FORGETTING PAST

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,  John 3:16

FORGETTING PAST,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”   7/9/19    (Across my desk this morning and exceptional.)

Today’s Scripture
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before…”    Phil. 3:13

Open the Door to Blessing
We all go through disappointments, setbacks and things that we don’t understand. Maybe you prayed for a loved one, but they didn’t get well. Or maybe you worked hard for a promotion, but you didn’t get it. You stood in faith for a relationship, but it didn’t work out. One of the best things you can do is release it. Let it go. Don’t dwell on it anymore. If you go around wondering why things didn’t work out, all that’s going to do is lead to bitterness, resentment and self-pity. Before long, you’ll be blaming others, blaming yourself or even blaming God. You may not have understood what happened. It may not have been fair. But when you release it, it’s an act of your faith. You’re saying, “God, I trust You. I know You’re in control. And even though it didn’t work out my way, You said, ‘All things are going to work together for my good.’ So I believe You still have something good in my future.”  There is power in letting go of the past and the frustration of trying to figure everything out. When you release your questions, you are saying, “God, You are in control. I trust You.” And when you put your hope in God, that’s when He can heal your heart and lead you forward into His path of blessing.

A Prayer for Today
“Father God, I come to you in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Help me to forgive and release the past. Heal my heart and restore my soul. Show me the good plan You have for my future as I keep my mind stayed on You in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
This is very powerful, think about it, what can anyone do to change the past?  And yet if allowed, the fear and pain of the past can easily destroy our dreams and future.   Making a big brain rut in our head out of the past can crowd out the potential good of any future.  Talking stink can only take up precious time that could be helpful to myself and others in considering the good things of life to do.  So if we need to repent, and it is necessary, 1 John 1:9,  and receive God’s forgiveness in GRACE, pick up what is left of our day’s on earth and forge ahead with the life we have been blessed to have.  After all there is much to learn from both the bad and good in the light of GOD.  Nothing is ever wasted in the Kingdom of God.  But learning by rebellion, pride and experience can be very painful.  While learning by faith can be very joyful.  The Word of God is written so that we can make our way more focused and direct and be less painful in our learning of how to use our free will in support of GOD’s Kingdom rather than against.  How can God fill our cup with HIS blessings if it is already full of our past junk and worse?

2 Tim.3:16-17,

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Acts 17:11,
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Psalms 119:11-17,
10
With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.12 Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.17 Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.

God has a vision that HE is working on and has invited us to become a unique member of HIS eternal family.  That is , if we will allow HIM to help us make the jump to light speed and quit destroying things.  He has given us free will to be able to learn to love HIM, ourselves and each other and to from the heart submit to HIS authority.  But we can use the same free will to be self centered and choose the outer darkness.

Yours in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><  www.Trinity-Aloha.org
