HOUSE CHURCH,      “WORTH CONSIDERING”   4/13/19

As we check out the Holy Bible for details of the Early Church that started after the resurrection of Christ Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.   As there were no Christians until Jesus Christ came into the Upper Room and in John 20:22 the Disciples were born from above as per John 3:7-8.    And after 50 days at Pentecost the Disciples then received the Holy Spirit for wisdom and power for their ministry.

Actually the Gospels were written as a transition from the Old Testament (will) under the LAW to the New Testament (will) under GRACE. So in the Gospels you will find things that pertain to the Law of Moses and also things that pertain to the Church that was yet to be built in Christ Jesus. The use of the LAW was set aside as being unprofitable and replaced by LOVE as the motivation.

So for the first Early Christians what did the “Church” look like?

First off, there is not one word in the New Testament concerning building a building.   Not that we should take any buildings down. But only that there is a far better way of having church that we need to consider. With big building we also assume the maintenance and upkeep which are extensive. Some how along the line the Christian House Churches came under the pagan influence of having a big beautiful building. And then the building took on the name Church.   Actually the Greek word for church means “called out ones” or the people.
So actually the people are the church and not the building.

Second, The Elder/Pastors of the Early Church was self supporting.   So that gifts and offerings that were given to the LORD went for evangelism and helping the poor who were in need.   And along with that there is no scripture concerning tithing in the New Testament Church.

So in searching the Holy Scriptures these verses come into view:

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Acts 2:46

and how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, Acts 20:20

Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epænetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ. Romans 16:5

I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,) 1 Cor. 16:15.

The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. 1 Cor 16:19

Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house. Col.4:15

whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake. Titus 1:11

So we see by these verses that the Early Church (which were the people) were meeting together each week in homes to study the scriptures together and to lift up Christ Jesus as LORD, Eph.4:11-16. They were getting to know each other and to minister to each other which some call “Body Life Ministry.” They were coming together to help each other to be sanctified and to lean how to fulfill their ministry in the Holy Spirit with maturity and power. The Early Church was an interactive family kind of a forum.   It was not the normal theater church.

Also the Elders that were called of the LORD to oversee HIS CHURCH would come together each week and lean better how to serve the LORDS flock and to learn to hear and obey the Holy Spirit. The Early Church was supervised by the Holy Spirit according to the Word of God.

So a few of us have began coming together to learn how to develop a Holy Spirit “House” church at Ken’s Home in Kealia.   It is off to a shaky start but the potential is there. The Pot Blessing Fellowship begins at 6 PM and we are seeking to work our way towards being a healthy New Testament House Church in UNITY by the Holy Spirit each Friday.   The address being 85-5445 Mamalahoa Hwy. As of this time we are yet very unorganized. Some high places need to come down and some low places need to come up. But the ultimate goal is to see Christ Jesus lifted up in all of HIS GLORY.

HONOR

HONOR “WORTH CONSIDERING” 4/12/19 (Received from Joel today.)

Today’s Scripture
“Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.’ He could not do any miracles there…He was amazed at their lack of faith.””(Mark 6:4–6, NIV)

Faith and Honor
Did you know that honor and faith work together? When Jesus walked the earth, the people in His own hometown couldn’t believe that He was the Son of God because they were too familiar with Him. They didn’t honor Him, which affected their ability to have faith in Him. When you honor the Lord, when you respect and make room for Him in your life by following the Word of God, it impacts your faith in Him. Part of honoring the Lord is honoring the people He’s placed in your life. God works through people, and the Bible says that the way you treat others is the way you treat Him. Choose to honor people and make room for the Lord to work in your life today. Look for the greatness in the people around you: your spouse, your children, your friends and family. Treat others with respect, knowing that God is building His character in you. As you choose honor, you open the door for faith to grow. You’ll see God’s hand working in your life, and you will see His hand of blessing on everything you do!

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, today I choose to honor You by honoring the people You have placed in my life. Show me how to love others the way You love me so that faith will grow stronger in my heart. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

My Comments:
Many things come to my mind and heart on this subject today. Honor and Faith go together. 5 times in the new testament is the verse concerning a prophet of God without Honor (Honour, old spelling) mentioned. This means the folks missed out. Jesus could not do many mighty works in HIS home town due to the dis-honor. “They that receive a prophet in the name of a prophet receive a prophets reward.”

In Matt. 15:8, Jesus mentions the difference between mouth and heart honor as in hypocrisy. In Matt.19:19 HE reminds us to honor our parents. And in John 5:41-44 that true honor is from God alone. And that if we truly serve Christ Jesus as LORD we will be honored by our Heavenly Father. And if we dishonor Christ Jesus we will suffer the consequences.

Actually it is faith/honor that makes it possible for us to help one another. When some one has faith/honor for me it tends to draw out the best in me and make me grow into God’s original design for me. In 1 Pet.2:17 we are instructed to have honor for all including our political leaders. In The Revelation, Honour, is mentioned over and over again concerning Christ Jesus. So in reality it means we should have the love and humility to seek out what HE teaches and do what HE instructs us to do. This would be to HONOR HIM as LORD.

And if I am treated like a child, I will tend to be drawn into being childish. That is why many men have not reached out to grow up and take responsibility.

In our dictionary, honor is defined:

Might want to try honoring one another more and see if it does not change things a bit. VICTORY

VICTORY, “WORTH CONSIDERING” 4/10/19 (In my mailbox today from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” (Isaiah 40:29, NIV)

He Gives Strength
Have you ever felt backed into a corner about a particular situation, and you couldn’t see a way out? We’ve all felt trapped and overwhelmed by the circumstances of life at one time or another. Be encouraged today because the Bible says in Isaiah that when you cry to God for help, as soon as He hears, He will answer you! He will give you strength when you are weary and increase your power when you feel weak. No matter what is going on in your life today, God is greater than any obstacle or difficulty you may be facing. Do you need strength today to overcome a challenge in your life? Do you need power to stand strong in the midst of a storm? Call on Him and He will hear you. The answer is on the way while the words are still on your lips! Open your heart and by faith receive His strength and might, and let Him empower you to live in victory all the days of your life!

A Prayer for Today
“Father in heaven, thank You for hearing and answering my prayers. Fill me with Your strength and power today. I give You my whole heart and ask that You remove anything from my life that isn’t pleasing to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
The complete thought of Isaiah 40:28-31 looks like this: ⁽²⁸Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. ²⁹He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.³⁰Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:³¹But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.)

At 86 now, I often really feel drained mentally and physically. Things that use to be easy have now become difficult. Things that I was able to do very fast have become slow and even sometimes impossible. But I find that as I have faith and am in the right place doing the right thing with a “sound mind” ( 2 Tim.1:7) that I am getting things done that I have never done before. That as I walk with a Rom.8 overview and see things as GOD sees them, I don’t get trapped in the minutia like I use to. You know, the quick-sands of life where even if you win you have lost ground. That the time is gone, the money is gone or ???? and the former good relationship with some one has been damaged and perhaps destroyed over nothing important at all. In Romans 8, Paul teaches us this concept in verse 11-14:¹¹But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.¹²Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.¹³For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify (put to death) the deeds of the body, ye shall live.¹⁴For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons (children) of God. and in verses 35-37: ³⁵Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?³⁶As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.³⁷Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

So from GOD’S point of view our understanding of time is totally immature and bogus. Time is only a school room experience from God’s point of view. In HIS Eternity, that HE has invited us into, there is nothing but time. In fact HIS dimension is totally without time. So if by faith we see ourselves as in Heb.11:13 as only “Pilgrims” who are passing though. Passing through a short temporary time of training in the temporary dimension of time it puts a totally different value on “stuff” and the yours and mine concept. Personally I need to be reminded of this very often or I start counting beans and get into trouble as Peter teaches us: Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 1 Peter 2:11.

So want to get rid of the feelings of weakness and quit being weary? Then by faith enter into the Eternal point of view through love, humility and obedience to the LORDSHIP of Christ Jesus. HE came for the foolish, weak, base, despised and nothings of this world, 1 Cor.1:26-31, He came so HE could re-create us to be restored to HIS IMAGE as was HIS original vision and design, Gen.1:27, Rev. 21:1-8.

FRAGRANCE

FRAGRANCE: “WORTH CONSIDERING” 4/9/19 (Across my desk this morning from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God…” (2 Corinthians 2:15, AMP)

Sweet Fragrance
Did you know that your life is a sweet fragrance to God? Think about how a wonderful aroma affects you personally. When it’s springtime and the flowers are blossoming, everything feels new again. The sweet aroma in the air tells you that the flowers are fresh and alive. It catches your attention! It makes you want to take a deep breath of the sweet fragrance.

God feels the same way about you! He loves wonderful aromas, and when you are living your life to please Him, it’s a beautiful fragrance that captures His attention! Just like the aroma in springtime tells you that the flowers are alive, the aroma of your life is a sign that Christ is alive in you. It is pleasing to the Heavenly Father! The next time you experience a fresh fragrance, remember that your life is a fragrance to God. You can rest in knowing that He is pleased with a heart that seeks after Him. As you continue to seek Him, you’ll be that sweet fragrance, and you’ll experience His wonderful hand of blessing in every area of your life.

“Heavenly Father, today I choose to honor You by honoring the people You have placed in my life. Show me how to love others the way You love me so that faith will grow stronger in my heart. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
You know, a problem with this is, that we tend to get use to our own smell, good or bad, and it is difficult for us to know how our smell is effecting others as they don’t want us to know. Us guys that have been married for a while know what I mean when the little lady of the house, gently nudges us that “you don’t have enough dirty clothes” or “are we out of hot water” or just simply, “you need a shower.” The world tends to collect on us like dirt in the same way in the spirit. The LORD reminded Peter that he needed to get his feet washed from time to time, John 13:12, Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

So part of smelling good is keeping clean, 1 John 1:⁶If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: ⁷But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.⁸If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.⁹If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.¹⁰If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

And especially at my age, I need to keep a healthy attitude about keeping clean so my wife will feed me and also so that the LORD will receive me in the 1st Resurrection. This is worth considering, hope you take it to heart that “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” And out of a true heart Cleanliness comes the fragrance of Christ Jesus. It is HIS FRAGRANCE that draws the world to HIM. That is what brought me to Christ Jesus in 1955. I could smell the sweet fragrance of Jesus on Floyd, a young 19 yr. old church caretaker who was way under paid but way full of GOD’S PEACE and JOY.

“Worth Considering” EARTH 4/8/19 (Across my desk from Joel today.)

Today’s Scripture
“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof…” (Psalm 24:1, KJV)

Living The Full Life
God wants you to live an abundant and satisfied life. He wants you to enjoy the fullness of the earth and life’s experiences. When you open your mind to new things and new situations, you are broadening your horizons and opening yourself to new opportunities. If you’re to become everything God has created you to be, you can’t get stuck in a rut and think you’ve reached your limits, doing the same thing the same way all the time. But when you open yourself to new people and new ideas, you are making room for God to reveal Himself to you. You are making room for Him to work in your life. Make the decision to explore something new this week. Take a different route home from work. Try something new on the menu at lunch. Be open to new people who may not necessarily look like you or act like you. Let God direct and expand your horizons. As you do, you’ll encounter new opportunities and live the satisfied, full life the Lord has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, I open my heart and mind to You today. I ask that You help me broaden my perspective so I can experience the full life You have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

My Comments:
In Romans 1: ²⁰For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

So as I take this verse to be true and consider the beauty that I find on our planet earth; it seems to me that it is created to let my know in a very gentle loving way that there is Intelligent Design and that I should spend some special time on the three great questions: Where did I come from, why am I here and where am I headed in eternity? In themselves, the beauty of a sunset or the smell of lemon blossoms or a dive into the under water world of the sea are most beautiful. Especially the places that man has not claimed as home as yet. And they all give us clues as to what our Creator is like.

From a Biblical perspective the world has been created to allow those interested, through free will to find their Creator and choose to come into a humble, loving, obedient relationship with HIM. That the Earth has been created as a testing and training space in time where The Creator is creating and gathering a loving family to be made in HIS IMAGE. And every soul on earth has the opportunity to seek, knock and ask to become a part of that Holy Vision and Family. Or they may decide to use their time up in their own pursuits, visions and directions. So for me this world is simply a temporary space of spiritual education and testing, John 12:24-26, 17:20-26. That I am just passing through. And that is it totally up to us as to where we decide to live in eternity, whether in light or darkness. And that this EARTH will only last as long as needed and no longer to fulfill this purpose. The Holy Bible Teaches the following in

The Revelation 21:1 Then I saw a new ^[a]sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former ^[b]sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea.

²And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband;

³Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God.

⁴God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.

⁵And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine).

⁶And He [further] said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I [Myself] will give water without price from the fountain (springs) of the water of Life.

⁷He who is victorious shall inherit all these things, and I will be God to him and he shall be My son.

BASKET WEAVING 101

BASKET WEAVING 101

Living in Hawaii is a wonderful experience especially in living in areas that have local charm. My wife had a lauhala hat made from me at Kamura’s Hat Shop in Holualoa for a birthday and it is a work of art. On the sea walls down in Kailua Kona you will find simple sun hats and bowls made from coconut trees that are so very practical. Weaving a good basket for gathering fruit is a must in Hawaii as there is so much fruit growing everywhere.

Applying this principle to gathering a local house church together is an excellent example.. First the leaves need to be gathered and formed and shaped and cleaned to lovingly be woven together. Certain stronger leaves may work for the base of the bowl while more limber leave are used for weaving the sides. Our Lord, Christ Jesus selected mostly simple fishermen to form, shape and clean for the 1st spiritual basket in the New Testament. He spent 24/7 for 3 years lovingly weaving them together so that on Pentecost they would be a good basket for collecting GOD chosen ones for HIS Kingdom. HIS vision has not changed. Christ Jesus has trusted and commissioned HIS CHURCH to bring in the harvest of HIS KINGDOM.

Also HAWAIIAN lauhala hats are great to keep the sun off and can also make a nice basket when needed.

So we here at the LORD’s Church at Kealia are looking for spiritual leaves to make a good strong spiritual basket for the collection of souls for the LORD. He came that we might have an abundant life. There are many in our area who really have not had a good experience with man’s idea of religion who need to be touched by GOD’s Holy Truth and set free. Man’s form of religion tends to box us up but God’s Holy Truth that sets us free are very different. There is but one Church of Christ Jesus and all who really love and obey HIM are members. A Prophetic Word
I keep seeing a bride with a veil over her eyes. She is standing in the fire. This fire is consuming her and burning away all the hay and stubble, to reveal the glory within her through the Holy Spirit. I see Jesus, our bridegroom lifting the veil from her face and staring into her eyes to see His reflection. I believe we as the body of Christ are experiencing the “fire” that John the Baptist mentions…Matthew 3:11.

This fire is burning away every false teaching from the world; every man-made doctrine and command; everything that defiles; every twisted mindset; every wound; all preconceived ideas; every false foundation; false idols; double mindedness; every false idea of love; every doubt and fear. Every piece of dross is being burned… 1 Cor.3:11-15.

Zechariah 13:9 (And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.) Malachi 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

This fire will reveal His glory as the manifest sons of God are being forged to reveal the pure love and the glory of our Father… From Amanda Leonard

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: Galatians 5:22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

TITHING

My position is that tithing is not a new testament principle.

Because:
Nothing is said in the New Testament about tithing for the Church. Not one verse….. The New Testament starts with Pentecost in Acts. The Gospels are in transition from LAW to GRACE so one must be careful as the time was still under the LAW as Jesus had not yet been crucified and resurrected. The Disciples became saved in the Upper Room in believing on the resurrected Christ Rom. 10:9-10, but the Church was started under the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

10% leaves 90% on the Table and either Jesus is LORD of all or not LORD at all. When we come to Jesus we give it all to HIM as LORD. The letter of the LAW kills, the Spirit give life.

So for me, tithing would put me in a box and take the joy out of giving. Most churches today do not use their funds effectively. Most goes to support their minister, special denominational box or building. The original “Store House” was the Temple but that is no more as that system was cursed and destroyed.

Funds given in the Early Church were used only for Evangelism and to help the poor. Ministers were self supporting. No building were built. Church was in the HOME and larger gatherings were in places that were available for free like the Temple till 70 AD. Not to take down the church buildings today or get into a fight about it… Good to use what ever is available without condemnation only that there is a “Better Way.” The Better Way is to be totally guided by the Holy Spirit in every thing that we do and especially in giving. Simple Church can be very healthy without big building overhead or paid ministers.

And I am offended when ministers pull Old Testament verses out of context and present them to a congregation in order to lock them down under the LAW to extract tithes. Jesus died to deliver us from the LAW.

The verse I use to support my position is:

2 Corinthians 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

HOUSE CHURCH 101

BIBLICAL CHURCH STRUCTURE HOUSE CHURCH 101, 3/31/18   by Ken Smith
First of all, Christ Jesus said that HE would build HIS Church and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. That HIS Church would see the victory over death, hell and the grave and go to heaven in Glory. That HIS Church would make herself ready by the blood of the Lamb, the word of her testimony and love not her life unto death. Rev.12:11, John 12:24-25.
There is but one Church of Christ Jesus and all who truly love and obey HIM are members.
There was no beginning and there is no end. But God did create a time capsule of 7,000 years in which to create HIS family in HIS image. It began with Adam and it ends with God making a new heavens and a new earth that is righteous. We are now about 6,000 years into that time capsule.
2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The 7th, 1000 years is the Sabbath Rest of the week.
Revelation 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. 4.And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5. GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, FATHER… Source of all power and matter in the universe.
GOD the Father Almighty above all, existing in three forms as Father, Word and Holy Spirit. The Almighty’s presence is a consuming fire into whose presence no human can enter and live. No man except Christ Jesus as ever seen GOD, The Father, Almighty.
Heb.12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 29 For our God is a consuming fire. Exodus 33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
The Word is the creative part of the GOD force that made the galaxies and the world in which we live. Those who allow HIM to become LORD and learn to be obedient in love and humility will go on into eternal light and HIS presence where the dimension of time does not exist. Those souls who reject this relationship will be expelled into a body-less eternal darkness.
The Holy Spirit was sent to earth by Christ Jesus to share the good news of GOD’s love and to help share the way of redemption. HE was also sent to establish the Church of Christ Jesus on earth and make ready for the Church to clean house. Then to be united with Christ Jesus and set up again the Kingdom of David and rule for a thousand years with the Church as HIS rod of iron in maintaining peace during this time. In this time all of the promises to Abraham will be completely fulfilled. At the end of this capsule of time of 7,000 years God Almighty will dissolve time and make a new heaven and earth that is eternal in HIS eternal dimension for HIS new family.
OK, there you have it, the plan of the ages. GOD, The Almighty, wants to create a family that will enjoy loving HIM and obeying HIM to the place that there will never again be fear or a prideful rebellion. HE has extended HIS invitation to all to come and drink of HIS waters of life freely.
SO WHERE DO WE START ?
Why trust the Bible in preference to other sources?
    Frankly, the folks who sincerely explore the Bible tend to be very good people.     The teachings of Christ Jesus are the only teachings the deal thoroughly with pride.     As I look at the foundations of creation I see a totally balanced intelligent design.     The testimony of the folks who have found faith through the Bible is awesome.     The Old Testament prophesies concerning the life of Jesus are extremely accurate.     As I read or listen to the New Testament I find a life and faith beyond my own.     So many men and women of faith have died painfully rather than renounce their faith.     Personally, I have experienced the power of Biblical faith in healing and deliverance.     As a test, simply consider deeply the little books of John, Acts and Romans and see what you think.
Christ Jesus, in the Bible, teaches that in the end of the “Age of the Gentiles” will come a time when the darkness will get very dark and the light will get very bright, Matt.24, Mark 13, Luke 21. Seems to me that this is what is happening in our world today. The Bible teaches that in that time that the church of man will become a powerless institution without the Spirit of God and to turn away from that emptiness, 2 Tim.3, and find a gathering of folks simple seeking to become like Jesus. So what does a Biblical Church look like,
First of all it looks like a family or a flock of sheep enjoying being in unity and guarded by a good shepherd that they follow due to their trust and good protection and good food and water.
There is absolutely no manipulation in a Biblical Church as God always honors our free will and will not violate or manipulate our free will so all are there in unity by choice. Love can not exist unless totally free.
The Biblical Church meets where ever there is freedom and any love offerings given should be used for missions and to help the poor. Usually a Biblical Church is rather small so that the Pastor can know and be known of the flock. This is usually not much more than about 70 people before the Church needs consider dividing and to have another elder/pastor confirmed of the Holy Spirit for a new “House” Church as noted in the New Testament.
Each Elder/Pastor would find it helpful to also be training or mentoring another pastor. And all of the elders in a local area should come together once each week to keep the “Unity of the Faith in the bond of Peace.” and resolve issues objectively in the Holy Spirit. Eventually, a given area should have hundreds of “House Church” gatherings and saturate and area for the lifting up of Christ Jesus, Eph.4:11-16.
The basic approach to the House Church gathering is simple like the Tabernacle of Moses in the wilderness.   The Early Church followed the Temple guide in Acts 2:41-47.   This is not in any way or must be done all the time kind of a guide line. It is simply a very good way to bring folks into the Kingdom of God. But the Holy Spirit will guide a gathering into the best way to meet all of the needs of the people who have taken the time and energy to come.
The Tabernacle was divided in to 3 areas, Outer Court (door, alter, laver) then the Inner Court (show bread, prayer, body life ministry) and then the Holy Place. In the Early Church the door was the Testimony of Christ Jesus, The Altar was the ministry of the WORD OF GOD) and the laver was the Agape Meal. Then the LORD’s supper, Prayers, And the Saints ministered to one another in the Holy Spirit. And finally the gathering came to the Elders for any final needed ministry. These 7 steps brought a soul from the carnal world into the presence of GOD for the ministry to their needs. God’s power and love becomes obvious in HIS healing and deliverance.
Meetings can be conducted on any evening and go as long as anyone that is there needs ministry. If the gathering is in three stages then folks can leave if not interested at any time without feeling uncomfortable about leaving. But gatherings are more powerful when everyone present is in faith with what is going on.   The Church is not a Theater it is a yielding to the Holy Spirit and you never know what HE is going to do. The gathering is an interactive Forum where the Holy Spirit presides and the elders assist to keep order and keep the wolves from taking over..   One week may be more evangelical, another may have more healings and yet another may be more a time of intense deliverance. Some time a Prophet will be led to make corrections or a Teacher to give a teaching on Faith as per the Holy Spirit. The gathering works best when the Elders in charge support the Holy Spirit in what HE would like to do at the time. And to also make sure that false doctrine and divisions are dealt with in love very quickly.
Usually, in building a new fire,   it has been my experience for the Holy Spirit to first bring in the leadership and get them trained in basket building.   Then comes the heart training in the Fruit of the Spirit, Gifts of the Spirit and the Ministries of the Spirit. I had just completed a study on this for Friday but my computer deleted it???? Punched the wrong key I guess. So I will do it again and perhaps make it better.   But this, I hope will help a bit for Friday.
