RESTORATION
ALOHA FAMILY AND FRIENDS, Beloved of God and me, John 3:16-18
Today’s Scripture (Across my emails this morning from Texas.)
“…I will give them back everything they’ve lost. The last word is, I will have mercy on them…” (Jeremiah 33:26, MSG)
Balancing Your Books
In accounting, the term balancing the books means making up for a loss. If an account has a deficit, when you balance the books, you have to first take all the losses, all the deficits, and total them up. Then you know how much you need to add to balance it. When the books are balanced, nobody can tell there’s ever been a loss. In the same way, God has promised that He will balance the books of our lives. We all go through things that put us at a deficit—a rough childhood, the loss of a loved one, something that doesn’t make sense. If nothing changed, we would be out of balance. Life is not always fair, but God is fair. You may go through seasons when you’re out of balance, but God is going to settle your case. He will add up all the losses, the disappointments, and the heartaches, and He will pay you back.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You have seen the hurts in my life, and You feel my pain. I may be unbalanced right now, but thank You that You have promised to balance my books. I believe that You already have a way to settle my case and pay me back. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Ken’s Thoughts:
As I now look over my life at my age, the above is a true fact. What ever falls through the cracks, as your life really belongs to the LORD, is never lost. Several times in my life, meaning well, and thinking I was in the Spirit, I was wrong. And I bombed out really badly financially and emotionally. But I look back now and have to search to remember what happened or the names of those involved with the loss. So it is a waste of time to kick yourself again and again while going down the road of life. Mark it off, have a nice funeral for the loss and start a brand new day from where you are and what doors are open for you in the LORD. There is a scripture in the Old Testament that I truly remember during those times: It comes out of the trials of Job 2:24. “And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you”: and my people shall never be ashamed. Job is the oldest historical writing that we have in our Bible. It is the story of God allowing Job to go through a gut wrenching time in order to help Job get rid of his fear. The key verse for the whole 42 chapters is found in chapter 3:25-26.
Now here are the thoughts of a man who has been totally blessed by GOD in every dimension yet in total fear of what was not happening. So FINALLY, God had to allow Job to totally face all of his fears in order to have the victory over them. Job, (While healthy, rich and lots of heirs.): “Who wait for death, but it does not come, And dig (search) for death more [diligently] than for hidden treasures, 22 Who rejoice exceedingly, And rejoice when they find the grave? 23 “Why is the light of day given to a man whose way is hidden, And whom God has hedged in? 24 “For my groaning comes at the sight of my food, And my cries [of despair] are poured out like water. 25 “For the thing which I greatly fear comes upon me, And that of which I am afraid has come upon me. 26 “I am not at ease, nor am I quiet, And I am not at rest, and yet trouble still comes [upon me].”
Job was fearful for his children, health and wealth but not his wife? And all he was fearful of losing, God allowed lucifer to remove. And as Job came to himself and dumped the fear, all was restored in abundance. So fear is actually faith, only going backwards. What ever you maintain a fear of, can and will come home to haunt you. You will bring it to pass. It is a bit humerus for me that nothing ever happened to Job’s wife even though she suggested, “Why don’t you just curse God and die?” So the enemy was even able to use her for his efforts to subvert Job’s GOD connection. A great story about why we sometime fall into big pot holes and then blame GOD. Which even Job did not do even after all he went through. He lost all his kids, his wealth and his health and in none of this did he get upset with God. God never tests us, but he allows our testing when we are not walking in faith and righteousness. We are all subject to the pain of experience when we depart from God’s truth and love and get into our own pride and rebellion and try to be the master of our own destiny. Our Creator is very very patient with us and just waits till we get over it and come back to HIM and allow HIM to rule over us for our good. He has a good plan for each of us that we need to find and walk out for HIS glory and our JOY. Of course at death where ever we are becomes final. Whether in darkness or in light, the test is over.
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 2 Tim. 1:6-8
