ANSWERED PRAYERS:     “WORTH CONSIDERING”
9/12/19  (Across my desk this evening.)

Today’s Scripture
“Depart from here and turn eastward and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan…”   (1 Kings 17:3, ESV)
Go To The Place of Blessing

In the Scripture, the prophet Elijah was living in a certain city. God said to him, “Leave this place and go down to the brook Cherith for I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.” When he got to the brook, every morning just like clockwork, the ravens brought him food. He had his provision; a prepared blessing. Here’s the key: Elijah didn’t have to try to find the ravens. He just had to get to where God wanted him to be and the ravens found him.

In the same way, there is a place where God has commanded you to be blessed. Everything you need to fulfill your destiny has already been laid up for you—provision, favor, abundance. The real question today is, will you do what’s required to get to your place of blessing? Elijah could have said, “God, I don’t want to leave. I like it here. My friends are here.” But if he had stayed, he would have missed where he was commanded to be blessed.

Are you willing to do what God is asking you to do today? Listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit inside, follow His leading, and enter into the place of blessing!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for leading me to a place of blessing. Thank You for sustaining me and empowering me to fulfill Your call on my life. I choose to follow Your leading so that I can be in the place You’ve called me to in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My Thoughts.
This is great to consider and works really well …… “IF”   we really know the voice of God through the Holy Spirit.   So not only is humility and obedience involved with Elijah but also clear hearing.   God does not answer prayers that originate from our carnal nature that we got from GGGranddaddy Adam,  “I want what I want when I want it.”   And God does not answer Vanity prayers to just make us look good to others.   James does share that we are like Elijah as being cut from similar cloth.  But Elijah is recorded of James as being a Sanctified or Righteous man and it goes like this:

“Is anyone among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil)? He should pray. Is anyone glad at heart? He should sing praise [to God].  14 Is anyone among you sick? He should call in the church elders (the spiritual guides). And they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Lord’s name.  15 And the prayer [that is] of faith will save (heal) him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.  16 Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].  17 Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months.  James 5:13-17.

So we need to know the New Testament really well to strain out the static from the world, flesh and the devil that we hear in our minds.   And if we walk in God’s Truth in loving humility, faith and obedience then our prayers will be answered like Elijah.  And don’t get discouraged,  keep working on it,  it is of God for us to learn how to really pray and get answers.  He is really delighted when we line up with HIM and ask for help according to HIS will,  Luke 11:9-13,
