JESUS, Son of Man, Son of God

JESUS, Son of Man, Son of God.                       “WORTH CONSIDERING”        2/13/26

1 Corinthians 10:4  and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

Paul reveals a profound mystery when he says the people “all drank the same spiritual drink.” Their source was not the terrain, not the wells they found along the way, and not their own effort. “They drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them — and that Rock was Christ.” Long before Bethlehem, long before the Cross, the Yeshua (Jesus) was present, sustaining a people who often failed to recognize Him. In the wilderness, the Rock was struck — and water flowed. God commanded it. Life came from the blow. The people were sustained not by their obedience, but by God’s mercy. Yet later, when the people cried out again, Moses struck the rock a second time — this time without instruction. Water still flowed, but the act carried a cost. Though provision was released, Moses was barred from entering the Promised Land.

This moment exposes a sobering truth: God’s faithfulness can still supply what our disobedience does not deserve — but that does not mean disobedience is without consequence. The Rock did not fail the people, but the approach to the Rock mattered. What God allowed in mercy, He still judged in principle. The Rock was meant to be struck once. The second time, it was to be spoken to.

Paul makes it clear — the Rock was Yeshua. Struck once for salvation. Once for redemption. Once for life. To strike Him again is to misunderstand the nature of grace. Even when provision flows, mishandling holy things has a cost. Yet here is the wonder: the Rock followed them. Yeshua is not stationary. He did not abandon them when they complained. He did not leave when they rebelled. He stayed near, present, available — continually offering life. Their survival was not proof of their maturity, but proof of His faithfulness. Many drink from Yeshua’s provision without reverence for Yeshua Himself. We receive grace, power, refreshment — but forget that intimacy requires obedience, and receiving all His promises requires honor.

This is the hour to recognize the Rock who has followed us all along. Yeshua has faithfully supplied and refreshed us, but He is not to be approached casually. Revival will be carried not just by those who drink from the Rock, but by those who honor Him. Yeshua was struck once for our salvation; now He is to be trusted, obeyed, and spoken to in faith. When we approach Yeshua rightly — no longer presuming His grace but responding to Him in holy reverence — He will not merely sustain us in the wilderness; but He will carry us fully into every promise He has prepared for us.
From George Baltimore

John 5:20, “The Father dearly loves the Son and discloses to (shows) Him everything that He Himself does. And He will disclose to Him (let Him see) greater things yet than these, so that you may marvel and be full of wonder and astonishment.  Just as the Father raises up the dead and gives them life [makes them live on], even so the Son also gives life to whomever He wills and is pleased to give it.  Even the Father judges no one, for He has given all judgment (the last judgment and the entire position of judging) entirely into the hands of the Son,  So that all men may give honor (reverence, homage) to the Son just as they give honor to the Father. [In fact] whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, Who has sent Him.  I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the person whose ears are open to My words [who listens to My message] and believes and trusts in and clings to and relies on Him Who sent Me has (possesses now) eternal life. And he does not come into judgment [does not incur sentence of judgment, will not come under condemnation], but he has already passed over out of death into life.  Believe Me when I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the time is coming and is here now when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear it shall live.  For even as the Father has life in Himself and is self-existent, so He has given to the Son to have life in Himself and be  self-existent. And He has given Him authority and granted Him power to execute (exercise, practice) judgment because He is a Son of man [very man].  Do not be surprised and wonder at this, for the time is coming when all those who are in the tombs shall hear His voice,  And they shall come out—those who have practiced doing good [will come out] to the resurrection of [new] life, and those who have done evil will be raised for judgment [raised to meet their sentence].  I am able to do nothing from Myself [independently, of My own accord—but only as I am taught by Father God and as I get His orders]. Even as I hear, I judge [I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to Me, so I give a decision], and My judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me.”

John 6:53-56 “And Jesus said to them, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, you cannot have any life in you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood [unless you appropriate His life and the saving merit of His blood]. He who feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood has (possesses now) eternal life, and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day. For My flesh is true and genuine food, and My blood is true and genuine drink.” …  So let’s talk about this, what is Jesus sharing with us.   Obviously this is metaphorical.  (A truth in story form but the meaning?)
Luke 21:36 “Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.”
1 John 4:16-17 “And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him.  In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains  perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world.”
Ezekiel 28:18, “You (lucifer) have profaned your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities and the enormity of your guilt, by the unrighteousness of your trade. Therefore I have brought forth a fire from your midst; it has consumed you, and I have reduced you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who looked at you.  Heb.1:7   “Referring to the angels He says, [God] Who makes His angels winds and His ministering servants flames of fire;”
