PROMISE

PROMISE     “WORTH CONSIDERING”   4/16/19   (Across my desk this morning from Joel.)

Today’s Scripture
“…imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.”  (Hebrews 6:12)

Press Towards The Promise
Are you facing a challenge today that seems overwhelming? Through faith and patience, you will see God’s promises come to pass in your life. Understand that the enemy always fights the hardest when he knows you are closest to your breakthrough. He’d leave you alone if he thought you were going to live in mediocrity. If you keep pressing on toward your promise, through faith and patience, you will get there. Don’t be like the Israelites in the Old Testament who were right next to the Promised Land when they talked themselves out of it. They said, “There are giants in the land. It’s too difficult.” No, don’t look at the obstacles in your life today; lift up your eyes because you serve Almighty God. Follow the example of Caleb who kept his focus on God and said, “Moses, we are well able to defeat these people. Let us go up at once and take the land!” Stand in faith and keep believing because God will take you places that you never dreamed. As you press toward the promise, you will see God’s hand of blessing in your life and He will lead you into your promised land!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, I come to You today choosing to believe Your promises. I lift up my eyes to You, ready to receive Your strength. Fill me with Your faith and patience as I press toward Your promises in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Ken’s Comments:
A long time ago someone asked me,  “If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?”  An interesting thought at the time for a new Christian.  So the thought that came to my mind was,  “If I really believe the promises in the Bible to be of GOD then it goes without saying,  I must share the Gospel (Good News) of the Kingdom of God and the open door of love in the time that is now available.  I have found a peal of great value and others can receive it, as I have, for free.

Jesus taught that the Gospel would be shared to the whole world before time would cease and the new earth and the transition into eternity.  That we should repent, believe and share the Gospel in every way possible.  In fact in Mark 10:29 Jesus tells us that in sharing the Gospel we also save our life for eternity by sharing our faith in the promise.  That the sharing of the Gospel was more important than even family.  In fact Paul considered the sharing of the Gospel more important than his life,  Acts 20:14.  And we find the same thought in Rev. 12:11 at the eviction of lucifer from the heavens:

¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. ¹² Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
