GOD’S FAVOR
ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS, Beloved of God and me, John 3:15-18
GOD’S FAVOR, “WORTH CONSIDERING” 3/4/20 by Ken Smith, www.Trinity-Aloha.org
Today’s Scripture
“…About this time next year,” Elisha said, “you will hold a son in your arms…”3 Kings 4:16
Who Says it’s Permanent?
In 2 Kings 4, there was a wealthy lady who had been extraordinarily kind to the prophet Elisha. The only thing missing in her life was a child. She was barren and her husband was old. One day Elisha said, “By this time next year, you will hold a son in your arms.” She nearly passed out. She’d tried to have a baby for years. She said, “Please don’t lie to me like that!” She was saying, “How can this happen? It’s impossible.” But God is a supernatural God. He can make things happen out of season. A year later she had her son.
We all have situations that look permanent. All the circumstances say it’s going to take years to get out of debt, years to accomplish that dream, but God is going to surprise you. Don’t believe the lies that say it’s permanent. You may not see anything changing, but stay in faith—you are closer than you think.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are the God who can do the impossible and who loves to surprise us. Thank You that one touch of Your favor can turn around what looks like it will never change. I believe that You are going to do more than I can imagine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Ken’s thoughts:
In reading about Kathryn Kuhlman last night there and was some simplicity that I felt to share.

Shortly after I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit IN 1968, I found myself drawn to her gatherings in Los Angeles and became an usher and also sang in the choir. I noticed that she, as a prophetess was very sensitive to the Holy Spirit and greatly enjoyed all the folks who came. And through the worship music and her presence and the worship that the Holy Spirit would also attend and make Isa. 61:1-3 & Lk.4:18-20 come alive at that time. As an usher one time I had to lift a man from a wheelchair and place him in a seat. (No wheelchairs allowed due to Fire Marshall.) He was nothing but a limp bag of bones and obviously dying. Later on as the meeting was progressing I saw that same man on the stage with his buddy in his wheel chair with him pushing and racing back and forth across the stage, totally healed. That was over 50 years ago. I really miss those days and would love to see them again. Many of the saints and lost alike need Jesus to return, though His Church and to do again what He did. With Kathryn, there were no healing lines and no band standing. She was who she was but all 100 pounds of her totally in the Spirit of God. And the Holy Spirit would move through the crowds of people and heal according to their faith. Then they would come forward and share their healing, braces in hand, and be blessed of the LORD.
In Jeremiah we read the following. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 So God has good plans for you. This includes giving you a future that you enjoy. He is not planning your downfall And that God will guide us when we draw near to Him with all our heart. Our Great Creator really loves us and wants to help us to become what He originally created us in Adam to become. Of course we know all about the fallen Adamic nature that we inherited and we deeply need God’s grace to change our citizenship from being the children of Adam to, in Christ Jesus to be restored to becoming the children of God. On our part it is a willingness to die to the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life and make Christ Jesus, actually, our LORD. Christ Jesus said it this way.
“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone [just one grain, never more]. But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest. 25 The one who loves his life [eventually] loses it [through death], but the one who hates his life in this world [and is concerned with pleasing God] will keep it for life eternal. 26 If anyone serves Me, he must [continue to faithfully] follow Me [without hesitation, holding steadfastly to Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]; and wherever I am [in heaven’s glory], there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.” John 12:24-26. (AMP)
It takes a lot of saturation in and with God’s Holy Truth in faith to be able to put our old carnal Adamic nature to death and enjoy God’s Freedom in Christ Jesus. So don’t give up, And it does help to make friends with those who are also seeking the same freedoms and headed the same way.
