FIRE

“FIRE” “WORTH CONSIDERING” 5/3/21

Aloha Saints, Family & Friends, Beloved of Jesus and me, Ken<><

Seems my life lately has been getting cluttered with stuff lately. A home in Kealia to complete. A lot down the street 7 doors to clean up and make into a youth outreach ministry. Thinking of calling it the FireHouse as a home burned down there 5 years ago and the LORD is wanting us to be filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit. So lets do a little study together on Holy Spirit Fire today. 1st we tend to think of fire as destructive but actually the basic elements are not destroyed only changed back into basic building blocks that can be used again and again. In the amplified Bible FIRE is mentioned 527 times and 78 in the New Testament. One of the places in the N.T. that gets my attention is Heb. 12:25: “ See to it that you do not refuse [to listen to] Him who is speaking [to you now]. For if those [sons of Israel] did not escape when they refused [to listen to] him who warned them on earth [revealing God’s will], how much less will we escape if we turn our backs on Him who warns from heaven? 26 His voice shook the earth [at Mount Sinai] then, but now He has given a promise, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the [starry] heaven.” 27 Now this [expression], “Yet once more,” indicates the removal and final transformation of all those things which can be shaken—that is, of that which has been created—so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, and offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship with reverence and awe; 29 for our God is [indeed] a consuming fire.

So, if we are being trained to be like HIM, Gen 1:26 there are some big changes ahead for us. Of course God also created in us a FreeWill so we can decide, (IF) we don’t want it. Jude writes about this. “ 13. … wandering stars (suns), to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. So for me, I really don’t want to go there. So what do I need to do to change to grow into that LIGHT/FIRE of God to be like Jesus?

2 Peter 3:10-11 gives us a prophesy concerning the big change ahead. “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish with a [mighty and thunderous] roar, and the [material] elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and the works that are on it will be [a] burned up. 11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be [in the meantime] in holy behavior [that is, in a pattern of daily life that sets you apart as a believer] and in godliness [displaying profound reverence toward our awesome God], Also in Matt. 24-25.

So for us, it starts out in Ezek 28:18 (Prophesy concerning lucifer:) “You profaned your sanctuaries. By the great quantity of your sins and the enormity of your guilt, By the unrighteousness of your trade. Therefore I have brought forth a fire from your midst; It has consumed you, And I have reduced you to ashes on the earth. In the sight of all who look at you.” So guess what: We are being trained to be that fire in Christ Jesus, Heb. 1:6-7: And when He again brings the firstborn [highest-ranking Son] into the world, He says, “And all the angels of God are to worship Him.” 7 And concerning the angels He says, “Who makes His angels winds, And His ministering servants flames of fire [to do His bidding].” Jesus also shared about this in Luke 3:15-17: “Now the people were in a state of expectation, and all were wondering in their hearts about John, as to whether he was the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed). 16 John answered them all by saying, “As for me, I baptize you [only] [a] with water; but One who is mightier [more powerful, more noble] than I is coming, and I am not fit to untie the strap of His sandals [even as His slave]. He will baptize you [who truly repent] with the Holy Spirit and [you who remain unrepentant] with [b] fire. 17 His [c] winnowing fork is in His hand to thoroughly clear His threshing floor, and to gather the wheat (believers) into His barn (kingdom); but He will burn up the chaff (the unrepentant) with unquenchable fire.” This study only scratches the surface of this great truth. Really not preached much any more?????

There is but ONE church of Christ Jesus, all who trust, love & obey are members.

I Have not been sending along the Worthy Brief much lately, too depressing. Sadly our national heritage of freedom is being quickly eroded away in a great quest for power. As a nation we have elected many into office that are there due to their own quest for power.

But George did send along this following statement concerning faith. “Take a leap of faith!”
Luke 17:5-6 And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

The African Impala (an African antelope) are amazing creatures that can jump to a height of over 10 feet and cover a distance greater than 30 feet. Yet Impalas can be kept in a zoo inside an enclosure with a simple 3-foot wall. Why? Impalas will not jump if they can’t see where their feet will land. Do we have something in common with these antelopes? Able to take great leaps of faith, but refusing to do it unless we can see where we’ll land? George Mueller said of faith, “Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where man’s power ends.” In Biblical terms: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” True faith cannot see how the landing will occur…it simply leaps under the conviction that it WILL occur. Remember, Biblical faith begins where our power ends! Your family in the Lord with much agape love, George Baltimore, Worthy Brief <worthybrief@worthynetwork.com>
