ETERNAL   LIFE      “WORTH CONSIDERING”    1/18/22    From Ken Smith<><

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.  2 Tim.4:2-4.    “Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.”  1 Tim.1:4.    “But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain (full of pride and vanity).  Titus 3:9

AMP:   But avoid foolish and ill-informed and stupid controversies and genealogies and dissensions and quarrels about the Law, for they are unprofitable and useless.

I can only see a big Pride Factor in being concerned about what folks did or did not do either now or in the past.   Jesus totally leveled the playing field so we all have the same playing field as anyone else.  The Heavenly Father has no grandchildren,  only children.  We have all been invited to become HIS children but most have declined HIS invitation.  Jesus commissioned us to share the Truth that HE gave us to everyone we meet.  Matt.28:19-20.  And Jesus prayed for us to do this in John 17:20-26.

I have no idea, even, as to whom in my living family who are really Biblically Saved and part of the elect of God as I search the Holy Scriptures on the subject.     It is an obedient walk before and in Jesus as LORD in loving humility that seals our salvation and it is not about learning to talk the talk when convenient.  There is the “Social Gospel” and the “Biblical Gospel.   But only the Biblical Gospel really works….  It is the only one that really gets us truly saved and into the Kingdom of God.

We have grown up with a lot of vain traditions and false doctrines all around us.  I was first taught that all I needed to do was make Jesus my savior, confess my sins to HIM and I was good to go.  I tried that at 16 and the kids called me “deacon” as a Jr. in high-school because I was trying to get everyone saved.  But I had no mentoring in the faith to grow up in the faith and learn to make Jesus my LORD, “shallow soil.”  So that lasted about 9 months then I ended up in a foster home and then back to North Hollywood for my Sr. year and barely graduated.  Then off to the Army in Sept. 1950 for the Korean War.   After a year in North Hollywood, The Army, and then to College I was an atheist.  I really did not believe anyone was “UP THERE” and if they were they were asleep at the switch.  But then at age 22 I ran into the Biblical living Jesus in a boy of 19, Floyd,  and could not talk myself out of what I had experienced.   I had been to the mountain and found the burning bush and had to take my shoes off.  It has been a rocky road (WAY) as was called in the Early Church.  But even if it were a totally self inflected delusion I have had a much better life than ever possible the way I was headed before I really found Jesus and HE found me.

Today’s Scripture:    Because you got a double dose of trouble and more than your share of contempt, your inheritance in the land will be doubled and your joy go on forever.  Isaiah 61:7, MSG   ( A blog from a church in Texas.)

So you may be in a challenging time that has left you feeling beat up, worn and tired. It feels as though something’s been taken out of you that can’t be replaced. You’ve lost the spring in your step. Get ready, for God is about to breathe new life into your spirit. He’s going to renew your strength and renew your youth like an eagle’s. What that challenge took out, God is about to put back in—health, vitality, freshness, passion. He’s going to bring new opportunities, good breaks, the right people, and favor that catapults you ahead. He’s not going to just bring you out. He’s going to bring you out with double. When you come into double, nobody will know that business partner cheated you, nobody will know you had an unfair childhood, nobody will know you went through that illness. You’re going to be so blessed, so healthy, so strong, so favored that nobody will know what you’ve been through. That’s the way God restores. He’s going to bring you out better.

Ken’s Comments.    Several times in my life experience, I have lost almost everything that I had of value like in 1968 and 1979 and 1991 and perhaps even some of it now in 2022?   But you know what, with each loss, the Holy Spirit has more than restored what was lost in time.  Even in this moment I am confronted with either agreeing with my adversary or to go to court and throw mud.  I must make a decision.  So be in prayer for me that I make the right decision.  I am looking at the scriptures in 1 Cor. 6:7, “Why, the very fact that you have lawsuits with one another is already a defeat. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?”  And   “Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.” Matthew 5:25….    Not that I am concerned about the Prison part.  But the concept of 2 Christians fighting in public before the world in a world court always hurts the cause of Christ in HIS quest to save the lost.  About that, I am concerned.   But I have been forced into a divorce court in order to try to keep my Family Estate together if I can?  Divorce is sin, but like most sin, but one, can be forgiven.  It is not unpardonable.  1 John 1:9… But the fall out or sowing and reaping is never good.  But how can two walk together unless they be agreed and a house divided can not stand.   Seems there are 3 factors that can Biblically break the marriage vows,   Death,   Adultery and Abandonment (1 Cor.7:15.)   The Bible is full of scripture concerning the Husband’s and the Wife’s Responsibilities.   So not a matter of choice but of humility and obedience.   We are here on earth to learn God’s Truth in Humility and Obedience.   If we make friends with the world, we are lost.   If we make friends with the Holy Spirit in Light we will eventually grow up in God’s Light an enjoy HIS eternal family in light.  But for now,  we are in a spiritual school, a temporary dimension of time,  for a short season to learn to live by faith in loving obedience and humility.  Anything that keeps us from passing this course is not of GOD.
