WE NEED JESUS

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,  John3:16

WE NEED JESUS,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”   8/8/19   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“…apart from me you can do nothing.”   (John 15:5, NIV)

Without Him
The best decision of your life was to live your life with God at the center. That was the essential first step to living at your full potential. Now the key to experiencing an extraordinary life every day is to grow in your relationship with God. In this Scripture, Jesus talks about how life with God is like a vine and its branches. When a branch is connected to the vine, it receives nourishment and life. It’s able to produce fruit. In the same way, we have to stay connected to God so we can receive His strength and be empowered to accomplish all that He has for us. Jesus put it this way, “Without Me you can do nothing.”

So how do we stay connected? First, by acknowledging Him. By talking to Him. By reading and following His Word. See, when you acknowledge God, that’s a sign of humility. You’re saying, “God, I know You created the whole universe. You flung the stars into space. You tell every raindrop where to fall. I’m not here by accident. You breathed Your life into me. You made me in Your image. You crowned me with Your favor. God, I can’t do this without You. I can’t make it on my own. I need You in my life.” When you show that kind of dependency on God, there is nothing He won’t do for you. God will move heaven and earth to get you to where you’re supposed to be.”

A Prayer for Today
“Father, today I choose to abide in You. I don’t want to live life on my own, so I choose to trust in You. Show me Your ways. Teach me Your love. Keep me close to You always in Jesus name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
So really, when we consider, 1 Cor. 3:11-15:
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Yes, and please read it again…  You don’t work for salvation,  that is a gift for making Christ Jesus Lord.  But you do work for wages on HIS foundation.    So just how much of your life time will end up as gold, silver and precious stones?  And what does GOD consider as gold, silver and precious stones in HIS Kingdom where the streets are made of pure gold?  Jesus shared,   41.
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.  42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. Matt.10.   And again in Matt.25:33-40.  Jesus tells us what is important to HIM and our Heavenly Father:  33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?4And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

So as we come into some sheep humility and obedience to the Holy Spirit where HE is allowed to take over and works through us a lot of our priorities will change.  And as we get the long view and fully trust HIM with the remainder of our lives we will pick up HIS concerns and not even notice that we are changing.  In other words we begin to be totally in unity with GOD and HIS loving concern for the souls of HIS Creation.  So that what is best for others becomes also important and best for us.  So as we abide in HIM we will begin to produce fruit that is everlasting.  For without HIM our past will be burned up as time wasted or perhaps not even make it.

SEEK FIRST

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of GOD,   John 3:16

SEEK FIRST,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”   8/7/19,   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you…”  (Isaiah 26:9, NLT)

Seek First
Jesus said in Matthew 6, “Seek first the kingdom of God.” That word “seek” is a strong word. One definition is “to require as a vital necessity.” You have to see spending time with God as being vital to living a victorious life. When things get busy, the children need you, it’s hectic at the office, or you’ve got a thousand things to do, you’ve got to put your foot down and say, “No, this is not an option. If I’m going to be strong, if I’m going to be my best today, if I’m going to have God’s favor, I’ve got to rearrange my priorities so I can spend time with God.”

You may have to get up earlier—before the children need you, before checking your emails, before the phone starts ringing. Take time to invest in your spiritual well-being. We feed our physical body at least three meals a day, but often we feed our spirit just once a week at church. We wonder why we feel burned out, unenthusiastic, and lack favor, wisdom and creativity. It’s because we’re not taking time to get filled back up. Just like we feed our physical man, we need to feed our spiritual man. When you invest in your spiritual well-being, it will pay huge dividends in your life.”

A Prayer for Today
“Father, today I choose to put You first. I acknowledge that without You, I can do nothing. I invite You to have Your way in my life as I seek You first in all that I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My thoughts:
Just about every morning now, I wake up and tell the LORD (Holy Spirit) that I want HIM to take charge of my day and help me to have the humility and obedience to walk it out with HIM in charge.  GREAT WAY TO GO….

We tend to think that our soul lives in a little one room cabin but that is a lie.  Actually we live in a very big house with a great many rooms.  Many of which have stuff stacked in them from long ago, forgotten, good and bad.  The Holy Spirit wants to clean house and fill our houses with HIS presence.  And the Holy Spirit usually finds more rooms to clean out and fill with his presence than we even knew that we had in our house.  The Holy Spirit always asks for our permission to open a door to clean a room.  Sometimes we already know that it stinks to high heaven so bad in there that we don’t really want to open it, we are totally embarrassed.  But He does not give up so eventually we say yes, the door gets opened and we find a bunch of squatters (demons) living there and using the window and door moldings to cook hot dogs in the middle of the lovely wood floor and are totally stinking up the place.  Of course we then want them gone and the Holy Spirit makes it possible.  HE then cleans up the room like new and moves in to another room in our house.  An unequal yoke marriage is usually due to a dirty house.  The job of the Holy Spirit is to help us to become like Jesus,  like when Jesus said “satan comes but has nothing in ME.”  John 14:30.  The Holy Spirit wants to do the same thing with us so when the enemy comes, there is NO VACANCY.  So when we begin to have a clean house, the Holy Spirit begins to fill us with GOD’s power and we begin to grow spiritually very fast.  We are then also able to help others find their way to HIS LIGHT as well.  But our cup has to be empty in order for GOD to fill it.

Same thing happens with outside stuff as well.   In our new home in Kealia, Hawaii,  we have only room for about 20% of the stuff that I had saved up in nearly 50 years at the Inn,  perhaps even less.  Looking at the stuff that I have to sort out is like looking at a Hoarders TV sitcom.   Off to the dump again tomorrow,  be in prayer for me.    Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,  Ken<><

BORN TO WIN

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS, Beloved of God,  John 3:16

BORN TO WIN,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”     8/6/19   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“…If God is for us, who is against us?”  (Romans 8:31, NASB)

You Were Born To Win
The Bible says that we are more than conquerors through Christ. It doesn’t say that we will be more than conquerors when we grow stronger, get older or achieve some super-spiritual level. Scripture says we are more than conquerors right now. Rise up and see yourself as a champion in Him! You can be and will be victorious through Him. The problems that so often intimidate and defeat many people won’t have a firm hold on you when you’re walking with Christ and have the joy of the Lord! When you walk with Christ, strength and victory are yours through Him. Here’s something to remember today: if Christ is on your side, it doesn’t really matter who is against you! The opponents you face don’t really matter and don’t amount to much. Friend, take another look at your life today. You are a friend of God! No matter what you may face or who may seem against you, let this truth anchor deep within you—God is for you. Now go out in joy and make a difference for Him today, knowing who is on your side!

A Prayer for Today
“God, I know that You are on my side and that the other side doesn’t matter. Please give me the strength to stand against the giants that intimidate others. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

My Comments:
The issue here is that in the beginning of Romans 8 that VICTORY is predicated or subject to us also being 100% totally in faith towards GOD.  Most often we concoct a comfort zone in the realm of pastels.  We don’t like pure white light, not use to it,  told that it is impossible to be there.  So we make up our on comfort zone doctrine and then ask GOD to approve of it.  A little pink for passion,  green for greed, purple for pride,  brown for anger and so on.  Many times when young in the faith I was finding sanctification and holiness in the Bible that I saw as God’s plan for us,  I was told,  “Who do you think your are, Jesus Christ!”  But, but, but… that’s God’s plan for us, TO BE LIKE JESUS CHRIST.  And in that same letter, Paul also writes this prior to the Victory (Born To Win) scriptures:

Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that [f]comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].[That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot.8 So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and controls you]. But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God].10 But if Christ lives in you, [then although] your [natural] body is dead by reason of sin and guilt, the spirit is alive because of [the] righteousness [that He imputes to you].11 And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.12 So then, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh [we are not obligated to our carnal nature], to live [a life ruled by the standards set up by the dictates] of the flesh.13 For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons (children) of God.  Rom. 8:6-14

REST:   Also across my desk this morning….
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  Christ Jesus offers us a yoke, but not a heavy one. In fact, since He often referred to us as sheep, one might wonder if we were meant to carry a burden at all, since sheep are never used as plow animals. When have you ever seen sheep carrying anything … you don’t — they weren’t equipped to carry heavy burdens. In any case, the Lord promised us a light yoke, with rest for our souls. No doubt, it is the burden of sin which He intended to relieve us from, giving us true rest.

Taking up the Christ Jesus  yoke is equivalent to laying down a heavy burden, since His yoke offers rest, and He offers to carry our burden of sin. We often hear songs about laying our burdens down. Those words are a deep ministry to heavy laden souls. If you are burdened today, take His yoke upon you … lay it at His feet … be relieved … enter His rest.  HIS yoke is the LOVE of souls, that we can carry, easily.  Sheep love to be together and watch out for each other.

LIGHT

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS, Beloved of God,  John 3:16

LIGHT,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”     8/5/19   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“When darkness overtakes him, light will come bursting in…”  (Psalm 112:4, TLB)

Light Will Come
Anytime you are going through difficult, dark times, know that God already has a plan to bring you through to victory. When you call on His name, when you surrender your circumstances to Him, that’s when His light will come bursting through the darkness. Notice, it’s not going to trickle in, it’s not going to just barely get there. No, like a flood, like the breaking forth of waters, it’s going to come bursting in!

I believe it means that suddenly, you’re going to get well. Suddenly, you will meet the right person. Suddenly, you’re able to pay your house off. Our attitude should be, “My child may be off course, making poor decisions, but I’m expecting a flood of God’s mercy to bring him back.” Or, “My house has been on the market for a year and still hasn’t sold, but I’m expecting a flood of favor to cause it to stand out and sell.”

In the midst of that difficulty, don’t get discouraged. You’re in a prime position to see a flood of God’s goodness. Keep praising Him. Keep thanking Him and stay in faith because His light will break through the darkness!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for leading and guiding me. Thank You for Your hand of blessing upon my life. I choose to trust You even in the difficult times knowing that You are preparing me for the promises in my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Comments:
This is a really great thought to consider.  When GOD indwells our Faith, the lights go on.  Faith is knowing that the vision is of God and it will come to pass and with love and patience be willing to wait for it to happen.  And to not be surprised when it does.  I use a little tract that I put together on LIGHT that I hand out most every day now.  Sometimes even making paper airplanes of them for small children to get them into a home.  It has been attached if interested.

So Blocking off yesterday and only considering basics for tomorrow, use today to turn on some light.  If you are planning to be in Heaven with God,  there will be no night nor darkness there at all.  So best to start now in getting adjusted to God’s pure light for it is sure to come and burn up all of the darkness.

We wonder why people go to malls and kill.  This week several shootings, many have died.  Well, about 50 years ago we allowed GOD to be removed from our schools.  No more 10 commandments on the wall,  no more prayers,  no more singing Christian songs,  no more responsibility to a higher power for what we do.   Now we have a government full of politicians and a nation full of people who feel there is no GOD to need to answer to.  No accountability,  no final judgment,  no hell or heaven, in fact,  no moral anchor of TRUTH at all.  So without the LIGHT, in the darkness, what does it matter who does what to whom.  No GOD to have to answer to, what does it matter?  So it is up to us to let our LIGHT shine as Jesus taught us to.  The only LIGHT some will see or Bible some will ever read is YOU.  So get plenty of oil, trim your wick and SHINE….

Our little “HOUSE CHURCH” in Kealia is beginning to shine now,  keep us in your prayers.  Pretty dark around us but the light’s beginning to Glow.

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Remember,  Jesus is the Great Physician:
Hospitals have a phrase they use to describe their mistakes. It’s “preventable patient harm.”  That doesn’t sound so terrible.  But here’s what it really means:      A woman underwent genetic testing and was told she was at high risk for developing the type of cancer that killed her mother. So she had preventive surgery. Her breasts, ovaries, and uterus were removed.      Follow-up tests revealed that her doctor had read her genetic test wrong. She was not at risk for cancer. She had all that surgery for nothing.     A 51-year-old man needed his right leg amputated because of diabetes. Doctors accidentally amputated his left one and had to learn to live with no legs.      A woman was undergoing surgery when doctors accidentally set her on fire. A cauterizing tool set aflame an alcohol-based disinfectant. The woman suffered third-degree burns and eventually died. These kind of horrific blunders are shockingly common. Medical mistakes are the third-leading cause of death in the U.S. They cause more deaths than Alzheimer’s and diabetes combined.

Now, a new study shows that 5% of patients are victims of “preventable patient harm.”  The research was published in the journal The BMJ. Findings were based on 70 observational studies involving more than 337,000 patients.  The data revealed: 12%  of preventable medical errors lead to permanent disability or death.      The majority of preventable harm is caused by invasive procedures, medication, and other treatments.     Preventable harm adds $9.3 billion to health care costs in the U.S.    Another recent study shows that misdiagnosis is a big part of the problem.

Researchers from Johns Hopkins Medicine analyzed more than 11,000 medical malpractice claims. They found that up to 160,000 Americans are misdiagnosed each year. And misdiagnoses contribute to up to 80,000 deaths a year.  Why do doctors screw up so often?  One big reason is burn out…

GOOD FRUIT:

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,  John3:16

GOOD  FRUIT,    “WORTH CONSIDERING”   8/2/19     (Notes for our Friday Evening House Church, tonight)

Fruit of the Spirit,
So what is God’s design for us in the way of fruit after we are born from above ??….   When moved to Kealia,  we cut down about 10 big old trees in moving here.  Common mango (3 months of garbage per year.)   Kakua Nut, if you like to make necklaces or need a primitive candle and African tulip trees that can easily crush a house in a high wind.  Of course the neighbors got upset that we took down all of those old beautiful trees.   And in there place we have now planted 16 fruit trees and more to come.  You should see how happy those guys are.   Seems like the LORD was also making a parallel in HIS teachings to souls and trees.   And if I take what HE said as facts when I go to Costco to get groceries,  97 – 98  souls of 100  souls that I see will not make it into HIS KINGDOM due to their own choices,  Romans 1,  and the kind of fruit on their tree.  So what kind of a fruit tree is our LORD looking to plant in HIS ETERNAL GARDEN?    Peter’s first sermon on Pentecost was for the folks to “REPENT”…… (CHANGE)

Jesus taught, “
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Paul taught, “ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  Gal..5:22-23″

HUMILITY

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,  John 2 & 3

HUMILITY,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”   8/2/19,   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
…Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear.”(Psalm 10:17, NKJV)

Preparing for the Promise
In the Scripture, it says that God didn’t lead the Israelites by the shortest route to the Promised Land. He took them the long way on purpose because they were not prepared for war. God knew that if He would have taken them into the land too quickly, they would have been easily defeated. Their enemies were much bigger and much more experienced. So on purpose, God took them a longer route to protect them and strengthen them so that they could fulfill their destiny.

I’m sure they prayed many times, “God, we’re uncomfortable out here in the desert. Where’s our Promised Land?” But God didn’t answer that prayer, not because He was trying to make their lives miserable, but because He knew what was up in front of them. He had to prepare them to step into the fullness of their destiny.

In the same way, God has already laid out the plan for your life. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it. If you are in a difficult situation that’s taking longer than you hoped, know that God is preparing you. He is strengthening you. Stay in faith and keep praising Him as you move forward into the Promised Land He has for you!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for leading and guiding me. Thank You for Your hand of blessing upon my life. I choose to trust You even in the difficult times knowing that You are preparing me for the promises in my future in Jesus’ name. Amen

My Thoughts:
My first reaction was that the 40 years in the wilderness was the fault of the unbelief of the people of Israel.  But then I saw that the writer was considering the trek around the peninsula to Sinai and then to Canaan.   Of course then after all of that from Egypt to Canaan, they would not go on into the land due to their fear and unbelief.  They quit trusting in God’s promises and took control for themselves,  Pride….   God’s foreknowledge lets HIM know in advance the decisions that we will make in our lives and does HIS best to weave them into what is good for us.   But much of the time HE has to wait for the sowing and reaping to be completed.  Just like Israel,  we can make a decision out of fear, pride and unbelief and spend 40 years wondering in the wilderness.  We have been given a freewill and GOD will honor your right to choose the light or darkness.  True Love can only exist in FreeWill.

But if we are interested we can learn about light and darkness through HIS apostles and prophets so that we can be trained to avoid those painful situations of life like 40 years in the wilderness.  And that is the purpose of these notes.  They are written to encourage you to have the Humility to seek GOD’s TRUTH and walk in it.  Peter puts it this way: Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5  Paul gives us these thoughts on humility:    And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, Act 20:18-20.  And of course Proverbs 15:33  The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

So where there is little Humility, Pride controls through fear and unbelief.   And Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.  Prov.16:18

GOD’S GLORY

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,  John 3:16

GOD’S  GLORY,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”
8/1/19   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
…Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.”  (Exodus 33:18, NIV)

Seeing His Glory
Moses was talking to God and said, “God, show me Your glory.” God responded by saying, in effect, “Okay, Moses. I’ll show it to you, but you can’t see My face. The way you’ll know that I’ve been here is that you will see My goodness.” Whenever something good happens, large or small, God is saying, “That’s a sign of My presence.” If you’re seeing goodness in your life, you’re seeing God. You’re seeing a sign of His presence. I’m convinced that we see God at work all day long, but many times we don’t recognize it.

Today, be on the lookout for God’s goodness. Thank Him and praise Him for the little things as well as the big things. As you acknowledge His goodness, you’ll see Him more clearly and know His love in ways you never have before.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. Show me Your glory; show me Your love. Help me to see You and know You more every day in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thought:
First verse to pop into my head was Paul’s letter to the Romans, he said,  “
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.  Rom. 1:20-23.  And we still seem to be hard at work doing just that.  The rest of that chapter deals with some very serious issues of our day which as a nation, legally we are calling the darkness light and the light darkness.  Eventually God’s loving patience is going to end and Judgment will come.  As Christians we have been asleep at the switch and our national house has almost been destroyed.  We now publish more porn than Bibles.

Another manifestation of God’s Glory is recorded by John 2:11 when Christ Jesus turned the water into wine.  John records this as the 1st manifestation of HIS GLORY.  So experiencing the supernatural also reveals the GLORY of GOD.   We really don’t see that much any more due to lack of loving unity and faith in God’s Truth.  But some are standing and being accountable as brother Pat Conroy below,  My what boldness in the Holy Spirit to give this prayer before the House.  Now this is really a touch of God’s Glory:  Each of us has a bit of GOD’S glory to give to our lost world.  Is it under a bushel or on our front porch?  Matt.5:15,  Mark 4:21,  Luke 11:33

The Rev. Pat Conroy, chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives, cast out “spirits of darkness” from Congress during his opening prayer on Thursday morning.

Conroy’s prayer came the morning after President Donald Trump attacked “the Squad,” a group of four Democratic Congresswomen, at a rally in North Carolina. In the previous week, Democrats had fallen to infighting, and Trump was accused of racism for tweets urging political opponents to “go back … [to] the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”

Conroy struck a conciliatory but bold tone in his remarks, blaming not a political party but spiritual powers and principalities for the divisiveness in politics.

“We give you thanks, O God, for giving us another day,” Conroy prayed. “This has been a difficult and contentious week in which darker spirits seem to have been at play in the people’s house. In Your most holy name, I now cast out all spirits of darkness from this chamber, spirits not from You. I cast out the spirit of discouragement, which deadens the hope of those who are of good will. I cast out the spirit of petty divisiveness, which clouds the sense and the desire to be of fruitful productivity in addressing the issues more appropriately before this House. I cast out any sadness brought on by the frustration of dealing with matters detrimental to the honorable work each member has been called to engage in.

“Pour out, O Lord, Your sacred oil, as You did upon Aaron of old. Anoint Your servants here in the House with a healing balm to comfort and renew the souls of all in this assembly. May Your spirit of wisdom and patience descend upon all, so that any spirit of darkness might have no place in our midst. Rather, let Your spirit of comity, of brother and sisterhood, and love of our nation and of all colleagues in this chamber empower our better angels to be at play and the common work to be done for the benefit of all Your people. May all that is done within the people’s House be for Your greater honor and glory. Amen.”

MAN OF VALOR

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS, Beloved of GOD,   John 3:16

MAN OF VALOR   “WORTH CONSIDERING”   7/31/19   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
…”The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” (Judges 6:12, NKJV)

What Can God Do Through You?
Many people feel inadequate to do anything for God. But God doesn’t see you as inadequate. He sees you as complete, lacking nothing in Him! In the Scripture, Gideon was hiding out from his enemies. He was afraid and didn’t feel equipped to do what God called him to do. Gideon was focused on his circumstances and his limitations, but God was focused on what He could do through Gideon. Gideon felt weak; God saw him as strong. Gideon felt unqualified; God saw him as competent to do the job. Gideon felt insecure and full of fear; God saw him as fearless and full of boldness. Sure enough, when Gideon obeyed God, against all odds, he ended in victory!

You may feel that you’re average. You may think you’re ordinary, but God sees you as a champion. He believes in you and regards you as a strong, courageous, successful, overcoming person. You may not see yourself that way, but that doesn’t change God’s image of you. God still sees you exactly as His Word describes you. Dare to start seeing yourself as God sees you—as a victor!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for giving me a spirit of boldness. Thank You for giving me a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. I yield myself to You. I yield my heart, my mind and my whole being. Have Your way in me and lead me into Your victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
Seems to me that sometimes a personal message is expanded as to be assumed for everyone.  Sometimes folks have told me that they had Paul’s “Thorn in the Flesh.” as though that excused the flesh that got them into a mess.  I often ask them, is your name PAUL?  This was a personal conversation between Paul and the Holy Spirit.  It could happen, but more than likely it does not apply to any one else.  In the above context the LORD’s Angel was speaking specifically to Gideon.   And also the same in the verses with the contexts in Joshua 10:8 with “The LORD said to Joshua,  “Do not fear them……

Now if we can get the earth’s wax cleaned out of our ears and GOD speaks to us as above,  we best get along with it as God will help make it happen and there will be lots of Joy.  But don’t be presumptuous, as a lot of good folks get badly damaged that way.  So the real issue to this Blog is, are you really really able to hear the LORD, through the Holy Spirit, when HE speaks specifically to you???  Jesus taught,  “But he that entereth in by the door  (Remember Jesus said he was the only door.)  is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter (Holy Spirit) openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out .And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.  John 10:2-4.  and further on:  But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.  27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.   (Of course, we can get lost if we go it alone.)

So we need to spend more time in PRAYER and the WORD of GOD getting to know our shepherd’s voice so the we don’t become lunch for wolves.  And then we can become, fearless, strong, courageous, successful and an overcoming person for and in the LORD.

WELCOME HOME

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

WELCOME HOME,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”   7/30/19,   (In my mailbox today.)

Today’s Scripture
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”(Psalm 100:4, NKJV)

Enter with This
What an amazing privilege we have to enter boldly into God’s presence. Scripture says that we can come to His throne of grace and receive His mercy. Because He loves us, He has given us unlimited access to Himself 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. But notice that today’s verse tells us that we shouldn’t just come any old way to God. We shouldn’t come empty-handed to the King of kings and the Lord of lords. What can we bring? What do we have that’s worthy of Almighty God? Our praise. Our thanksgiving. Our worship. We are to enter His gates with an offering from our hearts of adoration because He is worthy!

Praise isn’t just about singing songs on Sunday mornings. Praise is the expression of gratefulness to Father God for Who He is and all that He has done. Praise gets God’s attention. Praise is a powerful tool in the life of the believer because God inhabits our praises! When we enter His presence the right way, He enters our circumstances; and when God shows up, the enemy must flee! Today, enter into His gates with thanksgiving and open the door for Him to move on your behalf!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, I come to You today with thanksgiving in my heart. I enter into Your courts with praise. Today I declare that You are good, and Your mercy endures forever! Have Your way in me by the power of Your Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
“Welcome Home”
Really nice to see that on the door mat at the front door where you have friends and relatives.  When in Japan in the 1950.s I felt that way with a family that sort of took me ( I was 18) in when I had leave while in the Army of Occupation.  Of course, in Japan there is a custom,  that when you go to someones home you always bless the house with a simple gift of some kind.  That you never go empty handed.  In Yamagata it was my home away from home.   And in a way, we, on earth are not yet home.  And when we do graduate, what will we take with us to share in our new home in heaven.  In 1955 I was saved on the verses in 1 Cor.3:11-16 in consideration of this subject and foundations.  Might be wise to check them out.

Jesus had much to teach HIS disciples about the  Welcome Home Mat.      “If  [the family living in] the house is worthy [welcoming you and your message], give it your [blessing of] [a]peace [that is, a blessing of well-being and prosperity, the favor of God]. But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing  of peace.  14 Whoever does not welcome you, nor listen to your message, as you leave that house or city, [b]shake the dust [of it] off your feet [in contempt, breaking all ties].  15 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of [c]Sodom and Gomorrah than for that city [since it rejected the Messiah’s messenger].  Matt.10:13-15.  This teaching is also mentioned in Luke 9:5 & 10:11,  Acts 13:51 so an interesting subject.  So it appears that we are to take the Gospel of Christ Jesus with us as a gift from God where ever we go.  And if any do not receive that gift, to shake the dust from our feet and keep on trucking.

It seems that if we can not take Jesus along with us where ever we go that the place should also not become our comfort zone.  We tend to become like the folks that we associate with.  So HOME SWEET HOME should be deeply embedded in our hearts to be where our Heavenly Father is.  And of course, we are reminded 5 times in the New Testament that a Prophet is not without honor except in HIS hometown and among his relatives, do it is rare if you are living for Jesus and are also totally comfortable at home.  And, I do remember my 1st home very well where I was born.  But later I went back and it had burned down and another house built on the foundation.  Just not the same.  Nothing on this earth will remain the same.  Families get old and die off, new building become old with rusty roofs and leaks.

So try to get it into your heart that we are born here on earth to get potty trained to ber able to live with God.  That the world is temporary but that our soul is eternal.  And none of this world can we take with us except what we decide to send ahead.  So look for your WELCOME HOME Mat to be in HEAVEN with our Creator…  And not down here.  This world is only a very smelly gym where people are.  If it does not kill you,  it will make you stronger.

LIFE

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

LIFE,    “WORTH CONSIDERING’   7/29/19     (Across my desk today)

Today’s Scripture
“My times are in Your hand…”(Psalm 31:15, NASB)

Trust His Timing
One thing I’ve learned is that God doesn’t always work on our timetable. In fact, He rarely does. But in a single moment, God can change your life! All throughout Scripture, we see examples of how God was working behind the scenes and instantly turned things around for His people. Scripture tells us He is the same yesterday, today and forever, which means if He did it for them, He can instantly turn things around for you, too!

You may be going through some difficulty today, but be encouraged because your times are in God’s hands. Trust that He has your best interest at heart. He wants to pour out His favor. He wants to take you further than you dreamed possible and work in your life in ways beyond what you have ever imagined. And while you’re waiting, don’t try to figure everything out. That’s only going to frustrate you.

Let this truth sink down into your heart today. Resist discouragement by speaking His Word over your future. Keep standing, keep hoping and keep believing because He is working behind the scenes. Have faith because your times are in His hands, and He will lead you in the life of victory He has for you!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, today I humbly come before You giving You all that I am. I trust that my times are in Your hands. I trust that You are working things out in my favor. I set my focus on You knowing that You are working things out for my good in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
It is amazing how much in a hurry we can be about getting stuff done ASAP….  Have you ever noticed how much of that stuff done under stress, falls out of the bottom of things and we have to do it all over again,  even marriages.    As I am getting older and even with time going by so very fast now,  I find it very comfortable to simply wait upon the LORD.  Isaiah had some wonderful things to say about that subject:
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:  31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 50:30-31.”

The writer of Hebrews (Paul,  I believe) puts it this way: Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.  For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.  3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.”  Heb.4:1-3.

The Sabbath was supposed to be a day set aside to learn how to hear GOD and to become obedient to HIM.   Like the time God spent with Adam before the fall where God was teaching Adam to become like HIM.  Unfortunately for Adam and for us Adam made poor choices and the world ended up in a mess.  So we have freewill in order to have real love and you must learn to love to make it to light speed for GOD is LOVE.  So Adam tried to skip a few classes and do it his way.  The results of his poor choice is all around us today.  But we have been offered forgiveness through making Christ Jesus LORD.   And we have been given the opportunity to learn how to enter into HIS rest,  hear HIS voice in our soul, and be guided by HIS Holy Spirit each day in HIS REST and learn to allow HIS LIFE to flow through us.

So if you, through the Holy Spirit will put to death the deeds of the flesh,  GOD’S WORD teaches us we will live.  Rom.8:13   The Greek word for live here is ZAO (God’s Life) =  Greek/Hebrew Definitions. Strong’s #2198: zao (pronounced dzah’-o) a primary verb; to live (literally or figuratively):–life(-time), (a-)live(-ly), quick. Thayer’s Greek Lexicon: ́. zaō. 1) to live, breathe, be among the living (not lifeless (John 3:3), not dead) 2) to enjoy real life.

So in GOD our soul is eternal,  a hundred years from now, what is going to matter?  Only what we have sent ahead in Christ Jesus.
