LIGHT ON A HILL
,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”     7/9/20    From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture              (Across my desk today from a church in Texas.)
“…No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house…”  (Matthew 5:15, NLT)

Do it in Spite of the Fear
God has put gifts and talents in you. He’s given you dreams and goals that are unique to your life. But it’s easy to let fear hold you back. “What if I try it and it doesn’t work…what if people don’t accept me…what if I don’t have the talent?” Too often we let the what-ifs talk us out of it. Quit hiding the dreams and talent that God has given you. He created you to shine, to make a difference, to leave your mark. Your gift isn’t just for you; it’s to share with the world.  Life is short, so stir up what God put in you. You can’t wait till the fear goes away and then you’ll do it. The fear may not go away. You’re going to have to do it in spite of the fear. That’s what faith is all about. Nobody who’s ever done anything great in life has done it without fear.

A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for entrusting me with gifts and talents and dreams. Thank You that I have greatness in me because You put it there. Help me to come out of hiding and release what You’ve given me in spite of my fears. I will shine Your light into my world. In Jesus’  Amen.

Ken’s Comments,
Seems to me that most Christians (or so called Christians), difficult to know the difference, have their lights securely hidden under a basket.  Now I can not speak for the world or the U.S. or even Hawaii.  But due to the small amount of light that is shining in my location it would make finding out about supernatural spiritual things nearly impossible.   And with few exceptions it seems like the state of the national pulse as well.  There are so many many scriptures that tell us we are the light on the hill and should be lighting up the world’s darkness with God’s Power.  Even in the political events of today.  It is difficult to tell who is telling the truth and who is not.  With our local liberal newspaper you would think that all of the Constitutional Conservative folks should be in jail or even worse, dead.

A Young man asked me yesterday about getting baptized in the ocean.  I shared the intent and meaning of baptism.  It means a personal convection to allow our Adamic selfish nature to be dead and buried.   And to make a public confession that Jesus is now LORD in our life.  But many have been taught that  you get saved that way.  You do, but it is not the water or the ritual it is the life time heart decision to make Jesus LORD and believe in the resurrection.  Many go through the process but in a few months or a year or so are back to the old habits but thinking they are still saved?  But if Jesus and HIS truth are not truly enthroned as LORD in your heart, that is really doubtful.   Our salvation is conditional on Christ Jesus being LORD of our lives, all the time.  Jesus even warned us of that, “He that endureth to the end, shall be saved.”  Mark 13:12-14   So we are still sharing concerning the baptism.  At my age it would be difficult but well worth the time and energy from my perspective if valid.   Remember, life does not consist of physical stuff but by every Word of Truth that has come from the prophets of God especially Jesus Christ. Get a red letter edition of the New Testament and make a list of the commandments of Jesus.   Make up your own report card and see how you stand.  The attached list could help, if on line.  See where you are???

Please understand, those who decided that they want to be among the Children of God and live with God in the heavens are called to become like Jesus in HIS humility and obedience and power.  It is a very difficult school as the left overs of Adam are seeded deep in us.   But the ultimate goal and vision of God has always been to find a people who would decide to love, trust and obey HIM even unto death, Rev. 12:10-12.  “ Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,  “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom (dominion, reign) of our God, and the authority of His Christ have come; for the [a]accuser of our [believing] brothers and sisters has been thrown down [at last], he who accuses them and keeps bringing charges [of sinful behavior] against them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them [in the presence of God]. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you in great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time [remaining]!”    This happens 3 ½ years into the Great Tribulation.   And please note that Chapter 12 is a time line chapter concerning the whole 7 years of the Great Tribulation.  Prior to the 7 years of the Wrath of God is the translation of the Church.  and the period ends in Rev.19 with the battle of Armageddon and the Kingdom of Jesus.  If you would like my paper on “The Return of the King.”  Let me know:    ken@trinity-aloha.org   Seems we are just beginning the birth pains for the delivery of the Lord’s Church into eternity.  Matt. 24, Mark 13, Luke 21 all merge together to give us the picture of the coming future events.  We can know the signs and seasons by the Holy Spirit.

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy, Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org
