WORD OF GOD, WORTH CONSIDERING 10/5/21 By Ken Smith<><
Have you ever wondered why there is little or no power of the Holy Spirit in the Church today? Often folks are sick for years and die early and ahead of the time given by God. ( 120 Yrs. Gen.6:3. ) Have you ever wondered why all of the Christian Churches seem to be in competition with each other rather than supportive of Jesus in unity? Are you one of those souls who has a compartment for religious stuff and another for daily living? And have pretty much given up on the church as we know it. It is a nice place to have friends and be social but is it really doing what is was created to do. Is it really helping us to become like Jesus and lift HIM up or is it just a comfortable place to go and to mostly be told that along with the Biblical history that we are really OK as per the traditions of the church and not to expect too much. But really, is the church following in the traditions of Jesus and the Early Church of Power that we see in Acts. With the church I attended for the first 13 years of being a “weedy” Christian I was told that, “The Book of Acts can not be used for doctrine.” It is a book of History…. ????? Wondered about that, but they did seems to know a lot more than I did at the time, 1955-68.
So what does the Bible, in context, have to say about all this? In 2 Tim.3:5, Apostle Paul was rather blunt in a prophesy concerning our day. Should read from the beginning of the chapter but I will only quote the verse, “For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them].” And again in Eph.4:14 Paul warns us to not be children, “So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of [b] unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead.” Good to read Eph. 4:11-16 to get a picture of what the Church of Jesus is to really look like. And our Lord Jesus also taught on the subject in Matt.15:6. “So for the sake of your tradition (the rules handed down by your forefathers), you have set aside the Word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect] .” WOW!!! “MAKING IT WORTHLESS.” In John 5:38, Jesus said these words, “And you have not His word (His thought) living in your hearts, because you do not believe and adhere to and trust in and rely on Him Whom He has sent. [That is why you do not keep His message living in you, because you do not believe in the Messenger Whom He has sent.]” The writer of Hebrews, in Hebrews 4:12, had this to say about the Word of GOD, “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.”
So, any deviation from God’s Truth (WORD) and the power of the Holy Spirit will not flow. If what we do is to work, what is done, can not contain any vain traditions or we will again be playing church and remain at square one. 2 Tim.3:5 The Holy Spirit can only confirm the Word of God as shared in faithful truth and substance as when it was given. It is my feeling that the primitive Early Church was on track as per Acts 2:41-43, 5:12-16 I believe this Power is still there for us today, John 17: 20-24, if we will allow ourselves to return to the Early Church truth, unity, and love in simplicity, humility and obedience. I don’t believe we can make a bridge between Acts that works if we allow ourselves to be manipulated by the vanity of the religious theater church of today and to lift them up rather than Jesus. Seems to me we will need a new wine and wineskin in the Holy Spirit to see Hawaii come under conviction for sin and to repent and find our way into the power of the Holy Spirit and to only lift up Jesus. If what caused Hawaii to be lost in the first place is rebuilt, will it not only fall apart once again? We would like to join with anyone and any church that understands this message. We need to quit justifying our lack of Power in the Holy Spirit. If we were keeping the commandment of Jesus and walking in the Truth that HE gave us we would be enjoy writing another chapter in the Book of Acts. John 17:20-24 and Matt. 28:18-20, “Jesus approached and, [a] breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them [b] into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you [c] all the days ([d] perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. [e] Amen (so let it be).” So we do have the power till HE returns and we are to teach and observe all that HE commanded. Obviously we have not learned to be obedient in doing that.
Jesus made of himself no reputation and we are to follow HIS example to be on track. When we are to saturate ourselves with God’s Truth and walk it out in humility. And then the Holy Spirit will confirm God’s Truth with power to lift Jesus up and draw all to HIM. Eph. 4:11-16. The Church will not go home until completed without spot, wrinkle or blemish in humility and obedience. The Church will become a match for Jesus at the Union, Rev.19. and in faith as per faith, Heb.11 For it is not by might nor by power but by my Spirit…. according to our Creator God.

U.S. Condemns China’s Mass Incursions Into Taiwan’s Defense Zone
The United States has expressed concern about the unprecedented appearance of Chinese military aircraft in Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ). The self-governing island said a total of 39 Chinese military aircraft entered the ADIZ, airspace dedicated to responding to hostile aircraft. That was one more than the 38 planes the Taiwanese military spotted on Friday.
Iran FM demands US unfreeze $10 billion in order to restart nuclear talks. Iran said it has told the United States that it will only consider returning to nuclear talks if the State Department releases $10 billion of Tehran’s frozen funds as a sign of goodwill, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said Saturday. (By the way, the Qur’an teaches that a Muslim does not need to keep his word with a non-believer. So any agreement the U.S. makes with Iran is really, morally, worthless.)
