MARRIAGE & DIVORCE 2
Most people get married believing a myth that marriage is a beautiful box full of all the things they have longed for; Companionship, intimacy, friendship etc… The truth is that marriage at the start, is an empty box – you must put something in before you can take anything out. There is no love in marriage, love is in people, and people put love in marriage. There is no romance in marriage, you have to infuse it into your marriage. A couple must learn the art, and form the habit of giving, loving, serving, praising, of keeping the box full. If you take out more than you put in, the box will be empty. Unknown
I hope you gave the last notes on marriage some attention as to what a Biblical Marriage is supposed to be from the Bible. I have observed that a lot of so-called Biblical scholars who write many books that women tend to read, to me, have seemed to move the markers. Before I became a Christian in 1955 I had a wonderful “Cosmic Glue Theology” what was totally reasonable. Unfortunately it was totally a fantasy that I was living and It reminds me of a scripture that not only refers to men but to women as well: 2 Tim. 3, Whole chapter but (4-7) especially. Of course the core truth of a Christian Marriage is found in Eph. 5:23-25. “23 For the husband is head of the wife as Christ is the Head of the church, Himself the Savior of [His] body. 24 As the church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands. (Jesus always primary.) 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her,” Don’t believe it then ALSO read 1 Pet.3, whole chapter. As of this time according to Pew Research, those who are identified as Christian are having 51% of the present divorces in the U. S. And it is no wonder as the so call churches today are teaching very little concerning humility, authority and loving obedience. And really the Whole Church of Christ Jesus deeply needs that schooling from the top down. Obey alone has 114 verses in the Bible including Heb.13:17 on which few have heard anyone preach upon except in the flesh for self elevation. Or 1 Samuel 15:22. Concerning divorce, it is not an unpardonable sin but it does destroy families and damage children without parents roll modeling godly lives. And they have a tough time growing up to be holy people if saved at all. My parents divorced long before the paper work was done in the court when I graduated high school. It was a supernatural event that I was even saved at 22. So there are three Biblical marriage breakers, death, Matt.22:30, adultery Matt.5:32 & abandonment 1 Cor.6:15. But the only sin that can not be forgiven is to call the darkness light and the light darkness. Divorce is not an unpardonable sin. It does have sowing and reaping attached with pain as does everything we do that is sin. But Jesus came to forgive, cleanse and heal us from our sin. I have known of good men of God that were divorced, did not seem to be at fault and yet were benched for the rest of their lives by their church and not the Lord… I have also seen pastor’s dump their wives for another lady in their church, cause a lot of pain for everyone. But as the smoke cleared they went back to preaching again. I am sure that the their reaping was very painful. But perhaps they learned to become humble, loving and obedient to the Holy Spirit, that is what being forgiven is all about. Jesus came to save us from our sin. Matt. 24:18 tells us what to do about sin in the church but if there is true repentance then Jesus would like us to help the person up to try again and again and again, as HE said to His disciples, 70 x 7 for the same offence. Our Judgment is to help, not to destroy. We are called in 1 Cor. 6 to help the church with our Judgment to be better. The judgment to destroy is reserved to GOD alone. So If we have the wisdom and loving grace to help someone get back up if they want to get back up, we are to help them get back up. We all need this support from time to time, none of us are like Jesus, yet.

John 21:14-15, 22 After Yeshua’s resurrection, He showed himself to the apostles several times. Once, as they were fishing, Yeshua met them on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Peter was there, back at his craft, but swirling with inward negative emotions. The anguish of his recent denial, three times, exactly as Yeshua had predicted, mixed with the amazement and perplexity at the empty tomb, and finally the astounding relief and joy witnessing the risen Lord. Peter was on an emotional roller coaster for days, but the issue of his denial remained unresolved.
The Lord’s encounter with Peter on the Sea of Galilee was to fully restore him. Three times Yeshua probes His beloved disciple “Do you love me?” But this is more than just a quantitative restoration. The Lord is penetrating the apostle’s heart in this amazing conversation, because He really knows how much Peter loves Him and He wants Peter to know that He trusts him completely even after his awful failure. So Yeshua gives Peter his lifelong commission– “Feed my lambs!”; “Feed my sheep.” Yeshua knew that He could entrust Peter with this responsibility, and He told him so. And Peter was restored. Yet Peter still wobbles, even as he receives his restoration, when he asks about his fellow apostle, John. Yeshua’s response, “what is that to you, you follow me!” settles the matter. The Lord is saying, “stop the competition, Peter. Those days are over, yet you’re still comparing…I have work for you; I have a life for you; live it!”
The enemy would love to dig up your past, thrust it in your face, and leave you comparing yourself with others for the rest of your life – but the Lord has a life for you and He wants you to live it. Your life, not someone else’s. He loves you and He trusts you to be who He made you to be. So don’t allow your past failures or your present jealousies to prevent you from the life you’re called to live for Him! Your family in the Lord with much agape love, George Baltimore,
Around the World: President Biden Under Pressure As Taliban Hunts Girls, Journalists And U.S. Allies Taliban fighters ruling Afghanistan have begun hunting for Afghan girls to marry while seeking to kill journalists, Christians, Hazara men, and people who worked for the U.S.-led military, several sources say. Western allies of the United States struggle to respond to the Islamist Taliban group’s return to power in Afghanistan amid reports of killings and thousands fleeing the country. They also expressed concerns about the situation at a just-concluded virtual meeting of foreign ministers of the NATO military alliance. At least 22 people were killed and rescue crews searched desperately Sunday amid shattered homes and tangled debris for dozens of people still missing after record-breaking rain sent floodwaters surging through Middle Tennessee.
