REJOICE / PROMISES
REJOICE/PROMISES, “WORTH CONSIDERING” 10/23/19, (Across my desk this morning.)
Today’s Scripture |
“Rejoice with those who rejoice…” (Romans 12:15, NKJV) |
Celebrate Others |
When a friend or family member succeeds, gets promoted or experiences an unexpected good break in life, how do you respond? Some people wonder, “What about me?” Others criticize or say, “It won’t last long.” But really, the way you respond to another person’s success will determine the level of your own success. Whether you respond in a negative or positive way, you are sowing seeds for your future. That’s why the Scripture tells us simply to “rejoice with those who rejoice.” God wants you to be successful. His commands are for your good. He doesn’t want jealousy or strife to enter your life and rob you of His blessing. Today, make it a point to find someone who is celebrating and celebrate with them. Congratulate them on their success no matter how small it seems in the natural. Rejoice with those who rejoice, sow seeds of blessing, and open the door for victory in your own life in return! |
A Prayer for Today |
“Father, thank You for Your hand of blessing not only on my life but on the lives of the people around me. I choose to rejoice in You, and I choose to rejoice over Your victory everywhere I go in Jesus’ name! Amen!” My Comments: Today in my mail a really great letter from missionaries on the field also told of an out of the blue shooting where a young Cristian wife/mother was killed as she exited her car in front of her home. Of course, family and friends went into deep morning and pain over the murder. But I read it, I said to myself, way to go. She went home to be with the LORD in faith, Her time of testing is over, she has graduated into the eterma; loving place of GOD’s presence. Of course I am not going to run out and try to get shot. And her family will go through the process of grieving. But as Christians we should all read Fox’s “Book of Martyrs” and get the Long View (Eternal View) of things as they really are and rejoice on the basis of the Promises of God. The Real Word is what GOD says that it is, it is not the temporary time world that we now live in for our time of testing. So her time of testing is over. But how about ours? Can we Rejoice only through our own eyes or can we rejoice through faith in the wonderful promises of God? I often think that I am 87 now just because I needed more time in order to graduate. 3 For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [[a]full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). 4 By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature. 5 For this very reason, [b]adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in [c]exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence), 6 And in [exercising] knowledge [develop] self-control, and in [exercising] self-control [develop] steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in [exercising] steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety), 7 And in [exercising] godliness [develop] brotherly affection, and in [exercising] brotherly affection [develop] Christian love. 2 Peter 1: 3-7 AMPC And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, Luke 1:47, So for the present you are also in sorrow (in distress and depressed); but I will see you again and [then] your hearts will rejoice, and no one can take from you your joy (gladness, delight). John 16:22, Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice! Phil.4:4. But insofar as you are sharing Christ’s sufferings, rejoice, so that when His glory [full of radiance and splendor] is revealed, you may also rejoice with triumph [exultantly]. 1 Pet. 4:13. Let us rejoice and shout for joy [exulting and triumphant]! Let us celebrate and ascribe to Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb [at last] has come, and His bride has prepared herself.
