HEART FAITH     “WORTH   CONSIDERING” 8/19/20    From Ken<><

Today’s Scripture   (Across my desk this morning from a Church in Texas.)
“…But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart…”  (Luke 2:19, NIV)

Treasure Up These Things
Mary was engaged to the man of her dreams when the angel appeared and said she was going to have a baby, the Messiah, without knowing a man. We focus on how amazing that supernatural birth was and forget that she had to explain that to her fiancé, Joseph, who would in all likelihood call off the wedding. She had to accept the fact that for her whole life she would have to put up with shameful rumors and negative comments about who the father was. She could have easily been defensive, cynical, and bitter. But today’s Scripture says she took in all that God had said and “pondered it in her heart.” She thought about it over and over. What she kept close to her heart was what God promised her.  When worries come, people are spreading rumors about you, or a loss happens, keep what God has promised and said about you close to your heart. You will rise above the negative.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I can shut the door on the negative that comes against me and keep what You have promised and said about me close to my heart. Thank You that none of these things need move me. I believe that I will rise about the negatives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ken’s Comments:
First thing to come to mind: Proverbs 23:7 in context: “ Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:  7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.  8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.”  We are looking here at hypocrisy just the opposite of Mary upon considering what the angel had just said to her. She pondered the words spoken to her in her heart, not her head.  And she came up with the right answer.  She did not run off to get an abortion and murder the Messiah and Savior of mankind.  Probably because she spent time in the Old Testament and knew a good bit about GOD and how HE works.

So how many decisions do we really ponder in our hearts to get GOD’S point of view?  Concerning our nations politics how many have pondered Romans 13 for some anointed words to help us keep a good heart attitude about it?   Not many, look at the mess in our cities.  And the cross words at the dinner table.  There is an old expression for this of being “half cocked” And it pertains to a gun having the hammer back ½ way.  That means is only partly ready, poorly prepared which often changes things for the worse.  It is sometimes a safe feature and sometimes not.  Really dangerous with both possibilities if not knowing the difference.

The library of the 66 books of our Holy Bible is an exceptional collection of available information of what is safe and what is not.  If we care to learn about the past it is all together possible to avoid the same mistakes in the future.  Paul put it this way to Timothy 4:13, “Until I come, devote yourself to public reading [of Scripture], to preaching and to teaching [the sound doctrine of God’s word].  And in 2 Tim. 3:15 in Paul’s second letter: “and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings (Hebrew Scriptures) which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus [surrendering your entire self to Him and having absolute confidence in His wisdom, power and goodness]. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the [a]man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”   And of course Paul was writing about the Messianic Prophesy’s in the Old Testament.  Every thing that Jesus taught can be found hidden in the Old Testament.   The New Testament makes them much easier to find but our Creator buried HIS truth all through the Old Testament scriptures.   He hid HIS truth for those who would ask, knock and seek to know HIM.  For the kids (souls) who would be looking for HIS light in our dark world.  In that way HIS judgment would not be so severe on those who rather loved the darkness than the light.  We will all be judged for what we know as compared with what we did with what we know.

Our Creators vision for us is to lovingly train us, through HIS grace to become like HIM because we want to be like HIM and with HIM and help HIM in any way that we can.  Jesus came into the world to save sinners and set them free to serve GOD with all their heart.   This also must become our vision in HIM if we belong to HIM?  We are to become an extension of HIM in loving the lost for HIM.  Mary was willing to take all of the rejection for being a virgin and yet with child in a small village because in her heart she knew it was for GOD her Creator that she loved.  Each one of us have a design factor created in us for what the Holy Spirit would like us to do for Christ Jesus.  So have you found and  pondered HIS vision for you?  You are created for a Divine purpose.  Perhaps you need to spend some time with the Holy Spirit to find out what it is.

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org
