FREEDOM

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved in God and me,    John 3:16-18

FREEDOM,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”   4/21/20   from Ken<><

Today’s Scripture     (In my emails this morning from Texas.)
“…Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom…”  (2 Corinthians 3:17, NIV)

Live in Freedom
If you’re always thinking about something negative that happened yesterday, last month, last year, there’s no freedom there. That’s where the Spirit of the Lord was. This is a new day. Quit living in what was and come over into what is. Right now there is freedom, joy, peace, and restoration for you. Right now there are new beginnings. Remaining upset and offended about what happened yesterday doesn’t bring freedom. Living in regret of what you should have done or what could have been doesn’t do anything productive. It’s time to drop it and move forward. You may be a product of your past, but you don’t have to be a prisoner of your past. God already knew every hurt, every loss, and every mistake you would go through. The good news is that for every setback, He’s already arranged a comeback; for every disappointment, a new beginning; for every failure, restoration; for all the ashes, He has beauty. Live in freedom.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that Your Spirit is working in my life and bringing me into freedom. Thank You that I can make a clear break with the past and enter into new beginnings. I declare that I am leaving behind what was and coming over into what is. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts:
There is great truth in today’s message.  But due to our habits and programing in Adam it somewhat difficult to do.  So much of who we believe ourselves to be is in the reflection that we get from others.  And our little ego is primed with pride by holding on to old issues that make some one else look bad and us look good.  And to let them go means we might just get hurt again and again.  But the sludge that we maintain about others also causes our plumbing to be full of sludge. as well.  So harboring poisons about others and even ourselves is really very deadly for us and also for our immune system.  I talk to folks who are livid with anger concerning Trump to the place of wanting to kill him.  And they know nothing personal about him as to the real truth or not at all.  They only know what has been feed to them at the table where they prefer to eat.  The Bible teaches that we should honor those who should be honored and to pray for them.  That our kingdom is really not of this world and to not get tied up in the bondages of this world.  That our lives are really hid in Christ Jesus and we are only pilgrims passing through.  And we were not created to carry all of that extra junk.

If we take the long view, the Eternal View, then the things of this world will not change our direction.  Straight and Narrow is the way that leads to Eternal Life, Jesus taught, and few there be that find it.  So guard against the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life from up ending you into bondage.  Every thing that concerns sin in the New Testament the enemy has advocated in lovely pictures in gold plated frames and causes a loss of freedom.  Taste is good in the mouth but quickly turns to poison in the belly.  What ever sin that rings your bell the most is where you are going to be tempted the most.  And also potentially may have the best victory.   It is amazing as I look over my life and see that same sin, over and over, causing me to loose my freedom and bringing me into bondage.  I won’t go into details here on a personal level but if you give yourself a personal report card you will find it the same.  Seems like we should eventually come to know better?   But until we get the overview from God as to how HE feels about it and really see it to be sin we tend to be permissive.  And we get trashed by it, very painfully, over and over again.  Take a memory tour, and you will see where your weaknesses are.  And in Christ Jesus we can eventually find that those areas of weakness have been made super strong in the Holy Spirit like a broken bone that when mended is much stronger than the original design.

Who by faith [that is, with an enduring trust in God and His promises] subdued kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promised blessings, closed the mouths of lions, 34 extinguished the power of [raging] fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became mighty and unbeatable in battle, putting enemy forces to flight. 35 Women received back their dead by resurrection; and others were tortured [to death], refusing to accept release [offered on the condition of denying their faith], so that they would be resurrected to a better life; Heb.11:33-35 AMP
but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.  2 Cor. 12:9 AMP
So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].  2 Cor.12:10 AMP

Yours in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy, Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org

Verse for the day:
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”   John 10   (However, it is still possible for the lies of sin to cause us to loose faith and to leave. Heb.6:4-12.)

News in Brief:
A South Carolina federal judge has awarded an atheist group over $450,000 in attorney’s fees and expenses after it filed a lawsuit to block public prayer at high school graduations, Christian Headlines reports. The award follows a finding last year that there should be limits to student-led prayers at graduation ceremonies. Given on April 14, the award is in respect of legal action initiated by the American Humanist Association (AHA) against Greenville County Schools in 2013. The suit was on behalf of the parents of a pupil who objected to students leading prayer at a graduation ceremony.   worthybrief@worthynetwork.com   Getting really crazy out there…
