CITIZENSHIP, WHICH WORLD
ALOHA SAINTS, FAMILY & FRIENDS, Beloved of God and me, John 3:16
CITIZENSHIP, WHICH WORLD, “WORTH CONSIDERING” 11/9/20 From Ken Smith
Today’s Scripture (Across my desk this morning from a church in Texas.)
But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:11, NIV)
Failure is an Event
In life, we’re all going to have times where we fall, make mistakes, and blow it. But too often, we get our performance mixed up with our identity. You may have failed, but you are not a failure. That’s what you did. Failure is an event. That’s not who you are. You are a child of the Most High God. You’ve been handpicked by the Creator of the universe. God is not judging you by your setbacks. Maybe you’ve blown a relationship, had an addiction, or done something you’re not proud of. Don’t let that become your identity. God’s mercy is bigger than any mistake that you’ve made. Your sins have already been forgiven. Every mistake you’ve made and ever will make has already been paid in full. The real question is, will you receive God’s mercy? You don’t have to go around feeling guilty, not excited about your future. You are free. You are clean. You are restored.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that Your love and forgiveness for me is not based on my performance but upon the fact that I am Your child. Thank You that every mistake I’ve made and ever will make has already been paid in full by Jesus. I believe I am cleansed and free. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Ken’s Comments:
Really a good word today to realize that we have a lifetime of grace and forgiveness through repentance in seeking God’s Grace for needed changes in our lives to become like HIM. Yes !!! and that is what it is all about. We have a lifetime to make the adjustments to learn to live at light speed. God is LIGHT and in HIM is no darkness at all. HE has allowed for there to be a limited time dimension for us potential children of Adam to learn to become like HIM. When I was learning to walk it was not a matter of how many times I had to fall down. It was a matter of how many times I was willing to try again and again and again. I helped teach 7 kids how to walk and was delighted in doing it. Each one was different and sometimes painful and sometimes really funny. And some times even destructive as the table cloth was grabbed for support with a table full of dishes. Could be very messy at times but in time they all learned to walk because they wanted to.
With God, HE is pulling for each one of us to learn to walk with HIM in HIS eternal family. But it is up to us as to our comfort zone. We have a choice to be comfortable with this world where lucifer is god or we can choose to make Jesus our LORD and change through faith into being like HIM. Of course it is much easier to say than to really do but God’s help is also available in giving us a hand up if we are want it. Eph.2:1-3: “And you [He made alive when you] were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you once walked. You were following the ways of this world [influenced by this present age], in accordance with the prince of the power of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in the disobedient [the unbelieving, who fight against the purposes of God]. 3 Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self ], indulging the desires of [a] human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were, by nature, children [under the sentence] of [God’s] wrath, just like the rest [of mankind]. 2 Cor.4:3: “But even if our gospel is [in some sense] hidden [behind a veil], it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing; 4 among them the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves [merely] as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake. 1 John 4:17: “Whoever confesses and acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 We have come to know [by personal observation and experience], and have believed [with deep, consistent faith] the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides continually in him. 17 In this [union and fellowship with Him], love is completed and perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him]; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love]. 19 We love, because [b]He first loved us. 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates (works against) his [Christian] brother he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should also [unselfishly] love his brother and seek the best for him.”

Worthy Brief <worthybrief@worthynetwork.com> A new report has shown that the number of registered voters who say they are Christian has fallen by around 15% since 2008, the Christian Post reported Thursday. The Pew Research Center report also showed that the number of voters who say they are not religiously affiliated more than doubled in that time. Mississippi has officially decided to ditch its old Confederate-themed state flag and has approved a new flag with the phrase “In God We Trust,” Christian Headlines reports. Approval for the new flag was given through a 78-22 percent vote, with nearly all votes counted. The United States officially took possession of its first Iron Dome missile defense battery in September, a milestone in the relationship between the U.S. Missile Defense Agency and Israel’s Missile Defense Organization. It’s just one example of cooperation between the two organizations, which co-developed the Arrow and David’s Sling systems; while the Iron Dome system was developed by Israel, the U.S. government helped finance production. Europe was bracing for another influx of people fleeing war and persecution, and poverty as over 1,600 African migrants were reportedly rescued at sea or reached Spain’s Canary Islands over the weekend.
