VISIONS

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

VISIONS,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”   1/27/20        (Note across my desk today from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“For still the vision awaits its appointed time…If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay…”  (Habakkuk 2:3, ESV)

Right on Time
None of us like to go through waiting periods, but we all have things we’re waiting on—a dream to come to pass, our health to improve, to meet the right person. We know God put the promise in our heart, but we wonder why it’s taking so long to happen. The Scripture says there’s an appointed time, which means any other time is the wrong time. If you don’t understand that God will always be right on time, the waiting periods will cause you to be frustrated. But you can only receive the promise within God’s timing. He knows when you’re ready, when to open the door, when to turn it around. If it’s not happening yet, be mature enough to say with David, “God, my times are in Your hands.”  Now do your part and trust Him. Wait for the God who created the universe to unfold His plan for your life.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You know what I need and have an appointed time set to get it to me. I choose to stop stressing out over what I don’t have, knowing it will be here down to the very second of when I really need it. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts,
With Christ Jesus, His vision was perfect and of the Holy Spirit and what HE prayed for in John 17, I am sure will come to pass as in the Divine plan of creating HIS Heavenly Family.   But with us as the children of Adam being drawn by the Holy Spirit to become the children of God there is an intense battle and the lusts of the flesh, lusts of the flesh and pride of life can try to take God’s Glory and use it for our earthly glory.  Especially in Church Leadership I have seen many that were working on building their own ivory towers rather than GOD’S Kingdom.  So I am not sure that as even a young Christian seeking to grow into a Holy Man that the path is without pot holes.  Personally, in my ministry from 1968, I have been tripped up on not a few.  It is a real challenge to walk in humility and obedience when all around you think that you are God’s man of the hour  & power.  That is the reason that the Holy Spirit set up the Eldership of the Church of Christ Jesus with level authority to be guided by each other and the Holy Spirit.   And then ordained deacons to take care of the financial needs as per the direction of the Holy Spirit through the Elders.

Personally I have not seen this structure in existence from the 1st Century in Acts 15.  And the church has been faltering and dividing from that time on.  So we have a tendency to hurry and make decisions that are not of the Holy Spirit and then blame GOD when it does not work.   The Holy Spirit gave a prophetical example of how to come into the presence of God in the Old Testament Tabernacle of Moses and with the fulfilling of it in the New Testament in Acts 2:41-47 and 5:15.   I have not seen this come to pass in my life time.   So vain traditions can take us away from the Kingdom and the Power of God.  So if we make our vain traditions our comfort zone we will never see Eph. 4:11-16 come to pass in seeing the LORD among us doing exactly what he did on earth in the Gospels.

So make sure that your vision is of the Holy Spirit before you get 100% behind it as if it is not of the Holy Spirit you will be disappointed and probably blame God for your train wreck.

We have many “Good Christian Traditions Today” which did not come from God, the Holy Spirit, Jesus or the Bible.   If I were to go through them on a piece of paper you would just toss the note and that would be the end of it.  Never the less, to do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome is one of the definitions of insanity.   And yet we do this and get totally bored in the process.  We then start church hopping or just stay home and do something more profitable or enjoyable and cost less money.

I will leave you with two sacred cows to deal with in our traditional “church.”.   Tithing is not once commanded in the New Testament.   It is an Old Testament principle.  In the New Testament God is requesting that we put 100% of who we are and what we have been given to be under HIS direction.  It is a total sell out and not just 10% as in the Old Testament.  But it is between HIM and US and no one else.

Luke 6:38 [Full Chapter]
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”

2 Corinthians 9:7   Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

GRACE OF GOD

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

GRACE OF GOD,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”   1/24/20,   (Across my desk today.)

Today’s Scripture
“Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe…”  (Mark 5:36, NIV)

Wake Up
A synagogue leader named Jairus came to Jesus and pleaded, “Will You please come to my house and heal my little daughter who’s dying?” Jesus said He would, but then was delayed to the point that news came that the girl had died. Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” When Jesus arrived at the house, everyone was upset and crying. He said to them, “The child is not dead but asleep.” He went in and said to the girl, “Wake up,” and instantly she stood up and was perfectly well.

You may have dreams you’ve given up on, promises you think there’s no way they can happen now. The good news is they’re not dead, they’re just asleep. God is about to wake up what you thought was dead. He’s going to bring to life dreams you’ve given up on. Now do your part and start believing, get your hopes up. Your dreams are waking up right now.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that no matter what happens in my life, You have the final say. Thank You that I can get my hopes up and choose to not dwell on negative reports. I believe that You are waking up the promises and breathing life into my dreams. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Comments:
For nearly 49 years I have felt and dreamed that the Holy Creator is going to do a mighty work on the Big Island of Hawaii with another Pentecost.  A Pentecost that will send holy waves of the Holy Spirit back around the world that originally came from Jerusalem.  Last night in the early morning I felt that same gentle feeling of warm faith that the Heavenly Father was about to proceed with the fulfilling of that vision or dream.  It is a dream of where dividing fences are blown away by the awesome presence of the power of the Holy Spirit.  And the people of Hawaii will see the LORD and flock to him with denominations melting together into one like beads of mercury coming together without a seam of personal identity.  That the prayer of Christ Jesus, in John 17 will begin to be fulfilled in actual fact.  There was given no time factor but considering my age of 87, I feel it may begin soon.  So I rather take heart in faith with the word received today and joyfully enter in to the vision for the Big Island of Hawaii.

Seems the only issues holding this back may be our lack of full commitment to the holiness of God in trusting Him to the point of seeking 1st the Kingdom of God and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS so that HE can give us all things and to be more than conquerors in HIM.  Old vain traditions must go.  All of the nice Christian sins must go.  When we,  as the Church of God, come to be like Jesus then the mountains will be removed and faith will truly become both substance and evidence as in Heb. 11 and the World will see Jesus and come to HIM.  Eph. 4:11-16.

We are challenged to come into unity in and over the Word of God so that we can speak HIS Truth in LOVE so that lives are changed.  We must learn to tune into the Holy Spirit and to know HIS voice in our heart from all others.  We must come to trust God for our needs and not the world, flesh or the darkness.  We are in a deadly battle for our soul and for the souls around us. between God’s light and the enemy’s darkness. We need to be in earnest prayer for each other and the lost souls around us.  The Kingdom of God must become more real than the kingdoms of this world.

Yours in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><    www.Trinity-Aloha.org

FREEWILL

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

FREEWILL,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”   1/23/20,  (Across the internet today.)

Today’s Scripture
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path…”  (Psalm 119:105, NIV)

Step-by-Step
God has a detailed plan for your life. He knows your final destination and the best way to get you there, but God doesn’t show you the details. The Scripture says His Word is a lamp for your feet. A lamp implies you have enough light to see the life path in front of you, but not for the next fifty years. If you trust Him and take that next step into the unknown, not knowing the outcome, He’ll lead you step-by-step into your destiny.

The question is, will you be bold and take the next step that God gives you with the light you have? The unknown is where miracles happen, where you discover abilities you never knew you had, and where you’ll accomplish more than you ever dreamed. If you have the courage to do what you know He’s asking you to do, He has the provision, the favor, and all that you need to go to the next level.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that what lies ahead and is unknown to me is well known to You. I choose to rely on Your strength and Your Word that guides me step-by-step. I trust that You will go before me and take me to the next level. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts:
It is like a diamond in the rough, when created it has a vast potential.  But we have the rights through free will as to what it will be upon completion.  Each time we take a turn in the road that is away from the light, it chips the original stone a bit.  But if we give our stone to the Holy Spirit He will make the most beautiful stone possible from what HE has been given to work with.  In God’s infinite foreknowledge HE does know exactly where we will end up and what we will be looking like.   And those who have chosen HIS light HE has already fitted us precisely into HIS ultimate design.  But the key is to realize that we have the choices to make in light to be the most that is possible to be from where we start.  Love can not exist without free will.  God is LOVE so how can HE make us into HIS image and likeness unless we allow HIM to.

So in your choices each day, some reflect HIS light and some do not, the choices are yours to do as you please.  Your choices in light will be used by God to bring joy to you and to HIM both now and for Eternity.  But the choices in darkness will be chips off of your diamond and gone.  And if darkness has been your basic choice, you will be allowed to live eternally in the darkness.

Political response to a note on FaceBook today directed to me…. Felt to pass it along ???    His comment that got me started was that our Nation was a Secular Democracy……    Many have been taught that….

Actually, xxxxxxx, We began as a Christian Republic with a 1st Amendment of the new government to not regulate religion at all either one way or the other. In other words, the govt. was not to make any laws at all concerning religion. Many had come to this country for freedom of religion but not freedom from religion. The secular socialists humanist atheists have cornered much of our educational system now and in such a way to keep religion out of govt. and education.

Atheism is also considered a religion as is Islam and teachers should be able to openly discuss all knowledge in a class room from a truth point of view.   And our govt. leadership should be able to be open and transparent about their faith without persecution. Anti religious laws now seems to be blotting out most of the moral virtues in govt. Promises without fulfillment and lies without consequences seem the order of the day.   Most seem to be activated by the Greed of Power and Money. The Bible teaches this in a Prophesy by Apostle Paul in 2 Tim.3, about 2000 yrs. ago: His prophesy was that the darkness will get darker and the light will get lighter until the Creator removes the light and brings the darkness into judgment. The little book of Jude is also good on this subject. And I for one am very glad that we are not governed by a secular democracy or it would be a lot worse than it is now.

GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

GIFT’S OF THE HOLY SPIRIT,    “WORTH CONSIDERING” 1/22/20
(Received over my e-mail today.)

Today’s Scripture
“…Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha…”(2 Kings 6:17, NIV)

Surrounded by the Most High
Elisha’s assistant thought they were surrounded by the enemy army until the Lord opened his eyes. Suddenly, he looked out and saw the hills full of powerful, warring angels with their horses and chariots of fire. The enemy was surrounded by our God.

Like this man, you may be surrounded by trouble, but what you can’t see with your natural eyes is that the Most High God is surrounding what’s surrounding you. If God pulled back the curtain, you would see powerful angels at work on your behalf, protecting you, pushing back the forces of darkness. You would see God moving the wrong people out of the way, lining up things in your favor, arranging healings and deliverance. If you only focus on what you see with your physical eyes—the sickness, the addiction, the obstacle—you’ll be worried and discouraged. Through eyes of faith, you need to see that every obstacle that’s holding you back is surrounded by the Most High.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that no matter what trouble I face, I can stay in peace knowing that You are surrounding me, and You can turn every situation around and put an end to it. I declare that You are greater than any force that comes against me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts:
One day, not too long ago, I was getting some supplies for home/ministry/little farm. And as I was checking out I saw a bag of Cheetos and simply threw up a prayer, OK with you Lord? And got that feeling of a green light so took them along with me.  Once in my truck I opened the bag and started in on them, bag a little small for my hand but doable.  At the stop light at the main highway as my little access road out the back door of Lowe’s I hit a red light so got into the Cheetos.  Signal turned green, hand stuck in bag with the Cheetos.  So I glanced up, no one behind me so thought, “got a few seconds before I loose the green”so continued in getting out the Cheetos, Success and was beginning to punch it and go forward when saw a movement out of the side of my left eye and hit the breaks.  Stopped at the white line and a truck went whizzing on by at about 50mph just missing me.   He did not see the signal at all.  Except for that little OK on the Cheetos he would have plowed right into my side door with 3 tons or so going at 50 and I would probably not be writing to you today.  So don’t think that little things do not matter.  Our Creator God is in the little things as well as the big.  Little is much if God is in them.

Notice that the gifts of the Holy Spirit, 1 Cor.12:9-10 can be linked and dependent upon one another.  So the person with tongues may be needing some one to interpret or the gift of faith may need wisdom as also the gift of healing.  The supernatural is flowing can not be boxed by traditions.  It is always new wine in new wine skins.  And it is a gift that Christian can recive and give away and go back to the Holy Spirit for more.  Gifts do not make a ministry.  A ministry may be consistent in the use of certain Gifts of the Spirit.  But it is only the Holy Spirit who can validate a ministry.   The Body of Christ can be seen in all of the Glory of Christ when it is a true match for Christ in full loving humility and obedience to Christ.  Several scriptures that share this concept:

John 17:18-26:    Just as You commissioned and sent Me into the world, I also have commissioned and sent them (believers) into the world. 19 For their sake [a]I sanctify Myself [to do Your will], so that they also may be sanctified [set apart, dedicated, made holy] in [Your] truth.  20 “I do not pray for these alone [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for [all] those who [will ever] believe and trust in Me through their message, 21 that they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe [without any doubt] that You sent Me.  Their Future Glory   22 I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected and completed into one, so that the world may know [without any doubt] that You sent Me, and [that You] have loved them, just as You have loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given to Me [as Your gift to Me], may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.25 “O just and righteous Father, although the world has not known You and has never acknowledged You [and the revelation of Your mercy], yet I have always known You; and these [believers] know [without any doubt] that You sent Me; 26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them [overwhelming their heart], and I [may be] in them.”

Eph.4:11-16:   And [His gifts to the church were varied and] He Himself appointed some as apostles [special messengers, representatives], some as prophets [who speak a new message from God to the people], some as evangelists [who spread the good news of salvation], and some as pastors and teachers [to shepherd and guide and instruct], 12 [and He did this] to fully equip and perfect the saints (God’s people) for works of service, to build up the body of Christ [the church]; 13 until we all reach oneness in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, [growing spiritually] to become a mature believer, reaching to the measure of the fullness of Christ [manifesting His spiritual completeness and exercising our spiritual gifts in unity]. 14 So that we are no longer children [spiritually immature], tossed back and forth [like ships on a stormy sea] and carried about by every wind of [shifting] doctrine, by the cunning and trickery of [unscrupulous] men, by the deceitful scheming of people ready to do anything [for personal profit]. 15 But speaking the truth in love [in all things—both our speech and our lives expressing His truth], let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] who is the Head—Christ. 16 From Him the whole body [the church, in all its various parts], joined and knitted firmly together by what every joint supplies, when each part is working properly, causes the body to grow and mature, building itself up [a]in [unselfish] love.

DIRT

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS, Beloved of God,   John 3:16

DIRT,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”   1/21/17   (Across my desk today.)

Today’s Scripture
“The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!…”
(Matthew 13:23, NLT)   Check Your Soil

Jesus Taught:
Jesus told a parable about a man who sowed seed on good ground, and it flourished, producing great crops. But some of the seed fell on rocky ground, and lacking soil and deep roots, its plants withered. Other seed fell among the thorns, and its plants were choked from growing. All the seed was the same quality; what made the difference was the soil.

You are a seed. You are full of gifts, talents, and potential. But if you plant yourself in unhealthy soil, if you hang around friends who compromise and pull you down, if you’re in an environment with limited mindsets where people tell you how you’ll never accomplish your dreams, you won’t see the growth you should. It’s not because there’s something wrong with your seed. It’s that the thorns and rocks are choking the life out of your seed—your dreams, your vision, and your character. Do your part and keep your seed in good soil.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the gifts and potential You put in me. Help me protect what You’ve entrusted to me by being selective about my environment. I believe that as I stay in the good soil, I am going to see increase and new levels. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts,
In some parables we are one thing and in others another as Jesus seeks to tell us how things really are in the Kingdom of God that we have been lovingly asked to attend.  In John 12:24-26 we are a seed.  In Matt. 13:33 we are dirt (like in Adam.)  There have been books and books written on the subject like “Born To Reproduce.” by Dawson Trotman of the Navigators.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ_dVYTjLb0  This ministry had a great influence in my life at age 22.  And I am sure that many other ministries and lives were changed to make Jesus, LORD as the Holy Scriptures were considered through the Navagators.

As you get into the teachings of Christ Jesus you will find the truth and light that you have been looking for but this story shares 4 types of soil, stony, shallow, weedy and good.   With the first soil the seed is sown and stolen by the darkness of habit.  With the shallow, there is a beginning life but it dies due to lack of moisture and food.   And with the 3rd just too many weeds and dies and of course with the 4th, good soul, water, food and weed free it reproduces good fruit.   Only one produced fruit.

So from this story of Christ Jesus we understand that there is the possibility of 4 types of potential for the Kingdom of God.  One hears and does something else, One thinks about it for awhile and dies do to lack of commitment.  One gets really interested but still has a great love for the weeds of this world and also dies and misses the Kingdom.   So only one out of four soils causes life and produced any fruit.  In the plant and animal kingdoms reproduction is primary.  If when we become a Christian we don’t mature to reproducing in kind, we really don’t understand the message clearly or we still have too much love for the world.  Perhaps not everyone is called into ministry.  But it is the sheep who bare the lambs.  It is your personal witness where ever you are that turns the light on and those who live in darkness will notice.

In the Costco food court line today, small boy up front.  The Holy Spirit reminded me to make him a paper air plane out of the “Let There Be Light” tract that I have printed up.  Boy was fearful of strangers as he should be.  But the mother saw what I was doing and kindly took the tract glider into her care for him as he had never seen one before.  So that little seed went home with that family.  What next, in the Lord’s hands, HE is the LORD of the harvest.  And so the 65ish guy behind me made sort of a weedy joke remark and I gave him the tract and said let me tell you a story and it was a joke about a religious failure and started to give the tract back to me but then I remembered a joke of a religious failure,  there are many,  as well and so told it to him telling him that I agree with him and so he thought better of it and put my “Light” tract into his back pocket.  By then, up to the counter.  I have no idea what happened but I know that seeds were sown and planted and in that day before the LORD in giving accountability I suspect some of these seeds will have grown up in to great big trees also bearing fruit.  In faith I look forward to finding out what happened today and to all the other tracts that I have been planting for my LORD over the years.

Sure I have to dethrone fear, all kinds of fear.  Is it right to be intrusive?  Was Jesus intrusive, were the apostles intrusive….A BIG YES.  Could any thing keep them quiet from freely giving away the Gift of Life, NO!  If you found a place where they were giving away diamonds, one per person?   How many people would you try to persuade to go and get one?   The Truth that we know as a Christian is the how to of Eternal Life.   What kind of a value can you place on Eternal Life?  And sure some will not believe but so what, does that change the TRUTH or the value.

I know that this scripture was written to Ezekiel in 3:17 but then it could easily apply to us as well:
17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.  18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.  19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

POWER

POWER,   “WORTH CONSIDERING” 1/20/20, (From Joel’s ministry today.)

Today’s Scripture
“…Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk…”(Acts 3:6, NKJV)

Exceeded Expectations
The crippled beggar was expecting the ordinary from Peter, a few coins, but God showed up and exceeded his expectations. The man didn’t see it coming, but that one moment of favor, that one exceeded expectation changed his whole world. I can hear him saying, “I never dreamed I’d be able to walk or work or be this fulfilled!”  God has some of these “I never dreamed” blessings in store for you. Similar to the crippled man, sometimes we’ve struggled in an area for so long that we’ve gotten comfortable with it. We’re expecting a few coins, something to sustain us, but God is about to do a new thing. You’re believing for the ordinary; God is going to the extraordinary. He’s going to take you where you’ve never been. No more coins, no more dysfunction, no more being stuck in your career. You’re about to come into exceeded expectations. So why don’t you put your faith out there?

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for loving me and having such an amazing plan for my life. Help me to expect the “I never dreamed” blessings You have for me. I believe and declare that You are doing exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask or think. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Comments,
Jesus came and found me in 1955 through the Navigators, it was a precious time.  But then I got into a little box church with just enough flow of the Spirit to stay alive but not much else.  In 1968 the Holy Spirit sent a house painter into my life that opened up the scriptures on the power of God for us today and over the next 6 month I experienced a powerful new level of power in the Holy Spirit.  It was like being in a flood of warm comfortable water going into a land that I had never seen before.  I was still going through changes in being Sanctified but for the first time I experienced some of supernatural power of the Holy Spirit in a Hippie ministry.  For the most part the youth known as Hippies were very transparent and were mostly a spiritual vacuum.  So when they heard the simple message directly from the Word of God without traditions they acted on it and it became real.  And as a result of that honesty and humility many were healed and delivered and called into ministry.  Today is it difficult to lay aside old traditions and become as children again but only as children are we able to experience the Kingdom of God on earth.  The power of the Kingdom is released by God through loving unity with humility and obedience to the commandments of Christ Jesus.

Until we are willing to lay aside our traditions as Christ Jesus taught and become as little children in loving John 17 unity in humility and obedience to Christ Jesus as Lord not much is going to happen in the supernatural.  Paul taught Timothy about that church of today in prophesy in his letters to Timothy.  Which I will include as otherwise few will bother to read it.

3 But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear]. 2 For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, 3 [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, 4 traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people and keep far away from them. 6 For among them are those who worm their way into homes and captivate morally weak and spiritually-dwarfed women weighed down by [the burden of their] sins, easily swayed by various impulses, 7 always learning and listening to anybody who will teach them, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres [the court magicians of Egypt] opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, unqualified and worthless [as teachers] in regard to the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their meaningless nonsense and ignorance will become obvious to everyone, as was that of Jannes and Jambres.

10 Now you have diligently followed [my example, that is] my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness, 11 persecutions, and sufferings—such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, but the Lord rescued me from them all! 12 Indeed, all who delight in pursuing righteousness and are determined to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be hunted and persecuted [because of their faith]. 13 But evil men and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced [holding tightly to the truths], knowing from whom you learned them, 15 and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings (Hebrew Scriptures) which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus [surrendering your entire self to Him and having absolute confidence in His wisdom, power and goodness]. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the [a]man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

BLESSINGS

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,    John 3:16

BLESSINGS,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”
1/17/20,    (Over my desk from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“…Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light…”(James 1:17, MSG)
Be on the Lookout

Just like the sun radiates heat, God radiates goodness. It’s not just what He does; it’s who He is. God’s very nature is good. It’s important that we recognize that every good gift comes to us from our Father in heaven, both large and small.

You need to be on the lookout for God’s goodness. Too many times, God is working in our lives, showing us favor, protecting us, sending us healing, but we don’t recognize His goodness. When something good happens, make sure you give Him the credit and thank Him for it. The question is, are you recognizing it? Look around today. Be more aware. Psalm 34:8 says, “Taste and see that the LORD is good.” If you’re going to taste God’s goodness, you have to realize that every good break, every time you were protected, every door that opened, and every advantage you’ve gotten has been God working in your life. Don’t take it for granted.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are constantly working, constantly showing me Your goodness with every good gift that comes into my life. I want to live today with an attitude of thankfulness and gratefulness. I will not take Your goodness for granted. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts,
We all love Blessings & Gifts and especially from our Creator.   The problem is that we tend to forget that obedience is blessed and dis-obedience is not.   So how much do we know of what our Creator wants of us?    I picked up a hitch hiker yesterday on the way to town,  he was broke and hungry.  We talked a lot about how to know the voice of God.   So I worked into my schedule to take him with me to Costco and share a pizza,  and get gas and then back to town and later back to his space on a farm.   I ate a piece and gave him the rest and we had a good talk about the LORD.   He talked like a Christian the whole way so invited him to the Bible Fellowship Friday night…Even had a ride set up for him but no show.   Made like he was very interested.  But I wonder how many know how to speak Jesus talk without the walk   We enjoyed good food and fellowship at our Friday gathering but he was not there,  perhaps another time.  But even in my own life it is difficult to have my walk and talk be the same.  There are times when being a Christian is not really socially acceptable.  We tend to hid HIS light so to be better received by the world.  But if we do the light tends to dim a little.  So it seems to me that if we really want God’s Blessings that they will flow through our humility and obedience.  And of course if we don’t know the will of God, how then can we obey.  So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.  So God’s Blessings are tied together with HIS Commandments as found in the New Testament.  Jesus taught us that if we found HIS commandments and kept them that we would be honored by our Heavenly Father.  Is this not totally logical?   Is this not what we do with our own children.  Our Creator has taken the time to have HIS desires for us written down and collected in a New Testament or “WILL.”   How do you think it makes HIM feel when we read and obey HIS best for us?   And if we don’t?

TRUTH

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

TRUTH,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”   1/16/20,   (Across my desk this morning from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“So then, take your stand! Fasten truth around your waist like a belt. Put on God’s approval as your breastplate…”
(Ephesians 6:14, GW)
Live Approved

Every morning when you get up, you need to put on God’s approval as your breastplate and say, “Father, thank You that You are pleased with me.” You have to put it on. It’s not going to happen automatically. Thoughts will try to convince you that you don’t deserve God’s blessing, and you’ll start feeling condemned, unworthy, and not expect anything good. You have to put on God’s approval to protect your heart.

Something powerful happens when you say, “I like who I am. I have some faults and failures, but I’m changing and growing. Since God approves me, I approve myself.” When you put on the breastplate of God’s approval, chains of guilt, chains of inferiority, chains of low self-esteem are broken in the unseen realm, and God’s favor is released. God is going to keep making and molding you, and you’re going to break free from things that are holding you back and become everything He’s created you to be.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I can put on the breastplate of Your approval to cover my heart because You have made me righteous through Christ Jesus. Thank You that I can feel good about who I am. I believe that You are pleased with me today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Ken’s Thoughts,
TRUTH is an interesting word, it conveys the concept of absolute.   Truth is mentioned 224 times in the King James Bible.  John alone mentioned it 40 times.  In the Psalms it is mentioned 41 times.  David wrote:  Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Ps.25:5  &  All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. Ps.25:10 &  I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. Ps.40:10.  &  O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Ps.43:3. Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Ps. 86:11.  This is a profound study through the Psalms that is worth the effort on BibleGateway.com and easy to do.

In John the first thing that he writes:

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.  Jn:1:14-17.   Pilate was recorded as saying this:”What is Truth?” in John 18:38 after Jesus had told him:  “Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” Jn.18:37….

So we have two words of great meaning for us  Truth & Hypocrisy (To Lie or act).  So how much of our life is really in Christ Jesus in HIS TRUTH and how much is a lie and hypocrisy or acting… In the resurrection all lies shall be exposed.  In fact in the Revelation liars don’t make it into the Kingdom of God.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”  Rev.22:13-15.  So either our lies are forgiven through repentance and the blood of Christ Jesus or we are still living them and they are yet to be openly judged.  A lot of our hypocrisy comes though fear.  Fear that if we really told the Truth we would not be liked and would be rejected.  And that could be very true but it still does not make a lie acceptable to God.  Check out how Jesus feels about lies/hypocrisy in Matt.23.  As Christians we have the fullness of TRUTH in Christ Jesus,  so what are we doing with it?  Is HIS TRUTH the core of our being or are we still sliding around the corners and sweeping stuff under the carpet?  The process of changing to become in the image of Christ Jesus is call Sanctification.  If you are a Christian, this should be a work of the Holy Spirit in progress.  And if you are on your “growing edge” your life is approved and blessed of GOD.

LIGHT OF GOD

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

LIGHT OF GOD,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”    1/15/20,   (Across my desk this morning from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“When darkness overtakes him, light will come bursting in…”    (Psalm 112:4, TLB)
Light Comes Bursting In

We know that God is always with us, but the psalmist says that in times of difficulty, God is very present. You’ll never see the fullness of who God is if you’re in the light all the time. It’s in the storms, in the difficulties that God is most present. When you don’t see a way out and it’s dark, you’re in prime position for God’s light to come bursting in. It’s going to happen suddenly—a burst of favor, of healing, of strength. You didn’t see it coming. One moment you were struggling with debt, and suddenly—one contract, one promotion, one good break—you have more than enough. What happened? The light came bursting in. The God who is a very present help in trouble said, “Your night season was only temporary. It’s time for your breakthrough. Now it’s time to propel you forward.” God is about to do that for you.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that in times of trouble when I don’t see the way out and it’s dark, that You come bursting in with light and direction. I believe that You, the Creator of the universe, have highly favored me and are about to propel me forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts:
In the New Testament light is mentioned about 94 times and in the Old 215.  So the concern of God is to bring us into HIS light.  Darkness is also mentioned 142 times with concern that we know the difference and stay away from it.   I once had a dream/vision? of being in a pitch black room so dark that nothing could be seen.  Christ Jesus came in through a black door on my right and walked through the black room in all of HIS brightness and made a bright white door in the left end of the room and left.  Lucifer came right behind him with pastel colors painting the room with different colors:  Like green for greed, pink for passion, yellow for money or pride and so on till the whole room was a rainbow of colors and left using the black door still the same.  So now as a soul goes into the room there is only really two doors in and out but lots of colors to choose from that go no where.  Not that the colors themselves were evil but could become an obsession.  Of course white light is made of three primary colors violet, yellow and red.   And they seem to match the ministry of Christ Jesus as Priest, King and Savior.   So if we walk in the light and He is in the light we have fellowship with each other and HE keeps us clean from all sin.

So in your daily walk consider that Christ Jesus is your priest between you and the Heavenly Father,  your LORD or boss and the one who saved you from GOD’s judgment for your sins.   If we walk in the light we can make HES ministry a lot easier.   And the world is totally headed for the darkness and WRATH of God,  you really don’t want to go there.  So do get fearful about it.  But do try to help others find there way to HIS Light.  There is plenty of room for anyone interested.  So stay in the Word of God and strengthen your faith to become like Jesus.  This is the original vision of God in that HE has made the way for us to become in HIS IMAGE and LIKENESS and be HIS forever family.

GOD’S POWER

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS, Beloved of God,   Heb.11

GOD’S  POWER,  ” WORTH CONSIDERING”  1/14/20,   (Across my desk today from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“…Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me…”  (2 Corinthians 12:9, NLT)
The Real You

We live in a society that stresses image. It’s easy to go through life trying to impress people, to show them that we’re strong, that we have it all together. It’s good to carry ourselves with confidence, but sometimes we have such a need to keep up our image that we put on a mask and start pretending. We can’t let someone see that we have weaknesses, that we’re struggling in areas, and we don’t have all the answers. But the Scripture says that if we go around wearing masks, God’s power is not going to show up. God won’t bless the ideal you, the pretend you, the future you; He’s looking for the real you.

Remember that there’s power in vulnerability. When you empty yourself out, God can fill you. But if you’re full of yourself—acting, pretending, keeping up your image—there’s no room for God. If you’ll humble yourself and get real, God will help you to grow.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I don’t have to hide my weaknesses or mask my shortcomings. Thank You that Your power goes to work in me when I get real and honest. I humbly admit that I don’t have it all together, but I’m glad You’re still working on me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts,
My does this put our pride in the garbage can.  Admit my weaknesses so I can walk in the power of God???   What a paradox.  Just like John writes, you have to die to this world to be accepted in the next,  John 12:24-26.  That if you friends with the world then you are an enemy with God.  For all that is in the world shall parish but he that does the will of GOD will abide forever.  Hypocrisy is the key word here. which means to be an actor.  The act of pretending to be something that you are not.  Before honor is humility.  God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.  And it works both ways.  Today I was bringing home a box springs for a full bed,   Heading home and it started really clouding over as far as I could see down the coast and sprinkling.   So I rebuked the rain but drove back to Home Depot for a tarp and parked in the covered loading area.   Bought the tarp,  got it all tied down nicely for the 20 miles to Kealia through Hohaunau (place of the rains)  and not one drop of rain all the way home.   So it is really difficult for me to get all of the other voices on hold so to only hear the Word of God but even then I step away and wonder,  was that really God or just me talking to myself.   So this area of walking in power does take some practice in humility in finding the real me and then the real HIM.

Much of what we do that seems right to us does not pass the “good” filter of the Holy Spirit and has Pride or Fear or Lust in it so it is good to check the reason for the reason.  Many times, because we want to be liked, we say things out of fear to maintain a friendship or to keep some one from being angry with us.  It is called appeasement and it only makes a bully grow stronger, or the pride grow larger or the lust perhaps less noticeable.but more pronounced.  Paul wrote about in his letter to the church at Corinth:

For while Jews [demandingly] ask for signs and miracles and Greeks pursue philosophy and wisdom,23 We preach Christ (the Messiah) crucified, [preaching which] to the Jews is a scandal and an offensive stumbling block [that springs a snare or trap], and to the Gentiles it is absurd and utterly unphilosophical nonsense.24 But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile), Christ [is] the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.25 [This is] because the foolish thing [that has its source in] God is wiser than men, and the weak thing [that springs] from God is stronger than men.26 For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth.27 [No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.28 And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,29 So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God.30 But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].31 So then, as it is written, Let him who boasts and proudly rejoices and glories, boast and proudly rejoice and glory in the Lord.  1 Cor.1:22-31
