BATTLE FOR MAN SOUL
BATTLE FOR MAN SOUL, “WORTH CONSIDERING” 8/5/20, From Ken<><
Today’s Scripture (Across my desk this morning from a ministry in Texas.)
“…The angel of the LORD came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you…” (1 Kings 19:7, NIV)
When You Run Out of Strength
The prophet Elijah had just gone from one of the greatest victories of his life to running away in defeat at the death threat of Queen Jezebel. He was sitting under a tree so depressed that he didn’t want to live. He said, “God, I’m done. It’s over.” He’d just seen a great miracle, but now he was tired of standing strong in faith.
Maybe you’ve been doing the right thing, praying and believing, but you’ve lost your drive. You may not have given up on life but given up on your dreams. Here’s the good news: God doesn’t condemn us or disqualify us or write us off when we get tired. God sent an angel to cook and feed Elijah once, and then a second time to strengthen him. That is what He’ll do for you. He’s going to cause blessings to chase you down. He’s coming a second time to push you into the fullness of your destiny..
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your provisions all along my life journey. Thank You for Your promise of coming to me a second time to renew me with strength and breathe new life into my dreams. I believe that You are coming again to cause blessings to chase me down. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Ken’s Comments’
The battle between Jezebel and Elijah is still going on. Many men of God have bit the dust in depression and unbelief. But like a child learning to walk, there is no option but to learn to walk, what ever it takes. That is part of life. No parent that I know of has ever slapped a child on the head and said, “You have now fallen down 27 times and it is over, you can crawl for the rest of your life.” Our Heavenly Father has a vision and purpose in HIS Loving Faith to make us into HIS Image and Likeness. And unless we actively use our freewill to say NO ! That is what our stay on earth is seriously all about. I love the prophesy of Christ Jesus in Rev.22:16-17, “ I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you and to give you assurance of these things for the churches. I am the Root (the Source, the Life) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and bright Morning Star.” 17 The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, believers) say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take and drink the water of life without cost.” The price or cost of Adam’s pride and rebellion has been paid in full by the humility and obedience of Christ Jesus. So now it is up to us as to what we want to do with our souls while in this dimension of time. In the beginning there was only one tree to avoid. Now we have a whole orchard of trees around us that are full of poison like weeds. And some of the fruit is very easy to become hooked on. The Bible warns us clearly of the poison and gives us a road map through the orchard but most just spend their whole life wondering through the orchard without looking at the road map of eternity. So if interested in getting back on the Road to Eternal Life with God, start reading through the Gospel of John for the story about Jesus then read Acts the story about the Early Church and then Romans for a clear view of what the road looks like, especially spend some time considering Romans 8 & 10. It really will not take long to do and your eternal soul is at stake. When you die if you are still in the orchard of poison eating the fruit you will miss finding the Kingdom of God. 1 Tim.4:11, “Keep commanding and teaching these things. 12 Let no one look down on [you because of] your youth, but be an example and set a pattern for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in [moral ] purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to public reading [of Scripture], to preaching and to teaching [the sound doctrine of God’s word]. 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, [that special endowment] which was intentionally bestowed on you [by the Holy Spirit] through prophetic utterance when the [c] elders laid their hands on you [at your ordination]. 15 Practice and work hard on these things; be absorbed in them [completely occupied in your ministry], so that your progress will be evident to all. 16 Pay close attention to yourself [concentrate on your personal development] and to your teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them], for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.”
There is but one universal & apostolic Church of Christ Jesus as LORD
And all who Love, Trust & Obey HIM are Eternal Members.
Worthy Brief <worthybrief@worthynetwork.com> A Christian convert in Iran has won an appeal against conviction for “insulting the sacred beliefs of Muslims,” but lost his appeal against two charges of inciting “propaganda against the state” and for “membership of a [“Zionist” evangelical] group hostile to the regime” respectively, the Christian Post reports. Ismaeil Maghrebinejad was arrested in January 2019 and sentenced by a civil court in January 2020 to a total of six years imprisonment on the original three charges. The Chief Minister of India’s Haryana state has announced he proposes to add a Freedom of Religion Act that would criminalize forced conversions, Persecution.org reports. Commonly referred to as anti-conversion laws, such legislation has already been enacted in eight other Indian states. The announcement on June 16 by Manohar Lal Khattar has reportedly caused serious concerns to Haryana Christians: radical Hindus have used this law in other states to justify attacks on Christians and their places of worship. Americans’ distrust for the news media to tell the story straight has reached unprecedented levels, an alarming development for any functioning democracy, a new poll reveals. The FBI has opened more than 300 domestic terrorism investigations since late May and arrested nearly 100 people in Portland, Oregon, a focal point of the George Floyd protests, a top federal prosecutor said on Tuesday. A simple observation is that America is facing a violent army of invading “Philistines” bent on nothing less than the destruction of the nation. And somehow, Americans have been paralyzed by the enemy’s sheer bravado and terrifying violence. A massive silent majority may well be wondering if there might be a “David” anywhere in the camp.
