WEIGHTS & BURDENS     “WORTH CONSIDERING” 9/16/20   From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture                   (Across my desk this morning from a church in Texas.)
“…Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”  (Matthew 11:28, NLT)

Lay Aside the Weights
Sometimes it’s as though we’re carrying all these heavy bags around—a bag of guilt, another bag with all the mistakes we’ve made, then we add on a bag full of regrets. We go through life carrying around all of these bags, then we wonder why life is a struggle, why we’re tired, why we can’t accomplish a dream. It’s because you weren’t created to live with guilt, condemnation, and shame.  The Scripture tells us to “lay aside the weights that can easily entangle us.” It’s time to lay aside those weights of guilt and shame and regret. It’s time to get rid of that baggage. This is a new day. The accuser has held you back long enough. Nothing you’ve done in the past is too much for the mercy of God. You are redeemed. You are restored. Shake off the guilt and the accusing voices and receive the gift of righteousness in Christ Jesus and rest for your soul.

A Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that I can come to You and unload all the weight of heaviness, regrets, feelings of unworthiness. I am laying aside all those heavy bags and receiving Your gift of righteousness. I will rest in Your love and mercy and forgiveness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts,
Of course, all of the above,  but also Unforgiveness and Stuff.  When I moved from my home and Inn in 2018 after being there from 1971, I had to leave in a hurry as the new owners container full of their stuff arrived.   So I hired a bunch of kids and got a ton of boxes and had them just load up (toss) everything and had a moving company move it to our new location.   3 years later my carport is still full of boxes, a Costco tent is full of stuff and a new shop still has to be sorted out… STUFF….   Some good and some trash but then my feet gave out, getting better now, so still looking at the stuff.  Wife say just dump it all…. Hmmmmm????  But then there is some really good stuff in that mountain of stuff….So been looking for a hoarder expert to give me a hand.  Not as bad as the show, but perhaps 30-40% accurate.  But in the LORD need to get to -0-.   I love the story of the Rich Young Ruler who was told to give it all to the poor….  Could put up a sign in my front yard, “Free Store” and see what happens.   But then there is the virus and I am numbered among the endangered species list at my age of 88.    But then there was another rich man and Jesus only borrowed his tomb for 3 nights, blessed it,  and gave it back.

But an even bigger issue is unforgiveness.  It makes us feel so spiritual and elevated to hold some ones else’s feet to the fires who has wronged us.  And we get to justly talk stink about them any time we want to.   Of course those who live in a glass house should learn not to throw rocks.  And when we face the Eternal Judge of all things will we find mercy or judgment for our sins?  Will we find mercy and grace or judgment and expulsion from God’s Kingdom of Righteousness.  We need to understand that God’s forgiveness of us is totally dependent on what forgiveness we extend to each other.   Jesus gave us an example of thoughts for us to pray through for finding mercy and grace and it goes like this.

Luke 1 AMP    It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them,  “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. 3 ‘Give us each day our daily bread. 4 ‘And forgive us our sins,  For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us [who has offended or wronged us]. And lead us not into temptation but rescue us from evil.”

Traditional Prayer that we are use to:
Our Father, who art in heaven,  hallowed be thy name;  thy kingdom come;  thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation;  but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom,  the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

But the LORD Jesus is trying to teach us something really important here.  1st off,  GOD is the ultimate cause of all things, energy, matter, universe and including us and we need to understand that HE is a HOLY GOD.  And that although HE has given us a freewill HE would like us to learn to become a Holy People and make the earth like HIS Kingdom above in righteousness.  Also that we can depend upon HIM to provide for our needs and to forgive us in the same manner that we want HIM to forgive us during this temporary time of training and testing.  And for us to seek His help to learn to stay away from the sins of youthful lusts and the pride of life and to help us to be truly free,  for after all it is HIS Kingdom and Glory for eternity…  So Be It.     (So these words are an actual Holy Guide for Prayer and not a mindless mantra to be said without heart understanding,  Well Worth Deeply Considering.  You have one life time in which to figure it out.)

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful Grace and Mercy, Ken<>< www.Trinity-Aloha.org
