VISIONS

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

VISIONS,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”   1/27/20        (Note across my desk today from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“For still the vision awaits its appointed time…If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay…”  (Habakkuk 2:3, ESV)

Right on Time
None of us like to go through waiting periods, but we all have things we’re waiting on—a dream to come to pass, our health to improve, to meet the right person. We know God put the promise in our heart, but we wonder why it’s taking so long to happen. The Scripture says there’s an appointed time, which means any other time is the wrong time. If you don’t understand that God will always be right on time, the waiting periods will cause you to be frustrated. But you can only receive the promise within God’s timing. He knows when you’re ready, when to open the door, when to turn it around. If it’s not happening yet, be mature enough to say with David, “God, my times are in Your hands.”  Now do your part and trust Him. Wait for the God who created the universe to unfold His plan for your life.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You know what I need and have an appointed time set to get it to me. I choose to stop stressing out over what I don’t have, knowing it will be here down to the very second of when I really need it. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts,
With Christ Jesus, His vision was perfect and of the Holy Spirit and what HE prayed for in John 17, I am sure will come to pass as in the Divine plan of creating HIS Heavenly Family.   But with us as the children of Adam being drawn by the Holy Spirit to become the children of God there is an intense battle and the lusts of the flesh, lusts of the flesh and pride of life can try to take God’s Glory and use it for our earthly glory.  Especially in Church Leadership I have seen many that were working on building their own ivory towers rather than GOD’S Kingdom.  So I am not sure that as even a young Christian seeking to grow into a Holy Man that the path is without pot holes.  Personally, in my ministry from 1968, I have been tripped up on not a few.  It is a real challenge to walk in humility and obedience when all around you think that you are God’s man of the hour  & power.  That is the reason that the Holy Spirit set up the Eldership of the Church of Christ Jesus with level authority to be guided by each other and the Holy Spirit.   And then ordained deacons to take care of the financial needs as per the direction of the Holy Spirit through the Elders.

Personally I have not seen this structure in existence from the 1st Century in Acts 15.  And the church has been faltering and dividing from that time on.  So we have a tendency to hurry and make decisions that are not of the Holy Spirit and then blame GOD when it does not work.   The Holy Spirit gave a prophetical example of how to come into the presence of God in the Old Testament Tabernacle of Moses and with the fulfilling of it in the New Testament in Acts 2:41-47 and 5:15.   I have not seen this come to pass in my life time.   So vain traditions can take us away from the Kingdom and the Power of God.  So if we make our vain traditions our comfort zone we will never see Eph. 4:11-16 come to pass in seeing the LORD among us doing exactly what he did on earth in the Gospels.

So make sure that your vision is of the Holy Spirit before you get 100% behind it as if it is not of the Holy Spirit you will be disappointed and probably blame God for your train wreck.

We have many “Good Christian Traditions Today” which did not come from God, the Holy Spirit, Jesus or the Bible.   If I were to go through them on a piece of paper you would just toss the note and that would be the end of it.  Never the less, to do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome is one of the definitions of insanity.   And yet we do this and get totally bored in the process.  We then start church hopping or just stay home and do something more profitable or enjoyable and cost less money.

I will leave you with two sacred cows to deal with in our traditional “church.”.   Tithing is not once commanded in the New Testament.   It is an Old Testament principle.  In the New Testament God is requesting that we put 100% of who we are and what we have been given to be under HIS direction.  It is a total sell out and not just 10% as in the Old Testament.  But it is between HIM and US and no one else.

Luke 6:38 [Full Chapter]
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”

2 Corinthians 9:7   Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
