FORGIVENESS

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,  John 3:16-18

FORGIVENESS:    “WORTH CONSIDERING”
8/29/19    (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” (Luke 7:47,
Love Much

Did you know that forgiveness opens the door for love to operate in your life? In this Scripture passage, Jesus was at a Pharisee’s house when “a certain immoral woman” came in and poured a jar of expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet and began to wash them with her tears and her hair. The religious leaders were shocked that Jesus would allow this “sinner” to touch Him. But she knew she was forgiven. When she received Christ’s forgiveness, love was the automatic response. She was forgiven of much, and she loved and longed to please Him.

Do you want more love in your life? Do you want to feel more of God’s love and have stronger relationships with the people around you? Open your heart to forgiveness. Receive Christ’s forgiveness and extend it to others. When you are forgiven much, you will love much. As Christ’s love flows through you, your faith will be strengthened, your hope will be renewed, and you will be empowered to live the abundant life He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for Your forgiveness which opens the door for Your love to flow through me. Show me Your love and help me to be a light and example of love everywhere I go in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
When Christ Jesus gave us an example of how to pray,  one of the serious provision was that our forgiveness with HIM was totally dependent upon how we treated others in forgiveness.  In other words as we cut others some “slack” HE would do the same for use.  And that there was no justification for holding other accountable or manipulating them by the past.  Unforgiveness and Trust are not the same.  And often we can lie to ourselves about unforgiveness and still talk stink about them or try to bring others into your point of view to try to hurt them.  And all of this while GOD is trying to teach us to love your enemies and do good to them.  Long term feuds and vendettas only create bitterness and seed more pain.  The very best way to get rid of your enemies is to make friends of them.

And a lot of our dark attitudes of unforgiveness come from not fully realizing where we would be before the Throne of God without the forgiveness provided by the death of Christ Jesus,  Rom.10:9-10.  In Rev. 22:10-17 without Christ Jesus, this would be our lot.  So if we would see our many sins as GOD sees them,  we would live in a world of forgiveness and love towards one another.  When the Roman Guys were driving the nails into the feet of Jesus,  HE was more concerned about their souls going to hell than He was the extreme pain HE was suffering in his feet.  And HE is set for our example.  We have much to grow in this room to experience HIS Freedom in this area of our sanctification.  So let the pains of the past go… give them to Christ Jesus and find HIS love and blessings for your tomorrow’s.

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org

11 He who is unrighteous (unjust, wicked), let him be unrighteous still; and he who is filthy (vile, impure), let him be filthy still; and he who is righteous (just, upright, in right standing with God), let him do right still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still.  12 Behold, I am coming soon, and I shall bring My wages and rewards with Me, to repay and render to each one just what his own actions and his own work merit.  13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last (the Before all and the End of all).  14 Blessed (happy and [a]to be envied) are those who cleanse their garments, that they may have the authority and right to [approach] the tree of life and to enter through the gates into the city.  15 [But] without are the dogs and those who practice sorceries (magic arts) and impurity [the lewd, adulterers] and the murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and deals in falsehood (untruth, error, deception, cheating).  16 I, Jesus, have sent My messenger (angel) to you to witness and to give you assurance of these things for the churches (assemblies). I am the Root (the Source) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and brilliant Morning Star.  17 The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, the true Christians) say, Come! And let him who is listening say, Come! And let everyone come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of his need [b]of those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, and strengthened]; and whoever [earnestly] desires to do it, let him come, take, appropriate, and drink the water of Life without cost.
