AUTHORITY,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”    1/4/01     From Ken Smith<><

None of us like authority, we all tend, by our Adamic human nature to want the master of our own destiny and the Authority of all that we survey.   In fact we think it is the safest spot to be in the top drawer even though it is furthest from the floor.  Of course the conflict comes when we start to realize that in authority, we are not.  And so we give it our best shot to at least keep some control of our own life and the space around us.  But guess what, Our Creator God is on the throne of the heavens and is in the process of wanting to teach us love, humility and obedience so HE can really give us some authority to be there for HIM.   He has great plans for us but the way UP is DOWN.   “Before honor is humility.”  He must first teach us obedience.  We are in a school of hard knocks to teach us humility and obedience.   How are you doing???

and the necessary process to help the flock come to be like their Shepherd.

The Early Church has this expression of faith to consider:

and above all, Love

The present Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1, John 20:28, Heb. 1:8 9), the Word of God Himself made man in Christ Jesus (Col. 1:16. Compare Gen. 1:1). Who “laid the foundation of the earth” (Heb. 1:10 12 & 2:7-18. Compare with 1 John 5:7 and John 1:1.)
The Virgin Birth (Isaiah 7:14, Mt. 1:23, Luke 1:27).
The Blood Atonement (Acts 20:28, Rom. 3:25, Rom. 5:9, Eph. 1:7).
The Bodily Resurrection (Luke 24:36 46, 1 Cor. 15:1 4, 1 Cor. 15:14 15).
The Second Advent of Christ Jesus to set up His Kingdom (Isa. 9:6,7, Rev. 19 )
The inerrantcy of the Holy Scriptures themselves (Psalms 12:6 7, Rom. 15:4, 2Tim. 3:16 17, 2Pet. 1:20). *

*This is a reference for folks who claim to have revelations apart from the Holy Scriptures and which can not be supported by Holy Scripture.  We among ourselves, we may vigorously debate other items, such as the merits or means of baptism, the validity of various Bible translations, the authority of the Presbytery, etc.   Such quests for truth in love are totally acceptable within the confines of Christianity because our salvation does not rest upon those doctrines.  

The Following Positions of doctrines seem to be considered foundational.

Our Creator is manifested in a Trinity of, God the Father, God the Word and God the Holy       Spirits  similar to water as liquid, ice and vapor but all H20.   This essence of God’s nature is found in 1 Jn.5:7.   Love, Holiness, and Power may be seen in these three manifestations of God as in the Evangelical, Sacramental and Charismatic expressions of faith but without the balance of each other tends to become indulgent, sanctimonious and perhaps even a carnival. The Word of God created Jesus who was born of a virgin as the second Adam, a perfect man.  The world under God’s judgment of sin loved the world and gave us Jesus as the lamb of God to take away the sin of the world.   Jesus died in our place and was raised from the dead by the power of God for our justification and He shall come again as Jesus the Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords and His reign shall be forever, Isa.9:6, Isa. 52 & 53, Ps. 22

Disciples may also be filled with the Holy Spirit and learn to enjoy the fruit, gifts, and ministries of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit can give the grace and power to live a holy life and to minister the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.   Anyone who truly walks in faith and love and make Jesus Christ the LORD and King of Kings in their lives. Roman chapters 8-12 and become eternal citizens of the Kingdom of God  through faith,
love, humility and obedience.

Events are closing for the final judgment in the history of mankind. Those who have yielded to Jesus as Lord will become His brethren in the eternal family of God.  Those who reject the Lordship of Jesus and the forgiveness offered by God and live an egocentric life will be separated from God’s presence, creation and light and exiled into isolation and outer darkness for eternity. God will not force anyone to come under the authority of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Freewill is most precious in God’s creation and all souls are eternal. Our choice in time is to learn to want to live with Him in light. To reject His light it might be good to read the little Book of Jude.

AN EXPANDED CONFESSION OF FAITH:

I confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord, Master, and Savior. By faith in Christ Jesus, I am forgiven, cleansed, healed and made a citizen of His eternal kingdom. Jesus Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law of sin, sickness, weakness and eternal death through His death on the cross for me. I believe in the Trinity of one God: Almighty Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Creator made flesh, The Word of God who was begotten as the second Adam. He was born of a virgin, died for my sins, rose for my justification and is coming again soon, in great glory, to establish His Kingdom on earth. I believe in the new birth from above, the baptism in water, and the baptism in the Holy Spirit. I confess that the blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed me from all my sin and I am now made the righteousness of God in and through Christ Jesus. I confess that I can do all things through Christ who is my strength as I abide in Him. I confess that this world is not my home. I confess that I am a pilgrim in a foreign land and I look for that certain return of my Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. I confess that there is but one holy universal and apostolic Church of Jesus Christ and all those who are born from above are brethren and citizens of His kingdom. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is being perfected by the Holy Spirit through the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers and other ministries of His Church until all the faithful come into the unity of the faith and the bond of peace and are changed into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ, (Eph. 4:1 16.)

AUTHORITY   

As per scripture and the history of the very early Church:
The qualifications for Bishops (Elders, Overseers, Eph.4:11) are clearly laid out in 1 Tim.3:1 7, Titus 1:5 16 and Deacons (Servants of the Church) 1 Tim.3:8 13.

Concerning “Proving or Trying” 1 Tim.3:10 This indicates that the calling of God made room for the acknowledgment of ministry and not the other way around. It is the fruit that determines the kind of tree and not the name pasted on the tree.

Concerning “Elders/Bishops/Overseers” Titus 1:5 & 7 Here Paul uses the words Elder and Bishop as the same. The concept is one who oversees our Lord Jesus Christ for the Holy Spirit.

The Apostolic “company” of Eph.4:11 are for “Elders” in general but specifically are “Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers” for the perfecting of the saints. The Greek word for Overseer is Bishop. So these Elders are the servant consensual authority on earth for a local area Church of our Lord Jesus Christ hopefully guided by the Holy Spirit.  They are not a dictatorship nor a democracy. They are the stewards of the Kingdom of God while the King is away. There is usually a first among equals who is the moderator and takes care that the decisions of the council are all in loving influence. Great care is given for the unity of the faith in the bond of peace as unity is more important that action. Therefore great care must be given in selecting the Elders/Bishops/Overseers/Apostolic Company as there is a need for pure holy unity in the Holy Spirit or nothing eternal may happen.  I can find no validation for women being “Elders” in the New Testament Church.  Also the tradition of the church to use a democratic voting system among the congregation is not Biblical and falls under the condemnation of Laodicea in Rev. 3:14 22 and the other excess is the dictatorship of Rev.17 & 18.  A prophesy concerning the counterfeit church.


The Early Church seem to have 5 layers of teaching and ministry:
1.    The Elder with an assistant (Deacon) whom he was mentoring.

2.    The local weekly “House Church” gathering.

3,    The local  “Eldership Council” for guiding the local church in a given community area to speak the truth in love and unity.

4,    The local community gathering of Christians to a given place of all the “House Churches” to consider the ministry of an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist or Teacher.

5.    The gathering of the Presiding Elders to an international gathering to keep the unity of the faith in the bond of peace so as to have no confusion in the Church of Christ Jesus.

And I am open to suggestions in love to consider making this statement more accurate.

JJESUS, SON OF MAN & GOD

JESUS, SON OF MAN & GOD.   “WORTH CONSIDERING”    1/1/21

Often, Jesus would ask, “Whom do you think that I AM.”   I have come to see Jesus as both the Son of Man and Son of God.   But son of man is not taught much.

In Gen. 1:26 Moses writes, that God said: “26 God said, Let Us [Father, Word, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.  27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.

And personally,   I like that vision and purpose but obviously God is creating a spiritual entity as HE is supernaturally Spiritual.   And creating a soul to be placed into a physical body so to be independent at the same time.   It was like a total computer with no program or hard drive.  And in the basics of the creation is freewill as that also is part of God’s nature.  So then what?  The programming starts with God walking and talking to Adam and teaching him and giving him projects and a wife to help him and keep him company.   And, Oh yes, the freewill.   In order to exercise a free will so it will grow there has to be a no, somewhere, right?   So one tree out of hundreds was a no to eat from or die.  Life trees everywhere, one death tree.   And seems like it belonged to lucifer, the angel that made the world into a wilderness, (Isa. 14:17) and probably was the cause of the void and darkness in Gen.1:2?  And he is still hanging around with his minions (Eph. 6:12)  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  And we don’t get ride of him until Rev. 12:11 when the church gets to boot him and his minions from the heavens to earth.  “ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.  12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”  Bet you thought he was already in hell?  No, our Creator is using him to make us stronger.  Like a gym, the weights either kill you are make you stronger.

So with Jesus, Son of Man, Second Adam he came into this world to show us how to overcome.  Adam could have done that but Eve and the Forbidden fruit was too much for him and killed him.  Disconnected him from God.   But The Word of God had prepared for Jesus and there was a world of anointed scripture for Jesus to consume and to grow by.  Even at 12 he was onto it and leaning all that HE could.. Isa.52:13-15, & 53 with Psalms 22: tell much about the Messiah to come that Jesus read about.   I am sure he knew the mall.     351 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled  https://www.newtestamentchristians.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/351-Old-Testament-Prophecies-Fulfilled-in-Jesus-Christ1.pdf   And most would have been impossible for him to fulfill on his own.  An amazing story for a little boy growing up with 6 other children in the family of Mary and Joseph.

So,   I am seeing the Word of God as the creator in Gen.1 of all things as per John 1:1-3.   In Isa. 61:1 the prophesy was the “Spirit of God” would be upon HIM (Jesus) as He also quoted in Luke 4:18.  and HE acknowledged was true.   And that Jesus was totally the Son of Man and did not merge or Eternally Join with the Word of God until the Resurrection.   He was first tested or tried and went through what we may go though.  Heb.2:16-18.   Jesus was hungry, tired, cried, was tempted, Upset with his disciples,  prayed for Grace, and was killed.   All totally human.  And He also learn obedience by the things HE suffered.  (Heb.5:8)   He was also a deep student of the O.T. and knew all of the Messianic Prophesies as considered above.   So for me the humanity of Jesus in doing what he did as a man with the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Word of God) being upon HIM gives me more faith to expect to be able to do what HE did as also a man.   So in context sometimes like in John 8 it is the Word of God speaking through Jesus prophetically and sometime like on the mount of olives, we hear Jesus speaking about HIS own will…. “Not my will, but thy will be done.  On the cross it was Jesus crying out,  Father, Father why hast thou forsaken me?”  Some things Jesus admitting not knowing,  but the Word of God, would have known all things….  So it is very similar to us learning to walk and be full of the Holy Spirit so that what we say is from God and not from us.

But as the Lamb of God after the sacrifice was made Jesus has become GOD/MAN is in Matt 28:18,  of Gen.1  It was in the resurrection that Jesus proclaimed:  “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”  So in John 17:22  “And the glory which thou gravest me (Jesus as the Son of Man) I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.”    So essentially we have the same authority that Jesus had in his earthly ministry with faith.  And potentially the same way of life transition that HE made into being GOD/Man.  As the way is also available to us if we will lay our-er life down and empty of self authority for it.   It is the Precious Promise that if we die to this world, John 12:24-24.  We also can then become joint heirs with Christ Jesus in the Kingdom of God which HE received from God our Father Almighty.  And this was due to HIS loving faith and obedience.  So we also need to learn to become fully obedient in following HIS example.  The Christ Jesus of Rev. 1, 4-5,  19-22 is our KING (Master)

I really like what Jesus had John write in Rev. 2:26-27 about by HIS grace of us becoming an over comer and to rule with HIM with a rod of iron.   As also noted in Rev. 12:5.  Also fits well with John 12:24-26…..

NEWS YEARS EVE 2021,   “WORTH CONSIDERING” 12/31/20    From Ken Smith <><

When living at Pleasant Hill, Oregon about 15 miles south of Eugene I owned a big red house that I built on 15 acres or orchard lands.  I had a big summer single season garden and my son David was good friends with the son of Ken Kesey of the Grateful Dead, Merry Pranksters and wrote the book, “One Flew over the cuckoos’s Nest.,”   And though I was a very out spoken Christian at the time we got along really great, I would spend time at his 20 ac. farm and he would bring his big family over for Mexican.  Got a lot of good stories about the time.  But the one that I really enjoy the most was one New Years Eve like tomorrow, I got it in mind to really make a big bang.   And I had about 20′ of Primer Cord for cutting down small trees and one big stick of rock dynamite left (equal to about 4 normal sticks of dynamite.   So I wrapped the Primer Cord around the big stick of dynamite and stuck a fuse detonator cap on 12″ of dynamite fuse and sunk it into the big stick of dynamite.  It was about 6″ in diameters and 12″ long.  A Monster Bomb.

So after dinner I took off for Ken’s farm as I knew that it would make a memorable New Years Eve.   So we talked for awhile when I got to the farm and as the night got to about midnight I told Ken I had some noise to set off at midnight.   He got excited and said, “Go get it.”  And I did. and when I came back from my Truck and he saw it he became very excited.  Usually way laid back but this bomb got his attention.  So he quickly ask me if I would mind if he lit it off at midnight.  And I said fine, go for it.  Well the first thing he did when he got it in his hand was to tell me that the fuse was too long and cut it down to 6 inches (30) seconds and that was OK.  But this his good buddy took out his knife and cut it down to about 3″ or (15) seconds and not always exact.  Now I am getting a little concerned.  And Ken, not to be out done with this little game of macho war, cut it off at about a ½ inch ( 4 sec.?) from going into the dynamite.   At this time I am now in serious retreat towards the barn from this stupidity.  No way to stop it though.  So at the stroke of midnight, Ken held the bomb over to his friend to light in a good throwing position.  His good buddy lit the fuse and away it went.  Then both of those guys dove over the top of a big pile to get on the other side from the explosion.  Well that thing went off as expected and rattled window for a 1/4 mile and all the dogs were barking for miles.  Everyone clapping.  What they forgot was that on 12/30 each year was barn cleaning day and the pile that they dove into was a years worth of chicken, pig, horse and rabbit manure.  They both came up out of that pile like a really funny cartoon and had to head for the showers.  Instantly the verse came to mind, “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a great fall.”  Even tonight as I am writing this down I had to again laugh out loud at how the LORD knows exactly how we tick and loves us anyway and will take us home to live with HIM if we will accept HIS terms for living in HIS new home and not mess up the place.

So seems much of our home life and our church life is our little ego in pride, only making a shorter fuse and forgetting the truth about the barn cleaning and diving into the manure of this world.  I know that both of those guys knew what that pile was and perhaps even helped to put it there.  But in the pride and competition they totally forgot.  Of course it was also rather dark but anyone breathing definitely knew it was there. 

Even in our Churches and homes pride, rebellion, anger, selfishness, divisions and competition may in charge and get us into trouble.  Our little ego works overtime to be “Top Gun” and in fear look like we have it together when really we don’t.  Jesus taught a lot about working on the outside and us forgetting that it is only the inside that really counts.  Only our sanctified eternal soul can be changed to make the jump to light speed to live with the God of Light.  This present body or house that we now live in is only made to last about 120 years if we take good care of it, Gen. 6:3.    I look at the ages in the Obit column once in a while, and very rarely do I find someone older than me now when they die.  Then what?   Expect the Creator to make a brand new body and world for someone who is really a major part of the problem and refused HIS help?   Would it be wise to allow the destructive forces that are now quarantined in this solar system loose in all of the Galaxies?  Got to be kidding.  In Psalms 2 we find this written: “11 Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him].   12 Kiss the Son [pay homage to Him in purity], lest He be angry and you perish in the way, for soon shall His wrath be kindled. O blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are all those who seek refuge and put their trust in Him!”     Might want to do a word study on WRATH as seems it could be happening in the very near future.  The word WRATH is used over 261 times in our Bible.  You might just want to find out what makes our Creator wrathful in time to make some adjustments?  Just might want to avoid the manure pile by learning just how to kiss the SON before the bomb goes off.   39 verses in the New Testament on the Wrath of God.

In the 57 major cities for which data are available, the murder rate is up an average of 36.7%. Murder went up in 51 cities, and down in only six cities. Murder is up 74.1% in Seattle, 72.3% in Minneapolis, 55.5% in Chicago, 54.1% in Boston, 39.2% in New York, 34.5% in St. Louis, and 30.4% in Los Angeles.     Luke Letlow, the U.S. congressman-elect from Louisiana, died Tuesday of COVID-19 after being hospitalized, state officials confirmed.      Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) announced on Wednesday that he will oppose the certification of President-elect Joe Biden when Congress meets on Jan. 6 to certify the electoral college results.     The current lockdown is going to destroy the State of Israel and devastate more lives than COVID-19 itself.    As proof of COVID-19 vaccination may eventually be required for traveling abroad or for entering many public spaces at home, technology groups are developing smartphone systems for users to upload their vaccine certificate and show them where needed, CNN Business reports.     Amid rising tensions with Iran, the U.S. military flew two nuclear-capable B-52 bombers to the Middle East Wednesday, the military confirmed. In a statement monitored by Worthy News, the U.S. Central Command overseeing military operations in the region said the flights were “to underscore the U.S. military’s commitment to regional security.”

Nothing that happens this coming year can threaten your union with Messiah Yeshua, the Lord Jesus Christ, if indeed, He dwells with you. He is the embodiment of Love, and “there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear;” [ 1 John 4:18 ]. Daniel prophesied of the end days that “those who know their God will display strength and take action;” [ Daniel 11:32 ]. So, whatever the coming days call for, consider yourself equipped! Go out with joy, be led forth with peace….and a very happy and blessed New Year!

Armed with Strength for Battle
God knows every battle, every temptation, and every obstacle you will ever face. He has not only put it under your feet, but He has armed you with strength for that battle. You are a warrior, a victor and not a victim. He has already equipped you. You are full of can-do power. Quit telling yourself, “This is too much. I can’t handle it.” The greatest force in the universe is breathing in your direction. Tap into more of that power. Start declaring, “I can handle this. I am well able. I can do all things through Christ. I am strong in the Lord.” Put your shoulders back, look those obstacles in the eye, and say, “You’re no match for me. I know your end has already been set, and it’s just a matter of time before God turns it around. It’s just a matter of time before He brings that dream to pass.”

    

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for arming me with strength for every battle that I will ever face. Thank You that You have already equipped me with power as a warrior and destined me for victory. I declare that I am strong and can do all things through Christ. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts:
Of course this special section of scripture was about David from God due to David’s obedience to what God had told David to do.   And David goes on to confess that the Messiah (Jesus to come) was his“Rock” in verse 47 and the “Rock” of David’s salvation.  And that David sang Psalms to God.  A little earlier in verse 22 David records that at that time he was clean and the LORD delighted in David and David was keeping himself from iniquity and “Therefore” God was allowing the reaping to match the sowing.   Also read Isaiah 28:16  about the rock….

But to assume that this is a rubber stamp for everyone is more like the concept of positive thinking.  Sure if you have all of the David’s positive factors working in your free will as David did at the time you can expect God’s blessings in what you do.  But if you don’t have the groundwork in your life that David did, it will not work for anyone.  You can not expect to have David’s blessings without David’s humility and obedience.   Some times folks have shared in confidence that they felt that they had a thorn in the flesh as did Apostle Paul at one time (later Paul was delivered.)  And I often ask those folks if their name was Paul.  That was specifically written by Paul about Paul.  The promises of God are provisional, always.  He feelings have shown HIS great love for us in Christ Jesus.   But it only become valid for us when we make Christ Jesus LORD.   In order to have the victory in Romans chapter 8 you must meet the conditions in Romans 1-8.  Real Godly Faith like in Heb. 11 and always has related action.  As also James confirms.  If interested in this subject you need to read the little letters of James and Jude.   Now the James who wrote this little letter grew up with Jesus as a son of Mary and Joseph.  He was not James the Apostle but James “The Less.”   He is the James in Acts 15 guiding the Jerusalem Church at that time.  Note in James 1:12    “12 Blessed (happy, [c] to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.  13 Let no one say “when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one.  14 But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions).  15 Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death.  16 Do not be misled, my beloved brethren.

So, who really, is responsible for being blessable by God and who is not.  Really our Heavenly Father wants us all to be full of joy all the time.   In fact HE shares this with us, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.   2 Tim.1:7   So really if these blessings are not being freely carried through us, we are missing out.    And we read in Rom. 8:5, “5 For those who are living according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and [d] pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are living according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and [e] seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.” 11 And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.” “14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.” “36 Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors [m] and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

NATIONAL IDENTITY,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”   12/30/20     From Ken Smith<><

When a boy in the 7th grade in Tonkawa, Oklahoma my dad was a Sargent in the Army and stationed at a German prisoner of war camp in the area.  They were placed on trains in the East Coast with painted windows so when they got off of the 2-3 day ride they had no knowledge of where in the world that were.  During that time I wanted to join the Boy Scouts and get a belt with all of the patches.  For initiation the other scouts pants the other initiates, they could not get my belt buckle loose (Army) and hung their paints up a 30′ flag pole and tied the rope so very difficult to get down.  That was the end of my Boy Scout Identity.  And there were other things I joined like lodges and churches and choirs.  Seems like the world is full of stuff to join good or bad.  The reason for this is there is power in a united identity.  Back in the Old Testament the universal formal National Identity is shared with us by Moses in Gen. 11:3-7 concerning Babel.   “3 And they said one to another, Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly. So they had brick for stone, and slime (bitumen) for mortar.  4 And they said, Come, let us build us a city and a tower whose top reaches into the sky, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered over the whole earth.   5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.   6 And the Lord said, Behold, they are one people and they have [a] all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do, and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them.   7 Come, let Us go down and there confound (mix up, confuse) their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.   8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from that place upon the face of the whole earth, and they gave up building the city.

This portion of scripture is very interesting for me for it shows how strong unity can become for either Good or Evil.  Notice that God said, “Behold, they are one people and they have [a] all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do, and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them. “   So God split them up and they could no longer work together.  So guess who also knows this truth of God?

So also notice how the enemy has managed to divide the church into many denominations so that little of what God wants to do can come to pass.   John even recorded the only prayer we have and it is about UNITY.  John 17.   We would rather agree to disagree and walk away then to in LOVE find God’s real Truth and in that Truth and the Word of God  find loving unity and power.  Over and over and over I find ministries and ministers who love their denomination but don’t love Jesus enough to study that prayer in John 17.   In fact, in the my life as a Christian for 65 years, I have never heard a sermon preached on John 17 as a prayer of Jesus that our Heavenly Father will surely answer.

Our country has been deeply blessed in the past due to the basic essentials of the Christian faith being buried deep in the fabric and foundations of the people in our nation.   However, today, the Church is fully under attack and doors are permanently closing all over the Country due to this attack.   And why.  “Divide and Conquer.”  There is no basic unity.   The lack of unity in the churches in China added to the take over by atheistic Communism.  The same effort is coming against the U.S. in this election.  Many do not at all see the big picture of what is happening due to us Christians being asleep at the switch.  And if we are going to win our Country back from Socialism we are going to need to see it for what it is and find a solid UNITY in God’s Truth.

Due to our lack of concern for the lost ,  and our friendship with the world system eventually Jesus is seen in Laodicea Rev. 3:14 as being on the outside of HIS own church knocking to get in.  But it does not need to happen today.  In the middle of the Great Tribulation the antichrist has great power to deceive and no one will be able to buy or sale without his mark on the right hand or forehead.  Rev.13:17.   So eventually he will win but perhaps not today.   And when he does there are strong indications in Holy Scripture that the Church will already be gone.  So if you want to be more able to stand against the enemy of our souls we must also yield to finding God’s Pure Truth in Loving Unity.  We must see that there in no place in God’s Truth for division.  That differences are really great  opportunities for love and finding more of God’s Truth and Power.   In pray in John 17:20-23  Jesus prays for us:     “ Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching,   21 That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.  22 I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one:  23  I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.  This is extremely important, consider the Unity factor of John 17 for POWER, No Unity, NO POWER.   GLORY here means POWER as in John 2:11 WATER INTO WINE = POWER     Notice also that in 17:22 That the Glory/Power comes with finding Unity.   Want to see God’s Power to save, heal and deliver, Find God’s Loving Unity with others in HIS Truth.

Actually this could be our last opportunity to have a legal vote counted.  We now appear to have two parties one mostly moral and the other mostly immoral.  It does not take much poison to make a glass of milk not good for you.   And our choices this year appear to be between which side has the least amount of poison. This Country was founded as a Christian Republic and many of the signers of the Constitution were Christian ministers.  Most were Christian but they did not want the state to control religion as in Europe so they tried to prevent the State from having any influence.   But they did not see the possibility of the State excluding the Christian influence from our society and schools and government.  So now we have a society where even the history of Christianity in our school system is frowned upon and the religion of atheism is widely taught.  So our society has been growing up with an ethical vacuum and our Government today seems to have lost its moral compass.   Paul had something serious to say about this. Romans 13,  Amplified     “Let every person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God’s appointment.  2 Therefore he who resists and sets himself up against the authorities resists what God has appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And those who resist will bring down judgment upon themselves [receiving the penalty due them].  3 For civil authorities are not a terror to [people of] good conduct, but to [those of] bad behavior. Would you have no dread of him who is in authority? Then do what is right and you will receive his approval and commendation.  4 For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, [you should dread him and] be afraid, for he does not bear and wear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant to execute His wrath (punishment, vengeance) on the wrongdoer.  5 Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God’s wrath and escape punishment, but also as a matter of principle and for the sake of conscience.  6 For this same reason you pay taxes, for [the civil authorities] are official servants under God, devoting themselves to attending to this very service.  7 Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.  8 Keep out of debt and owe no man anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor [who practices loving others] has fulfilled the Law [relating to one’s fellowmen, meeting all its requirements].  9 The commandments, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet (have an evil desire), and any other commandment, are summed up in the single command, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.  10 Love does no wrong to one’s neighbor [it never hurts anybody]. Therefore love meets all the requirements and is the fulfilling of the Law.  11 Besides this you know what [a critical] hour this is, how it is high time now for you to wake up out of your sleep (rouse to reality). For salvation (final deliverance) is nearer to us now than when we first believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Christ, the Messiah).  12 The night is far gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop (fling away) the works and deeds of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light.  13 Let us live and conduct ourselves honorably and becomingly as in the [open light of] day, not in reveling (carousing) and drunkenness, not in immorality and debauchery (sensuality and licentiousness), not in quarreling and jealousy.  14 But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [ put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature ] to [gratify its] desires (lusts).”

So, really, with our form of government, We The People, unless we take the time to figure out who is more ethical than the other and vote for the overview of ethics and morality we will get what we deserve.  Seems to me that a lot of the So Called Christians have allowed the atheist and unethical  to take over our country.   This Election represents the degree of moral ethics for the whole government.  Frankly, seems to me, that the Washington swamp still needs to be drained and the dangerous critters removed.   That this is no longer a government “For The People.”

While in my school at Elkhorn Grade School in 1939 the 10 Commandment was posted by the light switch by my classroom door.   We had opening prayer, sang songs and hymns of choice, no restrictions.  Said the pledge of allegiance including GOD.  And God and Christ Jesus could be included in any form of study during the day without fear.  Hope you can see by this the moral failure that our nation has taken.  And this was in Kentucky which was an open carry state at the time and guns were considered only a tool for having a good pot of stew at the end of the day.
Pray that we have another opportunity to bring this country back into a moral consciousness.

FIREWORKS       “WORTH CONSIDERING”   12/27/20      From Ken Smith<><

Not sure why, but from a very little kid I have loved the Big Boom.  Seems I was brought up that way as my Dad always loved the 4th of July and New Years Eve.   I can remember at our little general everything store in Frankfort, Kentucky out on the main road from Frankfort to Lexington my Dad had a little store called   “TryService”   He had a double gas pump out front  with a little cement curb around it and a gravel driveway for parking in front of the store.  The building had a full basement and had two bedrooms in the attic with stairs down the center of the building.  I was in the 1st grade at the time at Elkhorn Grade School about ½ mile up the hill on the south.  The gas pumps were the old kind with the 10 gal. glass container at the time so you first filled the container to the gallons to be sold and them opened a valve and gravity did the work of putting the gas in the tank. .19 ½ cents per gallon at the time.  

So Dad would get in all kinds of firework to sale and in order to get more business would be busting them out next to the gas pumps.   This is about 1939 and no one really was concerned at all.  After all the only hard surface for busting off torpedoes was the cement around the gas pumps.  He had M-80’s and roman candles and bottle rockets and big strings of firecrackers and the place would smell of black powder all night long, I really was in heaven. 

In Hawaii the Chinese New Year and the Western New Year are celebrated on the same evening so in a few more days there will again be the smell of black powder but not nearly the noise of my experience.  But in the universe as we look around at how things are made and changed it would seem that the Creator may also like a big bang once in a while.  Jesus mentions it in Matt.24:6-8 as earthquakes which also includes volcanic action as well.  In fact let me quote the verses for you: “6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.  7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in place after place;
8 All this is but the beginning [the early pains] of the [a] birth pangs [of the [b] intolerable anguish].   So as we look around today what is going on in the world.  In the King James Bible Pestilence is also mentioned… (Covid 19 ?)  False-Christ, Persecutions, Wars, Famines, Earthquakes….  Birth Pains for what?  Luke also writes about this in Luke 13 and Mark in Mark 21 So it must be very important for the generation that finds themselves in that time zone.  So as I study these 3 points of view about what Jesus shared as future events in order to answer the questions of the disciples we get an overview picture of what will be happening just before the Lord returns for HIS Church and to not be fearful or concerned.  Of course if you are not a part of HIS Church that could be a problem.  So I have added my small 11 page paper concerning these events if you are further interested.

But again, when I understand how the universe is made and the collisions that occur even to our little blue planet it would seem that our Heavenly Creator enjoys colors, explosions and a massive show of energy.   Use to do a little logging with my son David and in putting in a small road there were lots of stumps.   No houses around so used dynamite.   Put 8 sticks under a 3′ stump and it would jump out of the ground about 12′ feet in the air or so, use to love doing that.  Still tempted to make some real noise this New Years but might not be a good witness to end up in jail again, especially at my age.
So seems where I am going with the Sunday/Monday note is that Our Wonderful Creator also loves to make the stars dance and has invited us to join with him like me and my Dad at the front of TryService for some eternal fun and joy and fireworks but we have to decide to learn to mind.

My Dad was very careful of what he allowed  me to do and to have fun with him I needed to mind.  And I learned and still have all of my fingers on both hands so it is neat to be able to write to you tonight about all this.

Personally I believe in a Big Bang when our Creator took some of HIS energy and converted it into matter and atoms and galaxies and solar systems and planets and into you and me.  I have no issues as to a 7 day solar day week as is not spelled out.  Plants were on the 3rd day and Sun/moon and stars were available to be seen on the 4th day.   It takes 13.26 billion light-years for light to reach earth from   MACS0647-JD   the farthest known galaxy from the Earth based on the photo-metric redshift. It has a redshift of about z = 10.7, equivalent to a light travel distance of 13.26 billion light-years (4 billion parsecs).  Our Creator does not live in our dimension of time,  With Him there is no beginning and no end and no floor, walls or ceiling in HIS dimension.  Time is not a factor.  Between Gen.1:1 and Gen1:2, Something happened that was catastrophic as God who is LIGHT did not create darkness and void.  Isaiah writes about this.  Isa.14:16-24 And Ezekiel 28:18-19 backs this up.   Adam was given the world and commanded to subdue it and to replenish it.  And to not eat of the tree of good and evil.  In rebellion and pride he exercised his free will to defy his Creator.  That did not work out very well for him or his kids, who are us.  Or for the planted as we really take a good look and what is going on around us.  So I leave you with that thought to make a report card and give yourself marks as to hand to Jesus in the judgment.  I have had to go to summer school twice to catch up and graduate on time.

David Sinklen:  I was admitted to the ICU of a lovely good hospital in Lake Oswego Oregon. Today is a very special day as Curtis Kahale is being ordained into the Church of Christ Jesus as a Kahu ( Hawaiian for Pastor )   Please be in prayer for Curtis if you will as the potential for an awakening of the Hawaiian People by the Holy Spirit through Curtis is a very bright potential.

So today we are headed into some uncharted waters with the Holy Spirit.  So I need lots of wisdom in just being able to know the will of the Holy Spirit  for all of the details.  Not even sure where to  gather as our little TrueVine farm has no real holy place as yet like a chapel or such?  Any way the Holy Spirit is in charge,  I will let you know later how it all went.

Statement of Faith

It is the responsibility of the Overseers/Bishops of a gathering
place of our Lord’s Flock to help provide:
Protection, Sound Doctrine, Fellowship, Instruction
and the necessary process to help the flock come to be like their Shepherd.
as guided by the Holy Spirit of God.

The following teaching of our Lord and His Apostles
are seen as the very “Essentials”
of the Christian faith for unity.

Essentials for Affiliation
There are six basics of the Christian faith, which are essential for salvation and upon which all Christians must agree.

The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1, John 20:28, Heb. 1:8 9), the Creator God Himself (Col. 1:16. Compare Gen. 1:1). Who “laid the foundation of the earth” (Heb. 1:10 12. Compare Psalms 102:24 27).
The Virgin Birth (Isaiah 7:14, Mt. 1:23, Luke 1:27).
The Blood Atonement (Acts 20:28, Ro. 3:25, Ro. 5:9, Eph. 1:7).
The Bodily Resurrection (Luke 24:36 46, 1 Cor. 15:1 4, 1 Cor. 15:14 15).
The Second Advent of Christ Jesus to set up His Kingdom (Isa. 9:6,7, Rev. 19 )
The inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures themselves (Psalms 12:6 7, Ro. 15:4, 2Tim. 3:16 17, 2Pet. 1:20). This is a reference to people who claim to have revelations apart from the Holy Scriptures and which can not be supported by Holy Scripture.  So among ourselves, we may vigorously debate other items, such as the merits or means of baptism, the validity of various Bible translations, the authority of the Presbytery, etc. Such quests for truth in love are totally acceptable within the confines of Christianity because our salvation does not rest upon those doctrines.

The Following Positions of doctrines are also considered foundational by

God is manifested in a Trinity of, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit similar to water as liquid, solid and vapor. This essence of God’s nature is found in 1 Jn.5:7. Love, Holiness, and Power may be seen in these three manifestations of God as in the Evangelical, Sacramental and Charismatic expressions of faith and without the balance of each other they tend to become indulgent, sanctimonious and perhaps even a carnival. The Word of God became flesh and was born of a virgin. Under God’s judgment of sin, Jesus died in our place and was raised from the dead by the power of God for our justification and He shall come again as Jesus the Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords and His reign shall be forever, Isa.9:6.

Disciples may also be filled with the Holy Spirit and learn to enjoy the fruit, gifts, and ministries of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit can give the grace and power to live a holy life and to minister the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven with those who truly walk in faith and love and make Jesus Christ the LORD and King of Kings in their lives. Roman chapters 8-12 are supported here.   But through faith and our personal desire.

Events are closing for the final judgment in the history of mankind. Those who have yielded to Jesus as Lord will become His brethren in the eternal family of God. Those who reject the Lordship and forgiveness offered through Jesus Christ and have lived egocentric lives will be separated from God’s presence, creation and light and exiled into isolation and outer darkness for eternity. God will not force anyone to come under the authority of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Free will is a most precious in God’s creation as God has made all souls eternal. The choice in time is to learn to want to live with Him in light. To reject His right to be God and King in our lives is to be removed from His presence and His creation. Jude 11-25

AN EXPANDED CONFESSION OF FAITH:

I confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord, Master, and Savior. By faith in Christ Jesus, I am forgiven, cleansed, healed and made a citizen of His eternal kingdom. Jesus Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law of sin, sickness, weakness and eternal death through His death on the cross for me. I believe in the Trinity of one God: Almighty Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Creator made flesh, The Word of God who was begotten as the second Adam. He was born of a virgin, died for my sins, rose for my justification and is coming again soon, in great glory, to establish His Kingdom on earth. I believe in the new birth from above, the baptism in water, and the baptism in the Holy Spirit. I confess that the blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed me from all my sin and I am now being made the righteousness of God in and through Christ Jesus. I confess that I can do all things through Christ who is my strength as I abide in Him. I confess that this world is not my home. I confess that I am a pilgrim in a foreign land and I look for that certain return of my Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. I confess that there is but one holy universal and apostolic Church of Jesus Christ and all those who are born from above are brethren and citizens of His kingdom. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is being perfected by the Holy Spirit through the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers and other ministries of His Church until all the faithful come into the unity of the faith and the bond of peace and are changed into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ, (Eph. 4:1- 16).
AUTHORITY

The qualifications for Bishops (Elders, Overseers, Eph.4:11) are clearly laid out in 1 Tim.3:1 7, Titus 1:5 16 and Deacons (Servants of the Church) 1 Tim.3:8 13.

Concerning “Proving or Trying” 1 Tim.3:10 This indicates that the calling of God made room for the acknowledgment of ministry and not the other way around. It is the fruit that determines the kind of tree and not the name pasted on the tree.

Concerning “Elders – Bishops” Titus 1:5 & 7 Here Paul uses the words Elder and Bishop as the same. The concept is one who oversees our Lord Jesus Christ under the Holy Spirit.

The Apostolic “company” of Eph.4:11 are “Elders” in general but specifically are “Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers” for the perfecting of the saints. The Greek word for Overseer is Bishop. So these Elders are the servant consensual authority on earth for a local area Church of our Lord Jesus Christ guided by the Holy Spirit.  They are not a dictatorship nor a democracy. They are the stewards of the Kingdom of God while the King is away. There is usually a first among equals who is the moderator and takes care that the decisions of the council are all in loving influence. Great care is given for the unity of the faith in the bond of peace as unity is more important that action. Therefore great care must be given in selecting the Elders/Bishops/Overseers/Apostolic Company as there is a need for pure holy unity in the Holy Spirit or nothing eternal may happen.

The tradition of the church to use a democratic voting system among the congregation is not Biblical and falls under the condemnation of Laodicea in Rev. 3:14 22 and the other excess is the dictatorship of Rev.17 & 18, Please note that Mystery Babylon also sits on 7 hills.

The Early Church had 5 layers of teaching and ministry:

1.    The Elder with an assistant who he was mentoring.

2.    The local weekly “House Church” gathering.

3,    The local “Eldership Council” for guiding the local church in a given community area to speak the truth in love and unity.

4,    The gathering of Christians to a given place of all the “House Churches” to hear an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist or Teacher.

5.    The gathering of the Presiding Elders to an international gathering to keep the unity of the faith in the bond of peace.

CHRISTMAS DAY,   12/25/20,   Now we are headed into New Year’s Resolutions.  But let take a sec. to considering why we could have some resolutions that really work for us.

I AM
 Exodus 3:13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them?   14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!   15 God said also to Moses, This shall you say to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your fathers, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has sent me to you! This is My [a]name forever, and by this name I am to be remembered to all generations.

Isaiah 9:6 (  Prophesy )   For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John 8:23,  “He said to them, You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world (of this earthly order); I am not of this world.   24 That is why I told you that you will die in (under the curse of) your sins; for if you do not believe that I AM. (He )[Whom I claim to be—if you do not adhere to, trust in, and rely on Me], you will die in your sins.
John 8:28,  “
 So Jesus added, When you have lifted up the Son of Man [on the cross], you will realize (know, understand) that I AM (He) [for Whom you look] and that I do nothing of Myself (of My own accord or on My own authority), but I say [exactly] what My Father has taught Me.


John 8:31-32,  “So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.
John 8:51,  “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone observes My teaching [lives in accordance with My message, keeps My word], he will by no means ever see and experience death.
John 8:58,  “ Jesus replied, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, before Abraham was born,   I AM .   

For me,  This is an amazing study where The “Word of God” from our Creator directly spoke through Jesus as the I AM  Word of God as HE also spoke to Moses to deliver the people of Israel.   (Actually the (he) imposed after the I AM above is not in the Greek,  it was added by the translators.)   So here we have a beautiful picture of the submission of Jesus in actually observing this conversation.  As often, those of us, today have had our Creator speak through us and then go back over what we said or wrote and see that it was not really us but the Holy Spirit speaking through us.  Obvious it was the Creator, Word of God, that Abraham was rejoicing to see HIS day as Jesus is the Lamb of God.   Isa. 61,  The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound,  2To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] [a]and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 

When Jesus quoted this in Luke 4:18 in the beginning of HIS ministry HE left off after the year of the LORD….   Like the day of vengeance/wrath was yet to come.  We may be entering into that  time of vengeance or wrath at this time,  Matt. 24, Mark 13, Luke 21.  I have attached my paper on the subject if interested.  Notice here that Jesus confirmed that the Spirit of the Lord is upon him.  That Jesus prior to HIS resurrection,  was a man as we are.  It was after HIS resurrection that we see HIS total Victory and Power which is available for us as well.
