience this vision in person so you would know the full impact and certainty of it. I am the trackless, unstoppable locomotive. I am coming in a way that many of My people will not recognize as Me. Some will be offended.”

“The terror you experienced as I came near was the fear of the Lord being released in the earth. The fear of the Lord brings a great shaking. Some people will turn from Me, but many more will become deeply committed. This shaking alone will bring in an unprecedented harvest of souls. The crumbling highways and overpasses were man-made structures built in order to reach Me. With great force I will shake those man-made spiritual structures and religious spirits that have prevented Me from coming to them.”

He said, “You have been faithful in disliking religious spirits, but you have fallen short in loving religious people. I love them. I want to deliver them. Not loving them invites a religious spirit into your life.”

I saw the fire of God falling on every denomination wherever there was a smell of smoke from a flickering flame of love gone out long ago. People in all denominations will be visited by a rekindling, as well as so-called Spirit-filled churches.

“A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not quench, until He renders judgment unto victory” ( Matt. 12:20 ).

‘My Fire Is Beginning to Invade These Mountains and Bring Them Into My Kingdom’

God continued saying, “The mountains you saw caving in represent the seven mountains of the kingdoms of this world. The church, family, education, government, media, arts and entertainment, and business and finances.”

“My fire is beginning to invade these mountains to redeem and bring them into My kingdom. The reason you couldn’t stop the fire in the house is because the fire is of Me. I am coming this hour through the fires of adversity and affliction to bring whole families back together again into My kingdom. Their troubles have come to bless them.”

“The pride of man in what he has made are the fallen, far-off city structures. Pride is crumbling. The contagious fires of God raging in the streets of cities are the certainty of the vision in its influence.”

Sidewalks and gutters in the streets were now burning with unquenchable fire falling upon the homeless and red-light districts. Graveclothes were being burned off those bound in prisons and spiritual cemeteries.

There’s a whole lot riding on this train.

PRAYER “WORTH CONSIDERING” 2/20/19 Across my desk this morning.

Today’s Scripture
“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” (Psalm 5:3, NIV)

Expect God’s Best
Our God is a God of “suddenlies!” Suddenly, He breaks an addiction. Suddenly, your health improves. Suddenly, you are given that promotion. When you keep your heart open, expectant and filled with faith, God goes to work. In the same way Jesus turned the five loaves of bread and two fish into lunch for 5,000 men (Matthew 14:17), God will take your faith in Him and turn it into the provision you need! The enemy’s goal is to get you discouraged so you will give up and settle where you are. Don’t be deceived! No matter how many disappointments you’ve encountered, God can turn things around for you in a split second of time! One touch of His favor can suddenly restore relationships! One touch of His goodness can solve that problem you’re facing today! Just one touch from Almighty God can instantly change your life!

A Prayer for Today
“God, each day I come before You with my joys, my concerns, my praises, and my requests. I will wait patiently and expectantly for Your answer. In Jesus’ name – Amen.”

My Comments:
For me the word prayer is not to say a subscribed set of words or to be in a position. For me it is simple stopping my brain action and talking to the Holy Spirit as though HE were in the other chair or riding next to me in my truck. It is taking time in humility to listen as a child. It is a time of being an emotional nudist as there is nothing about me that He does not already know. It is a time of profound honesty. Sometimes I start of rather familiar, “Aloha Dad, How am I doing? What do I do about this or that? Ask Him to bring my family into HIS Kingdom like the Philippian Jailer where Peter said, “Believe on the Lord and thou shalt be saved and thy house,” Acts 16:31. And listen for correction and what HE wants me to do.

Actually the LORD’s “Our Father” Prayer ( Matt. 6:9 ) was a way (a manner) to pray, a list of subjects to consider and not a mantra to be said mindlessly. The only true prayer that we have of our Lord Jesus is in John 17, now that is a prayer. And Jesus even prayed in faith for us today in 17:20-26 and ask the Father for some really good stuff for us, HIS CHURCH (verse 22, trade glory for power ) when HIS CHURCH finally finds Unity in Love. Carefully study the wording of verse 22…..

So for me prayer is simple making time and space for a 2 way conversation between me and the Holy Spirit. And the more that I get into it the more I get to know HIS voice and can tell the rest of the voices to take a hike including my own. “And I am still working on getting it right.” But it has to be learned so as to be like breathing and that can happen at any time, regardless of what I may be doing. So learning to be a peace in my spirit without baggage is a learning process so I can pray effectively all the time and any time like the Good Book says, 1 Thess.5:16-18

VICTORY: “WORTH CONSIDERING” 2/19/19 ((Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“But thanks be to God,who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.” (2 Corinthians 2:14, NIV)

Follow God to Victory
Have you ever noticed that you often face your greatest attacks when you’re about to give birth to the dreams God placed in your heart? The enemy waits until you’re close to the promotion, close to the breakthrough. He’ll strike when you’re just about to step up to a new level. Don’t be surprised if you face opposition or go through a disappointment. Perhaps a friend whom you were counting on is not there. Or, it’s taking longer than you expected. That simply means you’re about to give birth to what God has placed in your heart. The good news is, the forces that are for you are greater than the forces that are against you. Your destiny cannot be stopped by a bad break, by disappointments, by opposition or by other people. God always causes you to triumph. He says, “No weapon formed against you will ever prosper.”

A Prayer for Today
“God, even when I am under fire from the enemy I will rise up and claim victory over sin and defeat with You by my side. Thank you for leading me toward a life of joy and abundance. I will faithfully follow Your direction. ”

My Comments:
I can sure say AMEN to that one. My Inn was sold about a year ago and the funds were made available for a new place to live. There were many options but felt strongly guided to secure a property next door to my daughter in Kealia about 17 miles south of Kailua Kona where we had been living. The price was right, considering that it needed a total remodel and cleanup for the 24′ x 40′ dingbat single wall constructed home of 1973 and a 1/2 acre+ full of rocks. We are now a year later and the house has been totally remodeled, the carport rebuilt and my study added. We now have a common area with a 2nd kitchen and bath which will accommodate about 25 for a meal. And we are building a barn/ohana for having a place for guests to visit. But the last year has been the most difficult of my life, and especially at my age. A total battle field of building obstruction and gout and other foot issues so in pain much of the time. But praise the LORD, the Light is beginning to shine, the healing has started in the LORD and the Vision is coming alive as I cling in faith to Romans 8:26-37

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

And it would appear that the LORD has used this year to deal soundly with some flesh still alive in my life. So many times I have been tempted to just quit and run. So it seems that more has been done in me spiritually than in what I have been trying to do physically. I know that I am now much more in touch with the Holy Spirit than ever before. Much more ready to meet the LORD in the clouds when HE comes for HIS CHURCH. And much more able to minister HIS WORD in love and truth than ever before. So naked came I into this world and naked goeth I forth, Praise be the Name of the LORD. Ecc. 5:15, Job 1:21… You know, Job was tested due to his fear: Job 3:25 but that is another story…. Fear is faith going backwards, Be Blessed in your day, Ken<><

LISTENING for God, “WORTH CONSIDERING” 2/18/19 ( Across my desk today)

Today’s Scripture
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27, NIV)

When Routine Becomes A Rut
Do you have a daily routine? The truth is, much of life is routine, and we can become stagnant if we’re not careful. We need to take the time to stop and listen to God’s voice. Maybe He’s telling you it’s time to get some better relationships. Perhaps He has a different career path or job opportunity for you. Maybe the Lord is just encouraging you to develop a positive attitude or healthier habits. Is God asking you to step out of your comfort zone? You can’t stay in the safe zone all of your life and expect to fulfill your highest potential. Be bold and willing to do something out of your usual routine that honors God in a greater way. When you take the initiative and move from your “safe zone” to your “faith zone,” that is when God will move on your behalf and begin to do greater things in your life. In Jesus’ name – Amen.

A Prayer for Today
“God, it’s time for me to be still and listen. As I spend time in prayer and in the Word, speak to me, O Lord. Tell me what I need to hear and give me the courage to make the desires and dreams of my heart come to pass. ”

My Comments:
Of all of the teaching in the whole Bible this is probable one of the most important. To be able to hear GOD, The Holy Spirit, speak to you in your heart (subconscious, ed) is profoundly important. Hearing God speak to me has saved my life 3 times that I am aware of and totally changed the direction of my life at least twice. There are thousands of verses in the Bible concerning learning to hear the Voice of God. In writing to you often His presence is so real that it is like HE is here in my Study writing through my hands thoughts that are way beyond my training and abilities. I could fill up many pages full of scripture on this subject but rather than giving you a fish, allow me to teach you how to fish this time.

It is not as thorough as a Strong’s Concordance but it is so very fast and easy and blows away the cobwebs so fast.

Back in the Big Revival of the late 60’s and early 70’s in the Pilgrim ministry in Kona was a very lovable brother who would sing Isa. 6-5 set to music, I loved it, I could nearly see the LORD as Arussus would sing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fyygi15Xc98 Not the same tune or impact but gives the idea. Always made me want to be a Holy Man and be close to the LORD…. Another song on the same verse is

Love you much in Jesus, Ken<>< www.Trinity-Aloha.org I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the Temple. Above it stood seraphim... And one cried to another and said, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory." And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out and the house was filled with smoke. So I said, "Woe is me for I am undone. Because I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the king, the Lord of hosts" (Isa. 6:1-5). There are at least seven attributes of holiness. 1. High and Lifted Up: There was something lofty and high about this vision of holiness. It is about living on a higher plane. It makes me think about a person riding in a helicopter who is far above the traffic jams of the morning rush hour. Isaiah realized that the person he saw in this vision had something more than he had. He thought to himself, "I want to be close to Him. I want to be with Him. I want to be like Him. I want to be holy." 2. Shining in Light: A being filled with divine presence shines with light. This is called the glory of God. To be holy is to be filled with glory. Holiness is glorious. The whole earth will one day be filled with the glory of God through the children of God. As we become holy, we are also filled with light. 3. Full of Power: Holiness is the opposite of worldliness. To be holy we have to say no to the world, the flesh, and the devil. But holiness is more than just a list of don'ts. After all, holiness existed before worldliness. To be holy is to come into the power of God. It is His ability. In this passage, His very presence shakes the whole building. 4. Splendid in Beauty: This holy and glorious figure is extremely attractive. Holiness is beautiful. The greatest pleasure of the world to come will be simply to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord (Ps. 27:4). This world is also filled with beautiful things. We can be drawn to the things of this world by the lust of our eyes. However, the beauty of the Lord in his holiness is more beautiful and more attractive than the things of this world. We have something better to look at. We can worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness. (Ps. 96:9). 5. Spiritually Clean: When someone is holy, they are free from guilt and shame. They are not dirty on the inside. Isaiah, who was probably the cleanest person living on the earth in his generation, immediately felt unclean when he looked at this perfectly clean being. He felt unclean and asked to be cleansed. To feel dirty on the inside is a terrible feeling. Just to be free from that sense of uncleanness, to be clean in our conscience, is already worth more than any of the pleasures and lusts of this world. Morally Pure: Holiness is the highest level of purity. It is the highest level of morality. One aspect of holiness is to have pure motives. Many of us have decent and good motives, but even these are not really pure. Even when people do good things, there can be certain underlying selfish motives. To be really pure would be to have our thoughts and motives openly displayed for everyone to see. We can only have truly pure motives when we yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit within us, and act according to His motives. 7. Wholly Perfect: To be holy is to be perfect. Our father in heaven is perfect, and Yeshua calls us to be perfect like Him (Matt. 5:48). After we are saved, we enter into a process of being made perfect by the Holy Spirit. That is the process of sanctification. Through the promises of God, we cleanse ourselves both in spirit and body to become perfect in holiness (2 Cor. 7:1). POWER   “WORTH CONSIDERING   2/15/19     (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“…And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”      (Ephesians 3:17–18, NIV)

Tap into God’s power
You may have things in your life that seem dead—a relationship, a business, your health. Jesus would say to you that He has power over death. God’s love can bring that relationship back to life that seems dead to you and take it to an entirely new level. Maybe you feel that you have a “dead-end job,” or maybe you think your life is going nowhere and you have no purpose. We want to encourage you today! The same power that raised Jesus from the dead can revitalize your career and put you on a path of success. If you start believing again, God is going to resurrect what you thought was dead. You may have tried and failed, but dreams that you’ve given up on are going to suddenly come back to life. Problems that looked permanent are going to suddenly turn around. God has the final say. He hasn’t changed His mind.

A Prayer for Today
“God, today I will be surrounded by Your favor and no weapon formed against me will prosper. You have power over death and I believe that your transforming power can bring hope, peace, joy, and fulfillment to my life. In Jesus’ Name – Amen.”

My Comments:
The Holy Spirit got me up at 3:30 this morning to do this so it must be important for some one?

POWER in the Greek comes from the word:  dunamis, where we get the word dynamite where we translate Holy Spirit. http://abundantministriesfellowship.com/lessons/lesson_2006-05-25.html    Is worth the time to look up.

With a battery for power there is the individual potential power of the battery itself and then the power that can come from many batteries in series or parallel which is greater.   The Church of Christ Jesus also works this same way.   There are mighty men of faith individually and there are congregations of great united power in heart faith where much good is accomplished.  Hebrews 11 is a good place to see this history in action in the Holy Bible.

Paul writes an end time prophesy to Timothy in 2 Tim.3:5 that there would be a time of “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:  from such turn away.”   In John 17:22 Jesus prayed these words, “And the glory (power) which thou gavest me I have given them: that they may be one, even as we are one:”  Notice that the thought of these words is that the Glory or Power would bring HIS servants into being “ONE”….  Read the context: 20-26.

The Enemy has been giving my feet a really tough time this last 6 months,  sometimes like walking on broken glass.  I ask for prayer in “Worth Considering ” the other day and some of you prayed for me.  Yesterday was a good foot day and was able to do some outside work.   Blessings and Thanks.   Not totally healed but on the way and swelling is way down this morning.   So distance make no difference but love, faith and unity does.  Be Blessed in your day.

Jesus left us with these words,   If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.  Jn. 8:7-8 and   And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.  Mark 11:22-24

 

So if you want to get things done,  God’s way, you first must fully charge your own battery by feeding on the Word of God till it is more real than the lusts of the world.   And then you need to find others to join with that are doing the same thing.  “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”  Rom.10:17  Faith = Power.

FAITH AND PATIENCE

Today’s Scripture
“The Lord is good to those whose hope (faith) is in him, to the one who seeks him.”  (Lam. 3:25)

Be Patient
Even when you are busy, you can choose to be patient. Nobody really likes to wait around for something to happen, especially if it’s something they really want to see come to pass. But God says that people who trust in Him need to wait on Him. Waiting is hard, but here’s the good part: waiting on God is not like waiting on anyone else in your life because God never fails to keep His Word! If you’re asking God for something right now or hoping that He will fulfill your dreams, just keep praying and holding on. Don’t give up on God. If it’s not happening on your timetable, remind yourself, “God knows what He is doing. He has my best interest at heart. I wouldn’t be having this delay unless God had a very good reason for it.” Rest assured that it will be in God’s perfect timing.

A Prayer for Today
“God, please continue to give me patience to wait on You – and thank You for the assurance that You will never fail to keep Your Word. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

My Comments:
We are now in an “INSTANT” generation…  Quick to speak, Quick to act with lots of Pain,
Escape and Depression. 

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

One of my favorite verses on this subject of faith in the Old Testament is from Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

In Luke 11:9-11,  Christ Jesus sets it out this way:  And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

So our Heavenly Father is totally committed to helping us but also opposed to manipulating us and trying to make us do anything as love would be totally ineffective and invalid if coerced and freewill would be compromised.   So faith and patience bring us out of being head vacillating and into a total heart commitment and focus.  True faith is to set our face as a flint as in Isiah 50:7  For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.     In Context | Full Chapter | Other Translations

So Patience and Commitment in seeking the LORD to move to help us is more dependent upon our attitude and faith than we like to realize.   Head faith and heart faith are totally different.   It is in believing with the heart without doubt that moves God.   That is how we really get saved and that is how everything else works in the Kingdom.    In Mark’s Gospel 11:22 Jesus said it this way:  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.   In Context | Full Chapter | Other Translations

Head faith is rather fickled and can change like the wind.   I can say with my head that I think it is going to rain and and totally pass up the umbrella.  But if I say that with my heart,  I pick up the umbrella and also make other provisions.
 
Hebrews 11  With study can also can brings a lot of light into this concept of how faith works, if interested.  God’s whole of creation is held together only by faith.  He is trying to teach us how it works in creation.  Even the atoms in our bodies and the whole universe are held together by HIS faith.

The Seed Must Lead
In farming, the seed always precedes the harvest—and that’s true in our lives as well. In other words, if you want to reap happiness, then you have to sow seeds by making other people happy. If you want to reap financial blessings, you have to sow financially. If you want to reap friendships, you have to be a good friend first. Sowing seed is not just a one-time effort, it’s an important part of everyday life. Instead of focusing on your need, worrying about how it’s going to work out and living frustrated, look for ways you can sow a seed. Be more seed-oriented than need-oriented. Can you give an encouraging word to someone who’s down? Is there someone you can pray for? Are you investing quality time with your loved ones? If you’ll dare to sow a seed in your time of need, God will do more than you can ask or think!

A Prayer for Today
“God, thank You that I have the good seed of Your Word and Your love within me. Help me to sow these blessings generously in the lives of others. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

My Comments:
When I became a Christian back in 1955, I was challenged by Bob Newkurk of the Navigator’s  to find a life verse that would be a vision quest for me for my life.  I finally found one that popped up off the page:   John 12:24-26 where Christ Jesus instructs his followers,  that to enter in to HIS coming kingdom that their seed would need to be planted.  That if they sought to save their lives they would loose them, but if they gave them to HIM for what HE wanted to do they could keep them throughout eternity and that the Heavenly Father would honor them.

John 12:24-26 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)   “WORDS OF CHRIST JESUS, THE LORD.”

24 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.

25 Anyone who loves his life loses it, but anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. [Whoever has no love for, no concern for, no regard for his life here on earth, but despises it, preserves his life forever and ever.]

26 If anyone serves Me, he must continue to follow Me [[a]to cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying] and wherever I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.


Living this out is a little more difficult than I originally thought at the time. Dying to self is not so easy.   So glad I can also be forgiven upon repentance.  These verses teach us to be converted to being like Jesus like John writes in 1 John 4:17,  “…because as he is, so are we in this world.”  So I have attached some one’s inventory so as to help us to know what it would mean to be like Jesus Christ.   THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT TEACHING OF CHRIST JESUS.  It means we need to learn to plant the the kind of crops that we want to harvest and to be interested in what HE was interested in. Seems HIS primary concern was to see souls saved from hell,  is it ours?    I give this teaching from Joel,  4 stars.

So make yourself a report card and check it out at the end of each day with a self grade,   if you are serious about being a slave of Christ Jesus which is what the word, Christian, REALLY means.

HAWAII:
It is a beautiful day here in Kealia today about 67 this morning with snow up on the mountains for sure.  Blue clear sky with humidity about 58 %.   A rather cool night down to 62 degrees and up to about 75 today.  At our mini farm,  True Vine, we have completed the common area kitchen and bath.  And we are beginning to build a little barn 18′ x 24′ with a couple of attic rooms upstairs for pilgrims who head in our direction.   We have our first guests coming in June,  old friends,  came to the LORD here in Kona and Married them.  Be nice to have fellowship with them, they now have a 9 yr. old son…   So hauling in mulch for the gardens and still moving a few rocks.   Cement floor is in for the barn so walls going up tomorrow.   Nice to be 86 and retired,  but be in prayer for me for my feet and a sore on my butt for sitting so much of the time.  Rest of me in rather good shape for my age.  Hope to hang out until the Rapture.   Want to know more about the Rapture, let me know?   Love in Christ Jesus,   Ken<><
