Today’s Scripture (Across my desk this morning.)
“…Be still, and know that I am God!…” (Psalm 46:10, NLT)
Stay at Peace
It’s easy to live frustrated because somebody is not doing what we want, discouraged because of a disappointment, upset because our dreams haven’t come to pass. But God doesn’t remove every frustration. He doesn’t change every person we don’t like or take away everything that’s bothering us. When He says, “Be still and know that I am God,” this implies that if we’re not still, if we’re upset, frustrated, and worried, we’re not going to know that He is God. Most of the time when we’re frustrated, we’re trying to change things that only God can change. We’re trying to be God and fix things over which we have no control. You can’t make people do what’s right or make yourself get well. If you’re trying to control everything, you’re going to be frustrated. Do what you can, then turn it over to God and let Him take care of the rest. Stay at peace, knowing He’s in control.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I can be still and know that You are God. Help me to stop trying to change what only You can change and stop trying to fix things over which I have no control. I declare that I’m going to stay in peace and know that You are in control. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Ken’s Thoughts:
The primary reason for our Creation is to give us the opportunity to choose love and righteousness and light over sin and darkness and then to bring glory to God in our love for HIM. It was extremely costly for our Creator to make this choice available to us. Jesus was the first to make it though our fallen world into God’s Glory and presence. And HE has also provided the way for us to follow HIM into truly becoming the children of God. Our Great Creator is well aware that we were born dead of Adam which was not our fault. So HE has provided a way through Christ Jesus for us to be born again from above, John 3. And not only that but also to be given the Grace or Power by God to overcome the world. Romans 8 if we will decide to learn to use it.
You see, it all works by faith. It is like a road map. I once used a road map to go from New York to go home to Eugene, Oregon. I would have easily been lost without one and never made it home. There were so many choices to make each day. Any one of them could have taken me miles out of the way. And some even could have been a dead end with no way to get turned around in my 27 foot R.V. So the New Testament is our Road Map and not the folks on the side of the road. If you listen to them you can get into all kinds of alley ways and dead ends. Start with the Gospel (Good News) of John, then ACTS and then Romans and you will find most of the good markers for finding your way home. But make the New Testament your only Road Map as that is why it was giving to us through our Creator’s First Born Son and HIS Prophets. Adam is also a son but was created from the dust. But Jesus was born of man as body, soul and spirit in perfection. And HE became the perfect guide and salvation for us all. In Adam all died so also in Christ Jesus all shall be made alive. “21 For since [it was] by a man that death came [into the world], it is also by a Man that the resurrection of the dead has come. 22 For just as [a]in Adam all die, so also [b]in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then those who are Christ’s [own will be resurrected with incorruptible, immortal bodies] at His coming.” 1 Cor.15:21-23. So are you in Christ Jesus and are you on the road home to becoming like HIM? Then you can walk through this crazy sinful world in PEACE. Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] John 16:33.

World must prepare for potential COVID-19 pandemic says WHO, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom on Monday told countries to brace for a ‘potential pandemic’ of COVID-19. Canada’s border measures to guard the country against incoming cases of the novel coronavirus, or COVID−19, will likely become less effective as transmission of the virus spreads to more countries outside of Canada, the country’s chief medical officer Dr. Theresa Tam said Monday. Wall Street plunges on fears of coronavirus pandemic. The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average on Monday suffered their biggest one-day percentage losses in two years after a surge in coronavirus cases outside China fanned worries about the global economic impact of a potential pandemic.
We have a prophetic “anchor”…a fundamental sign, missing throughout all of Church history, until our day. This sign is the rebirth of Israel as a nation. Many of the OT prophets foresaw the in-gathering of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland in the latter days. [Jeremiah 30; Isaiah 43:5-6; Amos 9:14-15; and many others]. Isaiah prophesied the nation’s rebirth in a single rhetorical question, “Can a nation be born in a day?” [ Isaiah 66:8]. One hundred years ago Israel, (then called “Palestine” by the Romans, as an insult to the Jews), was a barren, sparsely inhabited province in the Ottoman empire, and Jerusalem was hardly ever mentioned in conversation unless someone was reading scripture. Today, Israel is a thriving resurrected nation, reclaimed from desolation, established in one single day, (May 14, 1948), and Jerusalem is in virtually every daily newspaper, the subject of intense controversy throughout the civilized world. This one sign assures us that we are really and truly living at the end of this age of the Gentiles. Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
