WORDS      “WORTH CONSIDERING”   1/15/21     From Ken Smith <><

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 18:21, NIV)     (Across my desk this morning from a church in Texas.)

Words Become Your Reality

You are where you are today in part because of what you’ve been saying about yourself. Words are like seeds. When you speak something out, you give life to what you’re saying. If you continue to say it, eventually that can become a reality. Whether you realize it or not, you are prophesying your future. That’s great when you’re saying, “I’m blessed. I’m strong.” But it’s not great when you’re saying, “I never get a break. I’ll probably get laid off.” Your life moves in the direction of your words.

Think of your words as seeds you’re planting. At some point, you’re going to eat fruit from the exact seeds that you’ve been sowing, so make sure you’re planting the right seeds. In other words, you can’t talk negative and expect to live a positive life. If you don’t like what you’re eating, start sowing seeds of abundance and increase, and you’ll reap a harvest of good things.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that my words have the creative power to change my life and become my reality. Help me to give my faith a voice by speaking words of life and blessing over myself and my future daily. I declare that I will sow seeds of abundance and increase and reap a harvest of good things. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts,
Seems like the nations of the world are having a difficult time trying to have PEACE as we are always talking about war..  Ken Kesey and I were talking about world events back in the 60’s by his barn at sunset and he cut right into the conversation and said, “Yes, and I know we will not have peace till the Prince of Peace returns!! ”  That ended the words on the subject and I felt a lot of Joy in my heart that even Ken knew that.   So words are interesting, we can filter damaging words out that we hear and we can let healing words in.  But what we say over and over with our mouth is what our heart will ultimately believe, feed on and live by.  So if our words are true and loving then our heart will reflect that in every aspect of our life.  If our words are destructive then our heart will feed on those words and become dark and destructive as well.   And that is true even if they are lies.   It is amazing how much the Bible teaches on this subject, especially Jesus.  It is an exceptionally good subject on which to do a word study.

Notice in Roman 10:9-10 what the scripture teaches:   Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.   10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared  righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.   (Goto: www.biblegateway.com for a good search engine.)

You can see how even our salvation is a confession of the lips and mouth to even be saved from hell is faith.   When I decided on April 28, 1955 to make Jesus Christ my LORD based on the truth of  1 Cor 3:11-15 which my mind felt was very reasonable.  It still took about 6 months of making that confession with my mind and in my words before my heart finally felt the truth of it and truly rested in God’s promises of salvation.  My heart of hearts was so full of junk that it took that long to dump enough trash so that I could give God’s Holy Truth the room to begin to take over my whole life.  So as we read the Word of God and lean into the Precious Promises as true then they begin to unfold in our lives and become real.   Heb.11:1, “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a] the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [ faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].  So if you really want to change your life it begins with finding God’s Truth and then to get your heart to believe that it is true and real.  Jesus taught in Matt.17:20, “He said to them, Because of the littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of firmly relying trust ]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.”  Matt.21:21  And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust ) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done.  Of course Jesus is referring to the ultimate GOD creative faith that took energy and made it into matter and into us and all creation.  Even all of the atoms are held together by faith.  Our Creator God wants to have us eventually learn how to do what HE can do. God’s original vision was to make us to be like HIM if we would allow for it.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, and one sure way of peacemaking is to let the fire of contention alone. Neither fan it, nor stir it, nor add fuel to it, but let it go out by itself.”   -Charles Spurgeon
“How can you preach His gospel with your tongues, when with hands, feet, and heart you are preaching the devil’s gospel, and setting up an antichrist by your practical unholiness?”
– Charles Spurgeon
“Blessed are the meek,  For they shall inherit the earth…  Blessed are the merciful,  For they shall obtain mercy…  Blessed are the peacemakers,  For they shall be called sons of God.”  -Jesus
