RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved of God and me,   John 3:14-18

RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD,  WORTH CONSIDERING   8/15/20  From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture   (Across my desk on Friday from a Church in Texas.)
“…For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock…”  (Psalm 27:5, NLT)

Why Be Afraid?
David had all kinds of things come against him—people, armies, even his own family. He had many reasons to live worried, upset, and bitter. But he said, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? Why should I be afraid?” David lived with this attitude, “God’s got this. I’m not going to worry or live in fear. He will hide me when trouble comes. He will place me out of reach.”

You may have discouraging situations and difficulties coming against you, but God has placed you out of reach. They can’t defeat you. Now do like David and remain confident. Keep your peace. You may feel like you’re surrounded by an army, but the truth is you’re surrounded by God’s favor. The forces that are for you are greater than the forces that are against you. God’s got this. He’s done it in the past, and He’s not going to stop now.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are my light and my salvation and the stronghold of my life. Thank You for Your promise of protecting me when troubles come and placing me out of its reach. I will live from a place of peace, knowing I am safe in the palms of Your hands. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts:
This works well if your ears are on and you are in humility and obedience to the LORD as David became later on in his life and wrote many of the psalms.   We all tend to learn the 23rd when we are in Sunday School:

A Psalm of David.
23 The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me],  I shall not want.    2 He lets me lie down in green pastures;  He leads me beside the still and quiet waters.  3   He refreshes and restores my soul (life);  He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.  4 Even though I walk through the [sunless] [a] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me;Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.  5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with [b] oil;  My cup overflows.  6 Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord.

Even before I became a Christian there were 3 time in my life that I can remember the LORD saving me from sure death.   And it all depended on what I did after hearing HIS voice in my mind telling me gently what to do.  Hope you like my story time…  One night, very late, I was returning from the Mojave Desert after rock hunting with 3 other guys in my chevy.   And I looked down and I was speeding along about 80 mph.   I decided that I better slow down.  And a small voice said, you are doing fine.  As all seemed Ok so did not change my speed but a few minutes later I went through a very large cinder cone and as I was in the middle of the cinder cone there were rail road track making an X with the road.  I looked out my right side window and there was a big bright light about 18″ in diameter.  As my back bumper cleared the track a stream liner went by at doing about 90 mph.  and it was very long.  If I had slowed down at all, I would have ran right into the train as there was no light at the crossing and no way to see the train or the light.  I could not have stopped in time if I had even seen the train.   If I had not have listened to the voice, I would not be writing this note to you at this time in my life.  But I did listen, the guys were asleep, the car was purring and the radio was not blaring some beat music.  Thank God for that quite time and the ability to hear HIS voice even as a none Christian. And I know each of you could match me story for story.

So now to the punch line.   If you really know there is a God, why don’t you spend more time getting acquainted?    Notice that in the New Testament GOD is looking to have a relationship with us.  Matt. 25:22-13, “ Later the others also came, and said, ‘Lord, Lord, open [the door] for us.’ 12 But He replied, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I do not know you [we have no relationship].’ 13 Therefore, be on the alert [be prepared and ready], for you do not know the day nor the hour [when the Son of Man will come.”  I noted a few days ago that a survey found out the 48% of those who thought they were Christian would go to heaven because they were GOOD people..  Obviously ½ of the virgins felt the same way and 50% lost out as they had no relationship, no oil.   2 Cor. 5:21, “He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious loving kindness].   John 10:14, “I am the Good Shepherd, and I know [without any doubt those who are] My own and My own know Me [and have a deep, personal relationship with Me ]—

So if you are really saved you have a deep personal relationship with Christ Jesus as LORD.     Matt.7:22.   “Many will say to Me on that day [when I judge them], ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].’

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy, Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org
