GOD IS FOR US,      “WORTH CONSIDERING”   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“…If God is for us, who can be against us?”  (Romans 8:31, NIV)
God Is On Your Side

As a believer in Jesus and a child of His, God is on your side! If you haven’t thought about it yet today, remember, you are created for greatness. There is no obstacle that can stop you. There is no disadvantage that can hold you back. You’re in the palms of God’s hands, and He has equipped and empowered you. Quit telling yourself, “I’ll always struggle in this area. I’ll never lose this weight. I’ll never get out of debt.” Change your perspective. You are not weak, defeated or inferior. You are full of “can do” power. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives on the inside of you.

God is on your side. Let that sink down into your heart today. Begin to expect His favor. Expect Him to work in your life. Focus on the fact that God has equipped you. He has anointed you. Your best days are still out in front of you! If God is for you, no one can rise against you! As you meditate on this promise, it will become real to you. You will walk in the favor and victory of God!

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for being on my side today. Thank You for equipping and empowering me to accomplish everything You’ve called me to. Give me a deeper revelation of Your love for me today so that I can live the abundant life You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen”

My Thoughts:
This is great,  but if you read the whole chapter of Romans 8,  Paul teaches that we also have to choose to be on the side of Christ Jesus in all that we do.   It is not enough to get a Baptismal Paper from your church or think that you are a good person, so all is well.   It is imperative that you truly love Jesus and keep HIS commandments.  Our past sins are forgiven by GOD,  The Almighty when we make Jesus our LORD and receive HIM as our Savior.  That HE took our sins upon Himself as per Isaiah 53 and paid our penalty for us.

Then as a Believer,  walking in the Holy Spirit, we can expect Him to guide and protect us.  But there are so many voices in this world to try to know which is HIS, which is ours and which is the lying enemy.  A person who smokes hears the voice of the enemy clearly with it’s demands in their heart,  “I want a cigarette!”  When they are desperately trying to quit.  The enemy knows that it can shorten a life by about 5 years if it can keep one smoking.  So how do we tell when the voice is GOD and when it is not and rebuke it in Jesus name?  First of all,  GOD never contradicts what HE has given us a Truth through HIS Prophets.  So if you know the WORD OF GOD that is an exceptional filter for HIS voice.   Also is it really loving to God, Yourself and Others.  Is the voice concerned about your eternal destiny and that of others? 

The Word of God teaches us that we are on earth for a very short period of testing to give us the opportunity to choose light rather than the darkness we were born into.  So does the voice seek to bring us into more darkness or more light?  The Creator’s ultimate intention is to help us become like Christ Jesus.  But we need to sign on and want to go that way before HE can help us.  Our free will must be activated to seek the light and God’s Love and then He will extend Grace and Mercy to help us.  He is in the process of creating souls to be in HIS Image and likeness and become a part of HIS eternal family if we are up for it.  If not, we will experience the opposite in eternity as per our choice.  He will allow us to remain in the darkness that we have chosen as each of us is an eternal soul.  He totally honors the free will that we experience in this dimension of time.  He will not violate that freewill for it is the part of us that also can learn to LOVE.

So knowing how to hear the GOD voice of the Holy Spirit in our heart is most important.  Don’t leave planet earth without knowing it.  Abraham is a prime example of getting to really hear the voice of GOD.  Heb. 11

Today’s Scripture
“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace…”  (Isaiah 55:12, NIV)

Living With Enthusiasm
The word “enthusiasm” comes from the Greek word “entheos.” “Theos” is God. When you’re enthusiastic, it simply means you are full of God. When you get up in the morning excited about your future, recognizing that day is a gift and go out with a spring in your step, pursuing your goals and passionate about life, then God will breathe in your direction. Studies tell us that people who are enthusiastic get better breaks. They’re promoted more often. That’s not a coincidence. When you’re full of passion, you have the favor of God.

Remember, God didn’t breathe His life into us to drag through the day. He didn’t create us in His image, crown us with His favor, and equip us with His power to just go through the motions of life. You may have had some setbacks, the wind may have been taken out of your sail, but this is a new day! God wants to breathe new life back into you. If you’ll get your fire back, get your passion back, the wind will start blowing once again. When you’re in agreement with God, He can cause the winds of favor to shift in your direction!

 A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for another sunrise, another day, another opportunity to praise You and pursue the dreams You’ve given me. Help me to stay filled with Your joy which is strength so I can serve You with my whole heart in everything that I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
Last night,  we had another productive House Church gathering of about a doz. saints.  And a great testimony was given by one of the members concerning the difference in their life as to being baptized in the Holy Spirit.   Another did not believe him as he was quoting the thoughts of one of the different churches that he attends.  This guy giving the testimony had so much new enthusiasm and so much renewal that he was not about to back down.   So we had two heavy duty Hawaiians,  lovingly,  dukeing it out but trying to be lovingly nice.   The time was rather electrified,  the “Pot Blessing” was also really great.   And now perhaps I need to spend some time on the Biblical position next week for the “Gifts of the Spirit” ( 1 Cor. 12:1-11) that come with the empowering of the Holy Spirit. 

So thought that I would just list the Biblical verses on the subject and ask for your thoughts.

Peter quoted Joel 2:28 on Pentecost  :28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:  29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

I like to include as it demonstrates how powerful unity is:  Gen. 11:  5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.  6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.  7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.     (So we don’t want to be divide concerning the power of the Holy Spirit.)

1 Cor. 14:1-5,  Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy ([a]interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching).  2 For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].  3 But [on the other hand], the one who prophesies [who [b]interprets the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching] speaks to men for their upbuilding and constructive spiritual progress and encouragement and consolation.  4 He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself, but he who prophesies [[c]interpreting the divine will and purpose and teaching with inspiration] edifies and improves the church and promotes growth [in Christian wisdom, piety, holiness, and happiness].  5 Now I wish that you might all speak in [unknown] tongues, but more especially [I want you] to prophesy (to be inspired to preach and interpret the divine will and purpose). He who prophesies [who is inspired to preach and teach] is greater (more useful and more important) than he who speaks in [unknown] tongues, unless he should interpret [what he says], so that the church may be edified and receive good [from it].  AMPC (Amplified)

The Disciples were Born from Above in the Upper Room at the Resurrection of Christ Jesus but not                         empowered by the Holy Spirit until 50 days later.
Paul was saved on the road to Damascus and filled with the Holy Spirit 3 days later:   Act.9:19
Philip had a revival among the Samaritans and Baptized them.  They were later filled with the Holy Spirit         when Peter and John came up to Samaria.   Acts 8:14-25,  possible months later.
Paul’s first words to the disciples of Apollos were:  Acts 19:2   And he asked them, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed [on Jesus as the Christ]? And they said, No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.

So in this study we see that one can be Baptized into the Holy Spirit at the same time as being Born from Above.   But personally,  I have not found this to be true today, very often, due to a lack of obedience.    And this is the reason that most of Christianity is powerless.  Most of the time, as John Wesley said, there is a need for this 2nd work of Grace.

Luke 11:9-13 is the key for this empowering to happen along with obedience,  Acts 5:32  &  Hebrews 5:9

UNIQUE

UNIQUE,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”   (Across my desk yesterday.)

Today’s Scripture
“I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.”  (1 Corinthians 4:3, NIV)

God Loves Your Uniqueness!
Many people are insecure about who they are, so they constantly try to gain the approval of everybody around them so they can feel better about themselves. They end up living to please other people, trying to fit into their molds so they can be accepted. They act one way for their boss, another way for their spouse, and another way for their friends.

If you are going to enjoy your life to the full, you must learn to be confident as the individual God made you to be. You are anointed to be the person God has called you to be! If you are secure in who God made you, you can resist those outside demands and pressures that try to mold you into something you’re not. Don’t rely on the opinions and approval of others. Don’t let them steal your unique creativity. God made each of us with a different purpose. As you continue to grow in your relationship with the Lord, through prayer, worship and fellowship, you will gain confidence in the Lord that will free you from the opinions of man and allow you to be who God called you to be!

A Prayer for Today
“God, I want to live for your approval alone. I need to feel your strength when I feel tempted to change who I am to conform to this world. Please help me to remember that You love me just the way I am! In Jesus’ name – Amen.”

My Thoughts:
On the LORD’s land in which my wife and I live we have an abundance of stones.  Stone walls on four sides,  stone wall across in the middle and stones holding up raised garden beds.  In fact there were so many stones on this property that I gave away 90 cubic yards and am still giving stones away as needed.  And yet not one stone is like another in the whole world.  Every stone is unique.   When Apostle Paul was teaching about building the Church of Christ Jesus in Eph.4:11-16 in the King James he mentions “Living Stones” which is now the name of a church community in Kona.   In primitive times in South America the stone walls looked like this:

And it is an exceptional example of what Paul was teaching about for the building of the Church of Christ Jesus.  We, even today, with modern equipment can not build a stone wall like this.  An amazing work of art & craftsmanship.  In the Holy Spirit Paul writes:  Eph.4:11-16 in the Amplified and it reads like this:

11 And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers.12 His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ’s body (the church),13 [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [[a]full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ’s own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.14 So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of [b]unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead.15 Rather, let our lives lovingly [c]express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).16 For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love. 

Personally, I don’t believe we will get to go home until the Church of Christ Jesus is a perfect match for HIM.

Now the amazing thing about love is that love can not exist without freewill.  So we are expected to build a Church in the Holy Spirit that looks like Jesus out of UNIQUE stones where none are alike.  Not a brick building but a stone building of loving living stones because we want to (freewill) so that the glue is LOVE AND WILL BE LIKE JESUS.     MY,  WHAT A LOT OF FAITH..!!!  GOD HAS FOR US.

I once ask God to share with me HIS definition of LOVE.   And quietly, in my spirit, HE said, “Love is the highest good for the other person, regardless of personal cost.”   That is why the sacrifice of Christ Jesus gives us the epitome of the revelation of GOD’s LOVE.  Our Heavenly Father watched as HIS only begotten son was turned into raw meat and tortured to death so that we could be redeemed.  “He who knew no sin became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of GOD in HIM.”  Isa. 53, Psalm 22.

So here at our little budding house church in Kealia, HI  tonight we have a small space and time set aside to try learn just how to do this.  No traditions just the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.  And to remember that like living stones,  snow flakes and cherry blossoms we are greatly LOVED of GOD and UNIQUE but not really special.  God loves us all the same.  And HE loves the world even in the sin as HE loves us as HE knows the potential of what they could be in Christ Jesus.  And HE has trusted this BEAUTIFUL TRUTH into our hands to share with this sick WORLD in which we now live.

FORGIVENESS

FORGIVENESS,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”   (Across my desk this morning.) 

Today’s Scripture
“…and [love] keeps no record of being wronged.”  (1 Corinthians 13:5, NLT)

Keep No Record
The Bible says that God is love. He doesn’t just have love, He is love. The love we have is an extension of Him. When you invite Jesus to be the Lord of your life, the Bible says that He actually makes His home in your heart. Think about that for a minute. The Creator of the universe, who cannot be contained by anything, chose to make His home on the inside of your heart. That means that perfect love is on the inside of you. First Corinthians 13 tells us what that looks like. When we are walking in God’s love, we are patient. We are kind. Love always forgives. That means choosing to let go of bitterness, hurt and anger. If you have a mental list of all the people who have hurt or offended you, let it go. Let His love work in you and through you today.

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for loving and setting me free. Thank You for choosing to live on the inside of my heart. Show me if I am holding on to unforgiveness in any area so that I can forgive and walk in peace and victory today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

My Thoughts,
In talking with a young man a few days ago I noticed that he totally avoided another friend of mine due to something that HAPPENED in the past????   He said that Jesus was with him and so I asked him about forgiveness??? as in the “Lord’s Prayer.”    His reply was that he had forgiven him but it was OK not to like him and to avoid him.  My thoughts ran to ,  “I am sure glad that my Heavenly Creator does not treat me that way.”  

Also we also  have a big problem with guilt by association.  We were deeply hurt by someone in the past and our heart has lockeded in on that.   And here comes along someone in the future who for some reason reminds you of that pain and we tend shut out that person for no reason at all.  To reject someone is really the root meaning of hate.  But in the Early Church rejection was also used for correction,  but always with the opportunity for forgiveness and restoration.  We call this tough love.  But the motivation is not personal but community corrective as in:
Matt. 18:1111 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

And we need to be constantly be reminded in reality that we stand in faith as in Rom. 11:21               For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: (Faith)  otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.


So we stand in and through faith to be found in HIS KINGDOM and James teaches us that our works will truly reveal our faith.  James clearly teaches that faith without resulting action does not exist.  So if you have no concern for the lost no desire to find and keep the commandments of Christ Jesus your eternal  fire insurance may have become invalid as in Isa.28:9  Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.  14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. 15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

This is very important so let me put it into another translation for those interested:   Isaiah 28:9 To whom will He teach knowledge? [Ask the drunkards.] And whom will He make to understand the message? Those who are babies, just weaned from the milk and taken from the breasts? [Is that what He thinks we are?]10 For it is [His prophets repeating over and over]: precept upon precept, precept upon precept, rule upon rule, rule upon rule; here a little, there a little.11 No, but [the Lord will teach the rebels in a more humiliating way] by men with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people [says Isaiah, and teach them His lessons].12 To these [complaining Jews the Lord] had said, This is the true rest [the way to true comfort and happiness] that you shall give to the weary, and, This is the [true] refreshing—yet they would not listen [to His teaching]. 13 Therefore the word of the Lord will be to them [merely monotonous repeatings of]: precept upon precept, precept upon precept, rule upon rule, rule upon rule; here a little, there a little—that they may go and fall backward, and be broken and snared and taken.14 Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you scoffers who rule this people in Jerusalem!15 Because you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol (the place of the dead) we have an agreement—when the overflowing scourge passes through, it will not come to us, for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have taken shelter.16 Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not [b]be ashamed or give way or hasten away [in sudden panic].17 I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plummet; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the hiding place (the shelter).   AMPC

So what is the evidence that you are a True Believer in Christ Jesus?   Do you share His word and commandments when given the opportunity?  Are there others living in Faith in Christ Jesus as LORD due to your help?  If you were convicted for being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you.   Even the lost,  love and do good  to those they love.  Even atheists do this…..  So works alone do no qualify.  It is in making Christ Jesus LORD that HE becomes our Savior.  Christ Jesus as LORD is the only way of Salvation.

ABUNDANCE

ABUNDANCE,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”     ( Found on my desk today.)

Today’s Scripture
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”  (John 10:10, NIV)  “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” AMPC

Created to Thrive
So many people today are living with a survival mentality instead of a thriving mentality. They have a mentality that says, “If I can just make it through…” or “If I can just get by…” Of course, there are some seasons that are more difficult than others. Sometimes it’s challenging to get a vision for the future. But if you are constantly living with a survival mentality, you are missing out on God’s best. Scripture doesn’t say, “Jesus came so you could survive.” No, it says that He came to give you a full, abundant life!

If you are living in survival mode right now, today can be your turning point. If you’ll take a step of faith and begin to declare, “My days of survival are over; my days of thriving have begun,” I believe God will meet your faith. I believe He will open an unexpected door. He’ll pour out His favor and blessing on you. He’ll make a way where there seems to be no way! Even if you’re in a tough time right now, remember that tough times don’t last, but the Word of the Lord stands forever. Begin to declare what God says about your circumstances because you are created for more than to just get by—you are created to thrive!

A Prayer for Today
“Father God, thank You for giving me abundant life through Jesus Christ. I believe that You have a good plan for my future. I declare that my days of thriving have begun as I continue to put my faith and trust in You alone in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My thoughts:
Abundant is used more than 44 times in the AMPC and 64 times in the King James.  An interesting study.
Amplified:  The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).  The word abundance is used in conjunction with beauty, honor, grace, affection, blessings, rejoicing,  and mercy.  It seems we should be spilling this stuff out this ABUNDANCE all over the place.  When you have an abundance of groceries the bags usually break.

Of course, the tricky part is,  “how do we turn it on?”  How do we really really get from feeling dried up to abundance?  James 5:12-19 (16) gives us a clue.  12 But above all [things], my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath; but let your yes be [a simple] yes, and your no be [a simple] no, so that you may not sin and fall under condemnation.  13 Is anyone among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil)? He should pray. Is anyone glad at heart? He should sing praise [to God].  14 Is anyone among you sick? He should call in the church elders (the spiritual guides). The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].  17 Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months.  18 And [then] he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops [as usual]. 19 [My] brethren, if anyone among you strays from the Truth and falls into error and another [person] brings him back [to God],20 Let the [latter] one be sure that whoever turns a sinner from his evil course will save [that one’s] soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins [[a]procure the pardon of the many sins committed by the convert].  (NOW READ AGAIN FOR UNDERSTANDING…. !)  FAITH grows as we digest and deeply submit to the WORD OF GOD.

So if interested in an abundance from our Loving Creator,  pick up on what HIS interests are and help on the Spiritual side of things with HIS Kingdom.  In other words:  Matthew 6:33 [Full Chapter]  AMPC

“Seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”  And remember also Luke 12:15:  “ And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”

Borrow only for needs and then never borrow unless the item + the total interest is less than what you would have to pay for it later.  For the borrower always becomes the servant of the lender.  Borrowing places you into a position of slavery.

ENTHUSIASM

Living With Enthusiasm
The word “enthusiasm” comes from the Greek word “entheos.” “Theos” is God. When you’re enthusiastic, it simply means you are full of God. When you get up in the morning excited about your future, recognizing that day is a gift and go out with a spring in your step, pursuing your goals and passionate about life, then God will breathe in your direction. Studies tell us that people who are enthusiastic get better breaks. They’re promoted more often. That’s not a coincidence. When you’re full of passion, you have the favor of God.

Remember, God didn’t breathe His life into us to drag through the day. He didn’t create us in His image, crown us with His favor, and equip us with His power to just go through the motions of life. You may have had some setbacks, the wind may have been taken out of your sail, but this is a new day! God wants to breathe new life back into you. If you’ll get your fire back, get your passion back, the wind will start blowing once again. When you’re in agreement with God, He can cause the winds of favor to shift in your direction!

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for another sunrise, another day, another opportunity to praise You and pursue the dreams You’ve given me. Help me to stay filled with Your joy which is strength so I can serve You with my whole heart in everything that I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
There is possibly a dozen reasons why I should just trash this anti-depression note.  This world is full of hooks and small threads that seem to hook into us to try to keep us down.  And if we start counting them, pretty soon,  we are in a do nothing pile of self pity.  But I keep coming back to the fact that my Creator love me and has a beautiful plan for my life even at 86.  that it is not over till it is over.  That at even at my age I am learning things now that I could not have learned before now.  I now have empathy and a love and understanding for old people like never before.  There is a deeper level of patience in my life that would not have been possible till now.  Seeking to become a Holy Man of God no longer seems an impossibility.

I was talking to the LORD the other day and a little depressed and HE started reminding me that it was not the stuff that was important for HIM but the changes in me to become like HIM.  That HE was intent on prepping me to be able to make the shift to light speed so to be with HIM if I wanted to.  He really wanted to introduce me into HIS eternal “Real Word” as opposed to the temporal time world in which I was now being tested and tried in.  This helped me to get a different perspective on my daily walk.  When I can not fined my cane,  “so what?”  When family lies to me,  that is their problem,  not mine.  If my old house (body) that I live in springs a leak….  Hmmmm,  after all, it is an old house,  I will soon need a new one.  Patch it up if I can but nothing to get depressed about as my Creator love me and has plans to give me a perfectly working new house when my testing is completed.  And not only a new house but a perfect place to live that is without weeds and broken glass, sin and trash.  So as I set my mind to consider the coming KINGDOM of GOD,  that become what is important and something to really be enthusiastic about.   The glitz of this world is truly temporary and mostly a lie anyway.  Obviously we have badly trashed this world.  It is no wonder that the Creator has told us that HE will give it a firey finally and make a new one for a people who are looking for HIS return with Enthusiasm and Expectancy.  A people who want to live in righteousness.  A people who have finished their course, passed their finals,  kept the faith, and then receive their rewards.  It is all in the “WORD OF GOD” if you are interested.

2 Corinthians 2:11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Toward the end of 1941, as the second world war was raging in Europe, the Japanese ambassador was sent to Washington D.C. apparently seeking peace; however back in Japan, the emperor was planning the attack on Pearl Harbor.  The Japanese empire sent their ambassador to D.C. as a distraction, so the sudden attack on Pearl Harbor took the United States by surprise.

Distraction is a common tactic in warfare. Our enemy is constantly seeking to distract us, both to divert our energies and to keep our eyes off his attack strategy.  He wants to distract us from our calling and set us up for the kill.  Whether it’s things of this world, getting caught up in issues that are really not our business,  personal rivalries, pointless worrying, or fruitless endeavors — let’s face it — we can be easily distracted! We need to constantly refocus our attention to the things that truly matter as we fight the good fight.

So be aware of this tactic of the enemy — learn it well. Take a break, check your activities and priorities for distraction, and see if it’s being used against you. Then refocus your energy towards the good fight!

GODLY AGGRESSION,        “WORTH CONSIDERING”   (Across my desk yesterday.)

Today’s Scripture
“…the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.”  Matt. 11:12

 God Wants You To Go For It!
It’s time to be aggressive and energetic when it comes to letting go of the past and pressing forward to the abundant life God has in store. You can’t sit around in self-pity and think about what you lost, who hurt you, and how unfair it was. It’s time to develop a warrior mentality and boldly go after your victory! A warrior doesn’t complain about opposition; a warrior loves a good fight. It’s time to proactively pursue the happiness, health, and peace that is promised in God’s Word. God told Joshua to cross over the Jordan and go in and possess the land. Notice that the word “possess” implies action. It means to drive out the previous tenants. It’s time to quit dwelling on past mistakes and failures and determine to never look back! As you set your focus on the Word of God and His promises, you’ll discover victory rising in every area of your life—you’ll discover the champion in you!

A Prayer for Today
“God, I want to live the victorious life you intended for me. I know I am not perfect, but help me to focus on the future, not my past mistakes, and grant me the courage to pursue the happiness, health, and peace that you promised for me. In Jesus’ name – Amen.”

My Thoughts:
Jesus cleansing of the Temple was rather aggressive,  but without sin.  His frustration with the faith level of HIS disciples at times was evident but without sin.   His comments to the religious leaders in John 8 were very aggressive.  Sometimes demonic deliverance can also be very aggressive.   So it would seem that putting on the armor of God, Eph.6:16,  with sword and shield would seem a lot more aggressive than just being placid and defensive.  We are even instructed to reprove, rebuke and exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. 2 Tim2:15,  4:2,  Titus 2:15,  Rev.12:11.

But the above scripture of Matt. 11:12 would seem to also include several spiritual positions.  !.  To be in the Spirit and stripped down for battle.  2. Not be living in or justifying sin, pride or rebellion.  3. Being guided by the Holy Spirit to do so.  Some times the enemy must be stopped with an all out 100%, go for broke, aggressive attack to get the victory.    Just make sure it is the real enemy and not a person for whom Christ died to save.  In the Great Tribulation the profound WRATH of GOD will be demonstrated due to the rejection of Christ Jesus as the Lamb of GOD for the sins of the world.  Which will end with a massive steel junk pile and rivers of blood,  Armageddon.    Today we are encouraged to come into HIS KINGDOM by Love and Grace and forgiveness.  But Tomorrow HIS judgment will be the opposite and extremely severe.

WALKING ON WATER

WALKING ON WATER,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”   6/13/19   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“They saw the works of the Lord, his wonderful deeds in the deep.”  (Psalm 107:24, NIV)

When You’re in Deep
The Scripture says, “They that go down to the sea and do business in deep waters. They will see the wonders of God” (Psalm 107). Friend, you and I were created to do business in deep waters. In other words, we’re not supposed to have little dreams or little plans. We are supposed to have big dreams. We are supposed to go out into the deep things God has for us.

But understand, when you’re out there in the deep waters, you can’t touch the bottom. You can’t see the shoreline, and at times, it can get a little rocky. You may not always see how things are going to work out. But the Scripture tells us that deep calls to deep. In other words, God is the One who has called you to the deep waters. He is with you, and He knows there are deep things inside you. Remember, in deep waters, you are not alone. God is with you, and He’s causing those deep things that are inside you to come forth.

If you feel like you are out in the deep today, if you feel overwhelmed, remember, you are in the right place and God is with you. You will see His wonderful deeds in the deep, and you will fulfill the plan He has in store for you.

A Prayer for Today
“Father in heaven, I surrender every area of my life to You. I hunger for every single thing You have in store for me. I choose to trust You out in the deep waters knowing that You have good things in store for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
Immediately,  my thoughts went to Jesus and Peter and as the story was told:
Matthew 14:24-36 Amplified Bible (AMP)24 But the boat [by this time] was already a [a]long distance from land, tossed and battered by the waves; for the wind was against them.  25 And in the fourth watch of the night (3:00-6:00 a.m.) Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. 26 When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear. 27 But immediately He spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I! Do not be afraid!”28 Peter replied to Him, “Lord, if it is [really] You, command me to come to You on the water.”  29 He said, “Come!” So Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw [the effects of] the wind, he was frightened, and he began to sink, and he cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus extended His hand and caught him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you [b]doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those in the boat worshiped Him [with awe-inspired reverence], saying, “Truly You are the Son of God!”34 When they had crossed over [the sea], they went ashore at Gennesaret.   35 And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent word throughout all the surrounding district and brought to Him all who were sick;  36 and they begged Him to let them merely touch the fringe of His robe; and all who touched it were perfectly restored.

So seems to me in 2,000 years we have really drifted a far piece from what is the “REAL FAITH.”   that Christ Jesus and Paul write about in Matt:14:12 and Heb. 11 and in 2 Tim.3:5 as to what it is and is not.    Ever gone to the beach and tried to walk on the water???  when no one was watching??  I have,  LOL..   So how do we get from where we are to where we are suppose to be into doing what Jesus did?   Matt.14:12:   Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Seems to me that we have tried to make ourselves look good outside without the battles of changing that are needed inside.  That there is a certain amount of hypocrisy in the church today that is acceptable as our religious social comfort zone has adapted to this world.  Seems we are going to need to trash just about everything that we have learned as traditional church if we want to secure the “Real Faith” that Jesus teaches about.   And I am still in the boat with you and the rest of the disciples…  actually Peter is the fist and only one who that I know of that got far enough into the Kingdom and Real Faith to walk on water besides Christ Jesus.  So do we buckle down,  clean house and seek the Holy Spirit on how to have this kind of “Real Faith”  or do we simply modify our comfort zone so as to again and again shelve this challenge to live peacefully in our comfort zone?   I had to get into the water to learn to swim.  Perhaps we need to get deeper into the WORD OF GOD to grow in “Real Faith” with an expectancy to enjoy the supernatural of GOD’S LOVE?

CIVIL WAR IN THE U.S.A. 

NOTE: For ten years THERE HAVE been publishing warnings of civil conflict in the USA. A decade ago these warnings seemed very unlikely - even ridiculous. But today nobody is laughing. What is our focus? Are we already at "war" in some way? Why are Christians so totally distracted from their  mission - fighting earthly battles instead of spreading the gospel? Why so obsessed with left-right tirades while the 'harvest' takes a back seat? There is nothing the devil would love more than to have the Christians caught up in politics, rather than the kingdom. LIGHT       “WORTH CONSIDERING”    6/10/19,   (Found in my mail box tonight from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“When darkness overtakes him, light will come bursting in.”(Psalm 112:4, TLB)

Light in the Darkness
Everyone goes through night seasons of difficulty or times when things just seem dark. During these challenging times, know that you are not alone. God has a plan to drive out the darkness—He will flood you with His light! Notice that in today’s verse it doesn’t say, “The light will come trickling in.” No, it says that the light will come bursting in! It’s going to happen suddenly, unexpectedly; you won’t see it coming. You woke up, and it was still dark. Nothing had changed, but suddenly you get the break you need, your health turns around, you meet the right person. The light comes bursting in.

If you’ve been going through a night season, get ready for the goodness of God in a new way. Know that His light is about to come bursting in! Get ready for breakthroughs. Get ready for promotion. Get ready for restoration. You may have had that problem for a long, long time, but today could be the day that it turns around. Suddenly, things can change! God wants His glory to be seen on you. He wants you to stand out in the crowd. He wants you to be so blessed that everyone around you can see His goodness on you! So keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping and keep declaring His Word because His light is going to come bursting in!

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your light that drives out every trace of darkness! I choose to expect Your goodness. I choose to focus on Your faithfulness. I trust that You are working behind the scenes, and I expect that You will turn things around for my good in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
You know, some things can be read a couple of different ways.  That part that is written,” HE want’s you to stand out in the crowd” can be full of pride or Jesus.  But then it goes on to read, the everyone can see HIS goodness on you.  So then we are OK.   I get nervous if folks start giving me GODS GLORY,  dangerous stuff.

But as things are now I go fishing for folks that are looking for light just about every day.  Big table for breakfast at Denny’s this morning across from us,  nice orderly local family of 8.  And while we were eating breakfast the Holy Spirit seemed to say to me,  “Make a paper airplane.”  So I did out of my “Let there be light tracts.”  And then it set on the table and I ate my whole meal.  But the 7 year old across from me never looked my way so no contact…..  But then as I left I walked (limped) over to their table and showed the little plane to mom and ask her permission,  she said yes.   Jr. grabbed the little plane and was off in his F-35.  The whole table lit up to thank me for the little gift of love and Jr. went home with God’s Light tucked inside his little paper airplane.   On the outside of the paper airplane is says,  “Let There Be Light”  If you got one, would you not want to find out what is says?   And here is what it says: 

Let There Be Light
And God said, let there be light and there was light: (1).   Arise, shine: for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee (2).    Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead and Christ shall give thee light (3). This is the message which we have heard and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all (4).   He that doeth the truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God  (5).   If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin (6). This is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil (7).   For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved (8). I really like fishing with the WORD OF GOD and HIS Bible says that he will always let me catch some fish.  I am into my 3 printing now of 1,000 each time at .10 cents each.   So here is a wonderful way of having a ton of fun in the Spirit in giving out GOD’S Light for only .10 cents.   If you like the idea get some printed for yourself and have some real fun in the Holy Spirit in turning on some lights and making some kids happy.
I have never had one rejected or turned down.  Had one read in McDonald’s, out loud, in the middle of the dining area.   A story for another time.
