ANOINTING OF GOD

GOD’S ANOINTING,   WORTH CONSIDERING    3/12/20 by Ken Smith<><

Today’s Scripture
“…But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth…”
(1 John 2:20, NIV)

You Have an Anointing
We don’t have to go through life doing everything on our own, trying to accomplish our dreams in our own ability, trying to overcome challenges in our own strength, our own intellect, and our own hard work. We have an advantage. God has placed His anointing on you. The anointing is a divine empowerment. It enables you to do what you could not do on your own. It will cause you to accomplish dreams even though you don’t have the talent. It will help you overcome obstacles that looked insurmountable.

The anointing is only activated where there is faith. Instead of complaining about how something is not going to work out, turn that around and start declaring, “I am anointed. I am equipped. I am empowered. I am well able.” When you have this attitude of faith and are speaking words of victory, you are stirring up your anointing. That’s when you’ll go places that you couldn’t go on your own.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You have placed Your anointing on me to enable me to do what I cannot do on my own and to accomplish my dreams. I believe and declare that I am equipped and empowered to go where I’ve never been and do what I’ve never done. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Notes,
Sounds really easy as most of us have a pretty very good idea of “what would Jesus do,” in most any situation.  The difficulty is that the powers of darkness can make the lies of death seem so good and so necessary to our flesh that like Eve we easily get deceived.   God was walking with Adam and Eve in the cool of the evening each day to give them instructions on how to subdue the earth and to replenish it.  And this was before the fall and the curse.  So why didn’t Adam and Eve wait a day and talk to God in the evening about the temptation and the commandment.  But Eve got caught up in the lies in wanting what was offered as the (real truth.)  On the back side of that was to catch GOD in being a supposed liar.  And once you get into making the truth to be a lie and the lie to being the truth you can be manipulated to do most anything.  And Adam was not about to go anywhere except with Eve.  So Paul call’s Adam out as not being deceived but as being in pride and rebellion.

So Eve was tempted by lucifer that the fruit was best in the garden, it could make her wise and even better, to even become like GOD.  And those 3 temptations can be found on our walk in just about any day.  Jesus went through the same temptations during his 40 day fast.  The lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life.  But if you take a breath and look at God’s Heaven as your ultimate destiny and think about what you can send ahead as a gift to GOD our Creator.  Then in the words of an old hymn it will make the lies of this world become dim and ineffective.  God has told us in the Holy Scriptures that HE has our back, that all our needs are there, ready for us if we will but trust HIM.

So to be anointed and blessed of God.  First we need to believe in HIM in our heart of hearts and that HE has a desire and the ability to rewards those who come through Christ Jesus to HIM.  But don’t expect to be anointed of God in disobedience.   Of course “the god of this world,”  lucifer is also into blessing (temporarily) those who will submit to him as well.  So those who really want to eat the forbidden fruits of this world, and there are many, may easily do so.  Every time we spend time before the worlds publicity we are encourage to be this or that or to get this or that to keep us in our comfort zone, what ever that may be.  We are encouraged to honor our flesh and to do all we can to keep our Adamic nature alive and in freedom to do whatever the lie of the moment may happen to be until our time on earth is used up, wasted, and is gone.

Paul writes about the flesh in this manner:   “We know that the Law is spiritual, but I am a creature of the flesh [worldly, self-reliant—carnal and un-spiritual ], sold into slavery to sin [and serving under its control]. 15 For I do not understand my own actions [I am baffled and bewildered by them]. I do not practice what I want to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate [and yielding to my human nature, my worldliness—my sinful capacity]. 16 Now if I habitually do what I do not want to do, [that means] I agree with the Law, confessing that it is good (morally excellent). 17 So now [if that is the case, then] it is no longer I who do it [the disobedient thing which I despise], but the sin [nature] which lives in me. 18 For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh [my human nature, my worldliness—my sinful capacity]. For the willingness [to do good] is present in me, but the doing of good is not. 19 For the good that I want to do, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want. 20 But if I am doing the very thing I do not want to do, I am no longer the one doing it [that is, it is not me that acts], but the sin [nature] which lives in me.  21 So I find it to be the law [of my inner self], that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good. 22 For I joyfully delight in the law of God in my inner self [with my new nature], 23 but I see a different law and rule of action in the members of my body [in its appetites and desires], waging war against the law of my mind and subduing me and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is within my members. 24 Wretched and miserable man that I am! Who will [rescue me and] set me free from this body of death [this corrupt, mortal existence]? 25 Thanks be to God [for my deliverance] through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind serve the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh [my human nature, my worldliness, my sinful capacity—I serve] the law of sin.  Rom. 7:14-25   So each of us is in this battle between the Flesh and the Spirit.  And in Paul in the next chapter teaches us how to have the victory, if interested.  And in that victory we can become anointed of God, supernaturally.  And we can learn do the same things that Jesus did upon the earth in unity with others who also have gained the same victory.  So.. “speaking the truth in love [in all things—both our speech and our lives expressing His truth], let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] who is the Head—Christ. 16 From Him the whole body [the church, in all its various parts], joined and knitted firmly together by what every joint supplies, when each part is working properly, causes the body to grow and mature, building itself up [a] in [unselfish] love. Eph.4:15-16.

Yours, in HIS great love and Wonderful Grace and mercy.
