CHANGE       “WORTH CONSIDERING”    8/22/19    (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”   (Philippians 4:8, NKJV)
Switch Over To The Victory Channel

It’s interesting that our mind will naturally gravitate toward the negative. One study showed how positive and negative memories are handled by different parts of the brain. A negative memory takes up more space because there’s more to process. As a result, we will remember the negative more than the positive. For example, a person will remember losing fifty dollars more than they will remember gaining fifty dollars.

Knowing this, we have to be proactive with our thoughts. When negative memories come back to the movie screen of the mind, many people pull up a chair, get some popcorn and watch them all over again. No, the point is that’s not the only channel. There’s another movie playing on a channel that’s filled with your accomplishments and victories.

Instead of staying on that negative channel, switch over to your victory channel. You’re not going to move forward into the new things God has in store if you’re always replaying the negative things that have happened to you. Instead, learn to change the channel. Meditate on victory and move forward in the victory and blessing God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, today I choose to set my focus on what You’ve done in my life. I choose to change the channel in my mind from defeat to victory. I set my thoughts on Your love and thank You for Your blessing in every area of my life in Jesus’ name! Amen.”

My Thoughts:
This is a tough one…  A lot of how we feel about the value of ourselves is based upon how others feel about us whether true or not.  And we tend to elevate ourselves but standing on the shoulders of others.  So to make of ourselves of no reputation and sit comfortable at the foot of the table, as Jesus did,  is something that our worldly Adamic natures does not like at all.  But then when we do that we find our placement is of GOD and HE gives us HIS reputation.

James teaches about being a HOLY MAN ( Righteous Man ) that his prayers are answered, James 5:16b-18.  This is a deeper level than “imputed righteousness” this is actual righteousness or sanctification.  So how to become really righteous?  That means to have the humility to find GOD will and then to be obedient and walk it out.  So switching channels in your mind to what is actually true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report will take some doing but is well worth the effort.  To be so forgiving that you even forget the name of the person who wronged you.  That you quit telling the stories that only make you look good and others look bad.  In Hawaii it is called “talking stink” about someone.  That, as unto the LORD,  wives honor their husbands and that husbands lay their lives down for their wives as Jesus did for HIS CHURCH.  That the union of being one that GOD meant for marriage to be, becomes a reality so that prayers are answered,  1 Peter 3.  And there is a living witness of Christ Jesus and HIS Church for the world to observe.  In the light of eternity our lives are less than a second long and you can only keep, what you send ahead.

So this instruction this morning will take some concerted effort and deep prayer time with the Holy Spirit to become a reality in your life.   But it could be the very thing that really sets you free to really serve our LORD.  Junk in,  Junk out…Jesus in,  Jesus out.  How much of what you are doing today has eternal value?  We reap, what we sow.  Your soul is eternal,  where will you be in eternity?   In eternity what will be important?

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,  Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org

(THERE IS BUT ONE CHURCH OF CHRIST JESUS AND ALL WHO LOVE AND OBEY HIM ARE MEMBERS.)

By David Wilkerson:

On the Day of Pentecost, the 120 disciples gathered in the Upper Room. They had come together as one body for one purpose: the hope of seeing Jesus´ promise fulfilled: "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high" (Luke 24:49). Their cry was the same as in Isaiah´s day: "Lord, rend the heavens and come down. Let all opposition, human and demonic, melt at your presence, so the lost may be saved." And we know what happened! The Holy Spirit fell, with visible fire appearing on the disciples´ heads. They emerged from that room forever changed and thousands of lives were transformed as a result. The only thing those 120 disciples in the Upper Room had to hold onto was a promise from Jesus that he would come. And he did come, with power unseen in all of history. Likewise today, all we have to hold onto is a promise from our Lord. He pledged to all who would follow him, "I appoint unto you a kingdom" (Luke 22:29). Right now, the Lord is hearing his people´s cry, all over the world. As the Spirit falls and stirs our hearts, let this be our hearts desire as well. David Wilkerson "A Cry Is Rising."
