A flower for you! From: Worthy Brief <worthybrief@worthynetwork.com>
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.I heard a story about a man who was imprisoned during Napoleon’s reign. While sulking in his dungeon one day, he etched on the wall the words “Nobody Cares”. A few weeks later, through a crack in the dungeon floor, a little green shoot sprang forth, reaching toward the tiny ray of sunlight that came from his small prison cell window. The prisoner began giving a portion of his daily water to the little shoot and it began to grow. One morning the man awoke to a beautiful flower. A tear rolling down his face, he crossed out the words, “Nobody Cares” and replaced them with “God Cares.” The story goes on to tell that His devotion to the flower was reported to the Empress Josephine. She was so very moved that she convinced Napoleon to set the man free. How many times do we feel like “Nobody Cares”? God has planted little shoots of hope in each and every one of our difficult circumstances — do you know that? Perhaps we’re stepping on them, not even noticing they exist. Perhaps we’re pulling the shoots before they spring forth into beautiful flowers.
God wants us to be released from our prisons of despair. Look around! See what God has planted since the beginning of time especially for us today. Be encouraged!
Today’s Scripture, From a ministry in Texas, Well Worth considering….
Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Romans 12:2, MSG
It’s Not Worth It. There’s a price to pay to become all we were created to be. You may not be able to do what others do, to watch what they watch, or to do your business as they do business. To always do the right thing, you’ll need to go the extra mile. People may not understand why you won’t talk behind someone else’s back, or why you won’t slack off at work with them, or why you won’t laugh about certain things. It’s not our business to judge them, but don’t become like them. Don’t lower your standard. Value God’s blessing more than what another person thinks of you. If you don’t feel good about something, if you have to talk yourself into it and make excuses as to why it’s okay, it’s not worth it. You’ll never go wrong taking the high road. Have a made-up mind. “I’m going to be a person of integrity and honor God in all I do. I’m not going to compromise what I know God says.” Be the person whom God rewards.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that when I fix my attention on You and do what’s right, You change me from the inside out. I’m not going to be pressured into compromising, and I’m not going to live like everyone else. I will not lower my standard to please someone else. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”Ken’s thoughts, We must now learn not to be manipulated or re-directed by the enemy of our souls. This is a time for dumping what ever is not of Christ Jesus. And for dumping any love that we have for this world including our fears or pride. The world is passing away, and with it, many that we love and especially if family. Seems we are entering into the time of stress, Matt.24, Mark 13, Luke 21 as the Church of Christ Jesus is about to be born into the Kingdom of God and it is not comfortable. So if we look at it in the Holy Spirit , our life process is now for our purification and sanctification. As the judgment first begins at the house of God. “For it is the time [destined] for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not respect or believe or obey the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17. So: “Do not love the world [of sin that opposes God and His precepts], nor the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust and sensual craving of the flesh and the lust and longing of the eyes and the boastful pride of life [pretentious confidence in one’s resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father, but are from the world. 17 The world is passing away, and with it its lusts [the shameful pursuits and ungodly longings]; but the one who does the will of God and carries out His purposes lives forever.” 1 John 2:15-17
So if we make friends with the world then we tend to become like the world and eventually that feels like it is normal to us. And if we gain the acceptance of the world, as John tells us, we will miss the Kingdom of God. That we will get use to the kingdom of this world with it’s pride, self-centeredness and disobedience and become just like it. But when the Church goes home it goes home in Victory ( Rom. 8 ) and will look exactly like Jesus in the Holy Spirit. It will be without spot, wrinkle or blemish and be totally ready to go home at the Rapture.. If fact, Apostle Paul tell us very clearly that if we don’t suffer persecution something is wrong with our Christian walk, so called. “Indeed, all who delight in pursuing righteousness and are determined to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be hunted and persecuted [because of their faith]. 13 But evil men and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced [holding tightly to the truths], knowing from whom you learned them, 15 and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings (Hebrew Scriptures) which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus [surrendering your entire self to Him and having absolute confidence in His wisdom, power and goodness]. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the [a] man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Tim.2:12-17. So making Jesus only your savior, is not enough. He must also be your LORD, Roman 10:9-10. Not preached much, but good solid Bible if you care to look.
