COMMANDMENTS

Commandments                 “Worth Considering”          2/3/23

In the Bible the word Commandments is used directly 168 time and indirectly much more.

Jesus taught:   “1If you ask Me anything in My name [as My representative], I will do it. “If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments.  And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [a] Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—   The person who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him [I will make Myself real to him].”  If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.

So of the about one thousand commandments that Jesus gave us to do, how are you doing?  Of course this also includes what the Holy Spirit gave to the apostles to share with us as well.

One of the ones that got hold of me early in my early Christian walk was: “And these things give in charge, (as a commandment) that they may be blameless.  But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.  1 Tim. 5:7-9,   I ended up with 8 kids, this one got me going early in the morning and up late at night to make sure that I covered all of the bases for my big family.   We never missed a meal, kept warm all winter and never an unpaid bill as it was a good partnership in the LORD and HE did keep His end.   “But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil.  4:19.  So if your not covering your bases, something is wrong in the Commandment area.

Making Jesus LORD, Master/Boss is the process of Sanctification (to make holy) many of us thought that when we made Jesus our Savior, we had it made.   But actually that was only the beginning of the walk on the straight and narrow road to being changed to be like Jesus.   “ Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.  1 John 4:17.   Even at 90 now, most every day, I take inventory to see if I got off the straight and narrow way and need to repent and ask forgiveness for thoughts and deeds that were not like Jesus.  Of course I am walking close to eternity now,  that makes it a bit easier..

Jesus warned us: “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.   Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?   And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.   Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:” Matt.7:20-24

So being a Christian is more than even keeping the Commandments of Christ Jesus but also entering into a real spiritual relationship with HIM like the Holy Spirit was taking to me this morning and I was trying to remember it all, but had to say, to HIM, you got to help me later when I need to write this down as I can not remember it all.  My little container is overflowing.

In Considering Commandments we are also considering Truth and Obedience.   We have a built in resistance to change.   Our ego/pride factor that we got from Adam is still in good working order.   So the concept of repenting and change goes against our very nature.  And even if it is good for us.    “or they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.  Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.  Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; Heb. 12:10-12.    By this we know [without any doubt] that we love the children of God: [expressing that love] when we love God and obey His commandments. 3 For the [true] love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments and His precepts are not difficult [to obey]. 4 For [a] everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].  1John 5:3   “ And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.”  1 Jn. 1:6

In Matt. 6 Christ Jesus our LORD gives us a lot of HIS commandments including a sample of how to pray.   “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.   And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.   And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”   Be a good idea to brush up on the Holy Commandments that we are to follow if we really have made Christ Jesus or LORD.   It is a real relationship through the Holy Spirit, it is not just a piece of paper on the wall that looks official.   Our Creator God of making a family to which you have been invited in love.  But He also wants a house of loving unity and righteousness.   He will not allow those who have abused this world to bring their trash into HIS world.   All trash and those who love to make trash will all end up at the dump for eternity.    Yours, In HIS great LOVE.   Ken<><   www.OhanaChurch.Life

I get these QUORA questions in my email just about every day now,  this was a good one.
QUORA 1/28/23   What are two principles in ecologism that reject each other?   ANSWER:
Atheism/Evolution  /  God/Creation….  As a Bible Christian I believe that the world was created to do exactly what is is doing and that the resources will last as long as needed to complete the vision for the purpose of the creation.  So I have no concern about ecologism.  From a Biblical perspective we were created in a temporary time dimension with a temporary body for the purpose of giving our eternal souls an opportunity to learn to use our freewill in a positive and loving manor.  We need to learn to live with our Creator as a family and to become like HIM.  And in 7,000 yrs that temporary dimension will close.  From Adam we are about 6,000 years into the process like a 7 day week of 1,000 years.  In the process our Creator will have given us every opportunity to seek, knock and ask for HIS help in finding HIS needed grace to make the jump to His light speed.  Most are not interested as Jesus taught that only a few would find the WAY…  Only the those who seek and find the way will be given a new eternal body for their eternal souls.  The Creator will have no use for those who in pride and rebellion have turned this temporary time world in to dump heap.  And there is no second chance on the other side of death.  That is what the prophets of GOD say to me in the Holy Scriptures.   Ken<><
