VAIN IMAGINATIONS “WORTH CONSIDERING” 2/28/22 From Ken Smith<><

The word vain if often overlooked when reading the Bible, it is an important word for us as we grow up in a world full of vanity and are so use to it that it is normal for use to be vain and to not even to know it. So in my determination to continue to only seek God’s Truth so that we can enjoy the Book of Acts coming alive again, please stay with me in this.

Oxford Dictionary:
vain /vān/ adjective 1. having or showing an excessively high opinion of one’s appearance, abilities, or worth. “their flattery made him vain” Similar: conceited , narcissistic, self-loving, in love with oneself, self-admiring, self-regarding, wrapped up in oneself, self-absorbed, self-obsessed self-centered, egotistic,. egotistical, egoistic , egocentric, egomania. proud haughty, arrogant, boastful, swaggering, imperious, overweening, cocky, affected vainglorious, peacockish, think too highly of oneself, think a lot of oneself. (Vanity is produced by pride.)

Opposite: modest, 2. producing no result; useless, “a vain attempt to tidy up the room”
Similar: futile, useless, pointless, worthless, nugatory, to no purpose. (Modesty is produced by fear.) ( Loving Humility and Obedience comes only by faith and free will.)

We have all heard in a sermon somewhere, the following: “We only get to keep, what we send ahead.” So if today was your eternal report card day? How much of what you have done would have served the Kingdom of God and others, (really) and how much would have simple, just served yourself?

So let us look at the word vain or vanity and what the Bible says about it?

‘You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain [that is, irreverently, in false affirmations or in ways that impugn the character of God]; for the Lord will not hold guiltless nor leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain [disregarding its reverence and its power].” First Commandment. Duet.5:11. (In other words don’t say that GOD said or did something that HE did not say or do. I know people that everything they do, they say it was of God even when not, and never look back to see if it was.

“They rejected His statutes and His covenant which He made with their fathers, as well as His warnings that He gave them. And they followed vanity [that is, false gods, idols] and became vain (empty-headed). They followed the [pagan practices of the] nations which surrounded them, although the Lord had commanded that they were not to do as they did.” 2 Kings 17:15. ( Every time we go to a so called church it is mixed with pagan practices and we don’t even know it because we tend to be Biblically Illiterate. Can you pick out the traditions of men that prevent God’s power from blessing the sick? )

Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. Psalm 127:1″ “They worship Me in vain [their worship is meaningless and worthless, a pretense],” “‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me. Matt.15:8-9″ “But in vain do they worship Me, For they teach as doctrines the precepts of men. Teaching the precepts of men as doctrines [giving their traditions equal weight with the Scriptures]. Mark 7:7. “ “By this faith you are saved [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain [just superficially and without complete commitment].” 1 Cor.15:2. “Working together with Him, we strongly urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain [by turning away from sound doctrine and His merciful kindness].”

“But as it is, you boast [vainly] in your pretension and arrogance. All such boasting is evil.” James 4:16. “Whose fate is destruction, whose god is their belly [their worldly appetite, their sensuality, their vanity], and whose glory is in their shame—who focus their mind on earthly and temporal things.” Phil. 3:19. “For uttering arrogant words of vanity [pompous words disguised to sound scholarly or profound, but meaning nothing and containing no spiritual truth], they beguile and lure using lustful desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error.” 2 Peter 2:18.

So vain, vanity, Pride is what destroyed Adam & Eve and every day we are faced with the same three temptations as taught by John in 1 John 2:16: “Do not love the world [of sin that opposes God and His precepts], nor the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust and sensual craving of the flesh and the lust and longing of the eyes and the boastful pride of life [pretentious confidence in one’s resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father, but are from the world. 17 The world is passing away, and with it its lusts [the shameful pursuits and ungodly longings]; but the one who does the will of God and carries out His purposes lives forever. So what we see here as faith is the opposite of fear, most vanity is fear based. Many of the things that we do in life are fear based. We even tend to bend the rules to have a better retirement out of fear. The fear that GOD will not really take care of us. So fear is faith going backwards and causes us to use vanity to try to be secure. But the only true security in this world is in our Creator through Christ Jesus as our LORD. Much of the world now is in vanity and fear now as we come to a close of this age, Luke 21:24.

So in looking at the scripture in Mark 7:6-9: “Jesus replied, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites (play-actors, pretenders), as it is written [in Scripture],

‘These people honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.‘They worship Me in vain [their worship is meaningless and worthless, a pretense],Teaching the precepts of men as doctrines [giving their traditions equal weight with the Scriptures].’ You disregard and neglect the commandment of God, and cling [faithfully] to the tradition of men.” And we wonder why there is no Power in the so call church today. It is because much of what we do is done through vanity and man made traditions in what we present as “God’s Truth” in church today. Paul gave us a prophesy about it in 2 Tim.3 and in verse 5 gave us this warning, “ Holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people and keep far away from them.”

So I am now looking for Biblical Christians who are interested in unity and in the restoration of the Power of God to the Church which has been mostly lost through the vain traditions and the commandments of men. “And the people from the towns in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together, bringing the sick and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all being healed.” Acts 5:16.

TRAPS: WORTH CONSIDERING From Christian Berg, 2/26/22
·
Monkey Trap, I know this title is a unique way to begin a spiritual dissertation. With your patience, my train of thought will come together at the end.
Natives of Africa, Asia and South America have all discovered the same method for catching monkeys. The technique requires a gourd or large coconut which has had a hole drilled in it the size of a monkey’s hand; yet small enough that the monkey cannot remove his hand if he is clutching something. The gourd will be weighted down with small pebbles or chained to something so the monkey cannot run off with it. The natives begin by making a big production of inserting a treat into the gourd, in view of all the monkeys in the trees. One of the monkeys will then go to gourd insert his hand and grab the treat. As he attempts to pull his hand out, he now realizes the hole is too small. Confused, he sits there, not willing to let go of the treat.
The natives now return with their clubs and walk towards the monkey. The monkey is very frightened. He screams. He jumps up and down, yet he will not let loose of the treat. The monkeys’ instinct is to hold onto what it possesses and not let go. It seems so simple. The monkey merely needs to let go of the treat to be free. The monkey has made a very poor choice: his freedom for a prize that is not worth much. The monkey is behaving out of instinct. He does not realize he is jeopardizing his future by holding on to the bait. We humans however ought to be able to keep away from such a trap. We ought to be able to recognize the danger of holding on to things which do not benefit us. We ought to be able to let go.

Unfortunately, most of the traps in life are those we create for ourselves. We hold on to things that do not serve us well. We hold on to past mistakes. We hold on to insisting we are right; you are wrong. We hold on to anger, resentment and bitterness. We become emotionally attached to our possessions, sometimes placing them ahead of our own well-being. We are much like the monkey. Our instincts make it impossible for us to let go. I am talking about mental or spiritual instincts that we have inherited from Adam at the fall of man. Instincts that are offensive to God, which have influenced our past and continue to shape our present and future.
These are the BIG 3 OFFENSES:

GUILT The past
UNFORGIVNESS The present
FEAR The future

These 3 offenses are what keeps big pharma, bars and comfort foods in business. We are all living with at least one of the 3 spiritual offenses. We may internalize or bury these offenses with food, drugs, compulsive buying or staying extremely busy. That way we do not have time to think of how we are offending God. These offenses are spiritual symptoms of rebellion and stubbornness, and they defile you before God. 1st Samuel says, “15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry,” If we have these offenses in our heart we are tainted before God: Mark 7:15 (NLT) It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.” Lu 6:45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks. I was very interested in the word offence, so I looked it up in Strong’s Greek Concordance and I was totally blown away by what I found:

OFFENSE Strong’s Greek Concordance #4625: SKÁNDALON; the means of stumbling, the method means of entrapment, i.e., how someone is caught by their own devices like their personal bias and carnal thinking. Also, skandalon (offence): a bait-stick for bait in a trap or snare. So here is the bottom line. We have a means to overcome our human instincts: accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. This is often called being born again. From that moment of acceptance, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Through the power of this gift, our minds will be renewed. When we accept Jesus, He places His Spirit into ours. We now have the ability to let go of that bait stick of guilt, unforgiveness and fear which satan clubs us with. It is an ongoing process of releasing thoughts of envy, pride, fear, guilt, etc. Jesus allows us free will to choose the bait stick over peace, joy and love. Christian<><

HUMILITY

(Really a great message from George, yesterday.) “Worthy Brief <worthybrief@worthynetwork.com>”
Revelation 5:8-10 And when He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having harps and golden vials full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals, for You were slain and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation. And You made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign over the earth.

>From the beginning of Genesis (Genesis 4:4) to the end of the Bible (Revelation 22:3), there is a common theme — the Lamb! In Revelation 6 we read about the Lamb who sits in the midst of the throne — worshiped by all of heaven because the Lamb was worthy to take the book and open the seals therein. The most harmless of creatures — the object of sacrifice, becomes the authority of heaven. Isn’t it interesting that the focal point of heaven is a Lamb?

The world seeks power, fame and glory… The world’s mentality is “survival of the fittest”… This is the way “nature works”. And yet, how would a lamb fare in this competitive environment? It appears to be the weakest of all the animals, and yet, is the symbol of power and authority in the Kingdom of God! An amazing paradox. Authority in the Kingdom of God is marked and even defined by gentleness and sacrifice, in total opposition to the world’s definition.

When Yeshua died as the lamb of God — He revealed the greatness of sacrifice. Likewise, Revelation 12:11 declares of the martyrs, “They conquered by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony; for they loved not their lives even unto death.” Several of Yeshua’s paradoxical statements illustrate His Kingdom priorities. “He that loses His life for my sake — shall find it”. [Matthew 10:39]. “He that seeks to be greatest in the Kingdom shall become a servant to all”. [Matthew 23:11]. Victory through death? Gain through total loss? Great stature through abject servanthood? Such are the beautiful ways of our Lord.

So, meditate on the Lamb, and you will discover the greatness in humility, the authority in harmlessness, the responsibility in servanthood, the victory in surrender, and the majesty in submission to the great God of creation. In His world, servants become kings; surrender becomes victory; death turns to resurrected life. Take hold of the paradox of the Lamb — take hold of the Kingdom of Heaven! Your family in the Lord with much agape love, George Baltimore, Worthy Brief <worthybrief@worthynetwork.com>

So, simply, the way up, is down. “Before Honor, is humility. Prov. 18:12” “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God [with faith and humility] like a child will not enter it at all. Luke 18:17.” “Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus [look to Him as your example in selfless humility], Phil. 2:5.” “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit [through factional motives, or strife], but with [an attitude of] humility [being neither arrogant nor self-righteous], regard others as more important than yourselves. Phil. 2:3.” “So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper]; Col.3:12.” “Likewise, you younger men [of lesser rank and experience], be subject to your elders [seek their counsel]; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another [tie on the servant’s apron], for God is opposed to the proud [the disdainful, the presumptuous, and He defeats them], but He gives grace (POWER) to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5.”

SALVATION “WORTH CONSIDERING” 2/21/22 From, Ken Smith<><

About 60 years ago, when going up from Orange County to Big Bear Lake to visit my mother. On the way, there was a small tunnel that all had to drive though. On this day, I noticed that some well meaning Christian had defaced the rocks above the tunnel entrance and had written “JESUS SAVES” in big bright green letters. My feeling was not too positive as to the effort and it was very dangerous in being up there over the road, to do that, for sure. And then about a month later I went again to visit and there had been written under JESUS SAVES the words: “GREEN STAMPS” which were being given at that time to get folks to buy a different product and gas. And I had mixed emotions but finally had to laugh out loud as I was going through the little tunnel. Later it was all painted over but never ever really looked the same after that.

So what is being SAVED all about? And for sure, to be SAVED, I would first need to know that I was, perhaps, unsaved and needed saving. So if you don’t care about being saved or lost this will not be something of interest to you but I will try to share God’s Truth, from the Bible, about the Subject of Salvation so that there is no confusion as to what God has given HIS prophets to share with us about HIS salvation.

Contrary to what a lot of ministers preach, we were not born in the image and likeness of GOD. That was the potential in the beginning of the creation of man but was lost in the rebellion, pride and disobedience of our first parents. So we have all been born into a world that is spiritually dead , John 3, (Rom.6:11, 1 Cor. 15:22, Eph 2:1, Eph 2:5, Col.2:13 ) and if you want to dig even deeper consider John 8, where Jesus calls the Religious Leaders of HIS day the Children of satan. So seems we are born lost. The Bible teaches that our soul is created eternal and in that way, we are like GOD. So now it becomes a matter of eternal placement. But our eternal soul now lives in a temporary body for the purpose of growth and communications if we are up for it. So being lost simply means that if we reject God’s offer of Salvation of being Saved and neglect going through the process of Sanctification (to be changed to be like God..) That God will not give those who reject HIS Salvation of being saved a new body to further mess up like we did with this temporary one. So no new body means, no light, feel, taste, smell, sound… Only to exist with our earthly recorded thoughts through all eternity, alone, with no place of repentance and remembering all of the times that you could have changed all of that through God’s loving mercy and grace in Christ Jesus as LORD. So if you like yourself the way that you are, when you die, get ready, as you will live with only yourself alone for all eternity. That is what God wants to save you from in Christ Jesus. But HE can not violate your free will or love would be of no value. I have not given you all of the scriptures to support all of this but they are in my link at: www.OhanaChurch.Life under “Worth Considering” at the bottom of the Homepage. And there is a search engine that works rather well, Try It!!!!

So what does God want to save us for and what can we do or need to do about it ? There is a beautiful teaching about this in the prophesy of Jesus Christ in Rev.21:3-7 that gives us the clear picture along with the support of many other scriptures that our Creator God would like us to become HIS eternal Family. And that all are invited and if we truly want to live in righteousness that Creator GOD will give us the grace or power to help us learn what we need to learn to be able to make the jump to light speed and live with HIM in loving peace & joy in pure righteousness with humility and obedience in faith for eternity in a brand new eternal body.

So being “Saved” is not the trip up front to make Jesus Savior but a rock bottom decision to make HIM your very personal LORD, Rom.10:9-10. We have grown up in a democracy which gives us the freedom to agree to disagree. That is not what our Creator God has in Mind. He has in mind a KINGDOM with Christ Jesus being the absolute KING in pure unity. So it is not of feeling good or being with others, but the “WAY” of salvation begins with making Christ Jesus Lord and then through humility and obedience learning to find, digest and consume all of the commandments of Christ Jesus until we become just like HIM, 1 John 4:17-21

You have been lied to if you think you can make Jesus your savior and continue to live as you like. James taught that faith without works is dead…. Salvation is by and through faith alone but if there is no fruit as to your faith, Jesus teaches about this in Matt.13 and of the good seed of God planted only 25% grew without weeds and then still got pruned to bear more fruit. Also notice that 50% of the seeds germinated and were alive but later died due to lack of proper care. Jesus taught that unless we take the time to find HIS commandments and keep them with HIM being truly being our LORD that we would not make it into the Kingdom of God. That only he that endures to the end will really be saved. In fact in Hebrew 6, Apostle Paul covers this in detail. Salvation is a life long process. As long as you are alive, you have an Adamic, earthy bent that our Creator want’s to help you to be delivered from as in Roman 8:13-14. But the daily choice is always yours. However if we choose humility and obedience then our Creator God will give us the grace (power) to be victorious.

Jesus said, “Why call me LORD and don’t do what I say.” He also said that if we found HIS commandments and kept them that we would be loved by HIM and His Heavenly Father. In most, so call churches, that I have attended, the Gospel has been so watered down with man made traditions as to hardly be found in the Bible at all. And there is little or no power, 2 Tim.3:5. For 13 years I was in a church that taught, “Once saved, always saved” and in 1968 I found out, it was a total lie. We are not saved unless we learn to overcome the darkness of this world.. 1 John 5:5, Rev. 2:7, 2:11, 2:17, 2:26, 3:5, 3:12, 3:21, Rev.21:7. When Jesus Returns for HIS Church it will be glorious and powerful without spot, wrinkle or blemish and she will have made herself ready and will look just like HER LORD. She then boots lucifer out of the heavens in Rev.12:11. She will become the Rod of Iron with which Her Lord, Christ Jesus shall rule the universe. Ps. 2:9, Rev. 2:27, 12:5 & 19:15. So if you are not on board with learning how to have a personal, Rom. 8 victory in Christ Jesus and be an overcomer. If you believe that because you made Jesus your savior long ago but He is not your LORD (boss, king) to find and keep HIS Word, today, you just might not even be saved. Our Creator God is never going to allow pride and rebellion to contaminate HIS new Kingdom. Either Jesus is your LORD, or HE is not LORD at all. He is not going to share HIS power and glory with other little Kings in a divided house to populate HIS new Kingdom of eternity. When this 7,000 years of temporary time dimension is over, our Creator God is going to make a new creation in Righteousness. In which many are called but few are chosen. But the choice is ours, while alive, to come and drink of the waters of life freely, or not, but when you die, the side you are on, will be for eternity. This is what comes to me from the Bible, in context.

ETERNAL LIFE “WORTH CONSIDERING” 1/18/22 From Ken Smith<><

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Tim.4:2-4. “Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.” 1 Tim.1:4. “But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain (full of pride and vanity). Titus 3:9

AMP: But avoid foolish and ill-informed and stupid controversies and genealogies and dissensions and quarrels about the Law, for they are unprofitable and useless.

I can only see a big Pride Factor in being concerned about what folks did or did not do either now or in the past. Jesus totally leveled the playing field so we all have the same playing field as anyone else. The Heavenly Father has no grandchildren, only children. We have all been invited to become HIS children but most have declined HIS invitation. Jesus commissioned us to share the Truth that HE gave us to everyone we meet. Matt.28:19-20. And Jesus prayed for us to do this in John 17:20-26.

I have no idea, even, as to whom in my living family who are really Biblically Saved and part of the elect of God as I search the Holy Scriptures on the subject. It is an obedient walk before and in Jesus as LORD in loving humility that seals our salvation and it is not about learning to talk the talk when convenient. There is the “Social Gospel” and the “Biblical Gospel. But only the Biblical Gospel really works…. It is the only one that really gets us truly saved and into the Kingdom of God.

We have grown up with a lot of vain traditions and false doctrines all around us. I was first taught that all I needed to do was make Jesus my savior, confess my sins to HIM and I was good to go. I tried that at 16 and the kids called me “deacon” as a Jr. in high-school because I was trying to get everyone saved. But I had no mentoring in the faith to grow up in the faith and learn to make Jesus my LORD, “shallow soil.” So that lasted about 9 months then I ended up in a foster home and then back to North Hollywood for my Sr. year and barely graduated. Then off to the Army in Sept. 1950 for the Korean War. After a year in North Hollywood, The Army, and then to College I was an atheist. I really did not believe anyone was “UP THERE” and if they were they were asleep at the switch. But then at age 22 I ran into the Biblical living Jesus in a boy of 19, Floyd, and could not talk myself out of what I had experienced. I had been to the mountain and found the burning bush and had to take my shoes off. It has been a rocky road (WAY) as was called in the Early Church. But even if it were a totally self inflected delusion I have had a much better life than ever possible the way I was headed before I really found Jesus and HE found me.

Today’s Scripture: Because you got a double dose of trouble and more than your share of contempt, your inheritance in the land will be doubled and your joy go on forever. Isaiah 61:7, MSG ( A blog from a church in Texas.)

So you may be in a challenging time that has left you feeling beat up, worn and tired. It feels as though something’s been taken out of you that can’t be replaced. You’ve lost the spring in your step. Get ready, for God is about to breathe new life into your spirit. He’s going to renew your strength and renew your youth like an eagle’s. What that challenge took out, God is about to put back in—health, vitality, freshness, passion. He’s going to bring new opportunities, good breaks, the right people, and favor that catapults you ahead. He’s not going to just bring you out. He’s going to bring you out with double. When you come into double, nobody will know that business partner cheated you, nobody will know you had an unfair childhood, nobody will know you went through that illness. You’re going to be so blessed, so healthy, so strong, so favored that nobody will know what you’ve been through. That’s the way God restores. He’s going to bring you out better.

Ken’s Comments. Several times in my life experience, I have lost almost everything that I had of value like in 1968 and 1979 and 1991 and perhaps even some of it now in 2022? But you know what, with each loss, the Holy Spirit has more than restored what was lost in time. Even in this moment I am confronted with either agreeing with my adversary or to go to court and throw mud. I must make a decision. So be in prayer for me that I make the right decision. I am looking at the scriptures in 1 Cor. 6:7, “Why, the very fact that you have lawsuits with one another is already a defeat. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?” And “Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.” Matthew 5:25…. Not that I am concerned about the Prison part. But the concept of 2 Christians fighting in public before the world in a world court always hurts the cause of Christ in HIS quest to save the lost. About that, I am concerned. But I have been forced into a divorce court in order to try to keep my Family Estate together if I can? Divorce is sin, but like most sin, but one, can be forgiven. It is not unpardonable. 1 John 1:9… But the fall out or sowing and reaping is never good. But how can two walk together unless they be agreed and a house divided can not stand. Seems there are 3 factors that can Biblically break the marriage vows, Death, Adultery and Abandonment (1 Cor.7:15.) The Bible is full of scripture concerning the Husband’s and the Wife’s Responsibilities. So not a matter of choice but of humility and obedience. We are here on earth to learn God’s Truth in Humility and Obedience. If we make friends with the world, we are lost. If we make friends with the Holy Spirit in Light we will eventually grow up in God’s Light an enjoy HIS eternal family in light. But for now, we are in a spiritual school, a temporary dimension of time, for a short season to learn to live by faith in loving obedience and humility. Anything that keeps us from passing this course is not of GOD.

LIFE ABUNDANT “WORTH CONSIDERING” 2/16/22 From Ken Smith<><

Today’s Scripture. (From Joel Osteen)
A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. Proverbs 18:16, NKJV

Come Out of Your Shell
Ken, God has entrusted us with gifts and talents, but too often we let fear hold us back. We’re hiding our gifts, hiding our talents, hiding our personality. We’re afraid to come out of our shell, afraid we may not be accepted. It’s time to quit hiding. If God has given you the gift to sing, start singing. If you can write, start writing. If you can lead, start leading. If you can build, start building. If you can teach, start teaching. That gift doesn’t do you or anyone else any good if you keep it to yourself. It has to be released.

Your gift may seem small, but when you develop it, big doors will open. You don’t have to have a great gift for God to use you in a great way. Today’s Scripture doesn’t say you have to have a big gift, an important gift, an impressive gift. Whatever you have, if you develop it and keep getting better, it will open doors of opportunity, doors of promotion, and doors of influence.

A Prayer for Today, “Father, thank You for the gifts and talents You have given to me as well as my personality. Thank You that You created me to release my gift and make a difference in the world. I declare that I refuse to let fear keep me in hiding. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Also from (George Whitten:)
Acts 22:15, “ For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.”
Many times, our unbelieving family and coworkers — society in general, can make us feel small and inferior — like second-class citizens — because we are believers. Unfortunately, somewhere along the line, somehow, we begin to believe it! We become what I like to call “mopey Christians,” just moping around, keeping our faith hidden under a bushel, feeling afraid to say a word about Yeshua (Jesus), in fear that we might offend someone! And that’s precisely what the enemy wants us to feel! But we can choose whether or not to give in to his foolishness today! Yeshua said that those who follow after Him shall never hunger or thirst — they have been set free from the law of sin and death — they’ve been renewed, cleansed, forgiven, loved with an everlasting love! How on earth can we mope about that?? We need a reality check. We should be holding our heads high today and ready to tell people about the great work He’s done in us! We have been redeemed!

Ken’s Thoughts, Aloha, as for me today, working on climbing out of some demonic depressions. My wife, with no notice at all filled for a divorce and is going to court to get a chunk of my 7 children’s estate. So in Hawaii, seems that is normal. Either side can get a divorce without cause and claim the assets to be divided even if they did not contribute to even building the assets.. And my kids are now down on me for getting into a marriage 23 years ago with someone who would steal their inheritance. Of course people can change for good or for bad over the years. We will have the full use of our free will up until the time that we graduate (die). And every day we are faced with the three great temptations: The Lust of the Flesh, Lust of the Eyes and the Pride of Life. These were the temptations of both Adam & Even and Jesus. This is in a scripture written by John (The Beloved) closest apostle to Jesus about this: “Do not love the world [of sin that opposes God and His precepts], nor the things that are in the world. 18 Children, it is the last hour [the end of this age]; and just as you heard that the antichrist is coming [the one who will oppose Christ and attempt to replace Him], even now many antichrists (false teachers) have appeared, which confirms our belief that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us [seeming at first to be Christians], but they were not really of us [because they were not truly born again and spiritually transformed]; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out [teaching false doctrine], so that it would be clearly shown that none of them are of us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One [you have been set apart, specially gifted and prepared by the Holy Spirit], and all of you know [the truth because He teaches us, illuminates our minds, and guards us from error]. 1 John 2:14-20….

So on one side I have an ex-wife? Who want’s a chunk of what she feels that she deserves for living with and being supported by me for 23 years while working and keeping her own income. And on the other side, adult children with children and also with children (About 50) who will be hurt financially if I do not defend them. So I am faced with trying to find a win/win way out of this mess now at 89 and at this point in time can see nothing but big legal bills and darkness. But then, this too shall pass and the Kingdom of God will stand. So pray that I stay in the Holy Spirit about all of this and simple keep my eyes on the LORD. May be, that I have some more growing to do in learning to fly though a really black storm with only the instruments that I find in the Holy Bible and with Jesus as LORD.

So the words from Joel and George were good to start my day. The Holy Spirit got me up early this morning. And I never know in advance what to write. But I do hope that this note helps you use this day for our Lord’s Glory in being Christ Centered rather than wasted the day in being self-centered.

And by the way, My mailing list has become so large that I have to shorten it. So if I remove your name from my mailing by accident, please let me know and I will replace it. But I mail to many that for years I have had no contact with at all. I am about to reduce my list by about half.

FAITH IN GOD WORTH CONSIDERING 2/12/22 From Ken Smith<><

Today’s Scripture, ( From a ministry in Texas.)
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5, NKJV

Morning Is Coming, You may have shed some tears of sadness over what has not worked out, over dreams that haven’t come to pass, over disappointments, over the loss of a loved one. The Scripture says that God is going to turn your mourning into dancing and those tears of sorrow into tears of joy. It may not have happened yet, but it’s not over. What God promised you doesn’t have an expiration date. It’s still on the way. Your morning is coming. Your baby is coming, your healing is coming, your restoration is coming, your breakthrough is coming. When it happens, it’s going to be more rewarding, more fulfilling than you ever imagined. Too often we disqualify ourselves. We think it would have happened if we had more faith, or had not made so many mistakes, or were just good enough to deserve it. But God is full of mercy and doesn’t bless us based on our performance. What He promised is still going to come to pass. What He started, He’s going to finish. Joy is on the way.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that in times of sadness, when I don’t see the way out or a loss seems too great, I can know that it’s only for a night. Thank You that the morning is coming, and the tears of sorrow will be turned to joy. I believe the dancing You promised is on the way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Comments,
What we do speaks louder than what we say. Our testimony of our Love of Christ Jesus as our Savior in confirmed in our making Christ Jesus our LORD and in humility by coming into obedience to HIS commandments as our LORD. In the process of my children growing up, once they were mine, I have never given up on them, regardless of the mistakes they have made, if their heart is in trying to learn to become an adult in word and deed. One of them became a street homeless person. I still loved her but there was nothing I could do but pray to help her. But after she came to need help again, the past was forgotten and now even at 60 I am still her father and there for her. So our heavenly Father is all about saving us and sanctifying us to be like HIM if we will allow that to happen in Christ Jesus as our LORD. But He will not and can not violate our free will if we will have none of HIS influence in our lives and love this world more than Him.. So if you do not have a solid relationship with Jesus as LORD and are walking with HIM in HIS grace to make the needed changes in your life you will totally miss out on the Blessings that our Creator God has for you. There are only two rooms in eternity. One is with God and HIS blessings and Creation. The other is a void of darkness where HE has not created anything. If you come to love God in obedience you are home. If you do not you will live for ever with your own earthly thoughts for eternity without a body with which to touch any one else and utterly alone in absolute darkness according to Holy Scripture. I would not want this for anyone…

I am 89 now and under the best of circumstances have a life expectancy of 4.7 years left. So what to do with the last of this life time of grace that I have been given. So I am using some of it to write to you. And to encourage you to give the needed time to make your peace with your Creator in Christ Jesus. And to change from rotting out with this worlds comfortable options to leaning how to burn out for your Loving Creator. Start by reading the Book of John, Acts and Romans. And if you have questions, send them in and I will try to be of help. Or go to my web site: www.OhanaChurch.Life and go to the links below: “Worth Considering” and use the search engine to look up any topic word of interest. It will give you everything that I have written on the subject. It is only your actions that can confirm to your Creator that you are really HIS and mean business. Do you really want to live with HIM in HIS new heavens created for those who love HIM and keep HIS commandments? Read Chapters 21 & 22 of the Revelation. As there will be no room for hypocrites and such in HIS coming Kingdom and eternal home in being with Him in Righteousness. The way up, is down in the Kingdom of God. God resists the proud and gives Grace (power) to the humble. No Power in your church? 2 Tim.3:5, go find one with power. It is God’s Power that will confirm God’s Truth. God will not confirm with power that which is mixed with man’s vain traditions. Need to know your Bible to be able to sort this all out. You need to be able to verify all you are being taught in context.

Angel, a Jew, owner of the most famous bakery in Germany, often said: “Do you know why I’m alive today? I was still a teenager when Nazis in Germany killed Jews mercilessly. Nazis took us to Auschwitz by train. Last night in the ward was deadly cold. We were left for many days in cars without food, without beds, which means without the possibility to warm up somehow. It was snowing everywhere. The cold wind frozen our cheeks every second. There were hundreds of us on those cold, horrible nights. No food, no water, no hiding. The blood is frozen in the veins. Next to me was an elderly Jew who was very loved in my city. He was all shaking and looking terrible. I wrapped him with my hands to warm him up. Hugged him tight to give some warmth. Rub his hands, legs, face, neck. I begged him to stay alive. I cheered him up. This is how I kept this man warm all night. I myself was tired and frozen. Fingers crossed, but I kept massaging this man’s body to warm him up. So many hours have passed. Finally the morning has come, the sun has started to shine. I looked around myself to see other people. To my horror, all I could see was frozen corpses. All I could hear was the silence of death. Frosty night killed everyone. They died of cold. Only two people survived: the old man and me. The old man survived because I didn’t let him freeze, and I survived because I made him warm. Allow me to tell you the secret of survival in this world? When you warm the heart of others, then you will warm yourself. “When you support, strengthen and encourage others, then you receive support, strengthening and encouragement in your life.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NIV “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” How is your report card doing on this commandment of our LORD through Apostle Paul?

JESUS IS LORD “WORTH CONSIDERING” 2/10/2022 From Ken Smith<><

A flower for you! From: Worthy Brief <worthybrief@worthynetwork.com>
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

I heard a story about a man who was imprisoned during Napoleon’s reign. While sulking in his dungeon one day, he etched on the wall the words “Nobody Cares”. A few weeks later, through a crack in the dungeon floor, a little green shoot sprang forth, reaching toward the tiny ray of sunlight that came from his small prison cell window. The prisoner began giving a portion of his daily water to the little shoot and it began to grow. One morning the man awoke to a beautiful flower. A tear rolling down his face, he crossed out the words, “Nobody Cares” and replaced them with “God Cares.” The story goes on to tell that His devotion to the flower was reported to the Empress Josephine. She was so very moved that she convinced Napoleon to set the man free. How many times do we feel like “Nobody Cares”? God has planted little shoots of hope in each and every one of our difficult circumstances — do you know that? Perhaps we’re stepping on them, not even noticing they exist. Perhaps we’re pulling the shoots before they spring forth into beautiful flowers.

God wants us to be released from our prisons of despair. Look around! See what God has planted since the beginning of time especially for us today. Be encouraged!

Today’s Scripture, From a ministry in Texas, Well Worth considering….
Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Romans 12:2, MSG

It’s Not Worth It. There’s a price to pay to become all we were created to be. You may not be able to do what others do, to watch what they watch, or to do your business as they do business. To always do the right thing, you’ll need to go the extra mile. People may not understand why you won’t talk behind someone else’s back, or why you won’t slack off at work with them, or why you won’t laugh about certain things. It’s not our business to judge them, but don’t become like them. Don’t lower your standard. Value God’s blessing more than what another person thinks of you. If you don’t feel good about something, if you have to talk yourself into it and make excuses as to why it’s okay, it’s not worth it. You’ll never go wrong taking the high road. Have a made-up mind. “I’m going to be a person of integrity and honor God in all I do. I’m not going to compromise what I know God says.” Be the person whom God rewards.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that when I fix my attention on You and do what’s right, You change me from the inside out. I’m not going to be pressured into compromising, and I’m not going to live like everyone else. I will not lower my standard to please someone else. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s thoughts, We must now learn not to be manipulated or re-directed by the enemy of our souls. This is a time for dumping what ever is not of Christ Jesus. And for dumping any love that we have for this world including our fears or pride. The world is passing away, and with it, many that we love and especially if family. Seems we are entering into the time of stress, Matt.24, Mark 13, Luke 21 as the Church of Christ Jesus is about to be born into the Kingdom of God and it is not comfortable. So if we look at it in the Holy Spirit , our life process is now for our purification and sanctification. As the judgment first begins at the house of God. “For it is the time [destined] for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not respect or believe or obey the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17. So: “Do not love the world [of sin that opposes God and His precepts], nor the things that are in the world. 17 The world is passing away, and with it its lusts [the shameful pursuits and ungodly longings]; but the one who does the will of God and carries out His purposes lives forever.” 1 John 2:15-17

So if we make friends with the world then we tend to become like the world and eventually that feels like it is normal to us. And if we gain the acceptance of the world, as John tells us, we will miss the Kingdom of God. That we will get use to the kingdom of this world with it’s pride, self-centeredness and disobedience and become just like it. But when the Church goes home it goes home in Victory ( Rom. 8 ) and will look exactly like Jesus in the Holy Spirit. It will be without spot, wrinkle or blemish and be totally ready to go home at the Rapture.. If fact, Apostle Paul tell us very clearly that if we don’t suffer persecution something is wrong with our Christian walk, so called. “Indeed, all who delight in pursuing righteousness and are determined to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be hunted and persecuted [because of their faith]. 13 But evil men and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced [holding tightly to the truths], knowing from whom you learned them, 15 and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings (Hebrew Scriptures) which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus [surrendering your entire self to Him and having absolute confidence in His wisdom, power and goodness]. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the [a] man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Tim.2:12-17. So making Jesus only your savior, is not enough. He must also be your LORD, Roman 10:9-10. Not preached much, but good solid Bible if you care to look.

COAT CHANGE: WORTH CONSIDERING 1/30/22 From Ken Smith<><

Today’s Scripture (From a church in Texas.)
…to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness… Isaiah 61:3, NKJV

Change Coats
The Scripture says to put on a garment of praise for a spirit of heaviness. A garment is like a coat. Before you can put on a coat of praise, you have to take off the coat of heaviness. Sometimes we wonder why we don’t have any joy, why we’re not passionate. Simply, We’re wearing the wrong coat. “Nothing good is in my future. I never get any breaks.” That coat of discouragement doesn’t look good on you, that coat of self-pity is out of style, and that coat of bitterness over who left you or what you didn’t get doesn’t fit you anymore. Now do your part and take off that coat of offense and put on a coat of praise. “Father, thank You that Your plans for me are for good. Thank You that what You started in my life You will finish.” If you’re going to rise to the next level, you have to adjust your attitude. You can’t have a defeated mentality and live a victorious life.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that though I can’t change my past, I can control my attitude today and make sure that I’m not wearing a coat of heaviness and discouragement. Thank You that I can put on a garment of praise and thanksgiving. I’m going to live today with a great attitude. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

This is very supportive for me today, at this time in my life at 89 as my wife of 23 yrs. left for Oklahoma on 1/22/22 and the very next day I was served with divorce papers. Her basic complaint is that I bring too many people home to try to help them find Jesus. And wants to split assets…. So which coat am I going to put on? Could be very stressful, not knowing the future but also it is comforting to know who controls the future in courts, Romans 13. So this Saturday night I had a peaceful nights sleep, a cup of green tea this morning and some good breakfast soon. It is a sunny 73 degrees F at 9:21 and headed up to 83 by this afternoon. with 64% humidity…. With a clear clean beautiful day. So think I will put on the garment of praise today and simple just praise the LORD for the Peace and Freedom that I am now enjoying. Tomorrow is in the LORD’s hands. And now I can bring home who every the Holy Spirit want’s me to without them feeling unwanted. After all, the only things we get to keep out of this world are what we send ahead into the Kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 3:11-15. (Break)

Enjoyed cooking Breakfast with Cindy, my 60 yr. old daughter for the first time in the main house. What a blessings. She is ½ a bubble off but getting much better now being here. And now I have a spare bed room with a queen bed and private bath for bringing home anyone who I feel the Holy Spirit wants me to try to help in walking towards HIS light. All along, this place has been a dream of the Kingdom and much like walking on the water. At my age with disabilities I can physically do very little. But the Holy Spirit seems busy putting it all together in spite of me. Also we have room for 2 woman gardeners in the 2nd floor of the Ohana which is set aside just for women. So if you get too cold, contact us for a work/trade vacation in beautiful Kealia, Hawaii.

The FEAST of TABERNACLES – a key for today? by Andrew Strom
From every quarter right now there is dissatisfaction with Western Christianity and what it has become. ALL of us are searching for something that will take us out of the spiritual ‘rut’ that the church seems to be in – into REAL Christianity the like of which we have never seen. So many are yearning and searching for this thing. -Something that goes beyond just a temporary “revival” and ACTUALLY REMAINS WITH US. -A permanent state of being. -Becoming the glorious Body of Christ in the earth as she is truly meant to be.

I was praying last night and God reminded me of the Feast of Tabernacles. This is the Feast that represents God Himself coming down and “TABERNACLING” with His people. -Actually living and abiding with the corporate Body – his full holy presence residing with us.

There were three major Feasts that the Israelites observed. The first two – Passover and Pentecost – have been literally fulfilled in the days of the New Testament. A number of teachers say that ‘Tabernacles’ is the one that is yet to be fulfilled – and perhaps this is what we are all sensing in our spirit. -A yearning for God to come down – not just temporarily as with many past Revivals – but actually remaining and ‘tabernacling’ with us – in all His glory.

So what is the pathway to seeing this occur? Well, I cannot see that it is any different from the way in which God has ALWAYS come down amongst His people. The first prerequisite is that the Bride “makes herself ready”. There must be a purifying of the robes, a total cleansing of the hands and heart. This is why deep dealing with SIN and deep REPENTANCE have been at the heart of every major move of God. Before He can come down and dwell with us, there must be a corporate ‘Body’ that has been prepared and purified to receive Him. Sin must be rooted out. Pride and vain imaginings must be brought down. Thus the ‘Repentance’ preachers – the “John the Baptists” must first come to prepare the way of the Lord. These preachers must be allowed to do their work or there will be no glory to follow.

Secondly, there must be a great crying to God to come and dwell amongst us – to ‘Tabernacle’ with us – to display His glory and bring His holy presence down. -A rending of hearts and a desperate crying to God.

Both of these things have been spoken about on this List many times before. They are the keys to the next Awakening – and possibly to the true fulfillment of “Tabernacles” itself. We must have deep repentance and a great crying to God to “come down” and glorify Himself amongst His people.

I truly believe that what God really wants is to ‘Tabernacle’ – to dwell with His people – and display His glory to the world. Special blessings to all, Andrew
