VICTORY THROUGH FAITH,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”    5/29/20     From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture      (In my emails this morning from a church in Texas.)
“…But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the LORD’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you!…” (2 Chron.s 20:17,

Make Yourself be Still
The Israelites were surrounded by a huge army and greatly outnumbered. They were so worried and stressed out. Just before they went to battle, they decided to pray. Notice God’s answer. If you will be still and remain at rest, God will turn it to victory. He is with you. He will vindicate you.  When you feel overwhelmed and you’re tempted to take everything into your own hands, you have to make yourself be still. The battle is not yours. The battle is the Lord’s. As long as you’re fighting it, God is going to step back and let you do it on your own. But when you put it back in His hands, God will fight your battles. Now do your part and rest. Trust God’s timing. He knows what He is doing. You may not understand why something is taking so long, but sometimes God will delay an answer so He can show His power in a greater way.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your hand of protection upon my life. I choose to be still, to get quiet before You, and listen to You. Give me the grace to accept Your timing and rest in the fact that You’ve already scheduled things in for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

My Thoughts,
This is a tough one today but absolutely true.  I can remember a time at LightHouse Ranch when we were totally unprepared for the mob that came, out of the blue, for an evening free meal and place to sleep.  One night we had of ourselves about 30 to feed and about 40 hippies landed in our midst of us from out of no were?  The ministry was located about 15 miles south of Eureka in the middle of absolute total darkness at the farthest point west on the West coast of the U.S. in California.   We had enough food for about 40 and prayed and rested in the LORD and feed 70? Those 30 young Christians had a lot of love for Jesus and a lot of faith, right out of John 17:20-22 and Eph.4:11-16.  We had a great time that evening in our little chapel.

Another time at Lighthouse when we were just getting started this happened.   When I purchased the 7 acres and old buildings, some pre WW1 it was occupied by about 50 hippie squatters.  In fact the owner was fearful for his life and packed up the next day after I bought it, hippies and all, and left with his family.  The only building empty, the roof leaked like it was not there.  So I rented a tar kettle, taught a little about hot mop and re-roofed the duplex and moved in with about 11 people with the women on one side and the men on the other.  Well the hippies were unhappy with us Bible toting Christians.  One of the hippies had a brother in the Hell’s Angels in Bakersfield so he called him and asked him if the chapter could come to Lolita and chase the Christians out of the complex.  So the brother in Bakersfield got the chapter together to come and help his brother chase us away.

As the Chapter was riding north about 19 bikes with jackets one of the policemen in Fortuna noticed and got permission to follow and see what they were up to.  Brent and I had gone to Eureka to pick up the daily food and were also on the road back to the Lighthouse.  Well the Chapter of Hell’s Angles pulled into the Lighthouse Ranch and presumed that the Christians would have occupied the best building, which later became the chapel.  But at that time was occupied by a warlock and his coven.  The biker’s started messing with them thinking they were us.  Threw an axe through a window and started to make a big mess.  About the time the Police Car arrived with his red light on, grabbed his shotgun and set on his front fender, calling for back up.  We came in just about that time.  The nice guy cop asked me what I wanted him to do.  I told him to hang on for a few and let me go talk to the pres. of the chapter.  As they were all rather subdued by that time.  So Brent and I walked over and asked them how we could help.  The Pres. of the Chapter looked a little strange and ask me if they could stay there until one of the guys got a part for a bike that would not start.  I said sure but that we had no place to shelter them.  They said don’t worry about it.  About that time 3 more police cars pulled in, that all got out with their shot guns under the big trees by our duplex and waited for the Chapter to leave.   Well it got a lot colder and a lot wetter and by 3 AM the Chapter was blue, wet and cold to the bone.

Now where they were camping out with no cover or fire in a stormy sea wind that was about 500′ from the county road with a 5 strand barb wire fence that Leon had beautifully made, you could play a tune on the wire.  This fence was no the north side of the road out of the compound and on the south side of that little road was the automotive junk yard or bone yard as we called it with auto parts all over the place.  hippies would come in, car would fall apart, we wold push it out into the bone yard for parts if they left it or did not fix it.  So about 3 AM the biker came back with the part and the bike was fixed.  All loaded up shivering, soaked and beat and at high speed headed down long driveway out of our space.

But about that time, why I have no idea,  Leon returned with his big white Helm’s Bread Truck that filled the driveway.   He only got about 50′ up the driveway due to all the head lights headed in his direction so stopped in the middle of the driveway not allowing for much room on either side of his truck.  But the Bikers were in no mood to stop.  Even from where I was I could see the whites of Leon’s eyes and the big sign on the front of his white truck in big black letter:  “REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND!!! All written, hippie style with runny lettering but very very clear to all.  As the bikers tried to get around Leon’s truck you could hear yells and screams the tearing of leather and the bouncing of bikes over car parts.  Talk about being at peace and watching the LORD win the battle I had never seen anything like that time when God gave 19 Big mean bikers and some girl friends a very hard cold wet spanking.   For years now, I have looked back at that time when the LORD took over and won the battle with a big grin on my face.   After this the other hippies lost heart and started leaving Lighthouse Ranch and the place became home to a lot of brand new hippie Christians and eventually became “Gospel Outreach” and ministered all over the world.  Hope you enjoyed this story and my memory of the LORD’S Victory and gained a little faith by reading about it.

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><    www.Trinity-Aloha.org
