.Today’s Scripture (From a church in Texas that I felt to pass along.)
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
(Isaiah 26:3, ESV)
Where Peace Is Found
When you go through disappointments and face closed doors, you’ll be tempted to put self-pity and discouragement on the throne. Don’t fall into that trap. Keep God on the throne. He is saying, “If you keep Me on the throne, if you say no to the worry, no to the fear, and no to the offense, you’ll live a peaceful, blessed life.” Keep your mind stayed on Him, pass that test, and you’ll come into favor, blessing, healing, and promotion. And be aware every morning that something is going to try to get back on the throne. You don’t take it down once and you’re done. You have to keep it off. All through the day, worry and self-pity and other negative attitudes will try to creep back on the throne. There’s always something trying to get on the throne.
What’s on your throne? I wonder how much higher we would go, how much more we’d enjoy life, if we kept God on the throne.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are my Savior, my Lord, my provider, my healer, and my deliverer. Thank You for being on my throne, and my health, my finances, my family, and my circumstances are all in the palms of Your hands. I will keep my mind stayed on You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 2 Cor
Peace & Jesus go hand in hand. After all, HE is the Prince of Peace. The more of us we submit to Jesus as LORD the more Peace we experience. The more of Adam we submit to, the less Peace we enjoy. Jesus teaches us not to be concerned and to forget about the past,, HE has it covered. And Jesus also teaches us not to be concerned about tomorrow that HE will take care of us as we love and submit to HIM. But I can count on one hand the number of people in my experience that were really walking in that PEACE of GOD everyday due to traditions. We are taught in the Bible to become like Jesus but we are taught in our schools, homes and churches that some of Adam is expected and OK. In sharing on Holiness I have had folks challenge me with, “Who do you think I am, Jesus Christ.” Actually I was only sharing about my efforts to walk in God’s Grace and live by the teaching of Jesus and HIS Apostles in faith. And actually still working on it. It is so easy to say something stupid or to be self centered especially when a conversation is moving briskly along. Or that emotions are high about some issue and we end up in a pile thinking, “WELL!!! What about ME!!! Don’t I count, and pride destroys everything.
“Now large crowds were going along with Jesus; and He turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to Me, and does not [a] hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God]—he cannot be My disciple. 27 Whoever does not carry his own cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow after Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me] cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:25-27. Hate in 1611 was use more to consider preferential love. In other words, If we are a Christian we love HIM and HIS WORD above all else. And HE really means to conform to HIS example in loving others through HIM. Being conformed to Jesus would mean not to be comfortable with anyone not knowing the truth and spending eternity in blackness of darkness for ever. Yesterday at our resurrection dinner not one soul had anything to say concerning the Resurrection.
“… and [as to His divine nature] according to the Spirit of holiness was openly designated to be the Son of God with power [in a triumphant and miraculous way] by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 It is through Him that we have received grace and [our] apostleship to promote obedience to the faith and make disciples for His name’s sake among all the Gentiles, 6 and you also are among those who are called of Jesus Christ to belong to Him;” Rom, 1:4-6 So we are called into obedience through faith if we belong to HIM. How are you doing in your classes in obedience. Do you even know what HE wants you to be and do? If you are blessed to live in the Kingdom of God for eternity, how much have you sent ahead with which to Honor the LORD?
