WELCOME HOME
WELCOME HOME, “WORTH CONSIDERING” 7/30/19, (In my mailbox today.)
Today’s Scripture
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”(Psalm 100:4, NKJV)
Enter with This
What an amazing privilege we have to enter boldly into God’s presence. Scripture says that we can come to His throne of grace and receive His mercy. Because He loves us, He has given us unlimited access to Himself 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. But notice that today’s verse tells us that we shouldn’t just come any old way to God. We shouldn’t come empty-handed to the King of kings and the Lord of lords. What can we bring? What do we have that’s worthy of Almighty God? Our praise. Our thanksgiving. Our worship. We are to enter His gates with an offering from our hearts of adoration because He is worthy!
Praise isn’t just about singing songs on Sunday mornings. Praise is the expression of gratefulness to Father God for Who He is and all that He has done. Praise gets God’s attention. Praise is a powerful tool in the life of the believer because God inhabits our praises! When we enter His presence the right way, He enters our circumstances; and when God shows up, the enemy must flee! Today, enter into His gates with thanksgiving and open the door for Him to move on your behalf!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, I come to You today with thanksgiving in my heart. I enter into Your courts with praise. Today I declare that You are good, and Your mercy endures forever! Have Your way in me by the power of Your Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
My Thoughts:
“Welcome Home” Really nice to see that on the door mat at the front door where you have friends and relatives. When in Japan in the 1950.s I felt that way with a family that sort of took me ( I was 18) in when I had leave while in the Army of Occupation. Of course, in Japan there is a custom, that when you go to someones home you always bless the house with a simple gift of some kind. That you never go empty handed. In Yamagata it was my home away from home. And in a way, we, on earth are not yet home. And when we do graduate, what will we take with us to share in our new home in heaven. In 1955 I was saved on the verses in 1 Cor.3:11-16 in consideration of this subject and foundations. Might be wise to check them out.
Jesus had much to teach HIS disciples about the Welcome Home Mat. “If [the family living in] the house is worthy [welcoming you and your message], give it your [blessing of] [a]peace [that is, a blessing of well-being and prosperity, the favor of God]. But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing of peace. 14 Whoever does not welcome you, nor listen to your message, as you leave that house or city, [b]shake the dust [of it] off your feet [in contempt, breaking all ties]. 15 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of [c]Sodom and Gomorrah than for that city [since it rejected the Messiah’s messenger]. Matt.10:13-15. This teaching is also mentioned in Luke 9:5 & 10:11, Acts 13:51 so an interesting subject. So it appears that we are to take the Gospel of Christ Jesus with us as a gift from God where ever we go. And if any do not receive that gift, to shake the dust from our feet and keep on trucking.
It seems that if we can not take Jesus along with us where ever we go that the place should also not become our comfort zone. We tend to become like the folks that we associate with. So HOME SWEET HOME should be deeply embedded in our hearts to be where our Heavenly Father is. And of course, we are reminded 5 times in the New Testament that a Prophet is not without honor except in HIS hometown and among his relatives, do it is rare if you are living for Jesus and are also totally comfortable at home. And, I do remember my 1st home very well where I was born. But later I went back and it had burned down and another house built on the foundation. Just not the same. Nothing on this earth will remain the same. Families get old and die off, new building become old with rusty roofs and leaks.
So try to get it into your heart that we are born here on earth to get potty trained to ber able to live with God. That the world is temporary but that our soul is eternal. And none of this world can we take with us except what we decide to send ahead. So look for your WELCOME HOME Mat to be in HEAVEN with our Creator… And not down here. This world is only a very smelly gym where people are. If it does not kill you, it will make you stronger.
Yours in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy, Ken<>< www.Trinity-Aloha.org
