BORN TO WIN
BORN TO WIN, “WORTH CONSIDERING” 8/6/19 (Across my desk this morning.)
Today’s Scripture
“…If God is for us, who is against us?” (Romans 8:31, NASB)
You Were Born To Win
The Bible says that we are more than conquerors through Christ. It doesn’t say that we will be more than conquerors when we grow stronger, get older or achieve some super-spiritual level. Scripture says we are more than conquerors right now. Rise up and see yourself as a champion in Him! You can be and will be victorious through Him. The problems that so often intimidate and defeat many people won’t have a firm hold on you when you’re walking with Christ and have the joy of the Lord! When you walk with Christ, strength and victory are yours through Him. Here’s something to remember today: if Christ is on your side, it doesn’t really matter who is against you! The opponents you face don’t really matter and don’t amount to much. Friend, take another look at your life today. You are a friend of God! No matter what you may face or who may seem against you, let this truth anchor deep within you—God is for you. Now go out in joy and make a difference for Him today, knowing who is on your side!
A Prayer for Today
“God, I know that You are on my side and that the other side doesn’t matter. Please give me the strength to stand against the giants that intimidate others. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
My Comments:
The issue here is that in the beginning of Romans 8 that VICTORY is predicated or subject to us also being 100% totally in faith towards GOD. Most often we concoct a comfort zone in the realm of pastels. We don’t like pure white light, not use to it, told that it is impossible to be there. So we make up our on comfort zone doctrine and then ask GOD to approve of it. A little pink for passion, green for greed, purple for pride, brown for anger and so on. Many times when young in the faith I was finding sanctification and holiness in the Bible that I saw as God’s plan for us, I was told, “Who do you think your are, Jesus Christ!” But, but, but… that’s God’s plan for us, TO BE LIKE JESUS CHRIST. And in that same letter, Paul also writes this prior to the Victory (Born To Win) scriptures:
6 Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that [f]comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].7 [That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot.8 So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.9 But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and controls you]. But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God].10 But if Christ lives in you, [then although] your [natural] body is dead by reason of sin and guilt, the spirit is alive because of [the] righteousness [that He imputes to you].11 And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.12 So then, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh [we are not obligated to our carnal nature], to live [a life ruled by the standards set up by the dictates] of the flesh.13 For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons (children) of God. Rom. 8:6-14
REST: Also across my desk this morning….
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Christ Jesus offers us a yoke, but not a heavy one. In fact, since He often referred to us as sheep, one might wonder if we were meant to carry a burden at all, since sheep are never used as plow animals. When have you ever seen sheep carrying anything … you don’t — they weren’t equipped to carry heavy burdens. In any case, the Lord promised us a light yoke, with rest for our souls. No doubt, it is the burden of sin which He intended to relieve us from, giving us true rest.
Taking up the Christ Jesus yoke is equivalent to laying down a heavy burden, since His yoke offers rest, and He offers to carry our burden of sin. We often hear songs about laying our burdens down. Those words are a deep ministry to heavy laden souls. If you are burdened today, take His yoke upon you … lay it at His feet … be relieved … enter His rest. HIS yoke is the LOVE of souls, that we can carry, easily. Sheep love to be together and watch out for each other.
THERE IS BUT ONE CHURCH OF CHRIST JESUS AND ALL WHO REALLY LOVE AND OBEY HIM ARE MEMBERS.
Yours in HIS great love and wonderful grace and mercy, Ken<><
