FOREKNOWLEDGE, “WORTH CONSIDERING” 4/16/20 From Ken<><
Today’s Scripture (In my emails from Texas this morning, really an important read.)
“.Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” Prov.19:21
Pushed into Our Purpose
Sometimes God will let us be uncomfortable for a dark, difficult period so He can bless us later on. He’ll close a door, which we don’t like, but later on He’ll open a bigger door. God is not as concerned about our comfort as He is about our purpose. There are times when He will shake things up to force us to change. His goal is not to make our life miserable; He’s pushing us into our purpose.
Not every closed door is a bad thing. If God had not shut that door, we would have been satisfied to stay where we were. Not every time a person walks away from us is a tragedy. God knows we won’t move forward without a push. You have too much potential, too much talent, too much in you to get stuck where you are. He’ll put you in situations that make you stretch, make you grow, make you spread your wings.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You know what’s best for me, and You’re pushing, stretching, and enlarging me for a reason. Thank You for closed doors as well as open doors. I believe that You have something bigger, something better, something more rewarding up in front of me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Ken’s Thoughts:
A lot of DEEP theology in this note today. Much of it has to do with our limited understanding of foreknowledge, Rom.8:29. Is God’s foreknowledge limited or is it absolute? The Bible teaches that God’s foreknowledge is absolute. So like an architect building a skyscraper HE knew exactly what HE was going to build long before HE converted the first bit of energy into matter. He knew what lucifer would do with freewill and what Adam would do and how that Jesus would clean up the mess and still allow for us all to have an UN-manipulated freewill to make a personal decision between The Light and The Darkness. And also be able to LOVE. He knew what you would do before you were created including the use of your own free will. And HE gave every soul that HE created the same freewill options of choice so all are accoutable. He even answered our prayers before we knew to pray them. From God’s point of view there is no doubt at all as to which souls are HIS Elect from HIS perspective in HIS dimension of Eternity. But from our point of view in our dimension of Time, we are working it out in absolute freewill. And our point of reference at death will be eternal for all. We are passing through time as a pilgrim just once and after this the judgment. So in reality eternal life is all about finding the promises of God and in learning and keeping HIS commandments. And surprising, they are very good for us and our happiness to help us walk through our lives in love, peace and joy as well. You and I are absolutely free to do what ever, no strings attached.
So starting with John the Baptist we find an open door for those who want to change from being the children of Adam to becoming the children of GOD. It is a wonderful story of faith and shows us how our Creator God even six thousands years ago was making a way for those who would be interested in walking in light, John 17:20-21. Even to the end of our time dimension our loving Creator God is encouraging us to come to HIM, Rev. 18:4 and 22:17 So if you don’t make it, it was your choice. Nothing was ordained, everything God created includes freewill so we are free and able to love and we are also totally responsible for the decisions that we make in our lifetime.
The Invitation:
John 1:36-39 And looking upon Jesus as He walked, he says, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, What do you seek? They said to Him, Rabbi (which is called, being translated, Teacher), where do you live? He says to them, Come and see. They came and saw where He lived, and stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour. As Yeshua (Jesus) was about to begin his ministry, many were listening intently to John the Baptist as He declared, “Behold the Lamb of God!” [John 1:36]. Some of those listening to John were intrigued with the man he was pointing to, and they followed Yeshua. So He turned and questioned them, “What do you seek?” “What do you seek?” Sounds like such a simple question…but isn’t it actually the most significant question of our lives? What are we truly seeking? Their response, “Where do you live?” says, “We want to know more about you now…” I love Yeshua’s response … “Come and see.” It was an invitation into an intriguing relationship and what a relationship it would be! These young men were about to become disciples of the Son of God. Could they have had any idea what that would mean? The small step of faith to follow him, discover his whereabouts, without knowing anything of what it would involve, the small step of faith…..but they were seeking Him. Passover has ended, and we who have found our “Passover Lamb”, recognizing Yeshua, the Lamb of God, are we much different from the disciples who curiously followed Him, not having a clue what awaited them when He said, “Come and see!”
So simple if you want to be in Heaven as one of God’s Kids you are going to need to consider the way you live that proves your love of HIS light is true. So you can not be an actor or a hypocrite about it in living for yourself and pretending your are really living for the Kingdom of God, Truth & Light. You are either of the family of Adam or of the family of Christ Jesus. There is no middle ground. John 12:24-26
From a old friend and brother from the 70’s, David Sinkler
I am not arguing with you, I am explaining why you are wrong.
I didn’t say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
Behind every successful man is his woman. Behind the fall of a
successful man is usually another woman.
A clear conscience is the sign of a bad memory.
I used to be indecisive. Now I’m not so sure.
Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be. Nor is there any future in it.
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in
your garage makes you a car.
Finally: I’m supposed to respect my elders, but it’s getting harder
and harder for me to find one now. LOL. fits nicely at 87…..
