WALKING ON WATER

WALKING ON WATER,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”
6/13/19   (Across my desk this morning.)

Today’s Scripture
“They saw the works of the Lord, his wonderful deeds in the deep.”  (Psalm 107:24, NIV)

When You’re in Deep
The Scripture says, “They that go down to the sea and do business in deep waters. They will see the wonders of God” (Psalm 107). Friend, you and I were created to do business in deep waters. In other words, we’re not supposed to have little dreams or little plans. We are supposed to have big dreams. We are supposed to go out into the deep things God has for us.

But understand, when you’re out there in the deep waters, you can’t touch the bottom. You can’t see the shoreline, and at times, it can get a little rocky. You may not always see how things are going to work out. But the Scripture tells us that deep calls to deep. In other words, God is the One who has called you to the deep waters. He is with you, and He knows there are deep things inside you. Remember, in deep waters, you are not alone. God is with you, and He’s causing those deep things that are inside you to come forth.

If you feel like you are out in the deep today, if you feel overwhelmed, remember, you are in the right place and God is with you. You will see His wonderful deeds in the deep, and you will fulfill the plan He has in store for you.

A Prayer for Today
“Father in heaven, I surrender every area of my life to You. I hunger for every single thing You have in store for me. I choose to trust You out in the deep waters knowing that You have good things in store for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
Immediately,  my thoughts went to Jesus and Peter and as the story was told:
Matthew 14:24-36
Amplified Bible (AMP)24 But the boat [by this time] was already a [a]long distance from land, tossed and battered by the waves; for the wind was against them.  25 And in the fourth watch of the night (3:00-6:00 a.m.) Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. 26 When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear. 27 But immediately He spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I! Do not be afraid!”28 Peter replied to Him, “Lord, if it is [really] You, command me to come to You on the water.”  29 He said, “Come!” So Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw [the effects of] the wind, he was frightened, and he began to sink, and he cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus extended His hand and caught him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you [b]doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those in the boat worshiped Him [with awe-inspired reverence], saying, “Truly You are the Son of God!”34 When they had crossed over [the sea], they went ashore at Gennesaret.   35 And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent word throughout all the surrounding district and brought to Him all who were sick;  36 and they begged Him to let them merely touch the fringe of His robe; and all who touched it were perfectly restored.

So seems to me in 2,000 years we have really drifted a far piece from what is the “REAL FAITH.”   that Christ Jesus and Paul write about in Matt:14:12 and Heb. 11 and in 2 Tim.3:5 as to what it is and is not.    Ever gone to the beach and tried to walk on the water???  when no one was watching??  I have,  LOL..   So how do we get from where we are to where we are suppose to be into doing
what Jesus did?   Matt.14:12:   Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Seems to me that we have tried to make ourselves look good outside without the battles of changing that are needed inside.  That there is a certain amount of hypocrisy in the church today that is acceptable as our religious social comfort zone has adapted to this world.  Seems we are going to need to trash just about everything that we have learned as traditional church if we want to secure the “Real Faith” that Jesus teaches about.   And I am still in the boat with you and the rest of the disciples…  actually Peter is the fist and only one who that I know of that got far enough into the Kingdom and Real Faith to walk on water besides Christ Jesus.  So do we buckle down,  clean house and seek the Holy Spirit on how to have this kind of “Real Faith”  or do we simply modify our comfort zone so as to again and again shelve this challenge to live peacefully in our comfort zone?   I had to get into the water to learn to swim.  Perhaps we need to get deeper into the WORD OF GOD to grow in “Real Faith” with an expectancy to enjoy the supernatural of GOD’S LOVE?

CIVIL WAR IN THE U.S.A.

NOTE: For ten years THERE HAVE been publishing warnings of civil conflict in the USA. A decade ago these warnings seemed very unlikely - even ridiculous. But today nobody is laughing. What is our focus? Are we already at "war" in some way? Why are Christians so totally distracted from their mission - fighting earthly battles instead of spreading the gospel? Why so obsessed with left-right tirades while the 'harvest' takes a back seat? There is nothing the devil would love more than to have the Christians caught up in politics, rather than the kingdom. A total distraction. - Andrew Strom.

LIGHT

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,  John 3:16

LIGHT       “WORTH CONSIDERING”    6/10/19,   (Found in my mail box tonight from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“When darkness overtakes him, light will come bursting in.”(Psalm 112:4, TLB)

Light in the Darkness
Everyone goes through night seasons of difficulty or times when things just seem dark. During these challenging times, know that you are not alone. God has a plan to drive out the darkness—He will flood you with His light! Notice that in today’s verse it doesn’t say, “The light will come trickling in.” No, it says that the light will come bursting in! It’s going to happen suddenly, unexpectedly; you won’t see it coming. You woke up, and it was still dark. Nothing had changed, but suddenly you get the break you need, your health turns around, you meet the right person. The light comes bursting in.

If you’ve been going through a night season, get ready for the goodness of God in a new way. Know that His light is about to come bursting in! Get ready for breakthroughs. Get ready for promotion. Get ready for restoration. You may have had that problem for a long, long time, but today could be the day that it turns around. Suddenly, things can change! God wants His glory to be seen on you. He wants you to stand out in the crowd. He wants you to be so blessed that everyone around you can see His goodness on you! So keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping and keep declaring His Word because His light is going to come bursting in!

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your light that drives out every trace of darkness! I choose to expect Your goodness. I choose to focus on Your faithfulness. I trust that You are working behind the scenes, and I expect that You will turn things around for my good in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
You know, some things can be read a couple of different ways.  That part that is written,” HE want’s you to stand out in the crowd” can be full of pride or Jesus.  But then it goes on to read, the everyone can see HIS goodness on you.  So then we are OK.   I get nervous if folks start giving me GODS GLORY,  dangerous stuff.

But as things are now I go fishing for folks that are looking for light just about every day.  Big table for breakfast at Denny’s this morning across from us,  nice orderly local family of 8.  And while we were eating breakfast the Holy Spirit seemed to say to me,  “Make a paper airplane.”  So I did out of my “Let there be light tracts.”  And then it set on the table and I ate my whole meal.  But the 7 year old across from me never looked my way so no contact…..  But then as I left I walked (limped) over to their table and showed the little plane to mom and ask her permission,  she said yes.   Jr. grabbed the little plane and was off in his F-35.  The whole table lit up to thank me for the little gift of love and Jr. went home with God’s Light tucked inside his little paper airplane.   On the outside of the paper airplane is says,  “Let There Be Light”  If you got one, would you not want to find out what is says?   And here is what it says:

Let There Be Light
And God said, let there be light and there was light: (1).   Arise, shine: for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee (2).    Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead and Christ shall give thee light (3). This is the message which we have heard and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all (4).   He that doeth the truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God  (5).   If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin (6). This is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil (7).   For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved (8). But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (9).  Thy Light shall break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward (10).  Ye are the light of the world.  A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. (11).  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light (12).  The city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the Light thereof (13).  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever (14).

I really like fishing with the WORD OF GOD and HIS Bible says that he will always let me catch some fish.  I am into my 3 printing now of 1,000 each time at .10 cents each.   So here is a wonderful way of having a ton of fun in the Spirit in giving out GOD’S Light for only .10 cents.   If you like the idea get some printed for yourself and have some real fun in the Holy Spirit in turning on some lights and making some kids happy.
I have never had one rejected or turned down.  Had one read in McDonald’s, out loud, in the middle of the dining area.   A story for another time.

YES !!! and Happy Pentecost to you all…
.  Always good to go back and remember the time when the Holy Spirit was sent to build the CHURCH of Christ Jesus and to remember:   “There is but one CHURCH of CHRIST JESUS and all who LOVE and OBEY HIM are members.”  And really the only sure way to know how the LORD,  Christ Jesus wants us to live and what He wants us to do is to immerse ourselves in the New Testament.   Yours, In HIS great love,  Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org

Read slowly and carefully as your eternity depends on you getting this right in the Holy Spirit.

In the Amplified Bible Here is how LUKE writes that it all started:

Acts 1 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Introduction

The first [a]account I made, Theophilus, was [a continuous report] about all the things that Jesus began to do and to [b]teach until the day when He ascended to heaven, after He had by the Holy Spirit given instruction to the apostles (special messengers) whom He had chosen. To these [men] He also showed Himself alive after His suffering [in Gethsemane and on the cross], by [a series of] many infallible proofs and unquestionable demonstrations, appearing to them over a period of forty days and talking to them about the things concerning the kingdom of God. While being together and eating with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Of which,” He said, “you have heard Me speak. For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit, not long from now.”

So when they had come together, they asked Him repeatedly, “Lord, are You at this time reestablishing the kingdom and restoring it to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority. But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”

The Ascension

And after He said these things, He was caught up as they looked on, and a cloud took Him up out of their sight. 10 While they were looking intently into the sky as He was going, two men in white clothing suddenly stood beside them, 11 who said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This [same] Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will return in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

The Upper Room

12 Then the disciples returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet (Olive Grove), which is near Jerusalem, [only] a Sabbath day’s journey (less than one mile) away. 13 When they had entered the city, they went upstairs to the upper room where they were staying [indefinitely]; that is, Peter, and John and [his brother] James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew (Nathanael) and Matthew, [c]James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas (Thaddaeus) the son of James. 14 All these with one mind and one purpose were continually devoting themselves to prayer, [waiting together] along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

The Day of Pentecost

When the day of [a]Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place, and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed [among them], and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit]. And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other [b]tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately].

Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout and God-fearing men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound was heard, a crowd gathered, and they were bewildered because each one was hearing those in the upper room speaking in his own language or dialect. They were completely astonished, saying, “Look! Are not all of these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears in our own language or native dialect? [Among us there are] Parthians, Medes and Elamites, and people of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and [c]Asia [Minor], 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya around Cyrene, and the visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes (Gentile converts to Judaism), 11 Cretans and Arabs—we all hear them speaking in our [native] tongues about the mighty works of God!” 12 And they were beside themselves with amazement and were greatly perplexed, saying one to another, “What could this mean?” 13 But others were laughing and joking andridiculing them, saying, “They are full of sweet wine and are drunk!”

Peter’s Sermon

14 But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be explained to you; listen closely and pay attention to what I have to say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you assume, since it is [only] the third hour of the day (9:00 a.m.); 16 but this is [the beginning of] what was spoken of through the prophet Joel:

17
And it shall be in the last days,’ says God,
That I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind;
And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
And your young men shall see [divinely prompted] visions,
And your old men shall dream [divinely prompted] dreams;
18
Even on My bond-servants, both men and women,
I will in those days pour out My Spirit
And they shall prophesy.
19
And I will bring about wonders in the sky above
And signs (attesting miracles) on the earth below,
Blood and fire and smoking vapor.
20
The sun shall be turned into darkness
And the moon into blood,
Before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21
And it shall be that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [ invoking, adoring, and worshiping the Lord Jesus] shall be saved (rescued spiritually).’

22 “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man accredited and pointed out and attested to you by God with [the power to perform] miracles and wonders and signs which God worked through Him in your [very] midst, just as you yourselves know— 23 this Man, when handed over [to the Roman authorities] according to the predetermined decision and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross and put to death by the hands of lawless and godless men. 24 But God raised Him up, releasing Him and bringing an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in death’s power. 25 For David says of Him,

I saw the Lord constantly before me;
For He is at my right hand, so that I will not be shaken [from my state of security].
26
Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue exulted exceedingly;
Moreover my flesh also will live in hope [that is, will encamp in anticipation of the resurrection];
27
For You will not forsake me and abandon my soul to Hades (the realm of the dead),
Nor let Your Holy One undergo decay [after death].
28
You have made known to me the ways of life;
You will fill me [infusing my soul] with joy with Your presence.’

29 “Brothers, I may confidently and freely say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 And so, being a prophet and knowing fully that God had sworn to him with an oath that He would seat one of his descendants on his throne, 31 he foresaw and spoke [prophetically] of the resurrection of the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), that He was not abandoned [in death] to Hades (the realm of the dead), nor did His body undergo decay. 32 God raised this Jesus [bodily from the dead], and of that [fact] we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore having been exalted [d]to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this [blessing] which you both see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, yet he himself says,

The Lord [the Father] said to my [e]Lord [the Son],
Sit at My right hand,
35
Until I make Your enemies a [f]footstool for Your feet.”’

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel recognize beyond all doubt that God has made Him both Lord and Christ (Messiah, Anointed)—this Jesus whom you crucified.”

The Ingathering

37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart [with remorse and anxiety], and they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what are we to do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is for you and your children and for all who are far away [including the Gentiles], as many as the Lord our God calls to Himself.” 40 And Peter solemnly testified and continued to admonish and urge them with many more words, saying, “[g]Be saved from this crooked and unjust generation!” 41 So then, those who accepted his message were baptized; and on that day about [h]3,000 souls were added [to the body of believers]. 42 They were continually and faithfully devoting themselves to the instruction of the apostles, and to fellowship, to [i]eating meals together and to prayers.

43 A sense of awe was felt by [j]everyone, and many wonders and signs (attesting miracles) were taking place through the apostles. 44 And all those who had believed [in Jesus as Savior] [k]were together and had all things in common [considering their possessions to belong to the group as a whole]. 45 And they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing the proceeds with all [the other believers], as anyone had need. 46 Day after day they met in the temple [area] continuing with one mind, and breaking bread in various private homes. They were eating their meals together with joy and generous hearts, 47 praising God continually, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were being saved.

STRESS / WORRY

ALOHA FRIENDS AND FAMILY,  Beloved of God,  John 3:16,  12:24-26,   17:20-26

STRESS/WORRY,     “WORTH CONSIDERING,
6/7/19   (Across my desk today from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?”(Matthew 6:27, NKJV)

Refuse To Worry!
Worrying gives the devil the opportunity to move, just like worship gives God the opportunity to move. Worrying means to play the enemy’s lies in your mind over and over again. God promises in Isaiah 26:3 that He will keep us in perfect peace when we keep our minds stayed on Him. Pay attention to what is playing in your mind. When you dwell on negative thoughts, you’re not going to have peace. You have to change what you’re dwelling on. So when the opportunity to worry comes, use it as a reminder to worship the Lord and thank Him for His good and precious promises! Cast all of your cares on the Lord because He cares for you!

A Prayer for Today
“God, I am weary from worrying. Please help me to stop the soundtrack of needless worry that plays over and over again in my head. I want to place my fears and concerns in Your hands and live in peace knowing that You will fulfill all of Your precious promises to me. In Jesus’ name – Amen.”

My Thoughts:
As a Christian, I believe what the Bible Teaches is True and that Jesus is building a place for us in HIS Father’s House.   So at 86 now what should I be concerned, stressed or worried about?   Well I could be stressed about getting the barn finished,  the weeds cut,  the bank failing,  and how about a HEMP that destroys all of the computer chips that we now depend upon.  Or how about the bugs coming in from China and Mexico now that are resistant.  And O yes, my wife is on the road a lot trying to help 2 of her grand sons during high traffic hours.  And there is Trump and Mexico and the border… Iran and N. Korea  And this is just a few to begin with…  Want to be full of stress and worry,  you can have a belly full to choose from.

So in 25 years or even 10 how much of this list will still be active,  or even one month.  But as a Christian I am taught to leave the past with GOD (Nothing I can do about it any way.)   And also I am taught not to borrow the speculated problems of tomorrow.  (As usually they never happen anyway.)  So I am left with just today.  But in Roman 8:31,  ….”What shall we then say to these things?  If God be for us, who can be against us.”  In fact in verse Rom. 8:37 my Bible reads:  “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM that loved us.”  Hebrews 11 teaches us that having believing faith can really change the landscape around us for good.

Actually fear, stress and worry can shut down your immune system and erode your health substantially.

Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].

Yours in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><  www.Trinity-Aloha.org

Music of the Church…..

CHURCH MUSIC      Some of the music that was foundational to the 70’s Revivals. Music sung to help us touch the Heavens. “God rejoyces in the praises of his people.”  This is not to be considered a liturgy but it would be helpful to have a song book that would be able to match what the Holy Spirit is guiding a fellowship to do at a given time. Book should be a fleable 3 hole binder to add and remove songs as guided by the Holy Spirit. Follows the pattern of the Tabernacle of Moses in the Wilderness and the Early Church.

FAITH

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,   John 3:16

FAITH     “WORTH CONSIDERING”    6/5/19   (Across my desk today from Joel.   I like most of what he sends out as we need to grow in our faith.   So the stuff from his ministry is very positive though sometimes leaving out needed parts.  A little cotter pin can let a tire leave the cart.  And it must be fixed or the cart is useless.  All else can be in perfect condition.

Today’s Scripture
“The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree…”  (Psalm 92:12, NKJV)

Nothing Can Hold You Back
Have you ever seen a palm tree in the midst of a great storm? Unlike most other trees, the palm tree is able to bend so it will not break. A certain kind of palm can bend over until the top is almost touching the ground, but when the wind finally stops, it bounces right back up. What’s interesting is that while that palm tree is bent over under the pressure of the damaging winds, it’s being pushed and stretched, strengthening the root system and giving it new opportunities for growth.

The reason God said we’d flourish like a palm tree is because He knew there would be difficult times. He knew things would come against us to try to steal our joy and victory. God said, “You’re going to be like a palm tree because after the storms of life blow, you’re going to be stronger, healthier, wiser, better off, and ready for new growth.” God never brings you out the same. He makes the enemy pay for bringing the times of darkness and trouble. What’s meant for your harm He’s going to use to your advantage. It’s not going to break you; it’s going to strengthen you. You’re not only going to still be standing; you’re going to be standing stronger.

A Prayer for Today
“Father in heaven, thank You for making me strong in You. I trust that You are working in my life, even in the midst of the storms. I know You will bring me out stronger, wiser and better off than ever before in Jesus’ name. Amen

My Thoughts:
Good teaching on palm trees and life can be full of the winds of change.   But the palm tree is also dependent on the soil nutrients,  water,  sun and politicization.    The coconut can float in salt water for years and not germinate until there is enough fresh water available.  Sometimes as Christians we float for years in some church structure prior to being able to germinate and produce life by finding some fresh water.  Sometimes there is not the nutrients in the soil to make a good coconut.  So you need to be sure you are being saturated with the vitamins, minerals and trace elements to grow according to your design factor.  Also need to have that fresh water of the Word of God flowing all the time.  Faith (our spiritual food) comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.  It is so easy to get off the narrow way when we are Biblically illiterate.

When checking out the Bible,  it is best to start in the Gospel of John,  the 4th book in the New Testament.   John writes as an old man with an exceptional overview of the life of Christ Jesus.  So you can really get some faithful and easy to understand teachings from John as he recorded what Jesus was teaching.   In John three scriptures I like are John 12:24-26,   John 8.  &  John 17:20-26,   In John 8 there is 3 times that Jesus tells the religious leaders that He is the ” I AM” GOD   who gave Moses the 10 commandments,  see if you can find them.  Also remember that if a word is in italics like  “he”  it means that it is not in the Original Greek Translation.

After digesting and assimilating John the go to Romans.  The Book of Romans was Paul’s effort to help the Jews and Gentiles find God’s salvation and has some very profound teachings on how to grow in Christ Jesus.   Like the Coconut, it must be planted with the point down.   Paul helps us to find our flesh point and to head it towards being buried point down in baptism.

Next I would suggest the Book of Acts as the history of the foundations of the Church of Christ Jesus.   There is but one Church of Christ Jesus and all who LOVE and OBEY HIM are members.   Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org….   Thanks for your prayers,  feeling much better today.

MUSIC OF THE CHURCH

Music can help us touch the Heavens. “God rejoices in the praises of his people.”  This is not to be considered a liturgy but it would be helpful to have a song book that would be able to match what the Holy Spirit is guiding a fellowship to do at a given time.  Book should be a flexable 3 hole binder to add and remove songs as guided by the Holy Spirit.  Follows the pattern of the Tabernacle given by GOD to Moses in the Wilderness and the Holy Spirit in the Early Church.

THE WAY

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,  John 3:16,  12:24-26,   17:20-26

THE WAY,     “WORTH CONSIDERING”     6/4/19    (Across my desk this morning from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”Psa. 37:23

Right this Way!
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord! Many people find it difficult to see themselves as “good” in the eyes of God, but did you know that in the original Greek, this word means “strong like a warrior”? In other words, when you stand strong, when you are willing to fight the good fight of faith, you are giving God something to work with. He is ordering your steps. He’s making a way when there seems to be no way. He’s clearing a path for you, and He is delighting in you. That means He is pleased with your attitude of courage. He is pleased that you are taking a stand for what is right. He is pleased that you are putting Him first place and relying completely on Him. Remember, God loves your passion for Him. He loves it when you come boldly to His throne of grace. He is honored when you stand and fight the good fight of faith. If you are facing difficulty today, know that God wants to lift you up and give you His strength. Receive it by faith today. Dig your heels in knowing that He is ordering your steps; and when God is leading you, He’s always leading you in the path of victory!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for giving me Your supernatural joy and strength. I choose to stand strong in You no matter what is going on around me. I choose Your ways and thank You for ordering my steps. I bless You and praise You for Your goodness and faithfulness in Jesus’ name. Amen

My Thoughts:
The Early Church called being a Christian (slave of Christ) the walk in “THE WAY.”   It came to mean the walk in the right way as opposed to the walk in the flesh or the wrong way.  That Jesus taught that the “WAY” to eternal life with GOD was narrow and difficult to find with many potential detours as in “Pilgrim’s Progress” by John Bunyan, (Should read if you have not.  In Early America three books were chained to the pulpit,  Foxes Book of Martyrs,  The Bible and Pilgrim’s Progress as a must read for new Christians.  But books were too expensive for the poor so they would go to church to read.)  Anyway if you are now a (real) Christian with Christ Jesus as LORD as well as savior,  you are on “The Way.” in your new path or “WAY” into GOD’s light.

So “The Way” was to learn to incorporate the teachings of Christ Jesus in our daily walk in this world as per 1 John 3:17.  Jesus taught over and over that unless we became like HIM,  ingest HIM, assimilate HIM into our daily lives we would not make it into HIS KINGDOM.  That we had to find and keep HIS commandments if we have made HIM LORD.  That we can not serve GOD and mammon (flesh) at the same time.  That we are called into redemption to be sanctified and cleansed for the use of our Heavenly Father.   Which by the way,  will also give us the greatest amount of peace and joy.  That he that does the will of the Father will abide forever.  So as we decide to go for it, go for HIS Truth and Light, then He gives us HIS Holy Spirit and some angels to give us a hand.  We can not do it alone, but in HIM we are more than conqurerers, Rom.8.   So take your very strong will by the back of the neck and find the “Way” in your New Testament, get on the “Way”and stay there.  You will be Oh so glad that you did both in this world and in the world to come.  It will be a battle but you will be on the winning side.

It was interesting for me to find out that the name of our little local area in Hawaiian,   Kealia,  means “The Way”……  Pilgtims Progress is a wonderful story about Pilgrim trying to stay on the “WAY” and great to read to kids for that special time together.

WORDS

ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS,  Beloved of God,  John 3:16

WORDS        “WORTH CONSIDERING”    6/3/19      (Across my desk this morning from Joel,  excellent.)

Today’s Scripture
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”  (John 15:7, NIV)

Remain
In life we all have ups and downs. There are seasons that are more difficult than others, seasons of testing, trials, and temptation where our character is being developed and our faith in God is being strengthened. Sometimes it can feel like you are taking two steps forward and then three steps backward. But if we’re not careful, we’ll start thinking that life is always going to be this way. Even in the strong seasons, you’ll start looking for things to go wrong.

If you are controlled by your circumstances, if you’re up when things are up and down when things don’t go your way, life is going to be a roller coaster. God’s plan is for you to be stable, consistent, not moved by any of these things. Jesus said, “I am the vine. You are the branches. If you abide in Me, you will bear much fruit and your fruit will remain.” The word “remain” means “to be fixed, immovable, not affected by circumstances.” If you will just keep abiding in Him, just keep meditating on His Word, He’ll bring you through. He’ll make you strong; He’ll keep you stable, and you’ll keep moving forward into the life of blessing He has prepared for you!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, today I set my heart and mind on You knowing that You are good and faithful. I trust that as I seek You and put You first, You will direct my steps. I choose to remain in You and follow Your leading in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts:
Today’s scripture has some very deep meaning.   What does it mean to “Remain in Jesus and to be obedient to HIS teachings?”  For most new Christians there is very little change from making Jesus, Savior.   They are told that they are now OK. Come to church and pay your tithes and all is well.  Let’s take a look at the Amplified Bible, “7 If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.   Notice a little more understanding as to what Jesus is saying?  Here is HIS John 17 Prayer and the life time sanctification factor with heart faith.  Is it not a wonder that our prayers get answered at all.  Jesus is telling us that we must change and become like HIM for our prayers to be answered for sure.   Paul puts it this way in Rom. 8.13, “For if you live after the flesh, ye shall die:  but if ye through the Spirit do mortify (put to death) the deeds of the body, ye shall live (have God’s life.)”

So the words out of Peter’s 1st sermon on Pentecost began with “Repent.”   Cut loose your old attitudes and ways of doing things.  If you are in Christ you are a new creation,  the old is passing away and the new life is before you.  If Christ Jesus in now your LORD,  MASTER then it is very needful to find out how we are to serve HIM.  Jesus said,  “He that hath my commandments and keeps them loves HIM.   And whoever loves HIM will be loved of The Heavenly Father.  That is one of the reasons I keep posting:

“There is but one CHURCH of Christ Jesus and all who love and obey HIM are members.
And any Elder that is really Anointed of the Holy Spirit will try to help you do exactly that.

Yours, in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org

TONGUES

TONGUES     “WORTH CONSIDERING”   6/2/19  (Long but worth the time.)

In the Sunday’s liberal newspaper of West Hawaii Today there was this cartoon,  “DILBERT”  Such good thought went in the the humor of that cartoon I could not help but laugh and it got me started on this subject.  Most of us have fallen into the trap of “coloring” the truth a little or lie as the case may be.  It is interesting that the Bible has a lot to share about telling the truth.   Abraham got into trouble, David got into trouble and of course Peter was not to be left out for lying.

Of course the Big Ten commands us not to lie…  But sometimes we skid around the corners when we ask someone how they are feeling when we really don’t care.  Or we tell them fine when we are dying of cancer and have a few weeks to live.  Or we listen and nod yes while we are totally thinking about something else.  Including church, business, activities or home,  I am not sure that I know of any one who is really totally truthful.  Personally I am trying to think ahead about what I am about to say now with a filter or check of truth before I speak and so it would seem I am not talking as much as I use to.  Of course the Bible says to be quick to listen and slow to speak, anyway.

As the Christ, is also named the WORD of GOD would mean that our Creator has a great deal of concern about the power of what is said.  In Proverbs 18:21 it is said this way, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”  In fact it is our heart confession by tongue that Christ Jesus becomes our LORD and part of getting saved from the eternal hell of outer darkness.  We are instructed to keep our communications simple: James 5:12 “Rather let your “Yes” be · yes and your “No,” no, so that you may not fall under judgment.”  The seventh deadly sin is of the tongue in Prov. 6:19,  “A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.  James 3:4-6 tells us about his experiences,  “4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.  5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!  6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.  and goes on from there,  need to read the whole chapter 3, several times.  And James concludes with the beautiful wisdom: ” 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy (acting or lying.)  18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

It is my supposition that tongues is listed in the gifts of the Spirit as most difficult to control.  As we bring our tongue under the obedience of Christ Jesus then as per the Holy Scriptures,  HE give HIS Holy Spirit to them who Obey Him and we receive the empowering of the Holy Spirit and a prayer language.   There is a big difference between speaking out of the resources of our heads or speaking as anointed by the Holy Spirit.   Our head speech can take up valuable time, miss opportunities and take communications off course from what the Holy Spirit want to do and where HE want to go.   When we speak as moved by the Holy Spirit there is mercy, good fruits, peace and Christ Jesus is lifted up.  As a gathering comes into unity where the Holy Spirit is in charge folks are saved, empowered, delivered and healed  and the power of the HOLY SPIRIT is obvious and draws all souls unto Jesus.   But with Head or worldly flesh speech it draws people into lifting up the speaker and there is little power.   Pride speech can confuse a gathering and waste valuable time.  And Holy Spirit Speech is always full of the exceptional use of Holy Scripture.

Tongues was one of the 1st major curses that GOD placed on planet earth due to pride and rebellion.  You can read about it in Gen.11:6-7 and notice that they were using their unified tongue in a negative way to be like GOD.  So we are challenged in John 17 by our LORD, CHRIST JESUS to find UNITY in God’s Loving Truth,  speak the same thing and bring the world back for HIM.   Adam gave the world to Lucifer,  we, as the Church in Christ Jesus,  get to take it back and return it to Christ Jesus and our Heavenly Father. This is all of God’s eternal vision for us in allowing us to learn how to use our free will in obedience.   This will also make us ready to learn how to live in HIS Eternal Kingdom and timeless dimension.  And of course, this is up to us wanting it.  All that remains for us to do is to say yes to HIS light and HE will assist us in finding our way to HIS HOME and OURS.

So experiencing the empowering of the Holy Spirit with a prayer language is just the beginning in exploring all of the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit.  A gift is received and given it is not a ministry.  As HIS Church we are invited to explore and reach out for all 9 gifts of the Spirit.  But the call to a given ministry, Eph. 4:11,  is a totally different issue in the Holy Spirit.  But if the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit are in place then the world get to Christ Jesus, high and lifted up.  The Elders are there to help teach and keep HIS CHURCH from wild fire.  The demonic counterfeits that look spiritual but are not.

So we by faith come to Christ Jesus as LORD to begin the walk of salvation as we follow the light that we see in the creation and the the Holy Scriptures.  We then by faith bury our flesh inheritance from old man Adam in baptism;  then we can ask and received the empowering of the Holy Spirit as we come into humility and obedience to the Holy Spirit, Lk.11:9-13.  Every True Believer should know this 3 fold experience foundationally.  This begins the process of sanctification to help us become like Jesus.   And it is not how we start that counts but how we end up at our final graduation.  James 1:12  Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.  2 Tim. 4:6-8, 6 (Paul) For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

So we, through the knowledge of the WORD of GOD and the Holy Spirit learn to speak for GOD : ” … he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.” 1 Cor 14:3 or  “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine, 2 Tim.4:2.  And carefully study, 1 Cor.14: whole chapter (23-33):   23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?  24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:  25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.  26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.  27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.  30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

This is not an easy study and I am totally open to helping if I can.  But it is imperative that you assimilate this basic information if you would like to spend eternity with GOD in heaven.

Yours, In HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy,   Ken<><   www.Trinity-Aloha.org
