POWER,   “WORTH CONSIDERING”
7/13/19,   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
…and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.”  (Ephesians 1:19, NKJV)

The Greatness of His Power
Paul prayed that we would understand the exceeding greatness of God’s power for those who believe. Notice the power is only activated when we believe. That means right now the Creator of the universe is just waiting to release healing, restoration, favor, promotion and abundance. The only catch is that we have to believe.

I think about Mary, the mother of Christ. When she was a teenager, the angel appeared to her and said, “You’re going to have a child without knowing a man, and He will be the Son of God.” Her first thought was, “That’s impossible. That’s never happened before. That defies the laws of nature.” She said to the angel, “How can this be?” He answered back, “The Spirit of the Lord will come on you and cause it to happen.”

I love the way Mary responded. She didn’t argue with him. She didn’t try to talk herself out of it. She simply said, “Be it unto me even as you have said.” That’s the way we need to be to activate God’s power in our lives.

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for exceeding greatness of Your power. Help me to see, to know, to recognize Your hand at work in my life. I choose to believe and open the door for You to have Your way in every area of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
One of the last things that Jesus said to HIS disciples was concerning power.  That HE knew that we would need HIS power to get the work done on earth that HE would appoint HIS Church to do.  In Acts 1:8,  “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost (Spirit) is come upon you:  and ye sall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”  (Which, by the way, is Hawaii.  We are at the uttermost distance possible from Jerusalem.)

So consider that these guy were already saved in the Upper Room some 40 days or so past.  So like Paul’s question in Acts 19:2,  “…Have ye received the Holy Ghost (Spirit)  since ye believed?”    In Luke Christ Jesus tells us that this gift of power is for GOD’s Children,  Luke 11:13,  “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children:  how much more shall your heavenly Father give the holy Spirit to them that ask HIM?

Of course you don’t give a kid a loaded gun until you are sure he will use it wisely so there is also a learning curve and an obedience factor.   But once given, the Spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet, 1 Cor.14:32 but then the Holy Spirit may also be restrained by our lack of faith.  And of course, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of GOD.  Hebrews, chapter 11 is a good faith builder.  So as noted below, when the Holy Spirit is in charge and has us supporting HIM great things begin to happen like the 3,000 men saved on Pentecost.  Now it seems we preach 3,000 sermons and not one gets saved.  So if nothing is happening, it is because the Holy Spirit is not in charge.  God has limited Himself in our affairs to only do what we will allow HIM to do.  HE totally honors our freewill,  faith level and our comfort zone.  This is because only by allowing freewill to be totally free can we learn how to love HIM, ourselves and each other.  Love can not exist outside of freewill.

So if you are attending a powerless gathering Paul writes to Timothy in 1 Tim.3:5,  go some place where they are trying to learn how to walk in the Power of the Holy Spirit.  Of course you need to clean house if you are going to have the Holy Spirit be comfortable in your home.  And you are going to need to accept the change to become more like Jesus Christ as that is HIS vision for you.  And you are going to need to get rid of the squatters living in the attic and basement and allow the Holy Spirit to completely fill your house.  You will need to give the Holy Spirit all of the Keys that belong to all of the doors in your house.   You have been told by the enemy that you have a very small house.  God wants us to know that you have a very big house with lots of room for everything he wants us to learn to do.  We are not special, but we are unique so we need each other and to learn how all of the living stones (Eph.4:11-16) go together so that the world can experience Christ Jesus today.  And we will find joy in the presence of our Creator as did David and Jesus.  Yes Jesus is also a man like us as well.

Written quickly this morning,  may have typo’s….  Yours in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org
