SOWING & REAPING

ALOHA FAMILY & FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16-18

SOWING & REAPING,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”   4/7/20,

Today’s Scripture             (In my mailbox this morning and a good reminder from Texas.)
“…When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the LORD blessed him…”  (Genesis 26:12, NLT)

Amaze the Critics
During a great famine in the land, Isaac was about to move to Egypt, but God said, “Stay where you are. My favor is on you right here among the Philistines.” So despite the famine, Isaac planted his grain fields. The Philistines were already jealous of him, and his planting in dry, hard soil added to their ridicule of him. But Isaac stayed in peace. Several months later, his critics were amazed to see his hundredfold harvest.

At some point, you may be tempted to run from a situation where you face ridicule and opposition, but you do not have to leave in order to be blessed. God wants to bless you right where you are. Part of His vindication is promoting you so the opposition can see it. Your attitude should be: “They may be laughing now, but this challenge is preparing the way for God to bless me!” God is faithful.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the promise to bless me right where I am, even when I face opposition and ridicule. I believe that You will multiply me even in the midst of famine. I receive Your peace and rest knowing that You are faithful and will bring blessing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Thoughts:
And this is true of what ever you plant physically or emotionally or spiritually.  Sowing and Reaping is a universal cosmic law of God’s Universe.  So if you are under God’s blessing what ever good you plant will bring a good harvest.
So we should plant out of our needs, not our abundance.     Paul shared it this way: Romans 8: 8-14 AMP

So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.  9 But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and controls you]. But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God].  10 But if Christ lives in you, [then although] your [natural] body is dead by reason of sin and guilt, the spirit is alive because of [the] righteousness [that He imputes to you].  11 And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.  12 So then, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh [we are not obligated to our carnal nature], to live [a life ruled by the standards set up by the dictates] of the flesh.  13 For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.  14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

“They who sow in tears shall reap in joy and singing.  6 He who goes forth bearing seed and weeping [at needing his precious supply of grain for sowing] shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”  Psalms 126:5-6

“These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him:  17 A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,  18 A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,  19 A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren.  20 My son, keep your father’s [God-given] commandment and forsake not the law of [God] your mother [taught you].’  Proverbs 6A:16-20

“For as [surely as] the earth brings forth its shoots, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring forth, so [surely] the Lord God will cause rightness and justice and praise to spring forth before all the nations [through the self-fulfilling power of His word].”  Isa. 61:11

“I will hiss for them [as the keeper does for his bees] and gather them in, for I have redeemed them, and they shall increase [again] as they have increased [before, in Egypt].  9 And though I sow them among the nations, yet they shall [earnestly] remember Me in far countries, and with their children they shall live and shall return [to God and the land He gave them].  10 I will bring them [all Israel] home again from the land of Egypt and gather them out of Assyria, and I will bring them into the land [on the east and on the west of the Jordan, into] Gilead and Lebanon, and room enough shall not be found for them.”  (Israel) Zechariah 10:8-10
