THIS IS GOOD !!!
THIS IS GOOD !!!, “Worth Considering” 1/25/21 From Ken Smith<><
A good laugh I heard long ago about our words. You may have seen this already but seemed really fresh to me today in light of the election.
An African king had a long time friend who always looked at everything positively, always saying “This is good!” even in the face of the most difficult situations. Hunting one day, he was preparing the king’s guns. When the king took his first shot, his thumb was blown off. Though the friend realized that it was his grave mistake for not properly setting the gun, and even in the face of this furious, bleeding king, he looked at him and said, “This is good!” The king was LIVID and ordered that his friend be thrown in jail immediately.
A year later the king was hunting in an area where he should have stayed clear and was suddenly captured by Cannibals. They tied him up and were preparing to cook him when they realized he had no thumb. They didn’t eat anyone who was less than whole so they released him. On his way home, the king pondered the event that had taken his thumb in the first place. He went straight to the jail, told his friend what happened, and apologized in tears for sending him to jail as he did. His enthusiastic friend looked at the King and replied: “This is good!” The king, taken aback once again said “What do you mean ‘this is good!’ I sent you mercilessly to jail and you’ve been suffering for here for an entire year – how is that good?” His friend responded unwaveringly, “Well if I had not been in jail, I would have been with you!”
We are taught in the Holy Bible as follows in Romans 8:28. “ And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God’s will. 28 We are assured and know that [[a] God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was [b]aware and [c]loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.
So as this world is only a training experience and not our real or ultimate home regardless of what happens we have much to learn from it that will be of eternal value in the Kingdom of God.
Sometimes I even learn more from my painful choices than I learn from my good choices. It is for sure the the learning experience from pain is more impressive. So read again the whole chapter of Rom. 8 and then go to Heb. 11 and put the two of them together for a good direction in your life style. We are living a very short life in a temporary dimension of time. We are challenged by the Word of God, John 12:24-26 to trade it for that which is eternal by faith. That God is in the process of trying to teach us how to walk by faith in righteousness. The word says clearly that if we love or attach ourselves to the world that we will pass on into darkness. But if we, through the Spirit, put to death the deeds of the flesh we will receive God’s LIFE. We will become brothern to Christ Jesus in the Kingdom of God. Check this out. 1 John 2:14-17 “ I write to you, fathers, because you have come to know (recognize, be conscious of, and understand) Him Who [has existed] from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong and vigorous, and the Word of God is [always] abiding in you (in your hearts), and you have been victorious over the wicked one. 15 Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself]. 17 And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever.
If you consider yourself a REAL CHRISTIAN, this message should guide your actions each day. But if you really don’t understand this, you really have missed the trail (The Way) somewhere along the line and may not end up where you expected to go. So it really does not matter a whole lot as to the Kingdom of God as to what the world does or the politics. The Truth of Christ Jesus works just as well regardless of the governments do. We all have to go through the process of deciding to follow Jesus rather than Adam each and every day of our lives, anyway, to make it into the Kingdom of God.

Seems, in light of the present direction of our nation that it would be a bit of wisdom to gently stock up on essentials that it would be difficult to live without. T.P. Matches, batteries, medical stuff, solar back up for Cell phones. You get the idea I am sure, and I plan to do the same thing. It does appear to me that we are headed into another great depression like 1929 only might be a lot worse. And being that about 90% of what we use is shipped into us, it could be wise to do.
